The service was really good! Coffee was above average and the smoothie was refreshing on a hot day.

Purchased the Aww-So-Good and it was worth every penny. Very smooth and didn't have that tart aftertaste that some coffees have.

Now we don't venture all the way to Amagansett often, but we like to head out to Montauk once a year, and social media presented a cute coffee shop to stop at on the way, Bonfire. Cute could definitely be the word, especially the exterior of the place with some shaded seats on their deck and the small grassy courtyard that encompassed them and the neighboring storefronts. The vibes worked, though many other factors were more iffy. I'll try to focus on the other good options in that the menu of Bonfire is intriguing from their coffee and food options as well as gelato. I'll also say the staff, despite a small snafu (more on that in a sec), were able to take orders and keep things going. I'll even say that on first sip of my coffee I was wowed, but that's just what you see on the surface level. Underneath those positives was a pricier coffee spot with my wife's blueberry whip latte coming in at $11. Between that, a chocolate croissant, and my own latte we spent $27 which is a little much for what we got. Yes, eastern Long Island can be pricy, but dang. As for my aforementioned coffee, I got the Bonfire Latte which combined vanilla, hazelnut, and cardamom flavors to create what started as a truly delicious taste, but after a few sips once the flavor punch wore off, I would've at least expected a coffee kick in there. Honestly, there wasn't much. The real sign this was true was my wife who prefers a little more sweetness than coffee taste in her drinks saying that she couldn't taste any coffee in hers either. Oh and that croissant while soft and flaky, definitely felt like the chocolate could've been a little more melted in to it as I pulled out a whole piece when trying to tear it for my wife. One last item about the croissant was the fact that we ordered it and no one gave it to us. Our coffees came out relatively quickly despite the place being somewhat busy, but we stood and watched a few people who ordered after us get their stuff before I had to ask about the croissant which seemed to have been forgotten about. Oy. Overall, Bonfire Coffeehouse presents itself as a lovely eastern location to get some morning brews and then some, but perhaps it's not as fantastic as the facade it showcases. I'd like to try them one more time in the future, but that'll be a long time off (probably not til next summer) and that's if I feel like it's worth the price and I'm willing to believe the lack of coffee flavor was a fluke. Head out on the south fork and you be the judge.

It's rare to find a coffee shop that I'd drive more than 10 minutes to go to, but Sweet Aroma…read moredefinitely makes that list because it is one of the best around! I discovered it a few months ago when I was looking for a coffee shop shortly after I left for a drive to Rhode Island. The shop itself is so cute and in a central location and the service is friendly and welcoming. I recently saw that they were doing pre-orders for some of their baked goods for the holidays and decided to treat my husband and myself to an order of 6 ready to bake cinnamon bun scones. The price was more than reasonable and pick up was easy as could be. I ordered an iced peppermint mocha while picking up the scones and it was exactly the festive jolt of caffeine I was looking for. The scones came frozen with the glaze on the side and detailed instructions on how to cook them. These scones were INCREDIBLE and very easily the best we've ever had. They had that slight scone-like crisp on the outside but they were softer on the inside, just like a cinnamon roll. They were the perfect holiday treat for us to enjoy in the days leading up to Christmas. Sweet Aroma has fantastic coffee but DO NOT sleep on their baked goods because they are out of the world delicious.

Any and every Barista knows espresso is to be pulled each time, never to sit long, or it separates and becomes weak and bitter. Not only was i appalled at the way the beverages were made, it looks as though a deep clean is needed. I noticed while waiting for my refund, there was a large bug, sticky with syrup, dead, right in plain sight. Brewed Awakening stood out as having a good rating and being close to my route. Brewed Awakening does not present as a craft coffee shop focused on bean origins and things like that. It's a small, old school coffee shop, with limited inside place to sit and stand. The space is not fancy. It's more functional. But I'll tell you something . . . almost every usable inch of that space was occupied by people who seemed like long time regulars. Maybe like 5 to 6 people, but people who were happy to be there. The coffee was reasonably priced. The food, included hot dogs, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, classic sandwiches. Also reasonably priced by modern standards. There seems to be a New York connection to the shop because they use Nathan's Hot Dogs and the donuts on the counter came from New York. The woman who I assume was an owner was the only person working. She was very nice and helpful. I suspect she's a reason why they have a loyal customer base. I thought about ordering a hot dog at 8 a.m., but I had food plans in Mystic. I just ordered a Black Iced Coffee. The ice cubes were that thin round tube style with holes on the top and bottom, that you used to see a lot in restaurant fountain soda. The iced coffee itself was about average. If I just wanted a high end black iced coffee, I probably wouldn't return. I would definitely return to check out their reasonably priced food in warmer months when you can sit outside. In any event, if you're looking for a place with a lot of character, Brewed Awakening would be a good choice. It's close to the Route 9 Exit that you take on your way to the Clinton Outlets. 3.5 Stars

The staff there were very nice and worked hard to get our order to us quickly! There was maybe one table inside, but it was tight. There are a couple more full service breakfast spots in the area, but Brewed Awakening is a great option when you just want to grab a coffee or a quick bite!
