I saw the bucket on instagram and knew I had to check it out. What a cute little coffee place, you order at the window and there's plenty of seating. Either on the front patio or over at the picnic tables to the left. I got a coconut iced latte and it was perfection! It wasn't too sweet- which can sometimes be a problem when you get a flavored latte. It was a smooth coffee flavor with just a hint of coconut almost as an after taste- it was PERFECT! I also got the Belgium waffles which were incredible. I wanted to check out the egg bites but they were sold out. And despite it being 30 minutes before closing the baristas were amazing, accommodating, and so friendly! I will definitely go back! Highly recommend if you're in the area!

We heard of WS through Facebook. My friend got the banana pudding latte. The service was excellent, and the ambience gave a comfy but rustic vibe.

I'd first seen Wicked Southern Coffee on my Instagram feed weeks ago and several times since. The algorithm knows I need coffee. I wasn't sure it where it was, but it made an impression on me because it seemed like a small business that cared about service and had good looking drinks. I was planning to be at Fox Farm Brewing and some other area places and I saw that WSC was nearby. I stopped by. I met the owner Kaylee who was very nice. She took my order from an ice cream shop style window. I didn't notice inside seating, but people were sitting outside in various spots. Kaylee was helpful in answering my questions about the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. It's early for pumpkin seasoning for me, but I went with it. It was very good. Smooth. Not too much cream. The pumpkin seasoning was appropriate. They had a steady flow of business and customers seemed to connect with the business. I'm not sure who their roaster is, but they were selling a bag of Espresso beans from a Florida roaster I didn't know. I'd definitely return. 4.5 Stars

I wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. It was super cute from the outside; just a simple barn walk up window. We waited for maybe 10 minutes, and saw some delicious looking coffees on their specials board, so I decided to try 2 of them, one for now and one for tomorrow. I ordered the s'mores and the Caribbean coconut, and a Belgian waffle and my interaction was just plain odd. When she was reading my order back to me she messed up one of my coffees saying I wanted a different flavor, so I politely said "sorry that's not supposed to be fluffanutter, I'd like the smores please!" And she rolled her eyes and said "well you said fluffanutter when you ordered, but I'll go ahead change it" (she had not even made the coffee yet, just reading back my order so idk why it put her out so much). My sister heard the whole interaction and concurred that I didn't say fluffanutter as I have a nut allergy... but I digress. Neither my sister or I received punch cards but they offered them to everyone else who ordered, and I never got my waffle. The line was too long and honestly didn't want to interact with her again so we left. The coffee was okay, the Caribbean coconut tasted like someone put coconut flakes in coffee and that was all. Same for the smores, it really only tasted like someone threw graham crackers on top. The coffee itself was a little weak but my sisters tasted better (big coffee drinker here even though I can only have decaf, I think they might not have had enough grounds in the decaf bc hers tasted better) Overall I wouldn't drive out of my way for this coffee shop but I would I stop by if I was just passing through and there was no line.

Cheerio latte, banana pudding latte, and cookie butter cheesecake latte.

They have the best lattes. And they always have a cool limited tine drink menu. Despite the tacy that they can get extremly busy the line moves very fast and everybody working there is extremely kind.

I've been going to this coffee shop often. Their coffee is good! Nice cute spot to sit and drink your coffee. They also have a cute free library. Staff are friendly. I highly recommend!

This made me happy, as I'm all for small business, and thought being in the building would be a drawing point for them.

That's how I first learned about @brickandbasil in Yantic. I visited several months ago, but forgot to post my review. There was a bit of a hiccup when I visited. I drove about 40 minutes to get there, and when I arrived, I learned that they were closed for their first ever private Baby Shower party. I was crushed. But this story has a rated PG Happy Ending. I called the restaurant and spoke to Amy. I explained that I had driven a ways and asked if they could make me a pizza to go. They didn't take long to tell me that they would make me the first pizza of the day before the shower got into Full Swing. I was grateful for their hospitality, and terrific wood-fired pizza. I was inside briefly. They have plenty of seating and a bar that with decor suggesting a love of music. I ordered the Mama Mia and ate a couple slices outside. It had sliced meatball, roasted red pepper, mozzarella and ricotta on a good chewy Wood Fired Crust. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The red sauce had bright flavor. The ricotta was creamy and fluffy. Brick and Basil is well respected in pizza circles, and I can see why. It started as a food truck. But a food truck that starts with the word Brick, was bound to have a Brick and Mortar. And we're lucky they do. 5 Stars

Each time I've been heading out, I'd tell myself, "I'll stop on the way back." But every time, I'd be so tired from my ride or just really wanted to get into a hot shower, that I'd murmur to myself, "Next time." Well, after this scenario played itself out for the umpteenth time, I decided to ride out to it by way of Arcadia. OMFG! Was this place ever so good! The absolutely best French Fries I've ever eaten and after looking at the menu, I can understand why. Being a small food truck, they probably only have one fryolator. So everything gets cooked in the oil they use. The Hot Dog I ordered was the BBQ Dawgg. A beef Hot Dog wrapped in Bacon and then deep fried until the Bacon is crispy. Into a tasty, but not overly huge Bun and topped with grilled Onions and BBQ Sauce. So you get the Bacon fat and Hot Dog fat mixing in with whatever kind of oil they are using, which imparts all those flavors into the French Fries. Service is fast and friendly.

I'm a tough critic when it comes to food, and they get no notes from me. Every dish was a standout. I've never heard of a scallop roll before, but I want 3 more of them right now. Shuckin Truck was an absolute hit! They set up the outdoor raw bar...clams (littlenecks), oysters, and shrimp on ice, in a very attractive manner. The table was manned by a charming "shucker". There were an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres which included lobster grilled cheese lobster triangles...these were indescribably delicious. Everyone was oohing and aahing over these. I also loved the smoked salmon on toast and the small cups of really tasty clam chowder. All the appetizers were incredibly delicious although I would say the lobster grilled cheese was the biggest hit. All of the staff were polite and friendly. After the appetizer round, the lobster rolls came out and they were simply spectacular. They were true New England lobster rolls on toasted square edged (this is key) frankfurter buns, and absolutely stuffed with chunks of delicious lobster meat that had been lightly dressed with mayo. Those rolls were out of this world, deliciously prepared and very generously filled with sweet lobster meat. They also served fabulous fish tacos. For the non-seafood eaters of which there were none at this party, they served a pulled pork taco which was spicy and delicious. The portions were generous and the food just kept on coming out. While there was plenty of additional food at this party from other vendors as well as some homemade additions, Shuckin' Truck was my favorite part of the overall feast. Great job! I would not hesitate to hire them for a party or to seek out the food truck wherever it was parked!
