We recently moved and needed a washer and dryer. Huge selection but we ended up with an LG pair as recommended by Jordan. They arrived a few days later and I have happily discovered that they are super energy efficient and I love the smart technology (I can control them from my phone!) There are AI options for wash and dry and overall, my clothes are cleaner and in far less time than my previous washers/dryers! They are large enough inside to wash bedding but they are not large in the outside! There are also steam cleaning options but I haven't tried these yet. Also, I saved the best for last, a special shout out to Jeff K! Somehow the subject of beds came up...we had no idea the DeWaard & Bode even sold beds! Jeff told us about his personal experience and somehow, got my husband and I to lay down and try out some beds.. we are so glad we did! Our new bed has been life changing! We haven't slept this well in years and did I mention price?! Very reasonable! Our new bed has cooling features and fantastic lumbar support. Of course the e had to get new pillows, it's a whole new world! The pillows are designed to your sleep style and some other factors..Jeff can definitely tell you how a bed can change your life! I bought a "new-slightly damaged" Kitchenaide refrigerator at the appliance outlet on Hannegan Road in Bellingham, Washington. Within 2 months it lost the ability to maintain safe temperatures and had to throw out about 500 dollars of food. A repairman came out very quickly to fix it, but he could only get it to run if the energy star feature was disabled. I put two thermometers in it to constantly monitor the temperature and it failed to achieve and/or maintain safe recommended temperatures and I had to throw out a lot of food again. They agreed to take it back with a substantial re-stocking fee of $1500. We observed tiny pieces of egg shells in the crevices suggesting that this may have happened to somebody else before with this "new"fridge. I feel lucky to have gotten rid of it and chocked up the loss of $1500 as a good lesson do not buy a less than perfect " slightly damaged new appliance" from this store nor anywhere else. read more

Though I am sure he was very busy, he said he would dog it until it was done. He did, contacted me right away and conveyed all I requested to the delivery department. Nice, very friendly, dependable, informative, helpful--I cannot say enough good things about him. This is who I would want for my go-to person for anything... Okay, day next. Jacob and Lane came to set up the bed. These guys were so great. They were attentive (chandeliers, anyone? I didn't even think about them...), humorous, kind, efficient and fun to chat with. They were very thoughtful about placement and making sure all was in order. They repeated warrantee information for me. The told me about what to expect about how the bed would settle. Purchase process is smooth, no gimmicks. They're the only dealer in town (I think) that carries the top-line (Reserve) mattresses from Stearns. If you're looking for a Tempur-Sealy product, highly recommended. (Though, a wider range of non-adjustable frames would be ideal. Adjustable frames are definitely the emphasis here.) read more

Outstanding service! Talked with a 40 year appliance veteran who not only answered ALL of our questions but gave us great ideas of what to expect in the future of our ownership. We were able to schedule delivery at the time of sale and let me tell you the delivery service was SPOT ON! Nate and TJ showed up on time and within an hour or so had all of our new goodies setup and running! They walked us through the operation process all the while asking if the location, door swings, etc were to our liking. I cannot praise these young men enough. They made the entire process effortless on our end. Because of this if we ever have any of our remaining appliances go out on us we will be returning ASAP! Absolutely the best appliance purchasing experience I've ever had, end to end. We'd decided that we'd lived with our 19 year old refrigerator long enough, and after researching the heck out of it during COVID lockdown, it was time to make a move and actually do some in person shopping. We started with Judd & Black, which was a bit of a joke, and moved on to Home Depot, which wasn't much better. I knew Lowes didn't have what we wanted, and Best Buy was out, so we walked over to DeWaard & Bode to see what was available. My fears that D&B would be a hard sell place soon vanished...the store is open, light, quiet, with plenty of inventory. Our salesman, Mitch McClean, was very helpful and not in the least bit pushy. He explained the options, critically explained which brands were and weren't easy to get service for, and left us alone. Perfect. We decided on a fridge that Consumer Reports was high on, it was on sale, and in stock...yay! Delivery day: D&B called and texted a couple of days before to give us a two hour window, and they arrived near the beginning of the window. The delivery experience was the best ever! They carefully measured the space it was going into and the doorways, laid down floor protection material, made sure that we saw the unit on the truck to confirm that we had the correct unit. They moved with purposed, but we didn't feel rushed . Unit installed, they took plenty of time to explain the functions of the new fridge, plus what to expect for the first few hours as its systems bedded in. Edgar and Chase were the delivery crew, and they are stellar! Miles above any experience we've had with big box retailers. Something to know about appliances in Whatcom County: they can be difficult to obtain service on, especially warranty service. It took me six weeks to get warranty service on a brand new Bosch dishwasher from Home Depot because some of the local service outlets won't warranty service products that they didn't sell. It's better to buy from a company that also services appliances in house, and DeWaard and Bode has in house service. Hopefully, that's one aspect of the business I won't have to become acquainted with, but if so, I have every confidence that they'll come through just as sales and delivery did. read more

I needed a new washing machine after mine died unexpected last weekend. From the time I entered the showroom through delivery, your customer service was outstanding. Ralph, my salesperson, was quite helpful and thorough in helping me choose a new washer. He gave me a fair price, and was able to accommodate my delivery request. Chase and Jordan, my delivery people, actually arrived much earlier than expected (and well within my requested time frame). They were very efficient in removing the old washing machine, installing my new one and even moving my dryer so as to make it easier for me to do my laundry. I would not use DeWaard & Bode again for appliances. First off they had the washer in stock when I purchased it in the store but 2 weeks later the day before the delivery they called to tell me a contractor or someone else took my washer and they'd have to reorder and wait 2 weeks. So I had to pick a different washer and this Maytag (made for pet hair) is horrible and doesn't clean well at all. I've had Maytag before but they were better than this junk model. You have to set it on deep fill to attempt to get clean laundry and always make the loads smaller. The Whirlpool dryer I didn't find out until I'd already bought it and went to use it that there's NO light inside the drum. That was obviously designed by a man who never does laundry - shame on Whirlpool! I called DeWaard & Bode to complain and they said a Manager would call me back but that was 2-1/2 months ago and no one called me. I would definitely go back to Judd & Black again instead of D&B and the only reason I didn't use Judd & Black was because of limited days of delivery where I live. read more

I purchased a Bosch stainless Steel Dish Washer SHXM98W75N on 08/14 2018 for 1402.07 . This dollar amount included delivery, installation and a 5 year warranty. The five year warranty included the first year covered by Bocsh. I purchased this dishwasher because it was rated as very quiet. When in use we could barely hear it, but we knew it was going because of the red light. The dishwasher sat unused tell June of 2019 because we were doing a renovation. After a few months of using it, I noticed it did not completely drain . It worked so I thought it was normal. The dish rack needed repair and when the repairman came he indicated that that repair was a courtesy to us and was not part of the warranty. The dishwasher went from not draining properly to not working....We called for help and 3 times they came out. (1.) Cleaned out air gap. The service department told me that the air gap was a plumbing issue . I still am not sure if the Bosch Pump was thermal issue and not the air gap.I felt intimidated to call them. The dishwasher continued to have drainage issues but would complete the cycles.. I called them again when the dishwasher failed to work .(2) they replaced the handle. The dishwasher could not function with broken handle. . I called them again for a repair when the dishwasher would not complete wash and rinse cycles. Also the dishwasher had not been completely draining. (3)This time they replaced the door seal. The warranty was over Aug/ 2023 and the fix did not last long. the washer has E-24 (DRAINAGE) code and I have been washing dishes for months. After calling Bocsh, I believe I purchased a lemon. I called the service department to see if they can evaluate the machine to see if a Bosch is worth fixing ..The service says my warranty is over and they would be glad to come out for a service call but I would need to pay! I do not trust them. I was told by 2 different employees that The company did not make any money off me. Sadly my Bosch DW is a lemon and I have no choice but the landfill.... read more

We had a flood on a Friday night caused by the ball bearings in washing machine going out, while running a load of towels. The machine was running while we had gone off to bed. I had heard a loud noise on the side of the house but a quick check out the windows didn't alarm us. He had forgotten his large IPad downstairs and when he went down, saw a "river of water" crossing from the family room into the kitchen. The washer was spewing out water because the gasket was unable to keep turning. We spent hours cleaning up and drying out the laundry room, family room, kitchen, 2 pantries, hallway, bathroom and hall closet (glad we had a shop vac!). We sent up several fans, heaters and put rugs and towels in garage to dry (thankfully we have a shop heater too). Saturday we went to get a washer and dry and Ralph F helped us. We had college boys returning for thanksgiving and needed them ASAP and were able to have them delivered and installed by Thursday. While there I found a great small fridge-over-freezer on sale to replace the big, energy-sucking fridge in the ADU and that was delivered the same day. We were feeling so much better, and my parter had noticed that our vacuum hadn't been doing it's job that well and bought a fantastic vacuum that won't hurt my shoulder! Both sets of guys that delivered the fridge (to my house) and the W/D (to his house) were the sweetest, considerate young men I've had service guys! I swear they take classes being that nice and helpful. There's a lot of service guys twice their age that could learn from those young men! He pointed out that the dryer seal to the wall was not well connected and figured we asked if we had seen a lot of dust? We have but didn't think anything about it. He re-sat that tubing and put heat seal tape on it and now the loads dry in half the time! For months we have been wanting to update our tiny laundry room and replace the full size stacked unit to a compact side by side to utilize as much space as possible. We had searched around at Lowe's and Home Depot but each time we went there (twice in six months) we received no service. Last Friday, the dryer in our stacked unit finally stopped working, so now was the time to renovate the laundry room. My husband and I set out Saturday morning to find a compact washer/dryer unit. I have never really thought of D&B before, but that's where we started. We were immediately greeted by Igor. He swiftly showed us the compact units and 30 minutes later we were the owners of a Blomberg set. Igor was great. Efficient, knowledgeable and genuine. Here's where it got stressful. We picked up the units and brought them home only to realize the washer was damaged. We went in and spoke to Ralph who was very easy to deal with and gave us assurance we would be able to exchange the damaged unit. The following Monday we dealt with Mitch who swiftly exchanged it for a new one. Even the warehouse guy was great. Every single one of these men were great to work with. I will NEVER shop at Home Depot or Lowe's again for my appliances. You simply don't get that kind of service. So far we love our new washer/dryer! Up next...our dream refrigerator. The disappointment is this place could be a winner. Locally owned, huge selection. And given the diminishing quality of nearly all modern appliances, they appear to have filled the gap by providing service. "We Service What We Sell" is the companies motto. Like many local, I relied on this explicit promise of support and filled my home with what I understood were some of their most reliable appliances, and ones that would best fit the needs of my home. But there's a reason there are so many 1 star reviews. The company simply doesn't have the resources to support the products they sell. In the best case scenario it's now about a month before you can be seen. The dispatcher is over worked and there seems no reliable way of communicating what your problem is so that when they do arrive, they can actually repair it. If you are lucky enough to get one of their repair people to show up, they will have little or nothing accurately communicated from the dispatcher or the previous repair person, and so they will order a part which is on back order, there will be weeks or months of waiting, and when you check back there will likely be no accurate record of what you have already communicated or even what the last repair person communicated. It's now September and I've had a dish washer and clothes washer fail in May. More than four months I'm still waiting for repairs on either. (If a landlord delayed repairing a tenants basic appliances this long, they'd rightfully be out of business) Dewaard and Bode simply don't have the personnel to repair their appliances, or even a system that allows you to reliably explain what is going wrong with the product you purchased (even if you are one of their customers, and even if you purchased one of their repair plans.) The frustration shows in their workers, and they often take it out on the customers. I've had one repair person I waited weeks to schedule and hours to appear tell me how rushed they were and walk off before a repair is complete. I've had the dispatcher cancel appointments I'd waited weeks for because I had an emergency and and left them a key to get in. There are a lot of tactics to shift the blame back to the customer that seem well rehearsed. The defects never seem to be the products, always the customer. The miscommunication seems at times to be deliberate. I've called weekly or more during this period, sent emails with videos showing how my appliance isn't performing and the all have seemed to vanish into the ether Based upon a recent bill which exceeds the cost of my appliance which still has not been repaired, excessive billing appears another form of retaliation for asking them to actually stand behind the products they sell. I also have begun to question the quality of the mark-downs in their warehouse, as these seem especially problem prone. I've asked for the history of the appliances I've purchased, and been ignored. Though truthfully I can't tell if the lack of response is evasion, or simply an overtaxed system with unhappy angry workers who don't have the time to respond. In the context of COVID, not having access to appliances goes beyond poor performance. If one is supposed to access hand sanitizer, and wash hands at every opportunity, how is one served if they can't have access to clean clothes or dishes after investing a four digit figure in their appliances? At point of sale I, like many was told, if Dewaard and Bode can't repair a product you purchase from them they'll replace it. That was part of the package I was told I was getting and why I purchased from them. I've even managed to extract the promise of replacement if no repair could be performed from a supervisor in my many communications. Yet after my most recent visit, one I've waited months for, I've no reliable appliances, and now been emailed a bill that seeks to extort me inordinate amounts of money for repeated bungled performances, with a four figure cost higher than any of my individual appliances. Additionally the time I've taken off from work, and lost hours communicating and communicating the same facts over and over again, taking days at home hoping their technician will show up, have long surpassed the cost of the appliances I've purchased. There's a reason DeWaard and Bode's most common review is 1 Star. I was an enthusiastic customer they've turned into another. read more

Stay Away! I preordered and paid a deposit for a portable AC unit for the 100+ degree heat wave and when it arrived I went to pick it up the next morning. They claimed it was stolen because their stock wasn't matching quantity. Stolen by who, your employees? And then as I'm leaving, I see them loading portable AC units into other people's trucks. So mine was the only one that was "stolen???" What I'm taking away from this is they either oversold preorders or sold mine to someone else the evening before. HORRIBLE!!! Installation was efficient. Fast forward to 2018. Sold vacation home and needed to have washer and dryer installed in our WA home. Called and explained what I needed. OK, of course our six month old front loading Maytag starts making bad noises two days before company arrives for the Thanksgiving holiday and there is already laundry backed up. D&B said they'd be out Tuesday. It's OK for now but going to need some parts as soon as they can be had. Exit the service tech... on to the first load and boom.... won't drain and shuts down. It's now late Tuesday. And of course Wednesday going to be crazy already. I did a bit of the Voice Mail thing with the not sure if we can get to it routine. Then I got the service manager. Couldn't have been nicer or more understanding. Had an experienced guy drop by on his way home to have a quick look see. The first guy hadn't plugged the drain pump connector back in. Easy miss, I actually should have caught that myself. Two second fix. Now if it will just hold out until parts or a replacement arrives. I'm glad all my appliance requirements for the last 20 years have been via D&B. read more

Great experience. Called, and they were willing to match Costco's price on a new LG stove. Processed the order immediately and had it delivered and installed in under 48 hours. Installation team was great - very professional. Overall one of the best appliance purchase experiences I've had. Note it was going to take 1-2 weeks to have it delivered by Costco or Lowe's (and Lowe's was more expensive). So a great local company that does price matching and quick delivery! Awesome! read more

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer and paid extra money to get an extended warantee. It started making a horrific noise and it took days to get a tech to come and look at it. After moving all of our food to a relative's house, the tech could not identify the problem. He ordered a part and now it's been 3 weeks since he was here. After numerous calls they finally got the part and scheduled to fix the problem (4 days after they received the part.) I took the day off. Still no tech, no call, and my fridge is so loud at times that it upsets the neighbors, let alone trying to sleep at night. I suspect that they are trying to delay fixing the issue until after our extended warrantee runs out and we have to pay to fix the piece of junk they sold us. read more

I did not receive any service as DeWaard & Bode told me they service "their own customers first". Nice. They pointed out to me that I am not a customer of theirs. Well maybe I would be if they treated me like they wanted my business! I did not ask Costco to refer me to them. If they have an issue with Costco they need to deal with it and leave me out of it! The gal on the phone at DeWaard said to me "why did you buy from Costco and not us"? Really? Maybe because you are rude first and certainly not someone I want to give future business!.. They've lost me as a customer. We've bought appliances and beds before. No Problems. But recently bought a stove.It arrived with a broken foot. Asked to have a new foot put on. Was told I don't really need one. That's ok I want one. Recently have had an issue with the stove beeping, initially at 3 am. There tech ordered 2 kits which were installed on Monday. The oven stopped working on Thursday. Family in town this weekend. When they said they couldn't look at it till Monday, I complained, they responded this was a different problem, not the one they came out for on Monday. Doesn't really mater does it? read more

I called to get my gas range repaired and they said they were too busy to help me and didn't even have any suggestions on who else I could call. I said I could wait my turn but they refused to even entertain scheduling me further out when they were less busy. I didn't buy the range there and so they won't service it. Unfortunately they are basically the only place in town who can repair a gas range of this particular brand so by refusing to work for money they leave people marooned with no one to repair. If they thinks this makes me inclined to buy from them so they will deign to repair my appliances they are very badly mistaken. I will never shop there they were completely unhelpful. If you are that busy then hire some more techs and create more jobs in our community it's not like they are a finite resource. Very disappointed. read more

I've bought all my appliances at DeWaard & Bode. Back in October my oven decided it had enough. Right before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Terrible timing. I went up to De & Bodie picked out a oven, paid in full. I was told there was a wait and it might not get here December or first of January. I knew products were slowed down because of the virus. So I thought ok I can live without it until end December early January. December comes and the installation people were ready to install on December 28, the oven hadn't come. So we decided to make an appointment for early January. The installer called last week again ready to install. BUT DeWaard and & Bode didn't have it still. I calledl them up and said the installer wants to instalthe installer iand will be ready on Friday..... But guess what, another employee also had ordered the same oven, so he delivered "my" oven to someone else. I ordered mine on the 14th of October and this other person ordered eary December. Now I can either take the floor model or wait, since I paid for a new one I don't want the floor model. NOW my oven won't be here till mid March. So now its going to be 3 plus months before I get my oven. I'm hoping it was an honest mistake. I asked DeWaard and Bode, don't you have invoiced connected with an item? No. Don't you have checks and balance? No....Sorry this review is so long, this just happened yesterday. read more
