Wow! This is a hidden gem & it's FREE! One tip, don't go with teenagers unless they're really into cars & history. The outer appearance is deceiving. They have sooo many things to see and read! SUPER COOL to see how cars were compared to how they are now. You think the small room to the right of entrance was it, but when you go upstairs on the right of reception, you'll be surprised at how much MORE antique car collections they have! There's also a miniature of Titanic, A LOT of car, boat, plane toys. I could easily spend 2 hours without my teenagers. They ruined my excitement.

My family really enjoyed browsing this collection! We even found a black Toyota pickup that looked oh so clean. There are plenty of restrooms on each level and the aisles are spaced wide for wheelchairs. Admission is free and there's a lot of parking. Great place!

I saw this museum on Instagram, and I made a note to take my parents when I next visited them. The museum was way more than I was expecting it to be. Best of all, the museum is completely free! They have 200 different cars, and there are all different types of cars. They had super expensive cars like a Bugatti to vintage cars to "cars that shouldn't exist", and everything in between. They also have toys and other collectibles to look at. It took us about 2 hours to walk around, but you could easily spend more time there. Highly recommend visiting this museum, I know I'll be asking to go back next time in Fort Worth.

If you're seeking out a nice way to spend the afternoon exploring DFW Car and Toy Museum is an excellent choice. It's easy access from I-35. There's plenty of parking which is always a plus. Be prepared to spend a few hours because it's huge. There are the main attractions on the museum floors (2 levels) and there is also a library with leather sofas, a robot room and a neat room with doggy inspired artwork. And a "doghouse" like you've never seen. There's vending machines available with snacks and drinks but no cafe on premises. The museum just opened in March of 2025 so maybe a lunch spot is coming. Maybe eat lunch first because it's big, it's cool with so much to see so you'll probably be here a while. Definitely planning a return visit already.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to rave about this museum, first of all it's free second of all it has the most amazing collection of cars. I actually met very briefly the owner of the museum. There has to be 300 cars here and thousands of toys. Places is really very interesting. You could spend all day here for sure.

This place is SO cool! Admission is free - which already drew me in- we went today when they were doing their coffee and car show and saw so many cool cars! Parking was easy- grassy area across from the museum itself (it has its own parking lot but was being used for the car show. Inside there were so many different types of cars, we were shocked at how huge the place really is once you get in. 10/10 we will definitely be coming back and checking out their events!

History In the beginning man created museums to preserve history. Then Ron Sturgeon created the DFW Car and Toy Museum to share some of His-story in the automotive industry to the world. This museum is revitalizing the car culture in the DFW area with its amazing vehicles, toys, collectibles, car shows, meets, rally launches, swap meets, parties and the list keeps goings. Taking an old abandoned warehouse and turn it into a world class museum is something only a visionary could do. This place is second to none. Even if you are not a car person, toy person or museum person you will appreciate this museum. Look forward to seeing what's next!

This place is a great place to visit and it's free! 3 floors full of cars and collectables in great condition. Perfect place to visit on a rainy day, if your a car enthusiast or just want to try somewhere new. Great for families, couples or solo visitors. We enjoyed reading about the cars and the owners and even heard some fun stories from one of the volunteers. High recommend.

I enjoyed walking around the Kaws sculpture, which faces the water outside. This review is mainly for the gift shop, which I love. It ranks high among all the museums I've been to in other, especially the museums in NYC (Whitney, MoMA, The Met). There were lots of my favorite artists represented in the shop, including Warhol, Basquiat and Haring. I ended up getting the Velvet Underground tote, a magnet and a bag of Gudetama chips, which made me laugh. It would have been easy to spend a lot more money in the shop, but I decided to take it easy (Haha). The service was really good, as I recall, and everything was reasonably priced. The people who work in this museum tend to be friendly and easygoing. Overall, 5/5. Highly recommended.

There's plenty of room to explore without feeling crowded, and the overall atmosphere is calm and welcoming. That said, the museum does feel a bit dated in places. Several of the hands-on exhibits designed for kids -- especially the ones with buttons and interactive elements -- weren't working, which was a little disappointing since that's often what kids are most excited about. On the positive side, it's still better than the science museum in Houston, in our experience. The planetarium is one of the better ones around, and the absolute standout is the Omni Theater helicopter ride -- you simply cannot beat it. That alone is worth the visit and completely captivated our child. Overall, while some updates and maintenance would go a long way, this is still a strong family-friendly museum and a great outing for young kids.

It was definitely my favorite part of our trip to the area! I couldn't believe all the artifacts it possessed. Texas played a significant role in the American Civil War Secession: Texas joined the Confederacy in early 1861, a few weeks before the first shots were fired at Fort Sumter. Texas declared its secession from the Union on February 1, 1861, and joined the Confederate States on March 2, 1861, after it had replaced its governor, Sam Houston, who had refused to take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy. Military: Nearly 90,000 Texans served in the military. Leaders of the Texas forces included legendary figures John Bell Hood, Albert Sidney Johnston, John Bankhead Magruder, Patrick Cleburne, and Ben McCulloch. Battles: Texas forces fought in many major battles, including Gettysburg, Antietam, Second Manassas, Wilson's Creek, The Wilderness, Vicksburg, Corinth, Shiloh, Chickamauga, Glorieta Pass, Pea Ridge, Gaine's Mill, Franklin, and Mansfield. Texas also defended its own coastline, repulsing Union invaders at Brownsville, Sabine Pass, Galveston, Corpus Christi, and Laredo. Blockades: The Union blockaded Galveston, Houston, and other ports, making it difficult for farmers to export their crops. Closing: The surrender of the Trans-Mississippi Department of the Confederacy at Galveston on June 2, 1865 was, as Capt. Benjamin Franklin Sands of the United States Navy noted, "the closing act of the Great Rebellion." Just a few weeks later on June 19, Gen. Gordon Granger, commander of U.S. troops in Texas, arrived in Galveston and ended slavery in Texas by issuing an order that the Emancipation Proclamation was in effect in Texas later to become known as Juneteenth.
