When I asked for the requested layers again, I was told there was no time to redo the cut because another client was waiting. This is not acceptable after an appointment has already started. Throughout the haircut, the stylist appeared uncertain and unsteady, which made the experience uncomfortable and unprofessional. I did not feel confident in the process at any point. I only stayed because I was with my 16-year-old and did not want to escalate the situation in front of her. Overall, I paid $80 for a service that was not delivered as requested. The salon itself is beautiful...very artsy, chic, and full of positive energy. What stood out to me most was how well everyone worked together. You can tell this is a team that truly enjoys what they do and supports one another, which made the whole experience feel so genuine. I was referred to Mayko after seeing the amazing job he did on my nurse's hair, and I knew I had to book an appointment with him. It ended up being one of the best decisions I've made. I waited a total of 20 minutes to never be greeted or apologized by her, despite having seen her many times before. This is in addition to a foot injury and crutches, meaning not only my own schedule was disregarded despite my disability and inability to drive, but also my mother's as she has been driving me around. Considering I would have missed another appointment right after my service, I was forced to leave. I am very disappointed with this standard of service, and I recommend all new customers absolutely stay away from Amaya due to her complete inability to communicate effectively and offer good customer service and quality work. The area has lots of parking. Establishment is clean and inviting. Aeron was so friendly and welcoming. She was very attentive to what I asked for. I gave her sample photos of the haircut I wanted, and she gave me everything I asked for and more! She was so sweet & patient with me, I asked lots of questions about hair styling and hair products as I don't get to do my hair often, so I sincerely appreciate her being patient and kind with me answering all my questions. Aeron was also super attentive and caring when styling my hair, stopping to ask if the blow dryer temperature was not too hot, and how was her hairbrush grip while styling my hair to make sure she wasn't hurting me. She even sent me home with some hair clips and a grip hair roller for my newly cut bangs, to help me style it! Also educated me on what hair products she recommended for my hair to style and care for it. I love my new haircut! It was worth the 3 hour drive up to have her do my hair. Fortunately, they seem fully staffed. Customer service is always hit-or-miss, mostly miss. The store itself looks very clean and fully stocked. In the past, most of the cosmetics had testers, but I believe they are no longer available for non-prestige items. There have been times were customers open the non-prestige items to test, and then the item either is marked as damaged or may be marked as clearance. It looks like they removed some aisles...or moved them... to accommodate the large Benefits Brow Bar. I didn't see anyone there, so not sure if we need to inquire at the checkout or just stand there until someone acknowledges us. This time, my visit was strictly for replenishing my makeup items, so I ordered via the app and went to the pickup counter. I simply told the employee that I placed the order and picked up the item because I needed to make sure I selected the correct color...she showed a bit of an attitude saying I need to wait about 15 minutes. In the meantime, she went to help other customers. Once she returned, she was a bit nicer. Parking is not an issue as there is plenty in front of Ulta and for the neighboring stores.
