First consultation and I'm met with a lady after who parks me in a side room with a consultation. Prior to this the dental hygienist repeatedly told me "we won't sell you on anything you don't need." After the preliminary x-rays the hygienist went in to look at my gums. You know when they throw a number for root planing this guy was throwing up 4s, 5s, and 6s in milliseconds. All of a sudden I have horrible gum disease I never thought I had. The lady giving me a "dental plan" of $2000+ after insurance was telling me of how many state of the art laser interrogations I needed that insurance wouldn't cover at all. Fast forward to my dental cleaning. Btw I have to pay out of pocket a significant amount bc "I have gum disease now". They numbed me up so bad I couldn't go back into work. I had 2 sessions of periodontal scaling and root planing. The first lasted 30 minutes. The second lasted 15 minutes. These should have gone for an hour and a half. I was referred to Dr. Jarrod by a friend, and from the moment I met him, I felt heard. He took the time to really listen and understand what I had been going through. That's when I knew I could trust him. After examining me, he explained that I actually didn't need root canals. Instead, the issue was that the previous filling was too large and wide, and a crown should have been done instead. He sat down with me and walked me through the entire process, including which materials would work best. Because I have a tight and heavy bite, we decided on a full gold crown for durability and longevity. What really stood out was his compassion--he knew I had been in pain for a long time and offered to do the treatment that same day.
