I received a message the night before that they couldn't pick me up. My son received his cancellation message while on his flight. Leaving people stranded is not good business for a shuttle company. Recently I had to get to Dallas airport and needed a taxi service. I called them a week in advance. The guy who answered seemed friendly enough but also just a wee bit too cavalier, eliciting my skepticism that he was really taking down my information. I figured I was being paranoid. He did assure me that he could provide the service requested, for about $70 (it would be based on a meter, he said.). So I called a day before to make sure we were all set. Nobody answered so I left a message which was not returned. I called again first thing in the morning on day of departure and this time the same guy did answer. He told me that he was "just about to call me" and that on Tuesdays all the staff has a day off which is why he didn't respond the day before. Ok, whatever. He then said, in a somewhat stoned tone of voice, "You want a pick up at 12 right?". I had actually requested 11:45 but feeling a little wary I asked for 11:30, for a little cushion. So, 11:30 rolls around and I'm all packed up and looking out the window. At 11:45 I'm getting nervous so I call again and get the answering machine and ask him to please get back to me as I have a flight to catch and no alternate means of transport. I call again at 12:00 and still no answer. This is where I start feeling pacing around the lawn with my luggage looking crazed. Luckily, I happened to get a hold of AA taxi who were able to get to my house by 12:15 and get me to the airport with a little time to spare. No sign of Denton County taxi anywhere as I was leaving, of course. According to the AA driver, Denton County Taxi has no license and is operating illegally. Considering that I never heard again from them, I have no reason to doubt this. Thankfully I had not given any credit card information over the phone prior. I cannot dis-recommend this service enough.

PICK UP: When summoning your car at DFW, I'd suggest waiting on the middle island outside of baggage claim. You're required to select your terminal then the app will give you a GPS pinpoint of where to wait, though pick up seemed to be all over the place as some cars picked up from the middle island but ours came to the main curb outside of baggage claim. Ride share signage is very poor here, surprisingly. The lady who picked us up didn't help us with our bags at all, though she was nice and got us to our hotel safely. DROP OFF: A friendly guy named Joshua picked up up at our hotel. Unlike many drivers, he got out of his car and assisted us with loading our luggage. He was friendly, conversational and professional the whole way to the airport. When we arrived, he again got out of his car and assisted us with each bag. You can bet I gave him a nice tip! COST: Each run cost us $15 for a four mile trip. OVERALL: So far, so good in the Lone Star State!
