The doctor was supportive and approved the help, demonstrating kindness in the situation. However, when I called the office, trying to get help for my mother, the office person was unprofessional, displaying rudeness, frequent interruptions, and a lack of compassion. This person claimed the Dr did not write an order, even though he told my mother, with my brother in attendance as a witness, that he approved her getting an aide. If he did not write it down, then the office person is to go to the Dr and ask for the order. Simple as that, but this person refuses to do even that. Every day that passes leaves my mother vulnerable to a fall, severe injury, even death. She is in constant pain, barely able to walk, crying due to the pain and frustrations of the ineptness of this office person who is too prideful to ask the Dr for the order. Generally, doctors' offices are supposed to work with the patient in securing an aide through their insurance. But this person refuses to do even that, instead claiming the insurance company gave two agencies that did not work in the state. However, I doubt that since the insurance company does know what state my mother lives in. Moreover, I have offered this person the agencies that I have contacted that do provide non-medical aides and accept my mother's insurance, but this person kept interrupting when I tried to give them that information and claimed that no agency in the area provides that. Untrue. It is a shame that there is such a lack of compassion, empathy, or even a kind word to an elderly patient seeking help from what once was a trusted source.

I was (heavy on the "was") a patient of Dr. Sankar for about 10 years. His practice has been going…read moredownhill over the past year or so with a change of front office staff. New signs around the office are petty and gives you an unwelcome feeling. On my last two visits, I was stuck in an exam room for over an hour. On my visit today, March 26, 2026, I waited until the hour was up and walked out informing the staff the doctor has lost another patient. Overall, Dr. Sankar is a good doctor, but upon my first seeing him, I had to correct his diagnosis of my main problem as he called it the polar opposite of what it was, although his treatment was for my condition. However, over the past several visits, he has been inattentive, made errors on where to send my prescriptions and called to reschedule today's appointment. Wait times were generally protracted, but was usually worth the inconvenience. I never received an apology from Dr. Sankar, and to the contrary, he seemed very offended that I complained about the wait time. I believe Dr. Sankar has let his ego interfere with quality care and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend his practice.
