Popped into this coffee spot while checking out DUMBO, and it did not disappoint! The line was out the door, but it actually moved super quickly. Plus, the moment you step inside, the amazing smell of freshly baked, sweet croissants hits you immediately. I ordered a mocha latte and paired it with a guava croissant--and wow, SUCH GREAT FLAVOR. Honestly, my only regret is not ordering three more to go. They have seating area if you need to get some work down or a chat with a friend. It is absolutely worth the visit if you're exploring the neighborhood!

Devoción was the perfect final stop for our last couple hours in Brooklyn. We were in DUMBO and needed a place to sit, breathe, and do a little writing before heading out--and this spot delivered. I ordered a latte (smooth), a cortado (bold), a leek and Parmesan turnover to save for the airplane, and a guava croissant for later too--because airport food is wildly overpriced. Prices here weren't cheap either, but at least the options were creative and imaginative, and I was happy to support a local business. Since we ended up staying a couple of hours, I went back for a mocha (I needed a photo for my Substack email next week anyway) and grabbed a bag of coffee as a souvenir. Latte art was beautiful on all three drinks. Truly lovely. Service was warm and friendly, and what really stood out was that the server remembered my name--plus I overheard her remember the name of the person ahead of me who ordered a drip coffee to go. That kind of attentiveness feels rare these days. This clearly doubles as a local hangout and work space. Most seats were filled with people studying or working, and I can absolutely see why. The warm wood paneling, living plants lining the walls, ingenious box planters suspended from the ceiling, and sunshine streaming through the massive floor-to-rafter windows made me want to stay all day. Five stars for Devoción. A beautiful space, great coffee, and the kind of atmosphere that invites you to linger.

Food/drinks: yum and solid, like the lattes & pastries! Atmosphere: soo cute, love the high ceiling & clean restroom! Pretty good amount of seating but usually busy Service: fast! Price: $$ typical for NY

An amazing coffee and tea shop. I had just finished walking the Manhattan Bridge and wanted something cold. I also needed a restroom. I went in and I tried their tea infusion and it was very refreshing. They also had a restroom. The space is beautiful and there are plenty of seats. The baristas are all very friendly. They have a small pastry case. Casual. Indoor and outdoor seating. Please come and greet your own adventure.

I came here for their nitro cold brew, and it was smooth, zero bitterness, and so refreshing it genuinely tricked me into thinking I was doing something good for my body. The space is bright, airy, filled with sunlight and hanging plants. Perfect for reading, typing, people-watching, or pretending to work.

Devoción is easily one of the most beautiful cafés I've ever visited. The space is bright, airy, and full of greenery, which gives it a calm feel right in the middle of the city. I ordered their cold brew and a guava croissant, and both were excellent. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and the croissant was nice and flaky. I definitely like their vibe and what they stand for. The service was great, and although there was a big line, it moved fast.

What a pretty coffee shop this is. Very lovely staff that work here too. And their bathroom is one of the nicest I have seen in a coffee shop! They have an open area in the front where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries with friends and family. They have a wide variety of pastries. I did not get any, I only got an iced latte. The coffee to me was a bit too bitter for me. Maybe if I am back again I will try another drink or of they have a tea or something. But this place is very well decorated and feels cozy.

    Simple, black coffee. Soooo good.

Stopped in for a coffee to see what it's all about. To experience it without any extras, I tried a cup of plain black coffee. This was the smoothest cup of coffee I've ever had. I can imagine being converted from cream and sugar! I took home a bag so we'll see if my brewing skills are as good. Service and the vibe are amazing here. There's great music overhead, with comfortable seating, plenty of tables and an earthy decor.

12 oz "large" coffee and a Nalgene bottle for reference.

If you're on a hunt for darker roast coffee -- that doesn't taste sweet, fruity, light, sour -- Devoción gets closer than most places. (La Columbe still probably a step or two darker). Their store is nice and their counter snacks look tasty. Biggest gripe with Devoción though is that their "large" is small. Like a classic Greek-styled coffee cart 12oz small. For $6 with an added shot, that's kinda not workable as a daily brew.

Cute spot on our way to catch the train. Didn't try the food/ pastries but the drinks were decent. Ambiance was beautiful and surprisingly a quieter spot for the amount of people in here. Service was quick and the kid behind the counter was super detailed in his explanations of beverages... Ended up buying 2...

The cafe is a huge space with ceiling to floor windows and hanging plants. I ordered their parmesan and leek pastry and it was perfectly filled and crisp. I loved the lighting and aesthetic. Would come back again since it's easily accessible!

    Cold brew and chill.

Good coffee and a great pick me up after having a long Friday night out. The cold brew and being able to sit outside and chill fueled me to enjoy the rest of my day in Brooklyn.

A fabulously smooth mocha, delicious banana bread, outrageously amazing guava croissant fresh out of the oven, lush plants inside, high ceilings, all windows, sunlight, lots of seating, what's not to like! 5 stars!!!!!

Got an iced lime coconut latte. Coffee tasted okay, a bit overpriced for the size of drink you're getting.

If you look at the mural behind the cash out point it gives you a little touch of history what once happened within these walls. I ordered the salmon toast. It was a little hard but I like the cream cheese was thinly spread not just thrown in like many places. The salmon was good and the mint tasted fresh. The capers were like slightly toasted and crispy, i've never had them like that before and I loved it. I think the toast was just missing a little drizzle of olive oil on top. To be honest, I think the capers were my favorite part. They were just this unique texture. I've never experienced before. I also got an iced lavender chai latte to go. It was so light and delightful, with the perfect blend of lavender. I really enjoyed this place and would totally come back again.

When you enter there is a bar you can sit at and two large high top tables next to it. As you walk further in there is a lounge with couches and various sizes tables. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Mmm definitely next time. Maybe sometimes after work - sounds like a great wind down.

We tried the melon shaved ice $22 for the large which was a bit pricy but it was quite delicious. We were worried that the large might be too much for two people but honestly we were able to finish it without a problem. The melon pieces were sweet, the ice is milk based so it was creamy and flavorful on its own. We barely used the condensed milk that it came with (and we loved how they put it on the side for us instead). At the bottom of the shaved ice was cereal pieces and mochi which gave a nice different texture. We also tried their drinks specifically their blue lemonade and mango-ade which I thought was just ok. The highlight is definitely their shaved ice. Definitely go for the large as the small seemed much smaller and for double the price, you can get almost 2-3x more. The paneer sandwich was supposedly made with Amul butter, but any charming nostalgic aspect of this dish was removed by the dry layer of ghas-phus above the paneer bhurji.
