COVID update: If you guys see my previous reviews you'll see I've consistently been updating my reviews for Sana's Day Spa over the years. To say I was disappointed the MOST about having to stop coming here bc of COVID is an understatement, I'm SOO happy they're up and running! I'll admit I was anxious coming back here after four grueling months, but it was well worth the risk. They are doing APPOINTMENT only booking, you book online at their website. The ladies were all geared up for safety and everything from entering the door, to exiting was immensely clean. They had hand sanitizer available to enter near the door, check you w a contactless temperature gun, and provide full CONTACTLESS service Despite having a full get up of safety on, Saku's goddess like hands did her usual magic and I was soooo happy with my eyebrows. I HIGHLY recommend going back post-COVID. And to my loyal readers(whoever can afford it) please remember to tip GENEROUSLY. When I first moved to the area, I'm really glad I listened to the other reviews about going here! I've found a place where I can trust my brows to! They did increase the eyebrow threading price by $1 within the past two years that I've been going but it's still very affordable compared to the other places in the area. I highly recommend Saku or Indira as they're really nice and do a great job. I never feel rushed even when they're packed and they make sure you're satisfied with the end result. The temple massage (they'll ask if you want lotion instead of asking about a massage) at the end is the cherry on top! So relaxing! Definitely make an appointment and that'll skip you ahead of the long line of walk-ins. read more

I can only comment on the threading and the specific person Mina who threaded my brows. She was amazing. She was quick and it was painless but my favorite part by far came at the end. She asked if I wanted some lotion (for my brows, since threading can be uncomfortable and lotion can be soothing). I said yes, figuring she'd just slap on some lotion like most do. No. She gave me a solid 5-10 minute massage of my forehead, temples, and even my scalp. It was out of this world. The brow threading only cost $9, which was so worth it for the quality plus her amazing massage. I want to come back and get a massage from her bc if she was this good with just my forehead, scalp, and temple, then I figure she'll be just as fabulous doing my back/neck/shoulder . I had a good experience here getting eyebrow threading and tinting. I was a walk in and was in the chair within 10 minutes which was unexpected and good for me. My brows were threaded slightly narrower than I'd prefer, but I accept blame for not providing guidance when I sat down. The lady that helped me was very sweet and did a nice job. read more

I have been to this place couple of times. Each time I come out; it is only dissatisfaction with their work. I have done full face threading and eyebrows many times only to see my face not cleaned enough, and the roughness of the thread on my skin is left for days. Eyebrows are worked only on the extras. The main reason to write this review is to express my dissatisfaction with them after my recent bleaching and facial session. The lady who worked with me during the session, spent less than 30min for the whole session. To my dismay she only spent 5 min for strokes on my face. I dont see any change in my face following the beach and the facial.I felt it is a waste to spend 100$ without any results. My threading was horrible! I went on a special and I guess I got what I paid for. One eyebrow was higher and thinner than the other. I now how to wait at least 4 weeks to get them redone. I did enjoy my eyebrow tint but I would love to be reimbursed for my eyelash tint. 2 stars only because the Receptionist didn't catch the fact that I didn't pay for all my services. I won't be going back here. My eyebrows are so uneven after getting them threaded and this is not the first time I've had an issue with them being done wrongly or uneven here. It's so irritating because I am very particular about my eyebrows (as are most women). I've attached photos as well. When I told the woman one eyebrow was thinner than the other, she advised me that it appeared that way because the eyebrow is lighter in color. Meanwhile at the same time this is happening to me, there are two women next to me complaining to their eyebrow tech about how she had just ruined one of [their] eyebrows. The women were upset and definitely showed it (they even had to step out to smoke a cigarette to calm themselves before coming back in). Moral of the story: I'm doing my own eyebrows from now while looking for a new place to receive these services from. They don't even give you a temple massage, how do you call yourself a spa? Don't even get me started on why I stopped getting waxed here . . . (I will update this post with that trauma later, and no, it was not my first wax). also when I used to frequent this location and book appointments, people would write down the incorrect service and I would end up sitting there waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Great smiles and service. The ladies at this spa are awesome and made me feel so comfortable. First time I did threading of my eyebrows today and they were done so neatly by Mariam. I also did a full leg and underarm wax and then the owner did my Brazilian wax. I felt really comfortable even at almost 9 months pregnant. The owner explained that she alone does the Brazilian wax so that all the clients feel comfortable with coming to the spa and they don't have to wonder who is going to do it. I was a walk in client and was really lucky to get all my services done in a timely fashion although they were so busy. I recommend making an appointment though but they were really good in doing all that I wanted in a timely manner. I wanted to do more like massage and back scrub etc but being pregnant limits me at this point. I will definitely return soon! read more

So I have been a loyal customer at Sana day spa but recently they have bought in a lot of new (read inexperienced staff)... for whatever reasons but it is definitely not helping them retain their clientele. Since my last 2-3visits, I leave disappointed every time, I've been to this place. Even a service like Threading is "untidy" and not up to the mark.... Very very disappointed. After a tedious search for eyebrow threading, I settled on Sana Day Spa because it's very affordable on my budget ($5.00 for brows!), and it's along the route I usually go to school. Location: It's in the Lotte Supermarket Plaza off of route 50 and 28, and it's pretty easy to find as well as convenient if you need to do some food shopping as well. Parking was spacious and I didn't have an issue finding the spa. Atmosphere: I felt that it's clean, there was some soft new-agey music and it's a soothing environment. Customer Service: I called ahead to make an appointment, and they were very courteous. However, I came a bit early and I was the only one there on a Sunday afternoon, and they accommodated me quickly. Never did they push to sell their other services, which is always a pet peeve of mine. I'm not sure if they accept credit card, as I paid by cash, but I would bring cash just in case. Actual service: I had the first girl who served me promptly (unfortunately I do not know her name). I have had threading before and it was very painful, but she was pretty gentle. I asked to have it with an arch, but I think since she's relatively new she referred to another threader who did the majority of my threading. My main threader, Usha, did a great job. She encouraged feedback of what kind of brows I would like and was was soft spoken, and kept me at ease. They sanitized their hands before touching me, and they used mainly just cotton thread, tissues, and a spool to brush my brow hairs back. End result: I have great brows which is better than I imagined because of Usha and it was well worth the $5. Their prices seem competitive and I'm considering taking on their waxing services ($40 brazilian! gotta love that) I usually am not a repeat customer to beauty salons, but this is definitely one to look out for yelpers. read more

Honestly, I love this place. I've gone back regularly since my first visit and have now seen each of the women who do eyebrow threading at least once. I even took my husband too (yes, he gets his eyebrows done from time to time since I'm not a fan of the Unibrow.) I'm constantly amazed at how quick and painless the process is compared to other salons, how beautifully they shape my brows, and how friendly the women working here are. The first time I walked into this spa was on cruches about two years ago. I was in agony having torn my ACL and experiencing all the muscle aches that comes with trying to compensate for my injured knee. I got a great massage. I wasn't a yelper then.... Fast forward to today..... I needed a brow job and I remembered walking out of that lovely massage to a vision of chairs filled with beautiful women getting their threading on. After driving around Metrotech trying to find a place for lunch, I happened upon the Sana Day Spa. I walked in and told them that I was a virgin to threading and was seated immediately. I leaned back and prepared for what I thought would be torture. NOPE! No torture involved. No hot wax being applied to my face, no excruciatingly painful hair by hair plucking. Five minutes later I had the most beautifully shaped brows I have EVER had! Never again will I have hot wax smeared on my face!!! I come here regularly to get my eyebrows threaded by Sana (the owner). She does an amazing job and she talks to you when you are getting it done so you don't think about the pain. Threading is not too bad if the person is doing it right and she does a great job. I always leave happy and if there's a problem, I will just tell her and she fixes it right away. I use to also get my brazilian here by Sana and she does a great job also. I don't get it anymore because I decided to get lasered otherwise I was here every 4-6 weeks. I made an apt and went in to get my eyebrows tinted and threaded. It was my first visit to this spa. At first glance it is very clean and serene with a small water fountain wall that is very beautiful. I was greeted immediately by very nice ladies in the front and the receptionist took my name and let me know she'd get my lady for my apt. From the start of service to the end, Sana was sweet and gentle as well as precise. She knew the look I was going for and I expressed my concerns with thin eyebrows. Knowing that she made them appear thicker and achieved the color I wanted in my brows. The price was extremely reasonable $7 for threading and $20 for tinting, didn't mind at all. I actually fell asleep while my tint was setting because of the serene spa music and the quietness of the spa, even on a Sunday. Will definitely be going back! read more

I heard the Brazilian waxes are great and only $40 and I may get one soon too!! But if you are anywhere in the NOVA area i suggest stopping through because it's worth the stop you get great service all for a reasonable price. I've been wanting to get a Brazilian for ages! But, now, since my wedding is approaching, I decided to get one soon. I was reading reviews and searching for a good place until I came across Sana Day Spa on Yelp and decided to take a shot at it. Sana was very calming, nice, and very professional. I explained to her how this was my first time and I am nervous. She asked me not to worry about it. She said it will hurt a little, but I will be fine. She was very fast and thorough, and was talking to me most of the time to get my thoughts off of the waxing. Honestly, I thought it was going to hurt a lot more (especially I am middle eastern and you know what that means for hair!), but it didn't! I was very surprised!! But, definitely I think it has to do a lot with the person. Definitely I will be going back to Sana to get my Brazilian. Great service and great prices compared to other spas! read more

I just had my very first threading experience. I am 29 years old and I have always had very stubborn eyebrows, hard to shape and not very full - hard to get the arch I so desperately want without making them super thin. I came here because it's very close to my house and had some pretty good reviews on yelp already. I kept reading about how pain-free some people's experiences are and man oh man do I question your sanity! :) It was way more painful than waxing/plucking in my experience, however, well worth it. She did an amazing job, the pain was albeit tolerable, and it was pretty quick. I am very happy with the results and will definitely be coming back for regular maintenance! terrible experience - I will never go there again. zero customer service. The lady kept rubbing products into my eyes throughout the facial even though I kept asking her not to. She burned my skin with the steamer and rubbed my skin raw with the scratchy towels when wiping my face. I've been to this place before to get my brows threaded and the do a satisfying job every time I need a clean up. I stopped going for my brows because they need to be penciled in for my liking and I don't have enough brows for a clean up... Lol TMI. However, I came across this place once more when I needed a gel manicure. I met Anna, one of the nail technicians there. She is awesome! My manicure would last up to 3 weeks, they have a variety of gel polish but not too much to get you confused or indecisive about your choice. Anna is personable, great as what she does and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants needs a good laugh or conversation. The ambiance is relaxing, they play spa music at the entire salon. Really helps with clearing the mind. It's a quiet salon so you won't hear a lot of chattering (if you're into that). read more

After seeing Cinderella, my sister and I decided to tint our eyebrows - we are naturally VERY blonde. She got hers done in Richmond and they look awesome so I did a ton of research and Sana Spa had the most reliable great reviews! I walked in without an appointment about 45 min till close and I didn't catch the technician's name, but she did a fabulous job threading my brows. I was nervous for the dye because my brows are blonde!! They came out dark but she wiped them a few times and assured me they would fade as most dye jobs do. I visited midday on a Sunday without an appointment for eyebrow threading. They had four stations dedicated to brows and they all seemed to move quickly. I was easily in and out in 10 minutes including my wait time. Service was prompt and friendly. My brows look good too! You can pay with a card and tip on the card also which is a big convenience.
