From check-in to maid service and breakfast, what a nice, friendly helpful group of people. Even during construction( which I never heard), they were lovely. Even lent me an umbrella when it was pouring! I did have one of the newer rooms and they are lovely. Beds are comfy, and suite is well laid out. If there was one improvement needed, the hot water takes forever to get hot. That's it. I look forward to returning soon. Thank you again for making a difficult trip easier.

I still suggest staying away until the construction is complete, but i feel the manager - James Carlson - was professional and an apology goes a long way. ** Construction (not mentioned on website), this is our bathroom (but they can't clean it or relocate us), no WiFi, no tv (during entire stay), an ironing board it took both of us to get to work, no restaurant, no bar, awoken at 6:15 AM with sun streaming in window (no room darkening shade)... this is a Marriott property ?!?! We were here for a wedding on the property (my sister-in-law was told construction and reno would be completed by wedding date) so changing hotels wasn't an option. GM 'allowed' Bonvoy points vs room discount since I'm a Bonvoy member. Like that was compensation for all the issues?! I've stayed in motels with more amenities. Stay away ....

Parking was plentiful, and rooms were nice. The front desk staff were the most friendly of folks that I have ever encountered, and the breakfast options, which are included, were perfect to get the day started. There is a short trial behind this hotel that I really had hoped to be able to adventure into, but as I traveled in winter, daylight was limited. The only negatives of this hotel were the over hot heater and underhot shower temperatures. Perhaps folks don't have the same need as I do to scald my soul during showers, but alas, my California blood needs to boil to start my day. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed less than 24 hours but I could easily spend a few days here without an issue. Fully stocked kitchen with a conventional oven and full size fridge. Basic kitchen ware and utensils. The complimentary breakfast was full of hearty and healthy options. Fantastic job by the staff keeping everything stocked and clean. My only issue was the two bedrooms were supposed to have two queens and one bedroom only had a full. I drew the short straw and got that bed but since sleeping solo, it wasn't a huge issue. BUT- I do think you should get the room with the amenities in your reservation. Staff was helpful, checking in was a breeze and the whole property was pretty spotless. I'd book again.

The breakfast is outstanding: there is a cooked-to-order menu (with eggs from their own chickens!) and a beautiful set-up in a sun room overlooking the nature reserve in the backyard. This beautiful wooded oasis is just up the hill from Fitchburg State University. The home is lovely, with three upstairs rooms available for guests. With our family along, we spent time in two of the rooms. The Harvard is spacious and has a great shower with streams from two sides. What a luxurious experience! The Hudson is also roomy with a serene view of the pool and the back woods (and chicken coop!). It has a jetted tub, so very relaxing, and a shower too. The beds are huge and comfortable, with what must be a pillow-top on the tall firm mattress. These might be the most comfortable rooms we've ever stayed in at a B&B! Breakfast is freshly made with several delicious options from a menu where you make you selections the night before. The eggs are fresh from their own chickens! The hosts Sarah and Ryan served us in a well-lit "Florida Room" with a view of the flower-garden. And we saw a hummingbird flitting among pink and lavender flowers! On the first floor, in addition to the breakfast room, there's a kitchenette with complimentary beer and soft drinks and snack bars, single-serve coffees, and tea bags with a hot and cold water dispenser, (and both milk and cream, thx!). There is a large comfortable sitting room, where we spent part of a pleasant evening with the friendly owners, swapping travel stories. And from there is an enclosed brick pathway to a rec room with a nice billiard table. To the left is the clean outdoor pool, or ahead is the open covered lighted porch with a ceiling fan, which has a step down to the pool. We took a few laps, then walked down and around to the patio with a fire-pit and a large jacuzzi. On an overcast September day, the pool was cool but not chilly, and the jacuzzi was warm with easy-to-adjust powerful jets. The chicken coop is hidden downhill a bit further, and there's no resident rooster so you might hear some cheerful clucking but no raucous crowing. It's just 1.5h by MBTA train from North Station in Boston to this tranquil hideaway. The hosts are charming and hard-working, always making improvements, always ready with friendly conversation. The price is of course a bit more than some local hotels, but not at all expensive, and our envious hotel-staying relatives all came by for a relaxing evening of wine on the porch.

Friendly Crossways - Merry Christmas from Friendly Crossways!

I recently attended a wedding at the Friendly Crossways and although I had a great weekend with…read morefamily and friends, I think my perspective is different than most of the previous reviewers. As others mentioned there were no other options close by in the Harvard area to stay, so we decided to stay on site (even though I tried to find alternative arrangements). We arrived on Friday and found our room, which had only twin beds (the same for almost all rooms) but were yet to receive our linens (sheets/towels/pillow cases). We did get those later and as another reviewer mentioned they were very worn. You could also not bring in your own pillows or linens (as I had brought) and the party would be fined if they saw you doing so. The bathroom/showers which I saw were pretty outdated and dingy (except the ones near the front door which appear to be newer). They weren't unclean, but were just in desperate need of some TLC. We were also informed of a strict 5 minute shower policy which there are signs posted for in the bathroom. As most have said, it is very much a DIY venue, even so far as to washing your own dishes throughout the weekend. We did help out with a lot throughout the weekend which was fun helping our friends set up their wedding and be a part of it, but many times we would need to ask Mary or Keith (the owners of the property) for assistance or direction with a given task. Most of the time they were very friendly and helpful, but not all the time. I certainly understand they have a job to do, and tasks the Bride/Groom set up for them, and that helping me wasn't on their priority list, but at least be a little bit pleasant because we are paying you to be there. I would have to agree that the food they provided was excellent, and they were able to meet the needs of many dietary issues in our group. If I was reviewing only their food it would be 5 stars, no question. They used fresh ingredients and were very passionate about what came out of the kitchen. The other issue was the firewood. We were lectured that it was to be a "camp fire" and not a "bonfire". We were only provided with about 6 tiny pieces of wood to keep the fire going for our allotted 2 hours...and NO wood was to be put on after 11pm as the fire had to be completely out by midnight... It was nice to be able to just walk back to my room after the wedding/reception. The ceremony was beautiful set back under the trees on the lawn. If you are looking for a DIY wedding where you have to do just about everything for set up and break down then this is probably your place.

Mary Helan was a breeze to work with, super quick to respond, so helpful and friendly. The cooks use fresh food from the garden right there, it was so soooo good and does not get any fresher than that! I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to have a stunning outdoor venue with great food and people around you!

When we checked in, we were required to put a $200.00 security deposit on our reservation. At this time, we requested that both our rooms have housecleaning the following day. This never happened. The hotel is very old and dated and heavily carpeted with frayed and old carpet. I was not comfortable walking barefoot in the room. The elevator was so old and worn and unattractive. Breakfast was lacking. Tasteless scrambled eggs, cold bacon and gray sausage. There was no outlet next to the coffee maker in the room so that could not be used. This venue has truly become a home for our event, thanks to its friendly and helpful staff, convenient location with ample parking, and a layout that works extremely well for a gathering of our size. We took over the entire conference center and all the sleeping rooms, setting up on Wednesday and staying through Sunday evening. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Elaine (Director of Sales), Habib (Food & Beverage Director), Ryan (Head Chef), Kristen (Front Desk), and Eric (General Manager) during our planning and throughout the event. Their professionalism, creativity, and willingness to accommodate our needs--including last-minute requests--made the process smooth and stress-free. This year, our festival welcomed over 600 attendees (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, cello, and singing) and included more than 400 sessions. We had 20 traditional music concerts, 40 jam sessions, and 350+ workshops. The event managers and their teams were friendly, professional, and quick to respond to requests. Their attention to detail ensured great set-ups, and they worked behind the scenes to make the festival a success. The hotel's front desk staff deserve praise for their warm and helpful attitude, making our attendees feel welcome. The 14 function rooms, along with 5 suites and the Pub, were ideal for our needs. The hotel provided two recently tuned grand pianos. The 1,000 chairs we requested were comfortable, and water stations were restocked consistently throughout the event--a thoughtful touch. To streamline meal times, the hotel offered quick, delicious buffet dinners on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. They also set up a convenient food station near our registration area with tasty sandwiches, snacks, coffee, and fruit at fair prices. We didn't spend much time sleeping since the music jam sessions went late every night, but our rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall, this year's festival was a real success. The Westford Regency provided excellent value for both function and sleeping rooms. Its location, right off Route 495 between Routes 2 and 3, was easily accessible for attendees traveling from across the Northeast, and the 900 parking spaces were quite convenient. We've already reserved our dates for November 2025, and I highly recommend the Westford Regency to anyone seeking a comfortable, friendly, and affordable venue for a large event. This place truly goes above and beyond to make the experience memorable.
