Many issues with the room and upkeep. On check-in, the sheets were unclean (blood). I didn't notice till I went to sleep and moved to the other side of the bed. I reported the next daay and the sheets were changed. Window was miserable, screen torn and an angled wooden stick holding the window closed... had to look at it. View was amazing though. Blinds wouldn't stay open (kept dropping at an angle). Fireplace didn't work. How water took several minutes to get hot. Shower pressure was wimpy. 8:00 am construction right below me woke me up. Noisy room heater non-stop. Couple in the next room was engaged in loud screaming and swearing (mostly the guy). I was on edge waiting for something worse. Lauren was kind and sympathetic with an apology, but I really believe a discount should have been give (I stayed 2 nights), maybe even with a night's credit. Lauren was great with food recomentations however. Overall the property and room were shabby and in need of maintenance and general upkeep. Not the best. I won't stay again. read more

When we first arrived, the room seemed okay. It was older and had that typical "old house" smell, but it appeared reasonably clean. Older places sometimes feel worn even when they're cleaned, so we didn't think much of it at first. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. We bought steaks to cook the next day and stored them in the refrigerator, but the fridge wasn't cold enough and the meat spoiled overnight. The range hood above the stove was covered in grease and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the kitchen cabinets were sticky. The biggest issue was the bathroom. The shower backed up with sewage that overflowed onto the bathroom floor and leaked into the room. All of the toiletries I had brought from home had to be thrown away. Thankfully, the staff moved us to another room. However, the second room (Cottage #127) was even worse. It had an overwhelming odor that never went away, even after leaving the windows open all day and overnight. The edges of the carpet were lined with dust, pet hair, and who knows what. The carpet had visible stains that appeared to be pet urine, and the blinds had been chewed up. The room felt dirty and poorly maintained. Neither room had a bathroom exhaust fan, so the steam repeatedly set off the smoke alarm while showering. The bathroom light also had a noticeable delay before turning on. Overall, it's clear this property is in need of significant maintenance and updates. For a cheaper price, we could have stayed at a nearby Best Western that offered cleaner accommodations, a pool, and complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we won't be returning and can't recommend staying here. read more

This is the worst experience in my life for a hotel or motel stay!! I recently booked a NONPET room from Ester Lee Oceanview Inn for $200 dollars a night, When we entered the room last evening The stinging strong odor of pets urine was everywhere in the room, ESPECIALLY NEAR CORNERS. We talked to their front desk for a change, but were told they're booked up and no room was available. Actually we found out afterwards the adjacent rooms were vacant. It was late so we had no alternatives but to stay. The room was terrible. Carpet was stained. Kitchen floor was sticky. Bedding sets were so dirty that they looked like grey instead of its original color of white. The towels were not clean. So were the other items. We all slept over the night with clothes on. It's a torture every minute we were there. We felt DISGUSTING. In the early morning, we left, but the urine odor stained our clothes and our hair. We sealed all the clothes we had on last night in plastic bags. The clothes we had in our suitcases also smelled of urine. Our bags smelled like urine. It's a nightmare and it RUINED the vacation. Absolutely terrible and disgusting. The front desk when the booking agents called DENIED there was ever pets in the room and refused to co-operate. THEY ARE LYING STRAIGHT ON. We'll never be back to this place. Be cautious on their good reviews, it was a great family business for 50 years now the property is bought by a motel company chain in 2023, their management is a mess. Great customer service. The hotel has been recently updated new paint carpet TVs accessories are new or newer. The rooms are clean and well maintained nothing broken. Everything functions well and as expected I only wish they had more sweets with hot tubs and just one or maybe two? They also need better beach access. There was one super whiny, steep trail by sweet three with a hot tub and then a road that you had to walk all the way down view was beautiful and they have that advantage over many other hotels, but they can use utilize the beach access much better for them in their business than what they are doing. I will definitely be going back there to visit again. It will become my secret highway. read more

Booked a room online based on the pictures on their website for it. We were put in a room NOT pictured on their website. When I addressed our dissatisfaction, the manager stated, "It's a room type" and refused to provide even token compensation of any amount. This hotel is greatly dated and seemingly not doing well financially as they don't offer daily housekeeping by default. I'm not sure how much time the housekeeping actually spends in each room anyway given that when we arrived their were two "body hairs" on the window sill in the living room... read more

I absolutely love the Ester Lee Motel. Now, to be honest, the motel itself is maybe three and a half stars-- it's old, the beds aren't great, and the sheets are awful. But there are many five star qualities-- the view through the large windows that open fully is exceptional. But there are many real star is Britney (sorry, don't know the actual spelling) at the front desk! She is so kind and joyful, super helpful, works hard, and she's also funny! What more could you want??! I will continue to pack up my bedding and return to the Ester Lee to make the home of my dreams for just a few days whenever I can!! read more

The Ester Lee is an "iconic" landmark in Lincoln City that I remember from when I was a kid (50+ years ago). Many times since, I, my friends and family have driven by and said we should stay there. Well, my son and I finally decided to give them a whirl. Knowing this is an older place I had no high expectations for modern fancy accommodations. I don't expect my upstairs neighbor's sudsy water to drain into my kitchen sink. I do expect my room, linens and kitchen to include all dishes and equipment to be clean! Our unit was a two bedroom with kitchen pet friendly that was a lower unit. I expected the coastal musty aroma that comes with years of humidity in a concrete walled space. Beautiful sunny days with lots of wind whistling through the door jamb but that's part of the coast! The gathering room was of good size with sparse furnishings. A sofa and chair on the back side and a small TV on the front side of the room about 15-20 ft away. The layout was odd but since we weren't there for TV it was ok. I don't think our fireplace worked but the room got very warm from the sun and chill in the early morning. My son brought his small bird so we needed a pet room. The carpet definitely smelled of wet dirty dog but the furniture was clean. There were pet sheets and a blanket etc to cover furniture if you have a pet that will be on the furniture. The sleeping rooms were fine. One had no window the other had a nice ocean view. Bathroom had glass blocks to make the shower walls to add character. Some towels were fresh others were "clean" but you could tell they had been Hey baby girl, what's going on on the racks for a long time. The kitchen had salt & pepper, minimal pots/pans and utensils (but they DO have some). There is a set of dishes for four but flatware for three to four depending on forks, spoons or knives is out there. If there are four of you someone is not going to get a fork! In the dish cupboard there is a sign that the dishes have been cleaned, but if you want them further sanitized to contact the front office. After finding the bread plate had not just a smear, but chunks of butter still on it and a pot that had food stuck around the sides inside and out, we washed everything before using. The hotel provided one packet of regular and one packet of decaf coffee. Our stay was2-days, and there's no housekeeping between arrival and departure so it would've been nice if they would have provided a second coffee or at least offered a second coffee at check-in. Our stay was not bad enough to walk and eat the cost (which I have done elsewhere) but I don't know that I have a desire to go back. There was just no overall "warmth" about this place to make me feel comfy cozy! read more

I'm never the person to give a bad review but I recommended this place to my husbands side of the family for all of us to stay. I use to come here every year with my fam and it was always amazing. This time around was not the greatest experience. It just felt dirty, the room we had didn't have a deadbolt on the inside so if you have little kids who like to escape... good luck. This is not a good option. It just felt gross. We ALL got sick after the first night. We woke up completely ill. Pretty sure it was from the dust, mold spores, or pet dander from previous people Also... I just think they need to do an inspection, our symptoms do seem like mold exposure and with the building being so old that concerns me. I guess there is new management. The older management was awesome. Hopefully things change, but we won't be coming back. On the plus side, The view is amazing just wish they took better care of the place. read more

This is a very attractive older place and reasonably priced We unfortunately did not have a great experience When we arrived we found a gift left over in th toilet bowl Kind of nasty but one flush and it was gone The real problem we had was when a drunken arge native couple arrived next door and the literal physical fighting kept my wife awake until the front desk was notified She requested a room change but was told that was not possible and the next night this lovely couple was back for round two. Not a great experience. We used to love the Ester Lee and went every summer. For a few different reasons, we had not gone in the past few years. We just stayed there for the first time in a while. It is under new ownership and was not good. First off, there is no beach access. The road behind the cottages that was an easy walk to the beach is now blocked due to construction because some rich person is building a beach house. We were not made aware of this when we booked or we NEVER would have booked this motel. There were chalk markings saying to take the 35th St beach exit, but we walked all directions of the back road and none were beach accessible, they simple went to private homes. We saw while driving that you could drive down 35th St, but we didn't, we were not sure if we could park or whatever. A HUGE part of the point of booking a beachfront hotel is to have EASY beach access. We've been to the beach many times, so not a huge tragedy, but still a disappointment. It is impossible to reach an actual person if you need assistance. We tried to call them as we arrived a bit early wanting to check in. Their customer service number on the website goes to a general hotels booking number with agents that sounded like they were in another country. The other number we had for the hotel itself goes to a voice message at all times. I left a voice message but they never called me back. They did text that they had our reservation and to let them know if we had questions. I texted them to ask about early check-in and they never replied. The cottage we had was on the lower floor, we've always had the ones on the upper parking area before. Although the views were great, it was also like being in a fish bowl, there were tons of people walking by walking their dogs, etc. They could view our every action. Yes, there are window blinds but then you don't get the great views. At night, we did use the blinds. The cottage was not in great shape, the door was warped and we had to practically slam it to get it to close and lock. The kitchen sink kept draining and then filling up again with water. The pipes seemed to be blocked. The toilet worked, but the toilet seat was ricket-y and not well attached. My husband also noticed that some of the toiletries in the bathroom were already half used. They tell you when you check in, that you will not have daily housekeeping, you can go to the front desk for fresh towels and more coffee packets. However, the dining table in our cottage had an envelope asking for tips for housekeeping staff. What a joke. My husband is super kind and left a small tip anyway, but I thought it was super ridiculous. We will never stay at the Ester Lee again, don't waste your time and money. read more

I had a torn meniscus when we were booking a room. The staff was so sweet at making sure I could get into a room that met my physical needs. They doubled checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. The bed was comfortable and our 2 bedroom small house slept the 5 of us comfortably. You know how airlines through the years have made seats smaller, meals obsolete and the customer service a whole lot "less" until people just erupt in frustration? We think that's been happening at the EsterLee the past few years. Here is our story: Our family has been coming to the EsterLee since 1999. Every life event, holidays, birthdays, graduations and anniversaries...we book cottages. We have been so happy with this place but we've definitely noticed a change the past couple of years. This past week (4/7-4/9 2025) , we stayed in #231, a 2 bedroom Cottage for 2 nights. It's important to note that each room/cottage has a different layout and each has their own quirks. We always thought this was funny and charming, until it wasn't. First of all, as we put together our trip, it was difficult to reach the front desk to make a reservation and they were clearly very busy once we did. Before we arrived, received a text saying if we were going to arrive past the window of 8pm to let them know. Apparently, nobody is there after 8pm. Otherwise check in was 4pm. When we arrived, we were given a sheet of paper that stated housekeeping wouldn't be checking in on us (for 3 days?) and if we needed anything to call the front desk. There was also the code to the internet. We realized after 8pm the internet wasn't working. We also looked around for somewhere to plug in our phones and discovered only 1 out of 4 outlets worked. The bathroom plug in was broken too. The outlets that worked had a bunch of things already plugged in with an outlet extender that seemed super sketchy and a fire hazard. The next day my husband tried to call the office and nobody picked up. So he walked directly to the front desk. He complained about the internet not working, and the lady behind the desk said it was a new system and they don't know if it's working or not unless someone complains. That she'd let the internet company know so they could fix it. It NEVER worked. For 3 days. Upon checkout, we mentioned how unhappy we were about the internet not working and the lack of outlets that functioned. The lady at checkout asked which password had we used? The one on the sheet of paper they'd given us. Seems there was ANOTHER password we should have been given. When my husband (honestly one of the most mellow people I know) said he didn't feel like this was right and how he felt pretty let down by these inconveniences, the front desk lady simply shrugged and turned away. She didn't ask how they could make it up to us or apologize. She didn't offer to take anything off our bill, like the dog fees. In short: We spent $512 and didn't have housekeeping. We didn't have access to electrical outlets to charge our phones. And we didn't have internet. Oh, and nobody is at the hotel past 8pm, which seems like a disaster waiting to happen, especially with those overloaded electrical outlets. The scrimping on certain things like personnel is not okay, especially when we noticed they'd splurged on new personalized EsterLee coffee mugs. Maybe they're spending their money on the wrong things? Our friends had stayed (for the first time) in another cottage and said they only had enough hot water for 1 shower, so they flipped a coin who got to shower first. There was also a tip envelope for housekeeping, even though the housekeeper never showed up (again--3 DAYS). They didn't tip, but felt bad they didn't. They're nice people and said they'd never stay there again. We were pretty embarrassed that we'd recommended this hotel to them for our trip together. It's been 26 years of relative bliss, EsterLee but we may have to break up. We tried and tried but some things are just too much to overlook. And we are pretty damn sad about it. read more

We stayed in Cottage 6 - a pet friendly cottage with one queen bed and two twin beds. The room with the twin beds is down a fairly steep set of stairs with a wonderful view of the ocean. If you are traveling with young children, I could imagine them possibly being afraid to be so alone downstairs. What I liked about our cottage: - it was CLEAN! Did not smell musty like many of the older motels along the coast seem to smell. - the VIEW! Unparalleled views. So peaceful to sit and watch the ocean. Our dogs spent a good portion of their time staring out the window. - Dog Bedding. Ester Lee provides you with bedding to place over any furniture your pups might relax on during your stay. They also provide a dog towel. Full Kitchen - stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, pots and pans and utensils. - Gas fireplace is very cozy. Bedroom - bed was comfortable. Room is a bit cramped. There are pocket doors to close the space off from the rest of the cottage. There is a closet but no dresser. Bathroom - no outlets in the bathroom! I had an extension cord charging/outlet cube so I was able to plug my hair dryer in the kitchen and barely reach the bathroom. Overall, this was a great stay and fit our needs for a weekend getaway with the dogs perfectly. read more

We had a great weekend. Positives: The Ester Lee has an amazing view, great location and super friendly staff. The place was spotless, the sheets and towels were clean and in good shape, the beds were comfortable. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage. The bathroom was so small the light switch was literally in the shower, but the main space was very roomy! Negatives: We had a room with a kitchen which was stocked with 3 spoons, 2 forks and 1 table knife. 3 plates, 3 bowls and 2 small plates or saucers. No serving dishes like a large bowl for salad. There was 1 actual wine glass, but we had 4 coffee mugs and 5 glasses, so we were able to make do as far as beverages went. My sister had her own room and the shower faucet handle fell off in her hand so she had to use the shower in our other sister's room and the Ester Lee refused to give her any sort of refund, not even just a partial one. Both of my sister's rooms had windows that were too cloudy to allow them to see the spectacular view. My sisters' rooms had deadbolts, but ours did not. There is definitely a need for some TLC. read more

We had a 2 night stay in a 1 bedroom unit with a small kitchen, a fireplace and a fantastic view. There was ample parking and easy access to our unit. When we first got into the unit we were very impressed with its spotless condition and nice layout. We didn't do any cooking but there is enough stuff to make it possible to cook something. The bathroom was nice, good water pressure but the room heater did not seem to work, there is soap, towels, shampoo and conditioner. The fireplace is a gas stove and while it took awhile to figure it out it did work and took the morning chill off the room. The living room is large and has a couch, two easy chairs, a small table with 2 chairs a tv and a dvd player. There are movies in the office that you can use. They also have a small selection of books to take and a bunch of puzzles. The view is amazing and we sat with a glass of wine and enjoyed it for hours. We will probably try it again. read more

Cons: The unit we stayed in was 1970s funky and not in a good way. I got down on the carpeted floor to do some stretching because my lower back bothered me and the carpet reeked of urine, not just in one small area, but over the whole area of the carpet where I was doing my stretching. It was super hot in the unit when we arrived and there was no box fan to get air circulating. Once they brought us a box fan, it was filthy. Pros: the view from our windows was very nice and the property is positioned really close to the water. Everything other than the carpet seemed fairly clean (kitchen and bathroom surfaces, linens). I don't think we will return. The cons outweigh the pros on this one and there are a lot of other properties to consider. read more

This place is a total gem. Stayed in the studio style room and it was everything. Absolutely breathtaking views. The woman who checked us in was so nice and cheerful, very welcoming. The room was very clean, and it was a peaceful environment, meaning no riff raff or shady things happening around. Which to me is a plus while traveling. Perfect for storm or whale watching, and I found that beach access was just a short walk down this little hill that had a sign saying "dead end" so that worked out for an evening walk on the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils for cooking and eating, as well as washing the dishes (e.g. soap, dish cloth) I would recommend bringing a non stick skillet if you're picky about how you cook. It was not a big issue for me, but that's the only pro-tip I could come up with in leaving a review. I'm not sure what these other reviews are about but I'm being very honest here, the room rates are very reasonable and it's great accommodations. Sometimes I feel like people are just trying to find a reason to complain, and maybe they should take an introspective look at that, it's gotta be tiring to be in that mindset constantly. read more

Refused to switch rooms (the motel was pretty much vacant) instead they gave us a key to another room to take our showers. Felt like we were camping! Room was old, dirty and the carpet smelled! Horrible customer service. They simply did not care and told us to complain to 3rd party who we did our booking through! No access to beach. This used to be one of my favorite places on the coast, but apparently the ownership changed hands since the last time I stayed and I will NEVER be staying here again. Not only did they fail to note I need a room on the ground floor due to a disability after promising to book me a specific room on the ground floor for this reason, the room they reshuffled us to in a last minute scramble after placing us in one up a steep flight of stairs I couldn't climb was without heat. The room was 57F when we checked in at 3pm and we finally gave up at 9pm when the temp dropped down to 56F after repeated requests for them to fix it were ignored. We drove over 2h back home the same night. Valentine and birthday celebrations completely ruined. A manager called me the next day promising a full refund within no more than 10 days. That was Feb 16 and I haven't heard thing one from them. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company instead. Do not give these people your business OR credit card number. read more

Idyllic spot with expansive ocean views and easy beach access. The cottages are not brand new but they are extremely well-maintained and clean. The bedding is soft and super warm and the mattress & pillows are comfortable. Our cottage had a gas fireplace. It was pretty and did a lot to warm the room! The staff were friendly and helpful. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in demonstrating good customer service. Our room had a full kitchen. While we didn't do any cooking, it was nice to be able to bring food back and eat it on real plates. We also grabbed a bottle of wine from Safeway and the room was equipped with a corkscrew and nice wine glasses. I will say that the tap water is a little funky. No fault of Ester Lee's, but the water tastes weird. So I would suggest stocking up on some filtered water before your stay, even for making coffee in the morning. The views are truly stunning, and it's amazing to listen to the waves all the night. We were treated to an impressive lightning storm out over the water in the middle of the night. The beach below Ester Lee is not crowded at all either so it was a great spot to go for a run or a bike ride. read more

The room had a funky smell and the WIFI was useless. The kind of people who stay here are more like skid row residents not vacationers. We've been staying here for years, but time hasn't been kind to this hotel and it really shows. Carpet in the suite is dirty, windows are filthy, couch and chairs have dirt on them. I hated going outside since I would have to wade through the trashy people to get to the car. No thanks, heading to Cannon Beach next year with people like us. It's really too bad this hotel has gone down hill since we spend at least 5 days here every August. Unfortunately a new hotel will have our business from now on. We have stayed here a number of times, but this time we were disappointed. On the positive side, housekeeping does a good job delivering a clean room & checks daily to see if you need any supplies. One thing we discovered this trip is that we paid a premium price for a lower level unit with no privacy. The only room not visible from people passing by is the bathroom, which has no window or fan. Minimal upgrades are made at The Ester Lee. A couple of examples: the stove is ancient, the kitchen is minimally supplied- a couple of cheap pans and no mixing bowls, a pathetic toaster; there is only one side table in the bedroom although there is room for two, and there is no dresser, let alone a luggage rack. We brought, to the attention of the office, that the fireplace did not work. As far as we could tell they never came by so we gave up. We later find out that the thermostat control, which operates the fireplace in other units, does not work the same in this unit. One is supposed to use a hand held controller which we never found. The telephone did not work. Quite disappointing as The Ester Lee has potential it is not realizing. read more

My partner and I booked a weekend away in room #1. We were so excited to cook some delicious meals in the kitchen and stare at the ocean. The first day and night were spent whale watching and enjoying every moment - but the second night everything changed. I woke up at 2am to go to the bathroom and of course, I took my phone with me. When I turned the bathroom light on I saw a strange bug crawling across my phone screen. I immediately flicked it off and proceeded to google the mystery bug. A quick search identified it as a BED BUG. I woke up my partner and we immediately checked the bed. Upon our search, we found the fecal / blood stains left behind from bed bugs, multiple young bed bugs crawling across the sheets and pillows, and at least 2-3 more full grown bed bugs. After running back into the bathroom to vomit and cry, we tried to figure out our next move. Since management does not have a 24 hour emergency contact number, I could only leave frantic messages and hope for a response when the office opened at 10am! From 2am to 6am, we packed our belongings into garbage bags, took showers, and even cleaned up our dishes from the nights' meal. As soon as the sun was up, we loaded up our car and headed home all while worrying about what we were bringing with us. We ended up throwing away over $500 dollars in clothing and shoes just to be safe. Yes, the motel refunded our stay in full but still, I do not want anyone else to go there and unknowingly bring home bed bugs!!! Management promised that room #1 would be closed and the issue would be resolved. So if you can book it now, you are not safe!!! The owner / manager also tried to make the lame excuse that since switching to online booking, they are unable to control the "types of people that come through". Please proceed with caution! Wifi is great, the room is super clean, quiet, and comfy. Check in people very nice and friendly. You could go down to Newport and pay $250 for a room smaller than this. This place, under previous ownership, was lovely and funky. (Funky in a very old, tattered but clean and reliable way. Now it is just yuck.) Like other loyal Ester Lee visitors, we would reserve favorite rooms and feel right at home for years. NOT anymore! While they say some rooms are equivalent- they are not. Hence reserving specific rooms. A practice which has been upheld for decades. NOT anymore! We reserved our favorite room and made reservations based on this room's availability. We even confirmed the night before and the front desk said, "Yes, we have you in room #xxx!" So, when we checked in and we're told we were in a different room, equal in price (but in no way in quality- with a creepy basement second bedroom) We were so bummed out and a bit pissed off! What a wonderful experience and truly the best hotel I have stayed in! Room #205 Ocean view...You can open the window and hear the waves crashing all night long. There is a fireplace-gas and wood but we didnt use it. Fridge, Microwave, Great warm shower. There is housekeeping. Free coffee, a hair dryer, complimentary shampoos and soaps. 2 swivel chairs that could face the ocean or the side where you could lay in them and watch the amazing LC sunsets. There are movies for rent in the office because each room as a dvd player, I was looking for spooky old horror movies and didnt see any so we watched Dark Shadows (The old classic show) instead and with the waves crashing in the background it was surreal. I can speak highly enough about this place! I liked it so much that in a few months we will be staying there again, hopefully in the same room and I plan to stay there at least once a month for a few days when I get moved to Lincoln City, Im adding it to my dice list folks! The hotel is NOT new, its been around a while and that just adds to its beauty and charm, the important thing was comfort, cleanliness and the price and for what you pay, its very worth it! Three weeks after a 2-night stay for $541 we discovered an extra $400 charge on our credit card from the Ester Lee. When we contacted the Ester Lee, in writing, we were informed that we were charged $375 for a broken chair and $25 for cleaning. I responded that the chair was broken when we entered the premises and we left the unit clean, emptying the garbage and stripping the sheets from the bed to make cleaning easy. What we find particularly galling was the fact that there was no communication about the extra charges or concerns about the room for three weeks, and then we saw the extra charge on our credit card. We have stayed at the Ester Lee many times over the years, never again. The units are worn and the furniture is Goodwill special. We will be seeing them in small claims court in Newport, OR unless this is reversed. read more

Overpriced and overrated. We were really surprised that one of our hand towels was literally a rag, torn to the size of a hand towel and carefully placed in the towel rack. Although we specifically requested a pet free room, it was clear that this room had indeed been used for pets. A barking dog was in residence in the room next door. read more

Older motel but very clean and rooms with outstanding views. Quiet and plenty of free parking. WiFi is good but it cost extra if you want video. Good place. read more

Two hours away from home is our new favorite getaway spot. My wife fell in love with the room (#212) which has wall to wall windows facing the ocean. The rooms are very well kept. I have to admit we have not spent much time outside of the room. We spent most of our time looking out the window and enjoying the view. My only two gripes are that there is no balcony and the Wi-Fi comes and goes. We will most definitely be back. read more

Excellent value - rooms have fantastic view. This is the place I like to grab my puppy and hide away... The Oregon Coast is incredibly romantic in that rocky, stormy type of way. This is the perfect place to watch - from the comfort of fireside. Keep in mind - the accommodations are very modest. Reminds me of the Early 1980s. I like to pull up 2 of the chairs to the window for a game of cards... and Outlet shopping is close by for when I get antsy and need to get out. It itsn't fancy, in fact, it's quite the opposite. For the price, you can't beat it. Mornings are filled w/ walks (or chasing after dog) on the beach. I miss it already. read more

Had high hopes for our stay here, I had stayed before in the cottages and I remembered those times as wonderful. We stayed in the newer motel section and the view was nice, however the windows were so old and broken that the wind just blew right through extremely loudly the entire time. I stood next to the window and even though it was closed my hair was being blown around. It kept us awake all night. We stuffed two wash cloths and a hand towel in there to just be able to sleep. I get that some older hotels have older windows and I was raised going to the beach in Oregon but this was a first for us. May come back, but will ask about the window first. read more

Me and my boyfriend stayed here a few weeks ago and we loved it. The view was amazing and the room was huge. There's lots of windows so you can see the view from the whole room. The table is in front of the window so you can enjoy the view while you eat. It's super quiet and peaceful, even being so close to the highway.The kitchen in our room was big with a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, full sized refrigerator, tons of cabinet space, dishes, every cooking utensil and kitchen items you need. They thought of everything. Our room was the cleanest hotel room I've ever been in. I have OCD and the detailed cleaning is well above my standards. Especially for the price which was only $10 more than the motel 6. We will definitely be staying here again. read more

This is my 4th time back to the Ester Lee. It is my go-to hotel in Lincoln City. The rooms have decor that's a bit dated, but it's almost back in style and always very clean. The cottages all have amazing views of the ocean. I've stayed in studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom cottages. read more

Our 2nd time here. This time was not as enjoyable. We asked to be moved to a different room, we were told it wasn't an issue and agreed to go out for breakfast and make the change when we returned. (Was told it would be $60+more and we would be homeless for 3 hrs) Here's where it went wrong. The only room left with what we needed was reserved while we were at breakfast, so this was not an option anymore. Mind you we were gone from 8-9am. These rooms are pet friendly, and wow did I get flea bites this time, and the 20 yr old ugly GREEN carpets stink. The ledges outside the doorway were filthy dirty with spider webs and bugs all above the doorway and lights....dogs were constantly being let go poo right outside our patio grassy area(better instructions at check in, and newer legible yard signs..pls..), flies everywhere inside the unit,(maybe due to a dirty large garbage can right next to the front door/window on the door step...and don't get me started with the wifi. $10 charge for any streaming...lmao.. This makes me very sad, since we had such a nice stay a few years ago. It's SAD to see people making $$ and not putting it back into bettering these use to be "cute cottages". Best Western will be our place once again going forward . read more
