So for the past several months I've been going to Terry's for both the hair salon and lashes. As a bit of background: my hair is not relaxed, but I do use a semi-permanent color. I go to Terry's about once a month for a deep conditioner, color, trim, and press (blow dry/flatiron). I do my own maintenance between appointments. Jo, the stylist who does my hair, does an amazing job. And (this is crucial) he gets me in and out in a couple of hours. None of that sitting around all day, which is important to me since I only have time to go on the weekends. His prices are also affordable, especially for the quality of service that he provides. And I am almost always (really) late to my appointment, and he is always forgiving and accommodating. During the downtime in my hair appointment, I've started getting my lashes done (the lash salon is a semiprivate room connected to the salon). Hands down, I've never had a better, more professional, or as natural-looking application of lashes. The outcome is usually flawless (though I am not) and I've always walked out of the door a happy customer.

Compared to other places where you can get the same quality. Especially for fill-ins. Most places, charge between $60-$75 (on average). This place charges $120. They claim it's because you will only need your lashes filled every three weeks. Even a month. If that were true, I would actually have no problem paying an every three week fill, of quality. But, therein lies the issue. After a week, the lashes start falling out pretty regularly. Consistently. By two weeks, they need to be filled, noticeably. Which is what I always ended up doing. Paying $120 to get my lashes filled every other week. And yes, I did say "always". Because I'm not just basing this after only going a few times. I went there regularly for nearly six months. I would communicate to Maryam, that they weren't holding up as long as I would have liked. She recommended a few things. Lash care. Things I already knew. I've been getting extensions for two plus years. I know how to take care of them. Excuses about your natural lashes shedding in the fall. Which I'm not saying isn't valid. But, the rate at which I would lose the fake lashes didn't decrease when winter hit. After going there for as long as I have, Maryam did not hesitate to charge me $60 because I missed an appointment because I got the dates confused. I had NEVER not shown up for an appointment ever. And, it was an appointment to patch up her work that was already falling out after a week.....again. That is poor customer service and not a good way to keep clients. After getting my extensions done for so long, I have to say that it isn't easy to find someone that does, even, a quality job. It is even more difficult to find someone who does a quality job at a reasonable price. A price that reflects the longevity of the work before needing another fill. I'm not looking for a cheap price. Because with something like this, you get what you pay for. If I'm paying $120 for a fill, the work better reflect that price. I was not getting $120 worth, biweekly. I don't expect a deal or a discount price, just a fair price. While it can be difficult to find a lash person, I can say with confidence, that you can definitely find someone who's prices and work, are better than Pure Beauty.

While the haircut was decent, I probably won't go back. First, it cost 50% more than I was quoted on the phone, which is enough to guarantee I never return. No one appreciates being misled. While the cut was ok, it wasn't anything special and it wasn't exactly what I asked for. The style I requested is one I've had multiple times before, so I know it's nothing unreasonable to expect. Lastly, my favorite part of going to the salon is the shampoo/conditioning. However, she rushed through it, pulling my hair roughly a few times and slopping water on me... not pleasant.
