I have been coming to Dexter's for the last few years and it's one of my favorite spots in all of New London County! The employees are always super friendly and ready to answer any questions you have. I love that they have both an inside area with seating, and an outside window for orders and pickups. The smoothies are always a 10/10. In the fall, I get the Harvest Cobbler (one of their seasonal drinks), but during the rest of the year I love the Blueberry Oat with peaches added in and the Mango Refresher. My mom LOVES the Chocolate PB&B because it tastes just like a Reese's peanut butter cup. Their coffee is also delicious, and they have an abundance of flavored syrups to choose from. I love getting their cookie butter syrup, but their salted caramel, toasted almond mocha, and cherry syrups sound really good too. They also offer two sugar free syrup options, vanilla and caramel. I love that as a small business themselves, they support and use products from other local small businesses. I'm so happy Norwich has an actual smoothie spot, and not just another MLM-backed healthy/nutritional "smoothie" place. You won't be disappointed if you come here! read more

I've never tried Dexters before, but my coworker has been telling me about it for years. Finally I made my way to try it. I ordered online for ASAP pickup 10 minutes before I arrived, expecting to wait for a bit for it to be ready, but to my surprise, it was waiting in the fridge at the pickup window by the time I arrived. Can't say what the inside of Dexters looks like yet, but the pick up window outside was convenient. I tried a medium chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie and it was incredible - a great post-workout treat that left me full for a good 3+ hours afterwards. Dexters prices are also very reasonable. Smoothies are not cheap when they are made with real ingredients rather than just fruit syrups/concentrates like other places use, but the quality of what you get for the price you pay is well worth it. I will be coming back for more smoothies in the future and also want to try some of their coffees! read more

I don't always go to Norwich, but when I do I always make sure to stop at this amazing coffee place! They have an amazing selection of specialty coffee and flavors, a punch card for a free coffee after 8 coffees, and reasonable prices! Not to mention the staff is all super friendly and while theres an outside window for quick purchases you can also go inside and have a seat which is perfect for when its raining out. Also a big thing to note is how great the parking is, theres a huge parking lot right in front of it so you never have to worry about paying for street parking or anything like that. I have yet to try the smoothies but if they're anything like the coffee I bet they're delicious too. read more

Dexters' has been on my list of coffee shops to visit and they can't be compared to anywhere else that I have been. They serve coffee, tea, and smoothies, priding themselves in using only the freshest and local ingredients. They use Craftsman Cliff Roasters coffee (a near by roaster) and local dairy options. During our first visit, I got their seasonal Pumpkin Chai that had a thick pumpkin puree and maple syrup that was very delicious. My mom tried the White Pumpkin Latte that had white chocolate sauce, pumpkin pie sauce, pumpkin puree, and vanilla cinnamon cold foam--a PSL lovers dream! This was a large and it was huge! My husband tried one of their smoothies, the Harvest Cobbler, which I thought was very tasty. It was thick and tangy from the rolled oats and yogurt, but the blueberries, peaches, and cinnamon tasted like a yummy pie. It was a great healthy alternative and was not sugary like other smoothie places. You can order at their shop's walk-up window, but they do have a small area of tables on the inside. There were a few Adirondack chairs on the outside to lounge as well (perfect for the summer) They also sell bags of Craftsman Cliff Roasters coffee too with a decent variety. They are setup for grab and go which we noticed from the many mobile orders--you can order online on their website. I would definitely recommend giving Dexters Smoothie Coffee Vault a shot if you are in the area. read more

They've got punch cards! This is a staple now in this town. They have gluten free and soy free protein powder which is excellent! It's plant based but I still had to ask if it was soy free before I ordered the other day and the woman was very kind when finding me the answer. I always appreciate that little bit of kindness because trust us- we don't want these allergies. (For consistency amongst reviews my husband has the soy allergy, not me) Plenty of alternative milk options for your coffee or smoothie. The boards seem intimidating at first but if you take a moment to take it in, it's not that confusing. It helps if you know what you're in the mood for ahead of time but there's something for everyone here. There's two places you can order, outside or inside. No one is quicker than the other. A few places to sit and wait. Be patient, it takes a few minutes to throw a smoothie together! They're fresh made to order and worth the little wait! I've never had a bad experience here AND they've never messed up my order and I always get mods! There's some fun art pieces to look at inside and a few thrifty places to shop right next door! Just was driving by and tried this place using their app for pre order. We got a nutty date smoothie it had so much going on and was very good! It had a little bit of texture that we enjoyed. I also wanted to try one of their iced cafe au lait, I picked snickerdoodle, the primary reason we went out of our way to come here. For something that has milk, it was more watery than creamy and the snickerdoodle taste while I expected it to be subtle wasn't detectable at all, and neither was the coffee flavor. No flavor, a watery iced coffee that reminded me of dunkin after it sat out for a while. Left me def confused! I read the description online and it just didn't match... still, I would give it another go because I dig the concept. Will update in the future! read more

Love this local coffee spot. They have all local ingredients from their milk to their coffee beans. If you haven't stopped in yet I would definitely recommend. They have inside and outside seating. Staff is friendly and have wonderful recommendations. Plenty of parking in the plaza. They got busy pretty quickly once we placed out order. They had a line inside and outside that had to be taken care of. I would recommend to order online or through their app if possible if you're on a time crunch. So... I love trying new places, especially coffee shops. My sister, who's an avid Yelper, introduced us to this place. I'm always skeptical of great reviews outside of NY. I will admit, I am biased... but this place deserves its ratings. I ordered the chocolate and PB&B smoothie and my sister ordered the cold brew. Of course we tasted each other's drinks after our immediate... "Omg." My brother, who didn't order anything the first time around, went back to order my smoothie after trying it. Great consistency, great flavor and whole ingredients. Outside is adorable. I had to post a picture to capture it's aesthetic. I bet this place is a hit in the summer! Service wise, such sweet people. Quintin and Olivia were so patient and helpful given we did have a large group. Our drinks came fast and it was worth every second! I had to drop a box for work at the fedex (more on that later), and decided getting myself into a better mood before returning to work, so I stopped here for an iced coffee. It's *super* local. Local milks, local coffee roaster, local local local. Dexters is a walk up coffee/ smoothie bar where you order at the window and pick up when it's ready. They also have an app, but I didn't download it cause I'm not local at all. I'm just up here visiting my folks. There was a good selection of smoothies and coffees to choose from. I had a 24oz iced coffee with cream and spiced brown sugar syrup. Super. Yummy. Good amount of caffeine too as it got me through a very long "death by PowerPoint" type of day at work. The service here is so wonderful!! We love coming to Dexters and seeing the staff (who remember what I order now as I am a creature of habit) plus the incredible owner's and their kiddo :) she loves to come say "hi" to our pup and the parents strike up such enjoyable conversations. The coffee is great, and so are the smoothies, which are quite refreshing during the hot summers! My partner likes to change his drink option up whereas I have been getting the Vanilla Mint Café au lait with cold brewed coffee since one of the members - I think their name is Quincey, so sorry if I completely botched that - recommended it on our first visit there nearly a year ago. They also make the drink the BEST :D it's got a delightful layer of minty foam that mixes into the cold brew so pleasantly. It is located in an adorable little shopping center with some cute shops and flower planters filled with items that flourish with the upcoming seasons! They have an awesome walk up window to order and pick up your coffees/smoothies at your convenience with a few chairs to rest while waiting. Absolutely loved this place!! Been in Norwich all my life and always looking for new places that pop up. There located in a cute plaza. Any way me and my mother were out and about and found them. I ordered the Dexter refresher with pineapple it was so delicious very smooth and a perfect hot day kinda drink. My mother ordered the inspiration and absolutely loved it. I never was a huge fan of smoothies due to a lactose intolerance issue but by all means please give this place a try there dairy substitutes were perfectly blended in my smoothie and definitely tasted amazing.
