HORRENDOUS customer service experience!! Can't tell you how mad I am. I had a change in plans and called last night to inquire about canceling my reservations for 2 weeks from now. The agent that answered said that there was a holiday window and it required a 30 day notice (kind of hidden in the disclaimer but I found it and understood the reasoning). She said that she did not have authority to override the policy but would check with the supervisor the next day (today) and someone would call me back to me know if they could do anything for me. I got a call from them today alright saying that they had canceled them and I would not get my money back. I said that if, I wasn't getting my money back, I would just keep the reservations. She said it was too late and she'd canceled them, but if they were still available I could go book them again and pay twice for them. I said they were supposed to call me today to let me know my options. She said that's what the note said. I said I didn't care what the note read, I cared about what their agent told me. If I just wanted to cancel and lost my money, I could have done that last night. The whole point of waiting until today was that they were going to tell me my options. I am going to continue to post my displeasure on this review site every time it comes to my mind. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

This KOA books us as entertainers for 4th of July weekend which is perfect because we are performing at wineries all along the Oregon coast. I call to confirm and leave a message. 9 days before our booking I get an email "my wife should have emailed you two weeks ago to cancel sorry". If I hadn't called, I would never have heard from them. We had already began our tour so little I could do. They just left us stranded for a week in Oregon on the 4th with no where to stay. These total losers thought this practice was totally acceptable. Thankfully Thousand trails had their stuff together and made it into one big party. F KOA Thousand Trails all the way! Silly thing was was they said our act was not a good fit, they also said they forgot to plan but yet offered to book us at a different time. That makes a lot of sense. So many excuses, so many stories Literally the biggest flakes I've ever dealt with in 30 years of being in the business. We played the KOA in Glacier park multiple times. Guess that's why they're the number one park in the US and then there's this place on the opposite end of the spectrum. They can't handle one reservation how they gonna handle yours? They still have an outstanding invoice for cancelling they refuse to pay. read more

**After showing this review to a few friends I was told I should shorten it to make it easier to read for other guests also removing the name of the individual i interacted with since it is possible that it was a 2nd person.** I called to inquire about policies for my family members upcoming reservation. She asked for booking details. When I couldn't provide the exact site type since I was not the one who ordered this, she scoffed *laughed at me* clearly frustrated. When I confronted her attitude she said something along the lines of "I'm so sorry that you feel that way." I finally got an answer for the question I called in about to begin with but when I asked for her name, she hung up. When I called back, she picked up. I got her name (apparently a different person than I first talked to even though they sounded the same) but when I asked to talk to the manager or owner I was told he wasn't there and there was no way to reach him at the moment. I'm writing this review hoping management addresses this egregious customer service. Update - Owner's Response Adds Insult to Injury The park owner called Yesterday, stating he fired the girl who's name I had left in the first review, then claimed it was the wrong person. Saying I had spoken to a 2nd person when I called back (despite the voice matching when I called). I acknowledged that I could have been wrong, offered to correct the review, but then he asserted my review contained "inaccuracies" (e.g., denying she laughed, or hung up. despite him not being present). Due to these alleged falsehoods, he canceled "my" reservation, which wasn't even mine to begin with. So now he has kicked out a customer who had nothing to do with my interaction. It's concerning that he'd fire someone without the full story or at least reaching out to me to verify, also odd that the 2nd person was more believable than the 1st. Then to punish a guest who had nothing to do with our interaction. This shows a disregard for customer experience and a problematic management approach. read more

I really love this campsite. I have stayed here twice: once in a tent and once in the glamping cabin. It's such a beautiful and well created campground. However, it unfortunately feels pretty unsafe here. We payed about $110 to stay in one of the cabins (granted, this is less than most hotels, but much more than a lot of campsites!) and we were pretty excited. We arrived and found that there are a lot of really odd and off putting people here, most of which seem to have been staying here long term. This really damages the overall safety and simple satisfaction with the area. The folks to the left of us were smoking about once every hour right on their front porch (not allowed) and their car has an extremely flat tire that doesn't look like it's been touched for a few months. A lot of unkind and sketchy people around. It's disappointing to see such a nice area be overrun and taken over by disrespectful and sketchy individuals. I would not recommend coming here with small kids out of concern for their safety. read more

Our family converged on this KOA for a 2-night stay to escape the summer heat and enjoy some beach time. We're used to more primitive camping so a campground like this was a real luxury. The general store was so well stocked you could almost show up with nothing and be just fine. There's a little cafe on site that does breakfast. The playground kept the kids entertained. And there are showers, laundry and a game room for those who don't like roughing it. I was a bit worried about being so close to other campsites - but everyone knew the "be cool" code of the KOA and respected the quiet hours. The campground is a short drive to the beach and Lincoln City so there's plenty of stuff to do. We'll definitely try to make this KOA a yearly destination! read more

Short notice inquiry, was worried about them not being able to accommodate. Gentleman named Steve answered the call! Very friendly and polite. Quickly asked the questions that needed answered. Told him what we needed for space and hookups. After registration over the phone I was sent confirmation. I was also sent a map layout, this was helpful as we have a tow behind and can be a little stressful not having any idea of a layout. They also have this available on the website! One we arrived everything clearly marked for driving lanes and where do stop for registration! They then guide you into your spot. They have lots of space available to enjoy the stay. Few of the amenities and activities you can enjoy are below. Playground Tetherball Basketball Badminton or Volleyball Disc Golf "One of my favorites" Horshoes Cornhole I've included several pictures of Help with some referencing! If you have furry friends the pet area is clean when I visited and fully enclosed so you can have off leash if you feel comfortable. Overall my one night worked out really well here and would definitely return to check it out again. read more

Spoke with the owner about canceling a reservation that was 12 hours old and within the cancelation policy that they sent me on their reservation email. And I received a very rude response. I did not cancel or reschedule the appointment and told him I would call back with what I would do. But he went ahead and canceled the reservation keeping our $150 deposit. Their email has two cancelation policies: "Camping Cabins: 7 days cancellation notice required. Please notify your KOA one week before your scheduled arrival." and "Camping Cabins and Deluxe Cabins: 14 days cancellation notice required. Please notify the KOA you have your reservation with by 4 p.m., 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival." Steve, the owner acknowledged that this is confusing and a problem and that they have spoken to KOA about it. He acknowledged the problem and then quickly took our $150 for absolutely nothing. Dealing with the Lincoln City KOA and its owner is just sad. It is sad that people are willing to take peoples money in this way when it is also acknowledged that their email needs to change. My family of 5 took a 2,000 mile road trip from Idaho to the Oregon coast and down through California. We stayed at 3 KOA'S on our trip. Lincoln City was by far out favorite KOA location. We stayed in a cabin and it was super clean and you can tell must have been recently renovated. It had a mini fridge which was a bonus in our book. The resort was much more low key and not as busy with children running all around as in Astoria. It is also just down the road about 2 miles from the Lincoln City Supercharger for you Tesla owners. Pro's: - Clean and nice spots, road, etc. - Easy and friendly check in - Location as it is not too far from town and easy to travel up and down the coast checking out the sites. Especially nice if you are driving a Tesla with the Supercharger up the road. - Breakfast options - the prices were reasonable and the food was good. Would suggest the biscuits and gravy. Con's: - Not as many amenities for kids as the other resort (but this could be a blessing in disguise. - Not as many spots so it books up fast. (Again could be a blessing in disguise) - Steep entrance way coming in. Not sure why others are down on this resort but I can say we will be back. Its centrally located if you want to go to Lincoln City or even go up and down the coast to Tillamook or Newport. read more

Came here for the 4th of July weekend. Came in Thursday night. Stayed till Sunday. The park is nice and clean. The staff was outstanding. They have a nice little shop that has most anything you will forget or possible need for emergency rv hose repairs. The place has lots of cabins and tent sites. Did not notice any one living in the park with old or junky units. The people complaining about narrow sites and hitting stuff may just need to learn how to drive. I had no problem pulling my 33ft bumper pull trailer in and out of the site. The little restaurant Mell's has some great grub. Had some biscuits and gravel and over easy eggs that were made spot on.. as the wife and talked we will be checking in on open weekends for this park, so we can come back and spend more time here. The beach is about 10 minute drive. And Devils Lake is across the street. So in the end don't be afraid to book and stay here it's a nice place. read more

Staff & owner never checked to see if we were ok after a tree fell on our daughter's tent in the middle of the night. We had to call to get them a cabin & they asked if it could wait till morning. The owner was on the property & never came to see it was a tree. I heard them on the walkies say a branch. No! It was a tree! Thank God no one was seriously hurt. We will never stay here again as they did not even care about our safety. read more

Came to town to help out my brother and needed a spot. There were none left on the paved parts so I got a spot back in the gravel area. It was ok but a little pricey for being on the gravel, I would have expected the sites on the gravel to be a lot cheaper than they were since no sewer or cable. I definitely like this campground but for the price will only book if it's a site on pavement or if I was to get a cabin. The sites back on the gravel for a RV were a little loud too with the adjacent property having constant dirt bike riding and some people staying in the gravel sites seem to be here more long term. I stayed in site 69 and unfortunately you don't get to choose your site but I would rather have been on the opposite side due to the noise. read more

I was here the last part of August. I know, I know, I'm writing this a little late. I thought that KOA would be a "you can't go wrong with any site" type of place just because it is a KOA. Boy was I wrong! Holy smokes, my site was horrible (#64)! Where to begin? Do I start with the inability to back in because the site in front of us was too close? We only have a 17' so it's not like I was pulling a huge trailer. Think about my thoughts when we pulled up to see this old beat up trailer to our left (if you're facing our site). I mean, it was obviously a permanent spot. That trailer has been there for some time. OR do I start by saying that we couldn't even use the site because the roots on the tree. Really? Why are you making this a RV site? We had to park as close as possible to the old beater on our left and had to set up our picnic table almost on the road in order to have a steady table. We didn't even bring our camp chairs out because, honestly, we just wanted to stay inside. The only plus side of this was that we were next to tents and they were very quiet. One guy had a guitar and played for a while but then that was it. Some talking but no real noise. I did enjoy that I did not have to make dinner because they have a special which is really good. Also, the store was practicing social distancing and only allowed a few people in the store at one time. Overall, employees were nice, but honestly, I felt that I was the reject shoved in a corner. Unfortunately this makes me wonder about the other KOAs which I have been planning on visiting this coming summer. We shall see. read more

There were a large number of families spread throughout the park that were there for a local young-teen sport tournament. Families let children/teens run wild throughout the day. Long awaited 10:00 quiet time arrives, and NO visible park presence to address the amplified music, yelling, running children etc. Park management indicates in later email exchange that "Our night security person was on site and did work diligently to dissolve the groups making noise. Unfortunately there were more than he could handle alone...". We were outside the entire day and evening and saw NO evidence of the gangs of kids and amplified music, etc being addressed by the park staff/security even after the 10:00 quiet hours timeframe. At 11:00 pm we made the decision to leave and were off the property by midnight. The issue was still ongoing at that time. The fact that management acknowledged their security person was overwhelmed and adequate actions were not taken at that point is alarming. I am willing to pay KOA prices for the security that a controlled facility provides. Unfortunately what we experienced was not safe. An overwhelmed security plan is NO security plan. We like the location of this park and the care the management gives to maintain the grounds, etc. This is why we have gone back multiple times. But security issues trump all that. We will not be returning. read more

Okay...so this is another KOA we stayed at...better than the rest though. But...again...RV sites are far too close together...no wriggle room. Great if you like hearing everything your neighbors are doing. We definitely did not get a level site as portrayed. K9 dog area sucked!! Very very small area and obviously no one keeps check on the amount of dog feces left behind by rude dog owners that don't feel it necessary or are too lazy to pick up after their own. If you own them then be responsible for them!! No one likes to sidestep dog crap...not even my dogs!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this KOA and we've been to several. Plenty of staff, all very friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms and sites. The store was stocked with all the helpful camping amenities, ice, wood, beach toys, gifts and food. And then there's Mel's Kitchen. Do not miss the most affordable, delicious breakfast. The pancakes were huge! We were also there for the Saturday night barbecue and ice cream. All delicious and huge portions for an unreal low price. Even during covid this place is doing a wonderful job to make camping a special activity. Near the beach but also don't miss Devil's Lake and the awesome park/swim beach. This koa is very close to it. Would recommend to everyone. read more

According to posted pictures, this campground looked nice. However, the spots are extremely close together. So close together, that we would have walked out of our trailer off the steps and into the picnic table of the neighboring group. They were so close we couldn't extend our slide out either. After a 500 mile trip, lots of confusion, and dealing with some unfriendly staff, the only solution was to put us in their overflow dirt lot. We left for an Oregon State Park and never looked back. No more KOA campgrounds for us. read more

Huge facepalm! I did not trust my instincts and reserved this site. One of the worst arts about our trip, it took us 8 hours to reach this place and our disappointment was huge. Here's my list of why I would not suggest this place and why we will not return here: 1. Customer service is always huge. The woman who helped us, she had maroon colored hair, we did not get her name, was incredibly unfriendly. Her and another older woman ignored me, my daughter in law and my husband to discuss something (who knows what) and then finally helped us. Communication with this woman was no pleasant. 2. We had a 32 foot trailer. The site we were in was not a good size, you feel hemmed with hedges separating sites. These sites provide no type of privacy because they aren't tall enough to do this. 3. There are very few fire pits on sites. This is because the sites are so small, if you put a pit fire here, you run the risk of this igniting one of the hedges. 4. While we were setting up, there was someone pruning the hedges, incredibly noisy and he left all of the clippings on our site. No clean up at all. Didn't look good. 5. There was supposed to be a restaurant onsite, there was not and it looked like the building that was supposed to house this had seen better days. 6. While we were cooking breakfast Saturday morning, someone, i am guess he works there, is the owner or who knows, came to our site and while my daughter was cooking bacon, appeared very unpleasant and asked for the owner of the trailer. Apparently he received a notice that someone was using bad language and arguing. I am hoping that we were not the only site that he approached. 7. The bathrooms appear to need some work. the ventilation is awful and the air dryer that used after hand washing was unusable. 8. There is nothing special about this KOA. It needs work. The place needs work, it is run down. 9. Be careful if you still choose to camp here that you carefully pull into wherever you are staying if you are pulling a trailer, etc. It's a tight fit for rv's. 10. Because of the type of assistance that I received from the woman in the office and because this person approached my site about bad language and fighting, i might feel that i was targeted simply because I am a minority. We will never come back to this KOA again. Period. If i could give this a negative score i would. read more

We love this campground. We come every summer for a week. We reserve months in advance and give them the site number we want and we always get it. Nice grassy area, Adirondack chairs around a lovely fire pit, four more chairs around a table, a picnic table, and a swing. And that's all on our campsite. Lots of old-growth trees, and the staff couldn't be nicer. Nice central coast location to a lot of places. Bathrooms are clean to the point where we don't even bother using the one in our trailer. If you forget something, the camp store has it, including a nice bottle of wine! The café breakfast is hard good, and it was nice to pull in after a long drive and be able to have barbecue on Saturday nights and ice cream. If you need a swimming pool and such, this is in your place. But this has a lovely nature trails and it's quiet and we enjoy it. read more

We stayed here overnight on June 26th in a 40 foot fifth wheel towed by an F450. This was our first time staying at this KOA. The driveway is steep however it is not as steep as a road we were in in Utah last summer, which ripped our ladder off. If your vehicle is in good working order, the hill won't be a problem. Our check in was fine, the office staff was friendly and informative. Mel was out on the grounds when we pulled in, and waved in a friendly manner as well. We did not observe any unfriendly behavior by anyone. We did not use their bathrooms or laundry facility, so can't comment on that. Due to the size of our rig, we reserved the largest of the pull thru sites. It was easy to navigate to, the turns into and out of it were more than adequate to accommodate our length and the site was clean and as advertised. It is a gravel site, and has some slant to it, but our auto leveler had no problem adjusting for it. The site was narrow, but not so narrow that we couldn't get all of our slides, including our deep super slides out and still have room to walk around. We did not eat with Mel in the morning as we were still traveling, but the menu is given at check in, and the prices are not ridiculously high. Additionally, it's a pretty big menu and I'm always happy when the camp ground offers cooked food, it's a bonus. And it's usually good. We travel with a dog. Our dog was never a problem, however our dog is a good citizen, doesn't bark and is obedient. We did have a neighbor's dog who barked like crazy at the camp fire at 1030, but was quickly quieted down. I'm sure the owners made it stop as it didn't seem like enough time for Mel to get over there. So, if your dog is not a good citizen, it's probably your problem and not the camp ground staffs problem. They work for the common good of all of the campers. I'm not sure what some of these negative reviewers have against this KOA, but we are travelers, who stay at camp grounds across America and Canada, and this camp ground isn't even in the bottom of our favorites. It's right in the middle for size, ease of getting to etc. It's in the top 10% for location, coastal Rv sites are notoriously small and expensive, and this one mitigates those things well. If you have a larger rig, don't be worried about getting around in this park. read more

It's all right. Shower stalls are very small. No privacy in camp sites. Cabins look nice. Lots of grass and a creek runs thru with easy access. Expensive compared to private parks. Attracts lots of noisy kids and rednecks, no offense to rednecks but they are kinda loud. Given the choice I wouldn't stay here again. read more

If you are perfect and not a human being with needs this is your place. The staff was rude to my husband from day 1. They are not helpful and then when you do ask for something act like you are putting them out. The only decent human would be Erin he actually takes the time to treat you like a human. Oh but wait let's not forget that I am now in a church parking lot with Cervical Disk degeneration and a referral to a spinal surgeon with major loss of strength in my hands because I fell out my front door because my spot has sludge mud for ground. But wait there is more I am not there because I parked on grass Patricia accused me of cussing her out, all I said is "You need to quit f'ing yelling at me" --- 5 minutes earlier I was thinking about suicide by the way because my husband died of covid, I am being denied his ashes, and I am being garnished. I have a lot of physical and mental problems. THE ONLY THING THIS PLACE CARES ABOUT IS THEIR GRASS, not people. read more

Ok..the KOA itself is pretty good, not super great in comparison to other big fancy ones, but pretty good. We came here after a week long stay at another coastal state park and I was shocked at how different this place was when we first got here. It's not necessarily the KOA's fault, but the campers all around us were pretty rough around the edges. The spots here are extremely close with no privacy and so we had what seemed to be some sketchy characters around us & really rough looking beat up trailers & cars barely running. I had a lot of anxiety the day we left camp to go to the beach because I was sure our trailer could be stolen by the time we got back..but it was still there thankfully, but the spots are so close I had to keep all of our windows closed on a hot day because loud adults on one side talking politics, & smokers on our other side blowing awful cigarette smoke everywhere. it's just for some reason, maybe bad luck, it was like that our first visit here. But the KOA itself has a great big playground & grass field, beautiful wooded scenery all around, great laundry facilities, a kitchen cooking weekend BBQ & morning breakfast..the staff are excellent & always friendly & so so helpful. They've got free s'mores night, $1 ice cream social, etc. We always love these amenities that KOA offers. I think the sketchy vibes are more of a Lincoln City problem as a whole because our whole weekend down here was a shock to the eyes in comparison to what I've experienced my whole life weekending here. Way bigger crowds, hitch hikers, drug problems, trash, etc. It's really sad, but this is an honest take & should be considered for families who want a nice, peaceful weekend away at the beach. I'll choose many other beach towns before we're back in Lincoln City. read more

While our stay there this weekend was overall satisfactory (facilities with clean showers, restrooms, clean sites, and very friendly camping neighbors), the customer service of a few staff members (Owner/Operator husband and wife team) was obnoxious, repulsive and downright discourteous. My family had received a complaint on Saturday afternoon that our 9 year-old Coonhound was barking incessantly while unattended. We were setting up our site - unfortunately located right next to the main office building and loud playground area - while our dog was watching passing people walking their dogs. What dog doesn't bark at other dogs every now and then? My family wrote a complaint to the main office about the negative attitude of the staff member who informed us to "keep your dog quiet". There were other dogs who barked more often than our old lady. The owner/operator husband and wife team did not handle themselves in a professional manner and were extremely rude to my family, and at one point even personally insulted my parents in front of other camp goers for writing a "horrific Facebook review" about the campground being dog un-friendly. Stop stalking your Facebook page and focus on your customer service skills instead, Lincoln City KOA. Also, if you prefer to not have dogs barking at your site, then inform the public on your website that your facilities are not dog-friendly. Some staff members were extremely nice and others were unfortunately not. Work on your friendliness and rapport with your overpaying guests. "Uhhhmm....What. The. F*#%." This was my initial thought after driving through the Lincoln City KOA campgrounds for the first time. Unless you like your camping area to be about a foot away from your neighbors on either side, you will feel slightly claustrophobic. And by slightly claustrophobic, I mean REALLY claustrophobic. Normally when I go camping with my parents, we bring a large, two room tent; a canopy with our folding table, kitchenette, stove, coffee pot (yes, a coffee pot), and coolers underneath; and lounging folding chairs set up around the campfire, among many other things. We also normally have about four of five times the space that we had at this KOA campsite. Thankfully we only stayed for one night! Instead of bringing our luxurious two room tent, we brought our small dome tent. This tiny tent literally took up half of our site; our car took up the other. Our folding chairs were practically on top of each other by the fire. We had absolutely no privacy. I don't know about you, but when I'm camping, I like to think I'm in the outdoors where there aren't a whole lot of people around who can turn their heads and instantly see inside our tent. Not to mention, we got stuck two spots down from a large group of people who were BLASTING country music all night (country...really??). Quiet time begins at 10pm, but when we went to make a noise complaint, they told us that WE needed to tell them to turn it down. Umm, no. That's NOT how it's supposed to work. Where are the people monitoring the campground? To make my experience even worse, there were little kids screaming and car doors being slammed the entire night. Between the kids, slamming car doors, loud country music and my dad snoring, I think I only got about two hours of sleep. Thank goodness I had my iPod. The moral of the story: stick with the state park campgrounds. They're bigger, cheaper and actually enforce the quiet hours. read more
