I went across the road to the local Dollar Tree to get the laundry soap that I wanted because I wasn't sure if they sold laundry soap for those of us with sensitive skin. It was $4.50 for a wash and $3 for 30 minutes to dry. Not too bad. The facility had surfaces from me to fold my clothes and in about an hour my clothes were clean and I was on my way.

At first not a problem, then it became creepy. To the point he used to try to come up behind me and help load my clothes into the dryer. After that, I stopped going when he was there. Until today I needed to wash my clothes during the day. He approached me 4 times during my visit about misc things. I told him I can't hear you I have headphones in and every time he came up to speak to me he then was yelling at me so I would hear over my headphones. He saw one of the machines ate my quarters per usual, at any given time 1/2 of their dryer are broken and eat my money. I had not had a chance to alert the worker because I had to run down my clothes to the other end of the laundry mat to use one of the dryers that was open. He then started to get an attitude with me and said stop walking away from me. That is where things started to take a turn. I told him he consistently is a little too close for comfort when I am in here trying to simply wash me clothes. He was yelling at me now following me around telling me to not walk away from him.....then he proceeds to come up behind me and throw quarters next to my arm when I was standing a folding table. This was the last straw for me. I then started to raise me voice and asking him to back off considering I was backed into the rear corner of the laundry mat. I told him every time I am in here you're up my ass now you're yelling at me & throwing $ at me??? Wtf dude. LEAVE ME ALONE. Mind you their dryers ate $2 of my money between dryers breaking I was throw 4 quarters at me & told to get the f*ck out. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS????? You are lucky I do not call the cops. I have been coming there for years and this is what I put up with? What is wrong with these zoo creatures in public these days. LADYS BEWARE. I called a number of local shoe repair places and Clarke's was the first one to answer that had weekend hours so I opted to give them a try. Initially, I dropped off the shoe and was told I would get a call with an estimate. I dropped them off on a Saturday and had heard nothing by the following Sunday so I reached out via Facebook messenger and left my number. I was called back by Farrell, the owner, and given a quote, a time estimate and an option to pay via PayPal (they don't do credit cards). Once that was all squared away, Clarke's went to work on my shoe. When it was finished Farrell called me to let me know I could pick it up and explained a little about what he did to the shoe. While Bel Air is a bit of a drive for me, the customer service and quality of the work that Clarke's provided means I will be returning in the future.

We needed a little flap of leather added to my son's baseball glove, and after researching online baseball forums, everyone said that any reputable shoe/leather repair place would be able to do it. My husband sent off a message to Contino's along with photos of what we needed, but we never received a response. We took a chance and drove to the shop with the glove and photographs. We were greeted by a pleasant woman and we explained what we wanted. Without even standing up or looking at the glove, the man beside her said, "Oh yeah....I don't deal with those." I looked surprised and he continued with, "I'd have to deconstruct the entire glove and it's too much work." And that was it. I understand that he didn't want to take on the job, but I found his response to be very short and cold, considering that our family made a special trip there because of the lack of response to our initial inquiry. We've always heard great things about Contino's but won't be taking our business there in the future. :(
