We came here to watch the game and have dinner. The staff was super friendly and willing to put the game on the Tv for us. We were also able to get a table for large group of 9. The food was solid we tried a lot of different stuff none of which was bad. We specifically enjoyed their steak, however there was less than what we saw in some picture and expected. The price is a bit high but that's normal for this higher end place. Downtown area so parking is on the street or some garages

Really unique atmosphere in the heart of downtown Boise! Great vibes and great drinks! Food: 4/5. The drinks are great! I had the Hemingway Daiquiri and something with the word Deadman in it. The second one was tropical and delicious! We started with the Queso Fundido which was so hot it burnt my mouth. My tastebuds may have been impacted by that... but I just thought it was ok. I had the chicken enchiladas which were also ok. My husband had the prime rib dip which was delicious! Service: 4/5. It took a little while to get our drinks, but after that the service was good. We had two lovely ladies helping us out and were very nice! Atmosphere: 5/5. This is such a fun and unique location and I love the atmosphere. It really makes you feel like you're somewhere else. Parking downtown can be a bit of a pain, but it is fun to make a trip out of it. Kid friendly: 2/5. This restaurant is geared more towards adults I would say and we didn't see any kids in the restaurant however there is a kids menu. A really fun location with great drinks! Excited to go back and try more food.

Very hip restaurant located in downtown Boise. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was a solid 4stars. Service however was not so great. We sat for over 15 mins and our waiter never came by. Finally we ordered and someone else brought our food. Never checked on us again. Improve your service and your score will go up.

We chose to add the chips and salsa. Good call.

We try this place during "A Taste of Boise" week every year. This is a very good kitchen (you can watch them in action). Unique preparations and presentations of the menu offerings make this a great place. You can see from the pics what we had and the costs. Maybe paying for chips and salsa isn't your "thing", but we opted to try them. Pretty good for gringo-made. We are confident that you will find a favorite on their menu. With so many options on the 8th street promenade, do not miss this one.

In a world of ordinary I like to stumble across places that would prefer to be a little different! This place is a little bit of a gem! Been here a couple of times for a drink and to watch a game of some sort...they have TV's at the bar which is always a plus, in my opinion. In will say the service and the cocktails were very good and I loved the thought they put in to the menu! Like to try to eat healthy, plant based / pescatarian and this place had some interesting options. I came in the other night for dinner and had the green chili and bean enchilada ...great choice! Crazy good flavors and some thought put in to the dish! So many places are so bland and uninspired in dishes that don't have meat in them! It is easy to make something made from a pig taste good, damn I do miss pork.. To make something that carries flavor and texture without the easy things takes thought and talent! Well done! Will definitely be back and would recommend ! KT

Great food and drinks. Got a cider that was probably the best I've ever had! For food, I had the fish and chips. Shoowee, was that a great meal! The coating on the fish was light and had the perfect crisp. And the fries and slaw were the cherry on top. The patio vibe was great and I loved that the patio seating had water misters. Service was hit or miss. There were a few staff members that were very nice while others weren't so friendly. Also, it was hard to get their attention at times. I think the food more than made up for the service, though.

I have been to Diablo & Sons several times! I love the rabbit room and the general feel and decor of the restaurant. The service is fast and the staff are polite. Here is my hang up with diablo, they used to have these AMAZING artichoke tacos they were so good and such a great vegetarian option, but they took them off the menu. I also feel their dessert menu could tie into more of the Mexican traditional dishes, rather than more of the American flare that it currently has especially if they are doing menu changes occasionally. I will say, the cocktails are amazing and there's a bunch of seating in the restaurant, but I do really miss those artichoke tacos and the dessert menu does hold me back from having this be an ultimate top-tier destination, but it is still definitely in my go to rotation I love the green chili mac & cheese. The skirt steak is super good. It's a great Boise option. Definitely steps above your every day chain restaurants I recommend you check out Diablo & sons.

Another great dinner in Boise. I've had Diablo & Sons on my list for a while after seeing their cute outdoor patio & seeing the positive reviews on Yelp. Since it was dusty and a chance of rain, we chose to sit at the bar inside and enjoy the open air views of folks walking by. Our bar tender was friendly and quick to get us service. I really enjoyed their gin-based take on a margarita (I ordered two) and they had a great selection of craft beers on tap. We decided to do several appetizers for our dinner: chips and salsa, queso fundido, and the crab quesadilla. The SALSA was SO good - I almost licked the bowl and it had a good level of spice to it. I normally don't like queso fundido bc it's just a big block of cheese, but theirs had beans and other toppings in there and was creamy and not a hunk of solid cheese. The crab quesadilla had a ton of REAL crab and not overly cheesy and came with a pineapple salsa on the side. We will definitely be back for another meal.

Located on what seemed to be the busiest street for food and entertainment on a late night in Boise, this place looked very cozy and welcoming. There were a ton of seats and well equipped fans and heaters under their outside seating area. We sat outside which was fun for people watching and enjoying the vibes of downtown. The food was pretty average. The charbroiled broccolini and deep fried cheese curds were the best part for me. My tacos seemed a little bland and the shell itself was flimsy. The starters seemed like the safe choice there. Our server was super efficient and very accommodating so I appreciated that.

Great friendly service. We were here on a Wed night...great vibe! Devil egg was very good...gorgeous decor!

This our order receipt. Not impressed.

Well to say the least, tonight Diablo & Sons made it right and our serivice/server, food was spot on, and drinks were great. After Dave reached out in an earlier review, he made a above and beyond response and we had a great night. Way different than the last experience, even though it was stacked with paying customers at that time. Still a great night and the food was awesome. I want to thank Dave, Mikeal, and our server for the outstanding experience tonight.

I was traveling and ate here. Fun atmosphere and good server! Burger was a bit over done and dry for my taste. Excellent variety of beers. All the bits of atmosphere, service and salt and pepper on table made the experience overall a great one. Louisiana native.

Customer service: good Ambiance: casual Cleanliness; very clean Menu: salads, soups, sandwiches, steaks, pork chops Bar: full bar Seating: indoors, outside, bar area (good for large groups) Located in the bustling city center, this place has a great vibe and a cool menu. I ordered the brussels, and the oysters for starters and then the Cowboy Wagu Steak (under seasoned, and slightly over cooked). My husband got the flatiron steak (cooked perfectly), and our friend ordered the salmon (slightly overcooked). All-in-all, the meal was pretty good. Not excellent, but a 3.5 stars for food and 4 stars for customer service.

The menu has a few things you can order from burritos, tacos, tortas and other fun items. We ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it has rice, beans, meat of choice & lettuce and avocado it was pretty good. We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..

If you're looking for a spot that perfectly balances elevated flavors with a relaxed, approachable…read morevibe, Madre - Boutique Taqueria is a must-visit. We dropped in for Taco Tuesday and were thoroughly impressed by both the kitchen's creativity and the charming atmosphere. The Food The star of the night was undoubtedly the OG Crispy Tacos. At a fantastic $5 Tuesday special, these are a masterclass in nostalgia done right. They feature a unique "crispy soft shell" that provides a satisfying crunch without shattering, loaded with seasoned ground beef, fresh lettuce, cheese, pinto beans, and a hot sauce that packs just the right punch. It's the ultimate elevated comfort food. I also branched out to try the Korean Short Rib Taco ($8). This is where Madre's "boutique" identity really shines. The richness of the short rib was beautifully offset by the acidic crunch of kimchee and pickled relish, while the peanut sauce added a creamy, nutty depth that tied the fusion profile together perfectly. Drinks & Atmosphere To wash it all down, I opted for a classic Daiquiri, which was balanced and refreshing--clearly made by someone who understands craft cocktails. My fiancé enjoyed The Bruce, a crisp, local beer that paired effortlessly with the bold spices of the tacos. And before we left, we split a margarita. The atmosphere at Madre is "quaint" in the best way possible. We chose to sit on the patio, which offers a lovely outdoor escape. The setting is so integrated with the neighborhood charm that we even had a local squirrel zip right under our feet across the patio--a moment that added a touch of whimsical, nature-filled character to our meal. Service The service was top-notch; our server was genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks stayed full and our Taco Tuesday experience was seamless. Final Verdict Madre - Boutique Taqueria manages to feel like a hidden gem while delivering world-class flavors. Whether you're there for the high-value OG specials or the more adventurous fusion offerings, you're in for a treat. We'll definitely be back for more patio time!

The place is located in a pretty nondescript area of town close to BSU. They were open early and that was another reason we chose to visit since we had just landed nearby at BOI and were looking for lunch. They do not offer table service. You order and pay at the counter and then they bring your food to you. We opted to take some menus to the table since we hadn't been before and then we went back to the counter to order. George was a very nice gentleman and treated us well while we were there. He took the time to get to know us and even used our names when he addressed us while we were there. They have a daily special on their menu that my wife wanted to order but we were told that those are not yet up and running and so she opted for the bean and rice burrito. That option is pretty disappointing if you ask us. Literally some beans, (your choice of pinto or black) with some white rice rolled up in a tortilla. Something that you'd expect to find on a kid's menu. I had the Idaho spud & chorizo taco, and my aunt had the fish taco. Both were very good but, in my opinion, not worth the $8 price tag for one taco. My cousin had the chicken tinga burrito and that stole the show! A very hearty amount of chicken tinga with rice, beans, onions and cheese rolled up in a large tortilla. It was actually worth the $14 price. While we were there, a couple of other gentlemen came in for lunch, and I saw that they had ordered the chips and salsa along with the rice and beans. I watched as they mixed the rice and beans and then dipped their tortilla chips in it like a dip. That is a great idea if you're going there for apps and drinks. They do charge $5 for chips and salsa too so be aware of that. Overall, I would say that this place is overpriced and I most likely wouldn't revisit but I like people to make their own decisions so if you're in the Boise area and looking for a taqueria, give them a try. Who knows, you may find your new favorite place. Cheers.

After 2 more meals, I'm pulling back the rest of the menu to 3 stars. Meal of a beef tomal and azada enchalada with beans and rice. The beef tomal was pretty flavorless. The azada in the enchilada was the same used in the street taco, so it was really good. But then generic enchalada sauce, basic refried beans, and rice that was so dry there were crunchies - but not like the good, flavorful, caramelized paella crunchy. Asked the manager if they made the tomals because it was a way different beef flavor, and she insisted "yes." She was very disengaged, but at least I saw someone in the dining room cleaning the tables. Second meal was a pork tomal and lingua enchilada with beans and rice. Pork was better than the beef. There were a couple bites of the lingua that seemed... a little off, like it was old. Same beans, but at least the rice this time wasn't as dehydrated. The person attending the counter seemed to have an attitude and didn't feel like he wanted to be there. Never saw any of the tables wiped off in my 45 minutes there for lunch. So, street tacos - fantastic. Everything else so far, basic Mexican fare.
