Privacy! All spots have bushes and grasses and total privacy. The showers are hot and one person rooms that lock! So nice ! The tent areas are mulched and absolutely perfect. We have been here lots and just got back from a trip. It's ok. Rangers super friendly and plenty of firewood to buy for $5 a bundle. The walking trails are good and you can walk to the beach and the lake and drive to many local places close by. I just don't love state parks as so many people drive a little to fast in a campground with kids all over and everyone has dogs including us but one night a dog across from us howled and barked all night and kept us up and it is just a little chaotic to go to state parks these days not to mention I had to get up at 5am 6 months prior to get the spot. But it's a public campground and this is how it is now. We were able to ride our bikes far and to the beach and ride our fat tire bikes on the beach. Good location for the park. read more

Stopped here for a picnic in our car on our way home from the coast. I haven't been to Devils Lake in years. It looks completely different. There are houses all around the lake now. With a few Public Boat Launch Areas. It was a bit windy the day we were here but the lake still looked amazing. We just needed some nutrients to get us home. My Wife the "Rockstar" made us sandwiches and we happily munched away on chips, soda in our car. We were enjoying the brisk breeze until yellow jacket and his friends smelled lunch meats. We just rolled up the windows and turned the A.C. on. It was almost as nice The view was still great. There wasn't a lot of activity on the lake. A few boats. There was a couple enjoying each other's company on the dock. They had tied their kids kayak to the dock so he could row around and not worry. I thought that was a good idea. The boat launch is not steep and its wide enough for 2 side by side. The dock is in great shape. There is even a Self Launch for small boats, to help people launch difficult craft like a kayak. We did notice a couple Picnic Tables, I don't remember seeing BBQ's but I bet they have them. Most public parks have some BBQ's. The park isn't that big but it's decent sized. The parking lot is big enough for a dozen trailers with trucks. Free parking. Free boat launch. read more

Docks for taking the kayaks out on, yurts and tent sites, clean bathrooms and showers, close to the beach, cell signal for emergencies, a nearby Dutch brothers....literally couldn't ask for more! Booked a 1 night yurt stay on a Saturday night mid May and it was not worth it. Yeah, it's a very cheap option and close to the beach but we had tons of issues for a one night stay. Most of the camp ground is flooded with part of the road covered in 6in-1ft of water. We were woken up at 1am to several very loud vehicles (with broken mufflers) playing in the water. They sounded like ATVs ripping through the campground. They found an open, vacant spot right across from us to set up in, and kept all 3 of their loud vehicles idling while setting up for the next hour. We used the rest room around 1:30am since they woke us up, to find people messing up the bathrooms. They plugged all the toilets with TP and dumped out the trash, stealing the trash can. We went back to sleep and we're woken up by another neighbor chopping wood with this loud music on at 6am. I was so irritated by our whole stay that we packed up and left early that morning. I gave two stars because the yurt itself was cool and had a nice heater. Not staying here again if I can help it. read more

Ahhh.. Devil's Lakes State Campground, witness the sounds of the panicked morning doves as their homes are being cut down with chainsaws. We have stayed at a few different yurts along coastal Oregon to vacation, but none quite as disturbing as this one! I usually don't write bad reviews, but it is time. I have problems with this place. When we arrived, we were not informed that there would be a tree project going on 50 feet from our site that would involve 2 full days of the sounds of chainsaws and wood chippers. We actually planned this vacation so we could get away from the sounds of the constructions that has been happening outside or house for the past 4 weeks. We laughed at the irony of it all on the first day, and were pretty angry by the second day. I confronted the volunteer worker at site B1 about the noise. He told me that it "wasn't that loud". I asked him why I was not given any warning, because I would have probably just left if I knew it would be that loud coming in. He told me I should have called ahead to ask if there would be something like this happening. I asked him if anyone ever does that. He said not one person has done that in his 40 years of working there. I thought that was actually pretty funny, so I let him live. Another thing to note is that there was no safety tape around the perimeter of the project, which was a bit weird, since you don't usually mix kids with falling trees. By far one of the worst state parks on our road trip. Every full hook up site is flooded. So had to get a partial hook up site. Got a orange tag on Motorhome saying I owe $7 more dollars due to being a non-resident. First off, your sites are a damn mess!!!! Only few sites were available. And definitely not worth $40 dollars a night!! Especially when we couldn't get a full hookup. Now I get to sit here and listen to the loud obnoxious wood chipper all the stay. read more

If you like mosquitoes, flooded RV sites, and no maintenance, come to this state park. I have 14 mosquito bites after one night here. Standing water is everywhere in June. Big pot holes at sites allowing water to collect. Parts of this park do not feel family safe. Across from our site is a homeless guy sleeping without a tent on a picnic table at a campsite. I'm glad that homeless people have a safe place to stay, but the fact that this element exists here, should have been disclosed at reserve America. It doesn't feel like a good fit for children. Be careful to keep your RV closed & impenetrable by rodents. We heard what turned out to be mice or rats in heavy foliage around our site, and are now dealing with eradicating them. Most likely an endemic problem throughout the park, as maintenance is lacking throughout. Staff were absent to disinterested in maintaining this park or interacting with guests. Keep rolling & save yourself the trouble. read more

Ahh what can I say. We LOVE camping here. We have a 26 foot travel trailer and it fits perfectly in these spots. Lots of privacy with the trees and bushes all around. We bring the dogs, bikes and lots of sidewalk chalk. The kids can roam freely without feeling like they are going to get lost or hit by a car. We will make this spot a priority every time we pass thru Lincoln City. read more

Really cool campground! In town with much to do. The lake is pretty big and also has some beautiful views. Campgrounds are very private. Bathroom and shower facilities are very clean. Water is easily accessible but it is city water so isn't the best tasting in my opinion. Nearby beaches and restaurants within walking distance. Blackfish Cafe had amazing chowder! The salmon jerky at Barnacle Bills was amazing as well! Campgrounds had mix of families and older folks. Hosts were kind and the lady working in the front check in office was very nice! read more

Not bad. They're conveniently located very close to town, but you also have to deal with the noise of the highway. We were there on a Thursday in late July and heard a lot of sirens. There were also several raccoons exploring our campsite after we'd gone to bed--so pack your food up. The campsite itself is clean and has plenty of trees. The bathrooms are pretty nice and there are showers. If you are pitching a tent it will be on sand--they also have plenty of Rv hookups and a few yurts. read more

The lake, town, and beach are all nice but this campground was not pleasant. The tent sites are very tiny and offer little privacy. The bathrooms were okay but felt inadequate for the number of people staying at this place. We got extremely unlucky and had a couple of tweekers staying next to us who stayed up all night long rambling about nothing and letting there dog run around the park. This isn't the park's fault and definitely soured our opinion of the place but I can't imagine being thrilled either way. There were a lot of families staying here but there seemed to be a constant noise level of parents screaming at their kids to either 'get over here' or 'get away from me'. We stayed in about 10 campsites this Summer and this by far the worst. I'm sure you could have a different more pleasant experience but all I can say is camp at your own risk. read more

Will not go back to this place ever again!!! The ranger for the night shift was rude and even called the Sheriff on us because we were being too loud and it was not even 10:00 pm which is the cutoff time!!! I came across her when she was talking to my daughter stood there for a minute or two before I asked what the problem was...as I asked...What is going on? She dared to say that my daughter was being very argumentative. When the only one talking was the Ranger. There was about 200 of us as we were going as a Church group. I mean people go camping to explore, have fun, and share memories while ur sitting around the fire. Not to be caged in ur tent all board and do nothing else but to complain! This ranger even before 9 she was already telling our kids to not be so loud and to not do this! Can't wait for her BOSS to get our complain as a group because this this was not right! read more

Great Campground! I really enjoyed staying here and plan on returning next year. The grounds were nice and clean. The state park employees were nice. Bathrooms were clean and did feel like they were actually at a campground. The showers were nice and clean and private. A lot of the camping spots were nice and covered with trees.
