The park is perfectly placed and laid out for events. Lot's of seating in the sun and shade, trail access, decent mix of shade cover and open sunny areas, plus it feels really safe. The trail that extends through this park is one of my faves. It is wide, flat, and gorgeous. I usually walk from here to where the Hollywood Hills wineries are, then back. Perfect flat walk for people with strollers, dogs, etc. The parking is limited- only about 15 spots. The baseball fields across the street aren't much better. I usually try to find parking at Woodin Creek or, if I have to, pay for the Schoolhouse District parking. A magical oasis in the middle of our sweet suburb!

The playground is great for kids aged 4-14. My little daredevil gave me a heart-stopping moment on the spinning climber, but thankfully she managed to hold on and avoid scraping her knee. Her sisters were beaming with joy, making it a fun-filled afternoon for all! A heads up: parking might fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. We actually took the local bus, which worked out great, so there's a convenient public transportation option available. The park borders the Sammamish River trail and offers a lovely view of Lake Sammamish from the walking trails. I recommend bringing a blanket or camping chairs - there's plenty of grassy space around the play area.

Sammamish River Trail, Bothell, WA - Sunday, August 17, 2025…read more The Yelp location for this trail is in Woodinville; however, I caught it in Bothell. I rode for about 6 miles in the direction of Redmond and then turned around and rode back. It's a nice paved trail that runs along the Sammamish River. I passed a couple nice family parks along the way. It was pretty busy, since it was a Sunday. There were cyclists, runners, walkers (some with dogs), and skate boarders and roller bladers that I saw. Some cyclists were going pretty fast, which can be a recipe for disaster, especially on blind curves. So beware of that possibility. Better safe than sorry.

Cottage Lake Park is a neighborhood gem type of park. It isn't BIG, so it isn't worth a drive just…read moreto see it. But if you are nearby, stopping by for a stroll is recommended. On the park's property are also several sponsored YMCA activities, but those were closed during my visit. The parking lot at the NW corner is reasonably sized. We easily found parking. We later found another lot on the SE corner, but it was blocked. Entering the park, we see a picnic area adjacent to the sports court. The sports court is a single space usable for basketball and tennis. Walking further, we find the dock to the lake. The water is murky with a few ducks. There weren't any motor boats on the lake, which made the lake feel serene. The lack of water movement also yielded some fantastic reflection photos. During the later hours, we saw several men setting up their equipment to fish. A sizable playground is great for the kids. A short trail walk led to a second picnic area. The trail is a short loop walk with basic trees and wild growth. The walk is very well maintained and paved, even if not spectacular. The only "hazards" are tiny, speedy humans on bikes/trikes and yippee dogs claiming their territory. They added some excitement to a short stroll.

Woodin Creek Park leads to the Sammamish River Trail. There are only 5 parking spots, and all 5 of them were full when Ryan and I arrived at this park, so we parked near the sports field and walked over to this park. I had been wanting to check out this park because I play basketball occasionally with friends and I have been searching for an infrequently-used outdoor basketball court that we can play on when the weather gets a bit warmer. Last year, when I was healthy enough to do it, I played basketball at home (but with the way that my back yard is structured as well as the only reasonable place to put the basketball hoop, the surroundings are less than ideal for retrieving a runaway ball), and I also played on the basketball court at Rhododendron Park in Kenmore, but the scent of heavy traffic at that other park was kind of off-putting to me as I am sensitive to smells and wanted a court where the air smelled like trees instead of heavy exhaust. This basketball court at this park smells nice - nature smells mostly - and it is mostly surrounded by a wide flat grassy meadow, making it easy to retrieve the basketball if it rolls away. I think I have found a better place to play basketball with my friends this year! As mentioned in the other review, there is also one tennis court at this park. No one was playing basketball or tennis when we visited. There isn't much for kids to do here, unless they play basketball or tennis, or some other sport where a medium-sized grassy meadow would be useful (soccer? badminton?), but that's fine by me, just thought I would note it for people who enjoy taking their kids to the park. No swings, play center, slides, things like that. Ryan and I enjoyed our visit to this park.

I found Totem Lake Park, and it was such a beautiful surprise. The park has an amazing playground, plenty of benches and grassy areas to sit and bask in the sun, and lovely walkways surrounded by trees, plants, and birds. It felt like a little sanctuary tucked away in the city -- calm, refreshing, and full of life. After lunch, I took a stroll through the paths and soaked in the sunshine. It was crisp but bright, the perfect fall day. Everything was clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms. There's also easy street parking and wonderful views of the lake. Such a peaceful spot -- I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

My husband drove my daughter and I here this morning, and I was surprised to see some farm animals here (cows, horses, pigs, ducks, rabbits, goats). There were some kids waiting to ride a horse too, and it looks like they also took them to the trail in the park (there is an equestrian trail too (yes, I've never seen that word in my life until today lol). The park seems well-maintained, and the barnyard area looks clean too. There are electrical wire around some areas of the barnyard, so I'm guessing some people violates the rules of no feeding/touching the animals regardless of the signs. I've never seen it before, so we exercised extra caution while trying to see the animals at a reasonable distance away from the wires. The park itself looks like a forest with super tall trees and fresh air. Some parts of the park is paved and it also looks well-maintained despite the horse poops on the road. There is a small creek in the park that kids can easily get accessed to as well. The bathroom was also clean despite looking like a bathroom at a campsite. ps. There was also a cat who came to me to let me pat. It also meowed when I stopped meowing, so I had to pat it again (this repeated for maybe 5 times). I am not sure why nobody else mentioned this, so I'm guessing it's a stray.

There's no feeding the animals as they're on special diets, but some of the animals like the goats will come up to the fenced area for pats. I can see why they don't allow feed, as when I visited there was a private party with lots of kids-the animals would have probably gorged themselves if there was free reign of food. I liked how there was an outdoor row of sinks at the restroom facility since it encourages good hand hygiene after petting the animals. There's also a family restroom to make this place especially family friendly. I didn't have time to check out the trails, but they go through a wooded area and it looked cool.
