This March (2016), we decided to do a major overhaul of our pool and pool area. I contacted Dex by Terra and another major stoneworks competitor. I wanted to replace about 1,000 sq ft of poured concrete decking with a nicer decking and cantilevered coping. And, I also wanted to replace a 3'-high wood retaining wall and pool house steps with a stone wall and steps. The wall traces around our pool house with garden plantings between the wall and the pool house. Dex by Terra won our business for two very important reasons: o First, Joe Medeiros from DBT, who is a landscape architect, presented a design plan that wowed us. Joe has an easy old-school manner, is a good listener and has great ideas and is good at explaining why some ideas are good and some aren't based on his years of experience. The plan contours of the decking and stone wall were absolutely beautiful. Joe suggested lowering the 30" height of the retaining wall to make it a sitting wall and added a beautiful wave to the wall that wrapped toward the deep end of the pool. Joe also designed an arc'ed bump-out near the back slope of our property that looks out on a vista of conservation land. A really nice touch. The competitor's plan, which we saw first, had no excitement to it, and I had begun to wonder if I really wanted to spend $30,000-$40,000 on a major decking renovation (in addition to $25,000 in swimming pool renovation and equipment/electrical upgrades). o Second, the competitor does not do natural stone work, focusing on Techo-Bloc and other manufactured products. While those products have come a long way, and can look like natural stone, as my wife and I thought more about the pool area, we gravitated toward natural stone for both the decking and the wall. We wanted a stone that doesn't cook your feet, that feels smooth, not rough, underfoot and on your hands and doesn't grab your bathing suit when you sit on the coping and dangle your legs in the pool. And, we wanted something that will still look like new when we sell the house in 10-15 years. We ruled out bluestone, which is beautiful, because it get too hot and is too rough. Joe Medeiros and I discussed travertine for the decking, and the more I read up on it, even though it added to the cost, the more travertine became the clear solution for us. We visited DBT's office/showroom in Hudson, and settled on travertine for the decking, and natural stone with travertine capstone for sitting on the stone wall. How well did DBT deliver? Absolutely stunning! We are ecstatic! Marco Resendes served as the project manager from DEX. Mark was responsive, helpful and resourceful. He came to me with issues as soon as they arose so the masons could keep the work moving. For example, the travertine decking and pool coping, now a few inches higher than the original concrete decking, would abut the last step of the stairs to our wood deck at too high a height for safety purposes, so he needed my OK to increase the downslope of the travertine). And, when I asked Mark what we could do to hide the ugly cinder block foundation of the pool house, exposed when the original 30" wood retaining wall was replaced with the 20" stone sitting wall, he recommended that his masons could create a stucco look which they did - just great work. The DBT team did the demolition work of the original concrete decking, the wood retaining wall, a concrete walkway and bushes in two-three days. The team, led by Jeffrey, were fast, efficient and got tons of material loaded into a dumpster and trucked away. Jeffrey is a pro with the excavator and a good guy. The stone wall masons worked fast as did the team that graded and prepped the decking area with sand and gravel, installed the coping stone along the pool perimeter and laid out the travertine in a beautiful pattern. They are all experienced craftsmen, led by Reuben who knows his stuff. Were there any negatives? None. But, like any major project, it's important to be there as the work gets done. So, for example, the stone wall team began to build the wall by laying the stone in a horizontal fashion when I had asked for the stones to be assembled with a vertical pattern. By being there, I was able to correct that almost immediately. My opinion is that the homeowner has a daily responsibility to keeping tabs on the work as it's performed to ensure you get what you want. The timing: First spoke with Joe Medeiros in early April. Signed a contract on May 20. Demolition occurred at the end of May. There was some wait time as the swimming pool team from Farrell Pool did their renovation work. And some wait time for the DBT team as they came off another project. DBT finished their work by July 13. So, overall, about a 6-week duration from the start of demolition. That's pretty good, especially since they've got a lot of jobs going and there is competition for resources. Kudos to the entire team - highest recommendation!!! read more

Bar far the most horrible experience on a home project I have ever been a part of. We were told how meticulous this company was and how high quality their work was. The quality of work is sub par at best, especially for the price tag which was very high. Dex did such a horrible job they even commented about the poor quality, and had to demolish some of the work they did to complete the work again. The redo was still poor quality with lots of flaws and took over a year with more visits than I can even count. We now have a step coming loose (mind you this project is only 3 years old), which is dangerous and we are going to have to pay someone else to come fix it to ensure someone doesn't get seriously injured. When originally starting the project we had multiple instances where they measured wrong and without us pointing it out, we would've been short changed what the plan was. There were several instances where we had meetings regarding problem areas and they were not addressed. We have had friends ask for recommendations and a few of them were considering Dex, and we recommended they go elsewhere and provided a wonderful recommendation for someone who came out and finished our work at a quarter of the price and far better quality of work. read more

To anyone that is considering Dex by Terra (or has recently hired them for a project), I have one piece of advice for you: RUN AWAY AND DONT LOOK BACK We hired Dex By Terra to perform a backyard transformation (in 2024) following the install of our pool in Framingham, MA. The design phase, led by Joe, was wonderful. EVERY SINGLE THING THAT TOOK PLACE POST-DESIGN WAS TERRIBLE. We opted for a stamped concrete design, which was our first mistake. Every single person from DEX who has been at our house honestly has no idea what they are doing in regards to stamped concrete. When you look at reviews, every positive review is for non-concrete patio's. When it comes to stamped concrete... anything that could go wrong went wrong. 1.) Stamped upper patio area was completed first. Color was wrong. It looked like someone had poured curry powder all over my patio. Luckily, they were able to jackhammer it out and replace 2.) Stamped pool deck - after one winter, there was an erosion that took place all over the patio (think little white specks everywhere). They refused to repour concrete and opted to fix with a stain/sealer. Needless to say, while it did improve the white spots, we are in summer number 3, and it looks even worse now. In addition, the lines of the stamping, drains, and immediate border around pool are all not straight. 3.) Masonry work was shoddy all over entire patio. Big gaps, stones falling out of place, allowing rodents to make new homes. 4.) Supervision is an afterthought. Our project manager Delia wasnt actually managing anything. People would show up whenever, without any prior notification. Questions requesting specific dates and times for workers were not answered. General job site cleanliness was a total DISASTER - with items getting broken (all of our solar lamps), landscaping being damaged (from moving furniture into landscaping while working on patio), sealer hardening at bottom of pool causing white marks, and overall general sloppiness in terms of keeping areas of house clean (like siding, trim, and windows) while they worked. 5.) Zero accountability. I asked numerous times for the owners of the business to come on-site to see the horrendous work that they performed. Joe, Delia, and Tommy (head of ops) came out. Joe agreed the work was sloppy and terrible looking. Tommy didn't have a clue - he could have been a guy they grabbed at dunks to serve as "head of ops" for all we know. Now we are on year 3, they are still doing some work with the same problems and same lack of attention to detail and lack of respect of our time/money/house. In discussing with my wife, we are going to have to bring in actual professionals at some point down the line to remediate the mess that Dex by Terra have caused. Again - if you are considering hiring Dex by Terra for any work, I would run as far away as you can from them. Atrocious company, atrocious support, atrocious attention to detail, and absolutely ZERO accountability. I offer anyone the opportunity to come to my house to see the quality of their work first-hand. Know what you are getting yourself into and know there are better companies out there. read more

Not only did I not commit to Dex by Terra for the project or have an agreed upon contract with Dex by Terra, the proposal they submitted to the town for the permit showed the pool in the front yard... 9 feet from my street!! Zero stars ... Dex by TERROR!! I've been dealing with this company for the past 2 years and they are still not finished with my project, a pool deck and landscape in my backyard. I've had issues with every single step in the process! My project commenced 4 months later than the contracted commencement date. And in between the 4 months there was zero communication on their behalf. Their admin told me they booked over 100 projects in the summer of 2021 ... when material lead times significantly increased and they lost much of their labor force during the Covid 19 pandemic. Terrible planning on their behalf. I paid a down payment upon signing a contract 8 months prior to commencement date and received an extremely heavy and uncomfortable amount of aggressive pressure from their team for paying the down payment or I would "lose my spot on the schedule". I come to find out that there is no schedule and work is hap hazardly completed. Their team came out to take measurements of the back yard 8 times prior to the project commencing which left me feeling uncomfortable and not confident in what they were doing. I felt like I was the general contractor of the project, checking in with them multiple times per week from start (November 2021) to where we are today (not finished) My pool deck was poured toward the end of November of 2021. Fast forward 4 months later to the spring of 2022 and I have 4 long cracks in my pool deck (longest crack is 25 feet long). I was told that they can't repair or do anything to fix them. So I am stuck with a cracked pool deck? This should not happen with a new pool deck! I now have a total of 7 long cracks in the deck and 4 cracks in wall capstones. Less than a year old. I had steps built along with retaining walls constructed (Again, both finished in late November of '21), and on 4 separate occasions in the spring of '22 entire steps and the tops of the walls completely came off. I noticed they were loose and could pull them off with one hand. This was an extreme safety hazard having children around, with loose wall and step caps weighing more than 50 pounds each. I also had to have them come back in the spring because they didn't finish the back of the walls, and left it looking like unfinished concrete cinderblocks. In the retaining wall construction, they added a portion of the retaining wall which wasn't in any drawing that I saw and invoiced me $20k for a change order. They are crooks! Again, aggressively demanding the money immediately or the project would cease. A number of plants were installed in the both the front and backyard as part of the landscaping in November / December '21 which hadn't grown back in the spring/summer of '22. 36 plants were dead to be exact and needed replacement. Outdoor lighting was installed. Dex had to come back 5 separate times to fix as the lights wouldn't work after a month of install. Then, a few months later 1/3 of the lights stopped working. They came back to replace those lights and installed an entirely different light which doesn't match the rest of the lighting landscape. Had to come back again to replace the lights that didn't match the others. I wanted them to put in artificial turf in the pool area and it's still not complete and it's been a complete debacle and headache. It came to a point where I was writing daily emails of progress and what was left to be done with action items and pictures. I called them daily to get schedule updates and to schedule a meeting with ownership, however ownership is no where to be found. This was a SIGNIFICANT investment and to receive this unprofessional execution of the project and extremely poor workmanship is unacceptable and very disappointing. While it may seem unnecessary to spend the time and money on a proper pool design, I can assure you that you will end up saving money, time, and aggravation in the end. I wish we had been connected with Dex by Terra at the start of our three-year pool project (2018-2021), but thankfully, they found us in the eleventh hour. Joe Medeiros was awesome to work with and created a design that turned our backyard into a residential resort. Without a plan, we were ready to move forward with a simple retaining wall, paver patio, and hot tub surround. What we got was nothing short of spectacular! The look, the flow, everything was just perfect for the space, our design aesthetic, and our budget. And it was easy to make adjustments as we went along. Although we used our own mason and landscaper to complete the project, it can be difficult to find these craftsmen which makes the full-service offering of Dex by Terra even more important. Even if you only work with Dex on design, it is worth the investment of 2% of the total budget to get a proper design rather than winging it. You won't be disappointed! read more

After interviewing a number of firms we decided to hire Dex to do a patio renovation around our pool in 2016. We had a positive experience in the showroom and were very impressed with the design and vision. Unfortunately that is where it ended... We were told that our project manager would be onside throughout each phase of the project to ensure each step was done according to the plan. This never happened (see below). Upon beginning the work, a demolition crew tore up much more of our yard than what was needed. They dumped all of the waste from the project in a good area of grass away from the pool which caused us to have to replace our entire lawn. They also tore up most of the irrigation system in my back yard which was unnecessary. Our "project manager" was never on site and the crew that performed the work had no idea on the design and did not pay attention to the plans and the work being performed. I had to point out numerous flaws in how the forms were set only to have to explain over and over how the correct forms should be. I should have stopped the project at this point given the lack of attention. When it came time to pour, this is where it really went south! I came home to a poured patio with a drain that was set crooked and did not align correctly with the stamp pattern. It looks horrible and cuts diagonal across the patio. I demanded the patio be redone (see more issues below) however the owner would not correct the issue through redoing the patio. The owner did provide a slight credit for the mistake on the drain. The stamping came our horrible. There are blemishes all over and it appears that the stamp pad was pulling the concrete. To correct this issue they added patching which looks even worse. There are also areas that are stamped very hard leaving significant imprints. Again looks horrible. I have cracks all over the stamping imprints and there are chips in the patio. When cutting in the stress joints to help prevent cracking, they chipped a number of areas causing concrete to break off. They also didn't cut enough stress joints so the patio began cracking after the first winter. Large/long cracks. Lastly the color is not holding up. We were going for a nice light tan look and now the patio is pitted and faded white. The owner of the company inspected the job on a number of occasions and agreed that the product was not good however redoing the patio was not on the table. It was patch job after patch job to try to correct the issues. I would not recommend this company. They appear to be very professional however my experience was far from it and now I am stuck with a patio that I know is flawed and will only have to be replaced. After much debate, the owner agreed to extend my warranty, perform a seal, and come cut the additional stress joints that are needed. The seal job performed was poor and the stress joints still have no been cut. read more

A project of this scope needs someone that can not only deliver but share the vision we have, make suggestions and/or changes at a moment notice, have patience, be there when you cannot, to be respectful and communicative and be there for the duration of the project. We received all of that and more, our project manager, and so many others, who oversaw and worked on the entire project exceeded our expectations at every level, the tile and stonework, the overall craftmanship and level of detail is exceptional we could not be more pleased with the outcome. Very very disappointing. We were going to redo our entire backyard/pool area. Joe, the architect/designer came to our house to look and take measurements. He had great ideas and we loved it, he was very friendly and we thought, wow, we got lucky. Guess what, we never heard back from him with a proposal. I called him several times, no answer, I emailed him, no response, I called the office and the lady on the phone apologized and told me they are backed up but she will make sure joe will get back to me. Nothing. With that said,NEVER NEVER WORK WITH A COMPANY WHO DOESN'T RESPONSE, bad sign. If I could give them a 0 star I would but it's not an option. read more

Our experience with Dex started promising with a good project meeting in their showroom, good ideas for the pool and patio we were intending to install and a pleasing design proposal. Once the actual work began we were less than impressed and it quickly spiraled from there. Summary of issues: 1. Incredibly poor project management. Their project manager clearly never project managed before and had to be chased constantly. When she did reply it would be one word answers and we'd have to exchange multiple messages to get basic information. It got to the point I had to call Danny constantly to complain, but nothing improved. 2. Timelines were either never shared or missed when they were shared. We had to constantly chase to understand if or when crews would show up. More often than not, even when they were committed to come, they would not show up, stretching the project out weeks. Believe it or not, our "project manager" admitted they were overbooked, which is an incredible way to tell your client they are not a priority. 3. The work was very shoddy. Some of this work needed to be re-done BEFORE THE PROJECT WAS EVEN COMPLETED and we had to hold back payment to get it completed, stretching the project into the following summer as they didn't show up (see bullet 2). The patio area is roughly 3 years old now and needs to be completely repaired, which is going to cost us a small fortune. All of the stonework needs to be pulled up as they did not put proper tarping and protection underneath and there are weeds everywhere. All of the polymeric sand grouting was done poorly and has all disintegrated, leaving gaps everywhere. Lastly, they did no grading in preparation of an under deck patio area, resulting in the patio flooding anytime we get the smallest amount of rain. This also needs to be completely re-done, all the stones pulled up, properly graded, and reset. Be aware that they sub-contract most of their work out (we were not told this and had to fact find to discover it) which means they have no real control of "their crews" and you will be constantly chasing and seeing different crews showing up constantly. There are MUCH better landscape and hardscape professionals out there to select from. I would never recommend Dex to anyone. UPDATE: In having the yard properly graded, we discovered that Dex simply threw topsoil over the stone and some plywood they had laid down for the truck path into the backyard. Mystery solved to why the grass was not growing. read more

Sharing this review is such a delight. I worked with Ed Terra who projects​ managed​​ from concept to completion. The project included an​ inground pool, hardscape and second story deck. The project was planned in and completed in 4 months. It was on time and in the ​budget. First of all,​ he was very responsive and always​ available​ for questions and there to make things happen. His team is very professional from the receptionist Danielle​ in the office, to Mark and Dahlia​ in operations overseeing the installers. The team of professionals on site were always respectful, courteous​ and cleaned up every day​ before leaving​ the construction site...WOW. From their initial visit to our home (in the pouring rain, at a time that suited our availability!), to easy and thorough communication, and ultimately an amazing CAD design- we have been more than pleased with all things Dex By Terra. Ed has been so easy to work with, and really has some wonderful design ideas that compliment what we had in mind for our new pool surround. The 3D CAD modeling tool they use made it so easy to really visualize the plans for our deck and landscape. Visiting their showroom allowed us to get a feel for what we were looking for in color, texture, and concrete design. Poor quality. They care more about taking your money than delivering a quality product. They refuse to make repairs as a result of their poor work. After fighting and getting them to make a repair, the quality of the repair is just as bad as the complete product. It fell apart! First, Ed may come and tell you how great his product is and why you should pay several thousands more than his competitor. Don't believe him. It's a lie and it's just concrete. My aggregate pool deck began falling apart only two years after it was poured. The concrete was poured on an 80 degree day and he said the ground did not need to settle before they poured. Don't let them B.S. you into either one of these things. Concrete should never be poured on a scorching hot 80 degree day or before the ground settles over the winter. Two years after pouring, there are extremely large settling cracks across the entire deck and the cantilever edge is breaking apart in one foot chunks. After continuing to contact them to come and fix my falling apart cantilever edge, they sent one guy who also lied to me. He said he put pins in the concrete to hold the new section in place. It fell apart in less than a year and there were no pins holding the new concrete in place. I have got no response after trying to contact them regarding this matter. Do yourself a favor and choose to spend your money elsewhere. read more

Our condo hired them 2 years ago to replace old falling apart sidewalks with exposed aggregate sidewalks with lots of steps, curves and several high porches. They even installed hand rails (sub-contracted, but included it in their bid) and reseeded the lawn. The porches are a joy, wider and nicer than what we had. Their price was the best, and so shoot us but we got quotes from 11 sidewalk firms in suburban Boston. There is never perfection in construction, but they rolled with the punches (bad weather, pregnant lady changing the work sequence so she could get out easily). Every other bidder wanted to charge us way more for the porches, even the 1-step ones, Two years later, 40 houses and not a single report of a crack yet. In fact, exposed aggregate gets a little prettier as time goes on and the pebble look becomes more pronounced. They also do stamped concrete--same price--and it was a hard call but we went with the pebbled-walk look. Two things I love the most are: 1) step reduction. They sloped 6" per 10 feet (code is 10" per 10 ft. max.) to eliminate 5 steps in my walkway. The slope is unnoticeable, but the fewer steps are great. 2) they made 6" high steps with 18" treads. Pure luxury! One can walk up the steps with a natural stride. If I could do it again I'd go for 5" high and 20" treads, but even 6" and 20" would be great. They also offered glow rocks, which we had 6 to 10 placed within a few inches of the edge of every step. Almost invisible during the day, they define the steps at night and we all love them. Two years later they are still working great, although they said that after 6-9 years they would lose their glow. Their showroom samples were the best we saw. Seeing the other comments, you should know that I provided the sketches of what we wanted, and I'm a real write-it-down kind of person. I'm a project manager with long experience, and these are construction guys so I had no expectation they would be big on writing. You, the customer, will need to do all the writing you want to see. The other side is that Dex was perfectly happy with that. I didn't get any attitude or pushback, and I used an AIA contract, gave them lists and pictures. I know too much about how badly these messy projects can go, so little things don't register on my Richter scale. If you want a good beautiful sidewalk and porch to the specifications you clearly describe, with a hard-working crew that accommodates your schedule as well as weather and timing permit, Dex is a winner. read more

The work is phenomenal, because everyone at Dex by Terra is dedicated to getting your patio deck or walkway done to perfection. This has been the absolute nightmare of a project, from project management and timeliness of completion to quality. Project ran weeks late, and every part has required warranty work. The deck pour was miscolored, touched up with a different color on first repair. The coping around the pool is cracking in multiple places. The stone on top of the fire pit cracked on first use, and now the stonework on the side of the fire pit is falling off. With such an expensive project, I'd expect quality work - and this absolutely under-delivered. I would steer clear - very clear, unless you'd like the privilege of dealing with their (very responsive) customer service repeatedly. read more

The design was beautiful but then every thing fell apart. The decided to plant 10's of thousands of dollars worth of plants in the middle of November. A small woman and one man showed up and then planted into the dark. the job was rushed. They did not remove the wire cage or the burlap sacks of the trees and they planted in straight sand. In addition they planted grass seed close to Thanksgiving. Also - they skimmed the mulch (less than 1/4 inch). As a result, surprise, we lost many plants and few trees, and the grass did not come in. Also the concrete deck was starting to crack. We contacted Dex by Terr so many times that my husband had a weekly calendar appt to call them. Finally after about 8 calls we got a response. They sent out a rep who told us it would all be fixed. We did get a tree replaced (which died a few months later) and the cracks were filled (most of them). But the grass was never redone and there are many plants that did not get replaced. I now have to a hire a tree company to try to save the mess they left. Needless to say I am beyond frustrated. The work crew might be good ( I never got to them referring to the review to the right), but the design team (katie) are very unprofessional. I had them come over for a consultation of my backyard terms of design, it would take a week. That is fine although excited to see the plans. Katie and I had talked through text and then phone. Saturday 9 am comes no Katie, my phone had texts and phone calls logged at 7, 8 asked we were still on. Since she didn't hear back from me early sat am, she was not going to make 9...we had confirmed it on the phone I felt no need to worry she hadn't confirmed (if I hadn't confirmed why wouldn't you call me the day before?..she said she met with her boss at 8 at night so she couldn't, but she has no problem texting me at 7 to ask if we are on.. Um Im more likely to be up at 8 then 7 am if that was the case. Hello we confirmed earlier in the week..... Misunderstandings happen.....its ok, what is not ok and really why I would NEVER use them for a project, NEVER, is my phone conversation with her...can you say BIZARRE!!...no explanations lots of dead air I called her back after 10 minutes (we got off the phone she said I have to call you back, I had asked her to email me the plans) she was just as clueless as the first. Dead air nothing to say she said she had to call her boss....um wouldn't you have done that when I got off the phone with you right away to ask if you could....apparently me calling her back asking if she did that was giving her the idea of what to do next....honestly thank you thank you for revealing what would have been a NIGHTMARE.... NIGHTMARE down the road if we had chosen them. Did I say NEVER, NIGHTMARE, BEWARE!!!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Read between the lines of the review to the right....try TRIAD designs for your pool area ( iI like any good consumer had 3 different companies come look to compare prices etc.....) so far they have been top notch with customer interaction. They might not come with the "design team" at first visit, but they measured , gave me concrete prices so I had an idea where I was at, then I built on from there knowing by the end of my appt I had a idea how much this was going to cost. Start with basic add on your likes depending on your budget. NEVER NEVER...after doing some more research looks like they've changed their name 3 times.... I only went through them because McCarthy pools in south borough uses them as their patio company. What a disappointment who would have known I wouldn't be able to even get to a price after2 weeks!! read more

Thanks to Ruben Rodriguez following up on our review AND Chantelle who TRIED to get back to us as a follow up, I will up my stars. HOWEVER, Mark, the nice gentelman who never provided a WRITTEN estimate, claims that he gave us a verbal that took us back... I WISH we would have had SOME baseline to work from. So friends, IF you choose to work with this vendor, make sure you get everything in writing (which I have yet to have to include at a minimum a sketch of what they would propose with a cost - I cant fathom how a verbal estimate assuming we had one, can make any sense without a sketch and to visualize from....) so that if you are not 100% satisfied with how you were treated, it doesnt wind up being your word vs the companies. Bottom line - We NEVER got an estimate nor a sketch. YES, I did make it clear, I did not want to break the bank on the project but that I wanted to know what the labor would be like and what it would entail and cost, before I could decide whether or not to to move forward with the project. Now, maybe our tiny project may not have been worth it to Dex, but they should have at least gotten back with us or told us they didn't want our business. Their pictures of previous work are impressive. But so are the ones of the company we have decided to go with. I will yelp that company with pictures when the job is done. I wish Dex by Terra the best. I am just giving my fellow yelpers a heads up on how to get the best service possible by setting expectations accordingly. Four years later, I have an update. The pool deck is still looks nice, and I'm happy with most of their work. However, the firepit they built us is falling apart. There are cracks all through the bricks and mortar, and all the top stones are broken. It cost over $4K, and only lasted three and a bit years before this happened. Most concerning, I walked into the office and showed them pictures, then emailed the pictures to them, and got no response at all. No call-back. Nothing. They told me at the office that it probably wouldn't be covered under warranty and I understand that nothing is "forever", but I at least expect a callback and discussion. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, but that is not an option. Very disappointed with their customer service. The bulk of the issue rates to the fact that they over promised and under delivered. You will not get what you expect and what is worse is that they will not fix any issues. They will cease all communication if you have any complaints. Customer service is about making the customer happy when something goes wrong. They don't seem to know this. In dealing with Dex By Terra the onus was on us to make sure their designer and their project manger were communicating. In fact, Im not sure they ever met each other before. The entire project was rushed and key personnel went on vacation in the midst of construction. It would be one thing if our problems were solely aesthetic, however, our greatest disappointment stems from the fact that they did not care enough to come back to rectify what we believe are safety issues. I am very happy to take the time to write this review. I just finished a pool area project with Dex By Terra, and wanted to share some feedback. It was an overall great experience. They were able to provide us up-front with a 3D design concept, which they presented to us in their office. This gave us the opportunity to really understand the look & feel of our pool area, before we even broke ground. They worked very well with the pool company to time out the project and share concerns, so that the end product matched the original design. We worked directly with Ed Terra, one of the owners. Ed was very hands on throughout the project, and kept an open dialog with us until the work was complete and he was sure that we were 100% pleased. He respected our budget and was happy to make recommendations to us that allowed us to get the look that we wanted at the price we needed. This work ethic and customer service also carries through to their foreman and crew - everyone was pleasant and kept careful attention to detail. The finished product is of a very high quality and we are consistently complemented on the design. I do not hand out good or bad reviews lightly, so rest assured that the team at Dex By Terra earned this. read more

This company by far has some serious problems with being on time and returning calls ,yes I love my deck ,but would never refer this company,my pool has been done for 3 wks and my deck just got finished..However they never clear coated like they said they did!!!!! ,You ALL need to get on the same page not sure how you can still be in business......One pissed off costomer !!!! read more

I called them last June to reseal my patio. I got an estimate, all was good, on their calendar and they charged my credit card immediately before they even did the work! I kept getting put off and no shows until August of the same year and then finally said forget it an had to chase them for a refund. Because I had a friend who swore by them I gave them a call again this year and reiterated my dissatisfaction with being put off completely last year. My patio was not in good shape and they knew that. They assured me it would get done as scheduled. I was put off once but they did end up coming when they said the second time. I did the oil base versus water base that I was sold on because it "will look like new" I was told. Well..........few problems here. First, it poured the very afternoon they did it but it isn't supposed to get wet for 24 hours I am told. Second, it looks like HELL. blotchy, every flaw it had that it was supposed to hide is so prominent now. Looks worse than when it was unsealed, I am SO bummed! I did call, sent 10 pictures, spoke to a very nice woman who assured me they would come out and look at it, never showed, I followed up, no return calls or emails. I now have a $10,000 patio that looks like shit (pardon my language). I do not have the time to chase them but sure as hell will not pay them either!!! Buyer beware bad service, customer service and workmanship. Just not cool to do that to people!! read more

About six years ago, DexbyTerra installed the patio around our inground pool. When it was finished it looked beautiful. We thought they did a great job. Not even a year later, the small stones of the exposed aggregate starting coming loose. Soon we had several large holes. DexbyTerra sent people to repair the problem. It took them three different tries to finally fix it. About two years later, the stamped concrete that outlines the pool started to crack and crumble in spots. Again, three different repair crews came before they fixed it correctly (or so I thought). They also charged me over $1,000 to make the repairs. The next summer all the same cracks and crumbles came back. So, I called DexbyTerra who informed me that I would have to pay again to make the same repairs because they were not guaranteed. However, they agreed to only charge me the cost to send out the crew which was around $200. So in early June/late May of 2016, I sent them a deposit. We set a few dates that had to be cancelled because of rain. Rescheduling was impossible as I emailed the company over and over with no response. When I finally did get a response, they assured me that there would be an opening the next week. Of course, they never got back to me and I had to start emailing again. This process continued for the entire summer until I finally demanded my deposit back (which I got). After such frustration we decided to wait until the spring to think about our patio repairs again (we had to put the pool cover on any way by this time). So here I am thinking about Spring and feeling frustrated that I have to search for another company to repair the repairs that DexbyTerra so poorly completed and will have to spend even more money. It is a shame that this company did not stand by its workmanship. read more
