I hope Laurel Park can make a comeback. The food court only has one restaurant in operation and significantly less tables in the center though no one was using them at the time of my visit. Many stores feel like a "revolving door" as there are several spaces available for leasing. The businesses that are there, mostly felt like "pop up options" for patrons to explore. Interesting to browse though not enticing enough to actually make a purchase from. The key players at this mall that would continue to draw customers in are Von Maur, H&M, and Pro Sports Zone. This place used to be, but now, it is a shadow of what once was. It is sad, but telling that we are no longer a mall society by how many businesses have shuttered. I used to come here as a teen and my kids even came here as toddlers, but there is not that much for us currently. Bar Louie was not even open, and I am not sure why. We came here for the used book sale, which was okay, but not enough popular books that you can find at a discount at even Walmart, Target, or Meijer, so I came home with nothing. I would come back for the few open stores, but I would most likely shop elsewhere first. read more

More people should give this mall a chance because there are gems amongst the ruins of closed storefronts if you look for them. There is a movie theatre, Wu Xing Massage (see my 4-star review), AhHa Noodles (see my 4 and 5-star reviews), Bath & Body Works, and Von Maur department store. This mall has so much potential, and I hope it is redeveloped with condos or a supermarket to bring in more foot traffic. Oddly I visit this mall for the Xian noodle restaurant. However, during my last visit I decided to shop around. This mall did not have stores I recognize. Stores appear to target middle income clientele. Von Maur, my first, seems to attract an older crowd. The Northern entrance is closed. The food court looked empty. I had to walk, what felt like from one end to the other for a restroom. Only to find it was closed for repairs. read more

Over the years it seems this mall has become more and more desolate as time goes on. They're still stores around like Eddie Bauer and H&M but many stores have unfortunately closed or left. I did see about two new stores so it seems that the mall is attracting some new business but overall it's In desperate need for an overhaul. Now with all that being said, regardless of what store I've went into I've always had a quick and easy time. Rarely will you find a line, as you'll be in and out before you know it. Since we are still technically in a pandemic I can say that I appreciate it not being crowded here but I do hope this mall picks back up eventually. read more

4-stars seems odd, I just don't want to give it a lower rating. It is sad that this mall seems like it is either in "transition," or it is on a sad path to oblivion. I remember when the vacant land once stated, "Coming soon: Jacobson's and a mall to be built." It was very exciting and this mall once did house Jacobson's, Carson's, the Gap, Ann Taylor, teavana and many more. It still has Olga's, California pizza kitchen, Victoria's secret and bath and body works and Sanders. A lot of little, privately owned shops are popping up. That's ok, but it seems they are here one day and gone the next. And, what will become of the large empty space that housed Carson's? Will it ever breath new life? The saddest area is the totally empty food court. Such a pleasant space that offers no food options. There is a lovely, lonely tea place trying to stay in business, but, sadly doubtful with little to no foot traffic. I do hope that the fact there are hotels in the area, one that was recently built, and a new Panera on the grounds of Laurel Park, that the mall still has life left in it. It is a nice place to walk and shop without the hassle of a huge mall. I would hate to see another mall, in Livonia, disappear. read more

I actually like this mall quite a bit. It skews a little more middle aged suburban so it works for me. It's clean. It's got a decent selection of stores and has a few nice places to eat to boot. That works for me. The B&BW is nice, the Carson's has an excellent shoe selection and makeup counters, Von Maur works for gift giving with their free wrap and ship, Easy Spirit has my shoe sizes. White House Black Market is here too. There is a Coffee Beanery and an Auntie Anne's Pretzels for snacking fun. They have a CPK, a Bar Louie for drinks and what used to be a decent Olga's. Want sweets? They have a Sanders and a Godiva. Happiness. I like that it is small and a bit unique. It works for me. read more

I like this mall a lot. It beats many others by a mile, even though it's not a large mall, by any means. It has a couple of stores and restaurants that we don't have in Flint, like Bubbleberry, Olga's, Teavana and Von Maur, and others that we do, like Bath and Body Works, Bar Louie, Victoria's Secret, and more. It's good for a smaller-sized shopping center. At least most of the stores aren't complete duds. What I like about this mall is that it's so clean and has a nice variety of retailers. It has a nice combination of high and lower end retail names and a serviceable food court, even if it is small by most shopping center standards. Let's get this straight- this is a suburban mall and it probably reflects the needs and shopping desires of its local area. It can't compete in terms of size with large malls, but it holds its own. The stores aren't super exciting, but there isn't a horrible glut of teen-only shops, either. Probably geared to a slightly older, more affluent, 30 year old and up crowd. Plus, every spring it's home to "BookStock," the annual used book fair that spreads through the middle of the mall, winding and snaking its way around to every corner. The wife and I and my dad go every year. It's an annual tradition. I love it. Anyway, I will take any opportunity to shop at Von Maur, which I really like. I don't care how expensive it is or whether there is a sale or not, Von Maur is what every department store should strive to be. read more

Let's be frankI remem-I hate malls, but sometimes I must go for whatever reason and today was one of those days. I remember back in the day thinking that Laurel Park Place was one of the nicer malls. Mind you, the last time I was here was at least 10 years ago, maybe more. I was also living in Ypsilanti and Briarwood was my "go to" mall, and we all know what a dump that place is! So, factor that in. Now that I came back, I wonder "what was I thinking? It's not that nice here." I mean, it's not a dump, that's for sure, but its not what I remember. It's still a middle of the road mall, leaning towards better, but it's not the swanky place I remember. Maybe I've matured, and most likely it's Arizona that's ruined me with how things are with everything being on the newer side. On the positive side, they have a decent selection of stores here, some common some not. Von Mor (whatever that is) Carsons, Bath and body works, etc. They also have a few cute places to eat here as well. A coney Island, and Olga's (YAY!) and a few others as well. Overall it's okay, but its not the fun upscale place I remember. Yes, they keep it clean, and I feel safe, but there's nothing here that excites me to go out of my way to come again. I would probably come again, but only if they were having a special event, not for regular shopping. read more

Laurel Park place doesn't have alot of the "normal" stores that most people shop at. But there are some great and wonderful stores in this mall. There are alot of great restaurants to get wonderful food also. There is a "Parisian" store which seems to be like a "high end" store but it is also always having great sales and sending out coupons to you in the mail! There are some popular places at this mall like :Gap, American Eagle, Eddie Bauer, Von Maur (very high end) and many more! The Parisian store has great sales and coupons and great service persons who work there! You can enjoy resaurants like the food court and what it has to offer, if you are in a hurry for something kind of quick! OR if you would like to , you can go to Olga's kitchen or California Pizza Kitchen and even a Max N Erma's restaurant in this mall. Did I tell you that this place is also attached to a movie theater that is a lower priced theater to see first rate movies! It doesn't have all of the glitz and glimmer of some of the more expensive movie theaters, but you can take your husband to a movie and your daughter all for 15.00!! The popcorn and soda's are also reasonable and there's even a "Coffee Beanery" at this mall, where you can get a great special cup of coffee that come in many flavors! This mall is a bit smaller than some of the others but also it has alot of "class". People come there to do their walking in the cold weather times. They can walk and then sit for a while and have a cup of coffee and visit with their friends because it's a very comfortable place . read more

Laurel Park Place has always struck me as almost an enclosed strip mall more than an actual 'mall.' It's essentially one row of stores, with just a few tiny offshoots to the parking area on Newburgh. It works well if I know just what I want because it's less trafficked than any larger nearby malls. There is a cinema there as well, but if you don't know where it is, you may never find it. After going by Leo's Coney Island and Subway, you go out the door and straight across to what looks like an office building. Oddly enough, the cinema is in there (along with some offices). read more

This mall is ..... unique? Different? Not particularly my forte is more like it. As a whole, I'm not huge into malls. Trying on clothes is a nightmare, as is dealing with parking and other people who don't know how to pay attention to their children. Laurel Park Place is a small mall with a few anchor stores (Carsons and Von Maur) and some other shops that you may see at your usual malls (Bath and Body Works, Express, Hallmark, Victoria's Secret) but to be honest, I would rather shop online than shop here. I found a store I really liked and it already closed. It seems like half of the mall is vacant. However, some highlights of the LPP is their sports stores. 4 of them to be exact. If you're on your way downtown to watch a game -- stop into one of the Pro Sports Zone locations and I guarantee you'll find something to wear! Pheonix Theatre is is located just next to LPP and I highly recommend stopping in for a movie. They recently got beautiful reclining seats and I guarantee you'll fall in love. The prices there are a steal too. Laurel Park Place caters to an older crowd but still has a few gems. Try connecting to their wifi since cell service is slim! read more

Laurel Park has improved over the years, I frequent this place for quick shopping. If your in the mood for easy retail therapy, this is the place. It's clean and has a decent variety of shops. For solo shopping, or just to run in for a item or two... It's a nice experience. I like how all parking is pretty close to the entrances, and most of the stores have online coupons to use. Victoria Secret, Express & Wu Xing Massage (which is next to the movie theater) are my personal favorites. They have a few salons, food options & clothing stores. A little bit of everything. The cleaning staff are always on top of things, and I've always been treated with respect and a smile from every mall employee. For whichever reason, cell service inside the building is almost non-existent... So make sure you do texts/calls before entering & have any web coupons or browsing photos in your phones album stored already. Also... The movie theater here... MOST COMFIEST chairs ever, you can stretch your legs out and cuddle up with ease. Livonia is pretty boring, so I'd say that this place is the highlight of the city. Over the past few years, I've only been here a few times. Since it's such a small mall, I have been here to go to a specific store which is usually Carson's. Recently, I've found my go to place here for pedicures and another for eyebrow waxing. The downfall is that the cellular service is horrible. Can you imagine having a 40 minute pedicure and not being able to mindlessly surf the web? I fought through it by letting the massage chair ease my tension. It has Von Maur, Carsons (previously Parissien), and a whole bunch of higher end stores in-between. For birthdays, showers, Christmas this is my preferred mall. It is not overwhelming like the one out in Novi! Ugh - you get lost in those types of malls. This mall is very very convenient. For a smaller neighborhood mall this place has transformed from what it was when I was a kid and lived down the street. There are a few places still left from the original LPP. Max and Erma's had to finally close its doors but Eddie Bauer, Olgas, Victoria's Secret and Mrs. Field's live on. It's clean and it's been fancied up from when it opened in, like, 1990. I'm sure it'll be a regular spot for the office crowd once the food court is running on all cylinders. read more

It's no 12 Oaks. But that's OK with me. I do love a good shopping trip, but, as a busy working mom, I rarely have time to shop nor get out to 12 Oaks or Somerset. Laurel Park has enough stores that I like to shop at, and also places where my kids enjoy, or that I can get gifts at. With their recent addition of Teavana, I enjoy stopping in for a cup of tea while I'm shopping as well. A few tips while shoppng this mall: You really can park anywhere along the outside of the mall - it's not so big that you need to make sure that you park right near where you need to go. Parisian / Carson's: Don't shop here without a coupon! Go on Retailmenot.com or sign up for their text alerts. They always are offering something. They have great clearance deals but you do have to dig sometimes. Von Maur: My confession: I still shop in the Juniors Department. Cute tops - especially on the clearance prices! Check them out for kids too! They also have great customer service (I would rate them 2nd to Nordstrom). read more

I've been coming here once a year each May for the Bookstock used book sale. This is the latter-day incarnation of the old Brandeis book sale at Tel-12 Mall in Southfield. There are many stores, because, well it's a mall. The mall, though, is horribly laid out. Finding a bathroom is nearly impossible. Incidentally, I discovered that the Sweet Lorraine's in the Mall/Marriott Hotel has very nice urinals. As for the book sale, it is getting more disappointing each year. The offerings are pretty slim, in spite of the thousands of books on all of the tables. The only good thing about the mall is the Sander's hot fudge restaurant. read more

This mall is so meh to me. Mind you, I am not a big shopper but if I were, this would not be the place you'd find me. I live a hop, skip and jump away from this mall, so it is the easiest and closest place to me in case I need to hit a mall-type store. They recently upgraded the foodcourt, but its selections still suck. There is a few seemingly a-okay salons, as well as two anchor stores (Von Maur and Parisian). Like every mall in America, there are pretzels, a Bath & Bodyworks and Victorias Secret. I shouldn't complain too much since they do hold Victorias Secret, the Express and Yankee Candle which happen to be a few of my regular shops to visit. I like that there is a California Pizza Kitchen inside the mall, 'cause as far as chains go I definitely dig it. I just find the mall itself very rundown and almost trashy. For the longest time they offered tooth whitening at one of the cheaplooking stands littering this mall. I mean, really? I have not seen that in a while, but instead now there are so many homemade looking jewelry and knicknack stands its starting to feel like a middle school craft show. read more

Hmmmm very disappointed with my expirerencs with this mall. Although it is a pleasant mall to be in I believe that in this day and age evey single mall should have a fantastic working free WiFi for everyone, for the record the WiFi is this mall is absolutely horrible. I'm an employee there and have been working for about 4 months and I have herd many people complain about how they couldn't get online. Is this era of social media, pictures and texting it is absolutely unexplainable why they can't offer good WiFi. It is very frustrating to know you can't get a signal. For example: I was woking with a customer and she wanted to show me a particular style of ring her husband wanted. Now this ring was 2,500 and would have been a great collection for her but because she had absolutely no signal and the malls WiFi sucked she wasn't able to show me the ring. The mall is clean and looks good but without Wifi your like a dinosaur in this high tech world. You should be able to afford the best WiFi around especially with all the rent money you make from all the tenants that work hard every month to make ends meet. read more

Boy has this mall changed! And for the better. I worked at a store here in high school and I wish some of the stores had been there when I worked at the mall. They have so many stores to choose from including a couple great sports stores to pick up your college or pro sports items. Most of all I love the food court they put in at the end of the mall and tore out that silly health spa that was there. Such a waste of space and now is more useable. Sadly with my dietary restrictions I can't eat most of it but in high school it sure would have been nice. I have always enjoyed how much calmer this mall is than say 12 Oaks. 12 Oaks on any day that ends in "y" is a giant anxiety inducing mess. I tend to stay away from malls because they are just so crazy and people tend to mirror that crazy. However, even when LP is busy, it's so much calmer. Plus it has Max and Erma's. Just got back from Laurel Park after going to the Bookstock Book Sale event. Happens every year there and is a fundraising event. Glad that the mall hosts this event. Tens of thousands of books to peruse. Leftovers go to Salvation Army. Lots of titles are recycled year to year but still plenty to choose from. Agree with other reviewers about all the kiosks in the halls, very crowded and distracting. Not too many sell goods I am interested in. It is clean and updated and close to home. Quite an average mall with not a lot of good stores. A few staple brands but nothing to make the trip here for. I do love their book sale that they have in the spring and enjoy it was attached to Phoenix. Made for a great date idea when my boyfriend and I were in middle school! LOL read more

Laurel Park Place is my grandmother's favorite mall...lol. I used to go with her periodically when she wanted to buy me shoes from Parisian, her favorite store. This mall is really small, and it is shaped narrowly. The main department stores are Parisian and Von Maur (which happens to be one of my favorite department stores). Of course, the Limited Brands are here, Talbot's, Gap, Eddie Bauer, American Eagle, Brookstone, etc. There is also a Olga's Kitchen, Max & Irma's and California Pizza Kitchen to eat.... no food court here. The clientele here is more of an older crowd, I really don't see too many young adults in this area...which explains why the stores have a mature vibe to them. Because the selection here is mediocre, I hardly ever make a trip out here. But if you are in the area, at least check out the Von Maur. read more

When I'm in the mood to just stroll along and maybe catch a meal I stop by Laurel Park Place. It's definitely not my first choice in shopping but the environment is much calmer than your average mall on a Saturday afternoon. This mall doesn't have a wide selection of stores but the stores they do have a really great. Von Maur is my favorite. They carry most of the brands I like. This is a pretty cool place to shop for Christmas as well. It's not as hectic as the other malls. It's crowded but not crazy . On a rainy afternoon this is indeed the best place to be. read more

I used to like this mall a lot more. It is a small mall, but used to be mostly nice stores. They still have a number of good stores, but the explosion of stands in the halls makes me crazy. I don't like people soliciting me as I'm walking through, plus it makes it over crowded because there is limited walking room because of them. I went to Laurel Park Place to make a return for an online order at Limited. When in arrived, I was quite surprised how empty the parking lot was. Overall, the mall is rather small with two anchor stores (Von Maur and Carson's). There are quite a few sports/athletic team related stores. There weren't many stores that I was personally interested in which was probably good for my wallet. :) I feel like this mall caters to an older shopper who enjoys Christopher Banks, Chico, etc. The mall was clean and easy to navigate. read more

Discovered this place over a year ago after I bought a groupon for Phoenix theaters but had no desire to explore it cuz it just appeared dead and I didn't recognize the 2 department stores there (I'm fr CA, FL & NY). I moved to northville 3 mos ago so this place is just down the street from me. With it being game 5 two days ago, I was looking for a Detroit Tigers shirt so I decided to stop by on my way home. Some of the girls from work had told me it was a hidden gem and they were right! There was hardly anyone there so I got to shop in peace & quiet. The stores are all very tidy because of how few patrons there are. Parking is super easy and this place is right off of the hwy. I only wish it had all the same stores as twelve oaks... Oh well, maybe once I explore the dept stores I'll end up liking it even more. read more
