Want parts you didnt want ordered? This is the place. Want zero cost estimates- again this.is.the.place. want to hear what they really think about what you drop off- not to you but to people you know??? This is the place. Gossip mill. Lowes is a better option. Yes machines get old, and they get worked. Thats why they're brought there. To be fixed- not SCOLDED ON AN INVOICE. Under a time line to get your *junk machine* back? I've been a customer for over 25 years and have always had great service even on my old Ingersoll tractor and my older Stihl equipment. The new gas additives ( basically welfare to giant corporate farms in Iowa) ruins small engine carbs and I've had them replace a few. I went in this week and they fixed my Husqvarna battery trimmer and only charged me 5 dollars! I'm looking at buying my next farm tractor from them, its nice to get treated well right in town. read more

Tried them twice. Once a chainsaw which took them almost 2 months to figure out they ordering the wrong part. Second time was a power washer which they claimed was an exhaust issue. Again after a month of waiting I took it back. Exhaust was not the issue at all according to another small engine mechanic. read more

Have been buying mowers and snow blowers and having them serviced here since the early 1990s. I've always found the staff helpful and friendly. I especially appreciate their willingness to give advice over the phone to deal with non-mechanical issues (like draining gas out of a carburetor) and for their helpful tips (such as adding Seafoam to gas that has taken on water). It's nice to have a personal relationship with your power equipment service people! I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I first went to this place with an older saw i didn't buy there. It was an easy fix and they fixed it right in front of me, took it out back, tested it, then didn't charge me a cent. He said don't worry about it, it was an easy fix. Since then i've bought my equipment there. I even brought back a weed wacker i bought there because it sounded funny to me. I felt sorta stupid doing it because it still worked just fine. He said it sounded normal to him but opened it up anyways just to be sure. Made me feel much better. And they didn't make me feel like an idiot at all for bringing back a perfectly working tool. It was fine. As for John R's review: I really don't know what he's talking about. Chainsaws don't need special "brand" files. A file, is a file, is a file. They all do the same thing and work the same way. Albiet there are a few different sizes, but they're rather generic. And every time i've gone down there they've had a whole wall of chain sharpening files and tools. Maybe john had his heart set on a file with a Stihl logo on the side? Who knows.... Give these guys a try and decide for yourself. I always leave happy. read more

I bought a Stihl chainsaw here about a year ago. I got a fair price but when I went back to pick up a file to sharpen it with, they didn't have any. He told me it would be about a week. So, I went back in two weeks, still no file. When I called a month later, oopps. still no file. When I finally asked what the hold-up was, he said he kept forgetting to place the order. Then in a desperate attempt to pacify me, he tried selling me an off brand file which wasn't made for my particular saw. I won't go here again unless it's the last place around that has what I need. read more

We have a VERY old Cub Cadet lawn mower/tractor that came with our house. Devon Lane has been our go-to repair place. The pick it up, do what needs to be done to keep it running for one more season, drop it back off, and charge a fair price. Last time it needed to go in, there was something major wrong with the carburetor, and I believe they re-built the entire engine because the parts are no longer available for my 1970-something mower. I picked them out of the phone book the first time, but I will defintiely keep going back. read more

If you want the highest prices of any dealer around for Yanmar tractors and parts sold by an arrogant and uncaring staff, you've found the right place. I honestly wouldn't have purchased a used Yanmar tractor if I knew Devon Lane was the only dealer around here. My most recent parts purchase was from the next closest dealer to Belchertown...an hour away...and they shipped the part to my door for less than I could have picked it up at Devon. Love my tractor but if I have to do it again...I will buy a Kubota so I never have to deal with Devon. read more

I have purchased much lawn care equipment from Devon Lane. Two riding lawn mowers, two push mowers and a weed wacker. Great sales people when your purchasing but when you need service done forget it. After they pick up your mower, it's several days before you see it again and when you call to inquire about it, the girl who answers the phone is snoty and rude!! What kind of a lawn mower shop doesn't keep belts in stock? That's a main part. Who wants to wait 5 days for a belt to come in? read more

All talk no action. On two occasions delivery dates promised came and went with no progress. Quoted prices were double when the bill was presented. Very arrogant owners don't seem to understand what a commitment is. Worth a trip to Orange Saws. The 1 hour round trip offsets the hassles of dealing with Devon Lane read more

Sent a snowblower back twice because they didn't fix it correctly the first time. They put the wrong belt on twice knowing that it wasn't the correct one and then wanting us to pay for the repair again. They never corrected the problem. Would not recommend this place at all. Take your stuff elsewhere so it fixed correctly the first time. Don't understand how you can run a business like that. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Don't have saw chains sharpened at this place " been doing this for 17 years" I was told after complaining about three, never shraped before saw chains I brought to them to get shraped. Waiting 10 days for a phone call, to no avail. I called to find out the progress, and was told they would be ready the next day. Picked them up a few days later tried processing. Let me start by stating I am no lumber jack, but I do know my way around a chain saw,(20" Husqvarna Farm ) not my first processing, so I understand about how a sharp saw chain should cut and not cut, but this place has no business sharping saw chains, they made it dangerous to use. I tried to returning to explain the problem, to only get " wow must be hitting nails" from the condescending representative, whom basically called me a liar when I repeatedly stated "no I did not hit nails". This ended with me leaving with no customer satisfaction, and with the clerk still talking about nail damage. This was not how "small local business" will keep customers coming to buy higher end products, like a mid-range tractor or leaf blower. My advise is to find better customer service oriented company, not from one built on nepotism and lack of customer service training! read more

I purchased a Simplicity Prestige Lawn Tractor with a sub frame for a snow blower in October 2013. Thank God I did. The snow blower is amazing. Very good piece of equipment, but like so many things these days, it is a hunk of useless metal if it does not work! I had a couple of small issues (nobody's fault but my own I'm sure) and one more disruptive problem the day of a large snowstorm. These guys came to my HOME - took the tractor apart - brought it back to the shop - drove BACK to my home AFTER HOURS to get everything back in working order. To top it off they were not going to charge me. They were willing to let me slide on paying for the repair (it was a $13,000 piece of equipment) - INSANELY NICE (I refused their generosity). Tom and his guys are always accommodating. OH - BTW - I had a chainsaw I did not buy from these guys and they ALWAYS get me working. Some dude complaining about a file ?? WTF ? Seriously? These guys run around like chickens with their heads cut off! I can see where a $10.00 file might fall off the radar. Get real. OH - one more thing - I traded a one year old tractor that I BROKE after they had appraised it for the trade-in on the new equipment above. It was serious - bent the deck. $$$$$ - they never charged me to fix MY MISTAKE or screwed me when I bought the new machine. These guys operate the way you grandfather used to - gentlemen all of them - gracious and pleasant always - the customer is always FIRST - best of all they know how to fix anything !!! And they get it done quick and for a fair price. Best guys around. read more
