So I was having a nail issue and my place was closed so I saw that DESOTO NAIL BAR was open so I called and I asked DO YOU ALL DO BUILDER GEL i was told yes. i get there and when I tell you I felt run that it showed in the nail. First of all I DIDN'T GET BUILDER GEL. i got something totally different. First mistake he did them so thin and when you asked he kinda got fly and yes I started looking at video in front of him cause I know this service was going left but I was trusting THE process. Then I picked green for the color it look cute on the book but on my nail NOOOOOOO. He did the gel nails soooo darn quick and thick that it looked like a kid painted my nails streak lines everywhere. Then when he finished he was like wash your hands AFTER he put the cuticle oil on. So I am looking at my nails streak like my nails ate not going to last. Now mind you my nails are LONG AND NATURAL. I was like They are not going to last one day. Guess what they didn't last at all that I had to call MY ORIGINAL PLACE and PAY to get them REDONE. Didn't do no good to even call cause they are NOT going to give a refund at all. My original nail person was like this is not builder gel at all they just put a hardner and alot of gel polish l. The customer service is amazing! I went for my son's birthday. Typically, I trim his nails at home, but he always makes a fuss, so I decided to come here for a kids' pedi. The prices are unmatched for the area. $20 for a kids pedicure was a steal! Everywhere else I go for a pedicure is more expensive, so they had me at the price point. I decided I'd get a pedicure, a fill, and an eyebrow wax. I can say I was overall pleased with everything initially. My pedicure was good, and my feet were nice and soft. I got regular polish, and they were painted really well. My fill and shape were nice. I do almond, so I'm very picky. They came out great! My eyebrows were PERFECT! Not too thin and arched just right. The only thing negative I have to say is that 2 days later, 2 nails broke. I always have my nails done, and my nails never break. Overall, I will definitely be returning for the pedicure and eyebrows for sure. If I do get a fingernail service again, it will probably only be a gel manicure. read more

I 'm extremely upset and concerned about the way my mother ( Diana ) was treated while working at this business.She have been working at this business for 5 years and help build clients for the business. But recently ,she was harassed and threatened by a coworker ( Kevin and Nancy) who made it clear they intended to cause her physical harm. Fearing for her safety, my mother called the police -- which anyone would do in such a serious situation. Instead of supporting her or taking steps to ensure a safe work environment, the manager ( Danny )fired her simply for involving law enforcement. No one should be punished for protecting themselves, especially in a place where they should feel safe and respected. This kind of response from management is unacceptable, and it speaks volumes about the values and leadership at this business. I hope others take caution when considering working here. We are currently working with our lawyer and the Texas work force department to bring this to light. Bad business overall. read more

I had the worst experience. They were ugly towards me. I showed a picture of what I wanted and the lady seemed like she could do it. While doing my nails she started looking at the time making it very obvious she was rushing to beat the time that they close. I even offered that I just come back the next day. She said "Girl I'm half way done" If what I wanted couldn't be done with the time that I walked in they should have said that. I would have been fine to go the next day. They were laughing at the fact I was uncomfortable. I asked if I was done, another lady said let me put oil. She poured a puddle of oil in one hand and walked away laughing. Very ugly people. On March 20, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. I went to Desoto Nail bar and they messed up my eyebrows. I felt a lot of hairs being pulled during the service so I asked the lady to let me look in the Mirror. She put two more strips on the middle of my eyebrow then pulled the strips Off. When she gave me the mirror I saw she took too much hair off. I naturally have thick eyebrows. I asked for the manager and the manager started laughing When she saw me and stated, "What do you want me to do I can't make your eyebrows grow back." I had to ask for an apology and the manager didn't want to admit the employee messed up. The employee refused to apologize. I showed pictures of how thick my eyebrows normally are. The manager said I was lying and my eyebrows weren't thick when I came to the shop today. She said she would review the camera to see. I told her go right ahead. I was brought to tears because I know the Asian nail salons think black women like thin eyebrows and think black women draw eyebrows on. That's not me I don't even know how to use makeup. The customer service was unacceptable. The manager brought another customer into the conversation and that customer agreed that my eyebrows were messed up. The manager was unprofessional and started pointing at me stating, "You are a liar you are a liar." The employee joined in with her calling me a LIAR. Do not support Desoto Nail Bar on Hampton Rd. and Parkerville Rd! It's the principle of the situation. If you know an employee is not good at something don't let them do it. Again I repeat Do not support Desoto Nail Bar on Hampton Rd. and Parkerville Rd! I waited for the manager to finish her client and the employee that messed up my eyebrows finally came to me and apologized because I sat there for 1 hour waiting for manager to review the camera. I was literally in tears. The employee said she was sorry she didn't know how I wanted my eyebrows. I was able to accept that better than her not saying anything. The customer that was brought into the situation was more sympathetic and apologized. The employee told the manager I was waiting for her. I tried this nail bar for the 2nd time and I'm still not completely sure how I feel about it. It's a very nice nail salon. Great decor and frozen beverages. The techs are fairly friendly as well. However....their work is not great. The first time I came I got a manicure and the tech cut my cuticles up! Today I tried the salon again because it is SO close to my home. I got the Next Gen Nails and my eyebrows waxed. My technician was once again pretty nice (same guy) but I got cut again! Also, my nails are not the shape I asked for....I advised him several times that I wanted them to be shaped narrowly and look natural. However after his 3rd attempt I just settled for a wider nail shape than I'm used to. I hate fat nails! Finally... the lady who did my eyebrows literally did them in 3 minutes. I had to ask her to make them look alike when she finished because they were TWO DIFFERENT SHAPES!!! She took another 2 MINUTES to tweeze them to look somewhat similar but they still don't match. She did NOT take her time at all and rushed out of the room when she finished (leaving me in there). So overall....if you're in a bind it will get the job done. I don't even know where to begin or if I should start because after reading the other reviews it's more of the same. Nice establishment. Poor, poor quality of work. I'm sure they won't miss me but I was diligently searching for a nail salon closer to home and when I stumbled on Desoto Nail Bar, I thought it was my new spot. I had been a loyal client of my previous nail salon for 6 years! It wasn't a fancy spot and they don't serve drinks but I found a technician that did excellent work and when he fell short he would admit it and without my asking discount it. I continued to go to Desoto Nail Bar after several less-than-par mani and pedi hoping to eventually get a nail technician that did great work--after 5 Pedi's and 5 gel mani's, I'm done! The last technician did a horrible job on my nails and I returned the very next day to show them how bad it was and they said I could get a 20% discount for the next time. Oh yea, he cut my cuticle and it bleed pretty badly which I feel warrants a discount anyways! Well after the 3rd day of this horrible mani, I couldn't take looking at my nails--I was embarrassed to show my hand in public. I went back to have them re-done that day but the wait on the technician was going to be at least an hour so I decided not to wait. I went out of town and returned to the DNS which now was 10 days. After much debate (because I refused to pay again for a job that wasn't done right the first time) they agreed to a polish change for free. I should have settled with the first job because the second one was worse--3 cuts, lumpy polish, the line around my cuticle very uneven. He glued one of my nails for the 2nd time which popped off the same evening. And wanted to charge me $5 for one nail because the tip broke and I actually agreed to pay but left the shop without paying because I was so unsatisfied when he was done I walked out and completely forgot about the $5. But when I remembered after I was home, I didn't go back to pay and as I write this review and look at my nails, I am so glad that I didn't!! You can go if you want to but it's at your own risk and you can't say you weren't warned.Oh and one more thing, My pedi was $40 and mani $45 (no 20% disc) so obviously cost has nothing to do with quality at this place! read more

10 /10. Ever since management changed (a woman named Mia currently manages) I have not had one bad experience. All of the prices are reasonable! The staff is considerate and they offer varying levels of skill set. In the past if I've ever felt less than satisfied, I've never had a problem coming back within like a two day frame and they would fix it no problem. They offer beverages in a peaceful and serene environment with mask and plastic barriers for protection during this pandemic. RUDE!Lacks customer service! This nail bar is located near my sister's house in Desoto. I came here to get my lip waxed. I literally sat there waiting for someone to just GREET me for about 5-10 minutes. The employees were even walking to the front getting things from the front desk but no one cared to greet me or even asked what service I needed. I literally had to ask a employee myself how much longer it would be before someone even said anything to me and she then got me a technician. This is crazy!I have never been in a salon that people didn't get greet their customers when they first come in. I have been going to this nail bar so YEARS and I have never had a complaint until today. When I walked in I asked for a manicure with dip powder. The man then came up to me with acrylic nails , so when I told him that I just wanted a manicure with the dip powder told me that they didn't do that.... mind you that I've gotten them done here before. I told him that it was fine and that I'll take the full set. For one he didn't ask me what shape I wanted he just did whatever he felt like. He also cut me with the nail filer and just kept on going. I will never come back to this place ever again. I wish I could give lest than one star. My biggest issue is minor to the rest. I was finishing up with my nails and I realized I was bleeding. I was getting ready to put sanitizer on my finger to clean it before he put the top coat on it. He tells me no don't do that. I'm thinking he had something else. No! He polishes right over it and then put some kind of green stuff on there don't tell me anything about what it is or ask me is this ok to put it on. The rest was not fully taking the old polish off before putting these on so you can see it. He wasn't friendly at at. Only good I can say is I like the way he shaped my nails and the length is nice. First of all let me warn everyone now, do not fucking go here!!!! I went in here to get a simple soak off and walked out with a injured nail. (Not to mention the fact that there was only two customers in the building initially) There were various amount of workers throughout to help and assist other customers so it shouldn't have taken that long to get my nails soaked off. First of all whoever helped me acted like she didn't know how to soak off simple nails. When I told her I needed a soak off she began to clip my nails and proceeded to cut my actual nail and my fucking skin. She didn't care that she had ripped a part of my fuckin nail and skin off. If I knew was going to be man handled like that I would've simply took my ass to Walmart to by some acetone and filed the nails off myself. I thought it would've been time consuming for me, although she took 48 fucking minutes. She proceeded to leave me there TWICE while she went to go do eyebrows. Once again, Mia comes thru! Came in for my regular nail job, but this time I got a manicure. I never had a shoulder massage included with my mani! It was the best. I'm used to getting the regular hand massage, but the shoulder massage, what a great way to end a bad day!!! On top of that, I used my own nails. When I 1st started seeing her, my nails were weak and brittle. She grew my nails out to where I don't need to put tips on them anymore. This chick knows her stuff! Based on this experience, I will not be returning! The guy here, who I think is a manager,"Kevin", did my nails for the first time yesterday,10/12/19. I had to come back for him to fix a crack that happened this morning, 10/13/19. I did nothing strenuous with my hands because I just had them done like I always do. He accused me of being the cause of it cracking and not his work. This really ticked me off! He was rude with the handling of my hands during the first and second visits. He also spoke to me as though he really was irritated with me being in the chair. He didn't get a tip the first time he did my nails, and he won't be getting one this time either. I gave up my go to nail shop to come to DeSoto Nail Bar. Every time I come I get the red carpet treatment. Cindy takes the best care of my feet. I have calluses so that's no small task. The store is clean, multiple TV screens, & wifi. I don't know what there other reviewers experienced, but this is star treatment at its finest. There are adult beverages to enhance ur services. I decided to try this new place out because my usual nail tech was off work yesterday, one my nails broke, I needed a fill badly, and I will be too busy for the next few day to go where I usually go. And I am on the look for a place that does better pedicures. Beautiful place, good variety of nail polishes and they serve drinks. The manager speaks English and understands requests. First I got my pedicure. I really like that they have the plastic lining for sanitary purposes. I got the traditional pedicure which is the cheapest one at $27. She used the pumice stone to scrub my feet, but not the cheese grater thingy ( which I think is the best for getting rid of dead skin). I saw another tech using it on her client that was getting one of the higher priced pedis. So I guess you have to spend $40 to get your feet really scrubbed. However, they do put hot towels on your feet no matter which pedicure you get. Overall she did a good job. Moving along to my nails. Kenny did my fill. He was really friendly, but honestly, he does not have the skill set to be a nail technician. He applied the acrylic unevenly so it feels very lumpy to the touch. He basically added acrylic thickly to the bottom of my nails where I needed the fill, but didn't extend it evenly all the way up to the tip of the nail. I wear my nails coffin shaped and he told me he specializes in coffin and almond shaped nails. #lies. The nail he redid looks nothing like the other nails. The nail is longer than the others and crooked. His painting skills are on a 2nd grade level. He applied two HEAVY coats of polish. The nail polish was literally standing up on my nails and started dripping onto my cuticles. I asked him to re polish a few nails. I will definitely have to let these grow out so that I can take these nails off and get a fresh set. The funny thing is that Kenny kept bragging about how good they looked and I can tell he really believes in his heart that he does a great job. At this point it was after 8pm so I went along with his ego trip. Overall I was not satisfied and had it not been for me getting 20% off my services for their grand opening, I would have complained to the manager. read more

Beautiful place, friendly consultants but the quality work is rushed and unsatisfactory. When I went it was around 6:50pm, waited for service which I don't mind at all because they were busy. I got Gel Nail in Spice Berry #78. The lady who did the work was friendly but the work quality was poor, I asked for square nail and they were filled uneven, it looked as if I had a little kid who can't color in the lines did the work. I paid $28 after the 20% off they were having, compared to the $35 they would charge. I pay $30 in Irving for the same work and free drinks and they always do the best job. I guess they were rushing to get the work done and attend to all the customers but just like the other customers I am paying my money to get the service. I left there around 8:30pm after closing very dissatisfied, I didn't say anything then as I was very upset and couldn't stay longer to get this corrected. I started calling ahead to make a appointment to avoid getting stuck with some random person. If I could give this place less than one star I definitely would . I would honestly give it a -5 stars. This is my second time here at DeSoto Nail Bar and my second horrible experience with them . The first time I came with my mom and she told them that we needed two full sets and two gel pedicures. There was one lady on my feet and one on my moms feet . When the lady was done with my feet she proceeded to start on my moms nails... they were getting ready to close in about 20 minutes and all the workers were rushing trying to leave . I asked who was going to do my nails and the lady said "you never said you wanted your nails done, and it's too late now we are getting ready to close." I was shocked as was the lady sitting next to me but I didn't even make a big deal. I just said okay and waited for my mom. Today I came in with my mom again for a gel pedicure and full dip set on both . I'm getting my pedicure done by the lady who completely rushed through because she saw another lady that is a regular and she wanted to hurry and get to her pedicure. Little does she know I work in the service industry and am an extremely good tipper . But I wasn't too worried about that . She was done with my pedicure and proceeded to start to put the gel on my toes , and before I go on let me add that the book that they give you to choose colors from is EXTREMELY misleading . Both me and my moms colors came out completely different than what we picked . But I'm still not saying anything at this point because I hate complaining , the point where I started having a major issue and I couldn't keep my comments to myself was when the lady pointed to my toes because the polish was getting chipped from the solar thing. She pointed to my toes and had a stern look on her face as if it was my fault when in reality she was just rushing and kept sliding the solar machine to far down on my toes , messing them up each time . I am no stranger to gel pedicures or nails I know how to keep my feet still. I still let her finish and kept a good attitude for the lady who was starting on my nails .... I should've known there was going to be a problem when the lady couldn't figure out how to get my nails off because the soaking technique was not working because at my regular nail shop I get dip with a gel overlay , she started holding my hand up and asking everyone what she should do and they responded that they didn't know and she should just drill them off and continue soaking . So that's what she did which took 45 minutes and when she was done my nails were thin as paper , I wasn't too worried because I get tips on my nails anyway but before I knew it she was dipping my hand in the powder without even asking if I wanted tips or what shape or length . I then told her "just forget it, just take this powder off and I won't even get my nails done" and I left . This is the second time I've been here and both experiences were horrible , there's a select few who can actually do quality nails in there and even they need to step their game up when it comes to being educated on their craft . They didn't even ask if I wanted anything to drink compared to the other ladies who was getting full service ( nails, and feet). The lady was who did my pedicure was pleasant.
