My yard had been unusable for years--just dead grass, weeds and dirt. Had issues growing a lawn back there and not having irrigation was not helping. It's a huge space that was being unused, but we had a vision of having grass back there that we could walk barefoot on, play soccer, host parties, etc. Had a few quotes from contractors and either they were way too high, or the contractor just rubbed me the wrong way. David had done work on a few houses in the neighborhood the work was great. He came highly recommended by my neighbors, so I had asked him for a quote to install irrigation, a slab of concrete for a pavilion in the future and St Augustine grass. Smaller job and didn't think he would be interested but he took it but was in the middle of other jobs and he told me that he'd contact me in the beginning of August--didn't hold my breath because of other interactions with contractors in the past. He called me first week of August and said they were ready to start in two days. They did and his crew are beasts. Showed up on the minute everyday--6:30am on the dot. They worked throughout the day, in the heat and were polite and respectful. They brought in a Bobcat and removed the weeds, tilled the dirt, dug the mold for the slab, put in about an inch of organic topsoil. Cement crew came in and poured the slab and stamped a nice pattern into it. The yard was leveled, and the irrigation was installed with a timer. The following day a 18-wheeler came in with several pallets of St Aug. At the end of that day, the job was done and was perfect. Incredible transformation of our yard. I was impressed with DG Construction. The crew was punctual and professional, which is important to me--especially with contractors. Every detail that I had mentioned to David was done. I had asked that they remove some plants, removing an old pole, leaving a 3-foot border all around, leaving a dip in the lawn so I can open/shut a gate, etc. I had asked for this during the first convo that I had with David the month prior and didn't mention it again and at the end of the job--it was all done just as I asked so David listened and delivered. There were a few issues with the coverage of the irrigation, and they immediately came back to correct it. Me and my family are extremely pleased with the result, and we have no complaints at all. It was quick and result was exactly how we asked and envisioned. There are few contractors that I would bring back or recommend to anyone else, but David and his team were top-notch, and I would highly recommend him. The work was done last year and I waiting to post this until I knew that the grass, slab and irrigation survived and it all in great shape. We're not done in our back year and as time allows, we'll go back to DG for future jobs! read more

I came across David's work on a local city page. We contacted him for an estimate for a pool fence. He came out gave us an estimate and we discussed other projects. My spouse like him and his work so we waited until he was available. Did stairs to sunken bar not to code. Flagstone with sharp edges. Asked for all to be fixed. Was to come back and fix never showed. Then put a mechanic lien on my house. Two significant injuries from falling on stairs. Found out DG construction has no insurance. Never presented a design for sunken bar said he is a contractor not a designer. Let me start by saying I am impressed with the work that was done. I met David while he was working on my neighbor's house and was fascinated with how the job was turning out. I showed David my backyard and the things I was struggling with and he gave me straightforward advice as to how to fix it. I originally had pavers surrounding the playground I was building and it looked funky. He suggested we put a curb border instead and I DO NOT regret it. I would not recommend DG to anybody. He finished the project almost 3 months later than he said he would and always blamed somebody else. He blamed the county permit process but we were able to get the time line from them showing us David didn't submit the final plans until a little over a month after the completion date he gave us. I wouldn't recommend DG construction to anyone. I gave DG construction the benefit of the doubt because of an incident that was posted on next-door. Well now I believe that women who sued him not David. In fact I turned ALL my referrals and coworkers away because I didn't want my friends to go through what I did and will never recommend him. Lesson learned. Please make sure everything is in writing and in the contract. He submitted the quote and it didn't have the AC to be moved on the contract. Which we went over and I wanted that done with the rest of my work. I texted him about it and asked if it was included and of course he said it was. I still have the text. He didn't move the AC and when we asked him about it he said it wasn't in the contract. We then moved our fire-pit back further which required more concrete to be poured and my fiancé and I figured since we're not moving the AC it's a wash. NOPE!!! He still wanted the money for the additional concrete which was the same price as the AC to be relocated. He wasn't going to budge at all. David also promises the world and says that he will come back and fix whatever we need. Just call him/text him. Well, we also had an area that something fell in the concrete and he stated that he will patch it and I will never know. The patch will blend right in. The patch job looks like crap and he said he would do whatever it took to fix it, even if he has to buy an area rug to cover it. Well that was 8/2/19 and now it's 10/3/19 and he hasn't come like he has promised multiple times and hasn't returned my text or anything. He's got his money. He could careless. I wouldn't waste your time or money. Don't make the same mistake we did. Hire someone else. read more

Contractors can be a gamble sometimes no doubt. After having moved into a brand new community we had "contractors" show up daily with a business card looking to be hired to landscape our backyard. Neighbors got burned by some of these guys after starting work then disappearing on them. After doing our research and getting numerous estimates we hired DG Construction. David helped us plan out our yard based on OUR needs and what best suited US personally. Him and his team always showed up on time and stayed late until the daily work was done. No disappearing in the middle of the job! We did have a minor hiccup with some defective materials that were delivered by a supplier, but David corrected the problem right away with them before we even had to ask.
