I was getting cabin fever sitting around the house over Thanksgiving, so I decided to hit up Windsor to see what I could do with myself. I checked and Devonshire Malls right over the border here, about 3 miles or so. I checked the directory and it had a decent selection of things to check out, so off I went. The parking lot here's atrocious, and really needs an overhaul. Small parking spaces, uneven pavement, potholes and a general mish mash of messiness. NOT a great first impression. It's not the fanciest mall and seems rather dated on the outside. Could use a facelift big time. BUT, walking in it was a totally different story! The inside was great. Very up to date and let me tell you, the bathrooms here are NICE! LOTS of stalls, very cool with a beautiful sink setup with lots of mirrors and room to move around. I will say, the mall was bigger than I'd expected. It's laid out a little different and seems to "fork off" a bit. They have a Roots store here, which I used to love as a kid, but I think has since closed in Birmingham. It was all the rage when I was growing up! They had a cute kitchen store that was going out of business but I didn't buy anything there at all. They had a Hudson's Bay store, but I didn't really like anything there either. The food court here was super cool, large and had a great selection of food to choose from. I secretly wanted to try the Mandarin place but was holding out since I had other plans for lunch. They also had some super nice Christmas decorations up along with a "meet santa" area as well. It was so cute! Overall, it was a decent experience to get some steps in, see what's happening here and get out of the house! read more

Devonshire Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Windsor, Ontario

American over here who is loving the Devonshire Mall! Malls are a dying breed at least state side, so I was pleasantly surprised with this mall. Parking is plentiful but can be a walk depending on where you park. Inside is welcoming and updated in a modern design. Very clean as well. Food court is solid! Tons of options and places to sit. Lots of stores! Nothing too high end but still some good stores to check out. Roots is my personal favorite. Benches throughout if you needed a shopping break. Spent a few hours here both shopping and eating. read more

The Tim Hortons didn't accept my order at 8pm because it was a grill item. Didn't make any sense!!! The mall isn't that nice anyway. Overpriced, and same dying breed of retail stores. The food court is like a middle school lunch room. Limited seating, noisy and filthy. read more

Windsor is my home town. So "the mall" is where all the action was, growing up. Decent mall Overall 3 stars Stores: 4 stars Parking: 0 stars Stores: 4 stars Decent selection of stores. All the necessary ones, plus a movie theatre. Food court decent (it has the necessary cinnabon). Parking zero stars Horrible, absolutely horrible (unless you drive a smart car). Parking spots are extremely narrow, and laneways are also narrow. because of this combination, you have to do a 10 point turn to get into a spot. Even if you back in, you have to go out and in a few times to straighten out. unfortunately, not everyone is considerate to park as centrally as possible, so dings are a sad fact of life. It wouldn't be a big deal if you could park far away, but during busy times, literally all areas are parked in. read more

This mall was AMAZING!!! It is huge! My daughter and I had the best time. There was a large selection of stores, including my favorite, Lush. They also have good food. I got crepes with strawberries and bananas. read more

This mall recently went under renovation and it looks incredible! The parking lot is big, I love the look of the inside of the mall. The washrooms remind me of the ones In Yorkdale in Toronto. I love that they have all the stores as well like dynamite, the bay. Forever 21 and le chateau. The cafeteria is also huge and there is plenty of space to sit there. read more

Growing up, I used to call this mall the 'big mall' and Tecumseh Mall the 'small mall' for obvious reasons. I've been coming to this mall since I was a kid growing up in this city. It has evolved quite a lot since then and now it's going under a 70 million dollar renovation, a new food court where Zellers/Target used to be, and just updating the ceiling, floors, eta. This mall has had most stores I could think of growing up and coming here was almost a day trip, complete with lunch from the ever changing food court, and shopping at those stores you think are so cool to have clothes from as a teenager; one of those being Bluenotes, which I think is in it's third location since the original one I remembered from 15 years ago. The mall is equip with a fast variety of food court restaurants, my favourite being Niko Sushi, which was a kiosk, but is now located where Orange Julius used to be, Chapters is still a staple of this mall, and all your cellphone providers too. New stores are always popping up and getting brands like Sephora and MAC Cosmetics is an upgrade. Compared to other malls in other cities, such as London, as I lived there for 5 years, this mall couldn't (and still sort of) compare to the vast amount of luxury stores in White Oaks Mall and Masonville Mall, but this mall is getting there. Devonshire has essentially all your shopping needs for a city of this size. Parking could be better, but there is usually a lot more spots behind the mall near Hudson's Bay rather than trying to find a spot out front near Buffalo Wild Wings, Chapters, Starbucks and TD Bank; those spots are taken up first. Conclusion, this mall is great. A great place to come and shop for a few hours with friends, family, grab a bite to eat, experience what Devonshire has to offer with it's ever expanding, ever changing stores, restaurants and events. read more

It's a mall! I'm a French teacher in the States, so it's hard to get books in French. That's where Canadian malls come in. I came to Devonshire to go to the bookstore so I could get some French-language books, and boy did they deliver! All Canadian bookstores, even those in the Anglo provinces, have French books available. Parking was easy, navigation was easy from the border (only about a 10 minute drive), and there were a lot of stores in case you wanted to stop and stay awhile. read more

I admit it. As soon as I'm out of the tunnel, my GPS is pointed towards Devonshire Mall. I should know the way by now, though the 401 E or W option always turns me around, since apparently navigating without a pointy mountain or some kind of ocean throws me off at the best of times. But when I come to Canada on a day shopping trip, I will inevitably find myself here. In part, I come to Devonshire out of convenience. Devonshire Mall is Windsor's equivalent of the ubiquitous multi-floor indoor plaza anchored by two department stores found in nearly every major Canadian city. If you grew up in Victoria or St Johns or Winnipeg, Devonshire will be no surprise. In between the Bay and Chapters, the Canadian response to Barnes and Noble-Amazon-defunct Borders (really it's closest comparison), there are any number of shops except the one I covet most: Zara. A girl can wish, right? There is a Mexx, definitely a plus for those of us who can't find one on the American side, and a host of smaller chain shops. What really earns a four-star rating is how compact all the services are. It has a branch of the Canadian post office, a Shopper's Drug Mart for prescriptions or makeup, Timmy's for dosing up on caffeine, and the banks all on hand. For dual citizens like me living on the other side of the river, being able to do all my transactions in one place is huge, especially when I'm strapped for time. Several of the shops are only accessible from the exterior, notably Stitches. Parking near the entrance with Tim Horton's and TD Bank, which leads to the main court, is always a headache and then some. I prefer to park farther out and walk. The addition of a new Target here where the old Zellers was promises to make an elaborate, difficult traffic section even worse in the future, especially because Howard Avenue crosses through a major shopping district. read more

As one of the only malls in the Windsor area, this one was quite a good one. With all the stores that you could possibly need, you could essentially do all your shopping at one place, and stay for some entertainment and food as well. With bigger brand names and department stores, to some more unique shops that you hadn't seen elsewhere, you could find anything you needed. My favourite was always that game shop, as they had some pretty cool stuff to pick up as gifts! With a couple restaurants and a movie theatre, you would find yourself here on more than one occasion. The only downside of this location was that it was quite a ways away from the university, and took forever to get here via public transportation. Easiest route would be to drive yourself and get off the highway, but not every student has a car. Other than that, a mall is a mall. Thank goodness there was one like it in the area to be honest! A good little mall that is starting to show its age. Not recommended for the faint of heart to visit this mall on a weekend, or close to a seasonal holiday. Traffic to get here is awful, parking ridiculous, and crowded, crowded, crowded. Like every mall, it is a magnet for teenagers. Sears as the anchor, with a Target on the other end (although it is closing). Food courts are always crowded and noisey. Vendors in the mall seem to turnover quickly. I've been to better and been to worse, but it really now is the only enclosed mall in Windsor .....so guess where everyone goes to when it's snowing or cold, or raining, etc. read more

This mall is like your average mall. There is nothing really special about it. There is a decent amount of shops, but I could not find anything. Nothing worthwhile here. Maybe they will open a great shop where Target is now presently. read more

Over a million square feet in size? Check. More than 175 stores? Check. Honestly, there's very little to dislike about the Devonshire Shopping Mall (DSM.) From Chapters (Canada's version of Barnes & Noble) to The Bay (Canada's equivalent of Macy's) to more chains and independent stores unique to just Canada, the mall is a shopaholic's (possibly me) heaven. Additionally, there are two food courts. One boasts a Western diet type of foods -- think high fat, high carbs, high chance of diabetes following the meal -- that features favorites such as KFC and A&W. Amusingly enough, the dining area for that food court is right in the middle of mall traffic. making it rather difficult for that glutton to shove an entire cinnamon roll from Cinnabon down his or her throat. The other food court features healthier options such as Yogen Fruz (deservant of its own review later) and Simply Salads. The seating here was more secluded and far from the high traffic areas. Parking is plentiful, and I can't imagine the lots being half full even on a busy day. The multiple potholes leading to the mall, however, are disastrous and impossible to avoid. A pretty boring and standard mall. It has just about everything you need in a mall such as a cafeteria, movie theater, bookstores, and various name brand retail outlets. There's some quality brands in this mall but aside from that there isn't much more to say. read more

Your typical suburban mall. The Devonshire Mall has expanded in the last 20 years. It now has all these little stores, but really nothing that anyone who has been anywhere else outside of Windsor can't find elsewhere. The larger stores like Sears and The Bay men's and women fashions are just so average and dull. The mall has become the equivalent of what the downtown shopping on Ouellette used to be in the old days, so at least there are shoppers at the mall . There's no shopping in downtown Windsor so everyone goes here. But really, the mall is for teenagers and old people enjoying the air conditioning on hot Windsor summer days. read more

Fabulous mall, clean, friendly staff, great stores for all! The food court is full of skylights! I stopped into laura secord for some yummy easter chocolate and stood in a very lengthy line at target for some last minute clear out deals. I also stopped into sephora, I was surprised no sales associate offered to help me, I could have spent a lot of money in there! I would also like to note, the sales associate at laura secord kindly called me a cab and it arrived in less than 5 minutes! Unfortunately the cab driver was a douche bag. read more

Devonshire is a great mall for all your needs. Has Cineplex, more clothing retailers than you can count and it's always worthwhile to hit up chapters while you're there. Anything you could possibly want there's a store. Stores so close down more frequently than preferred but they're almost always instantly replaced. The food court is pretty versatile too. I suggest hitting up the gelato and crepe place tucked away next to the Bay. read more

The mall is great for Windsor and located right in the middle of the city which makes it very accessible for all Windsorites. The mall is always kept clean and well maintained. The mall can add a few stores more stores, expand, or add another floor to the mall if possible. Otherwise Devonshire provides a excellent shopping experience! read more

The atmosphere is clean and inviting. There isn't much wrong with this mall, and I consistently come back.

Literally the only "large" mall in the area, and thats the only reason I still shop here. Theres nothing special and its almost always crowded. They recently opened up a forever21 but it is so bad when compared to forever21s in the states. read more

I always thought the "avoid the mall on Friday nights" tip was unreal but I was there on a Friday night, just to see a movie and grab some dinner in the food court and there were people EVERYWHERE!! Mostly teenagers just standing around talking and blocking the high traffic areas. I think they do it on purpose but Friday nights are also Family Nights at the mall where there are clowns and balloons and face painters for the kids to enjoy until 8pm. I find this to be ridiculous because why would a sane parent take their child to a mall THIS BUSY and THIS CROWDED just to get their faces painted or receive a balloon animal? My suggestion? Have Family Night on Thursday or Saturday to avoid these teenagers. read more

This is such a perfect mall with all the popular stores. Know matter what your looking for you can find it in this mall and its convient to see all the stores. A huge plus side is that the mall now has awesome free WiFi that's fast. A drawback of this mall is that the food court is fairly small and there isn't a wide variety. read more

Whoever designed the mall obviously never thought about Christmas shopppers. The place becomes a zoo.

OK American Midwesterners living in Michigan...if you want sturdy Canadian built winter clothing...well layered, down infused and stylish head to the Sears in the Devonshire Mall, and you will be bowled over with the rugged nordic wear you can find while people back in Michigan still look at thin summery items in their stores. The Canadians, with respect to the weather, have always understood reality better than those of us in the peninsula who pretend it's summer well into November. All major credit cards work, though I caution you on your cell phone plan. Some companies do not work well at all in Canada...mine...Verizon. Need the international plan, I guess. Oh well. The mall itself seems logical, until you discover that large box stores that open to the parking lots and appear to be part of the Devonshire architecture, have no openings into the mall itself. Right. You have to exit to the parking lots, then enter at another point. Once inside, remember, if you get snagged in the food court, be careful. It, too, does not easily reconnect with the larger mall. It's like a huge dead end that twists and deposits you somewhere outside. Confusing. Overall, though, the mall itself is what it is anywhere: someplace to go, walk around, look at products unavailable in the states, then head out into downtown Windsor for good ethnic eats. Be careful with Bridge/Tunnel traffic back to the US. It can take an hour just to cross. read more
