Instead as local as F*ck their slogan should be rude as F*ck!!! I was patiently waiting, only to be overlooked. Not once but twice. They had customers but it wasn't ridiculously crowded. I don't mind them taking a customer who came in after me the first time but I know she saw me standing there waiting to get my order taken and then to be ignored and overlooked again!! It's just rude and I never plan on returning there!! The horrible climax of my nightmarish visit to Federal "Hell"--the worst neighborhood in Baltimore and thus the world--was being poisoned in body and mind by what turned out to actually be the devil's doughnuts. I did feel sympathy for the poor salesperson, who was forced to debase our shared language by describing each of their idiotic gimmicky sugar rings in depressing detail for what felt like hours, as though she were the docent in a museum of garbage. I wanted to blow my brains out the entire time I was there but the doughnuts themselves somehow managed to be the worst part. While I understand doughnuts are by design fried candy breads, these morning-annihilating sugar bombs offer only assaultive sweetness, short-circuiting the taste buds and catapulting the stomach into nauseated oblivion. While barely differentiated in terms of flavor, each one felt like a new kind of punishment for the crimes of having a tongue, brain and heart. Maybe I chose poorly, but maybe they should offer one traditional doughnut shop standard (sans flavor-blasting), my desire for which made me decide to enter this satanic institution in the first place. The coffee was fine but priced as though it contained flecks of gold. The employees could not have been nicer but overall I wish I had just set a $20 bill on fire. read more

These are some of the best donuts evah!....they have amazing combinations of which I most memorably have had the maple bacon donut which is a salty sugary delight! The other donut, which I cant recall at the moment...maybe the coconut??? (I will edit later) was also amazing! I would never consider myself a sweets person however, if I am to eat pastries/bake goods, they MUST be calorie worthy....and these completely are! Plus the owner/baker was AWESOME and very nice to chat with!...but know that they are not open all day as a donut shop, they share their space with a pizza shop...which was an intersting but great way to get it in! read more

I thought long and hard about what review would be my 200th, and this just seemed fitting. THIS IS MY FAVORITE DOUGHNUT place AND it's my home hometown of Baltimore, MD! I've done some traveling and always look around for the latest and greatest breakfast treats. This takes the cake. Some people may be confused when looking for it, as it's not the typical bakery, but rather a pizza place with a doughnut spot. The actual doughnut is perfect. I don't think they have cake doughnuts, but the yeast ones served here make up for that. Some of my favorite flavors are blackberry lime, blueberry basil, and samoas (like the girl scout cookie). A friend of mine often orders minis ahead of time and brings them to work. Last time I went here, I shared two doughnuts with two friends, and after a couple of bites I literally found myself jumping up and down because they were THAT good. Attempted to visit Diablo Doughnuts multiple times, finally got my donuts on my fourth try (they runout/close early!). Intriguingly designed doughnuts with the perfect balance. The donuts are not styles over substance or cloyingly sweet. I would recommend the The Creme Brulee and S'mores, and if you are looking for something savory or willing to try out some funky flavors, they have them too! Very friendly and helpful service. Tried Diablo Donuts for the first time the other day...To start, there was an issue with our order, we did not get the donuts we had ordered and when we spoke with the manager he was extremely rude, short and highly unprofessional. I was craving donuts so I decided to check out these donuts and I was definitely not disappointed. I had the chocolate marshmallow and creme brûlée donuts when I visited. Both of the donuts were fresh and super flavorful! I felt the marshmallow donut was a little too sweet though, but that was just my opinion. If you have a big sweet tooth go for the marshmallow! The inside of the store could have been a little better, it just felt very cramped with limiting seating. At the time, the display was nothing to brag about but they have updated the display since I last visited. I believe they are moving to a new location in Fed Hill at some point so I will be sure to visit again when it opens there as I'm sure it has a bigger space for seating. read more

The name "Diablo Doughnuts" caught my eye while walking by at night and I stopped in this morning on my way out of Baltimore -- so glad I did! The doughnuts are fantastic, delicious and creative. The donuts were great, the prices were not. $3 for a donut? Mine was just a maple glazed yeast donut with some Old Bay seasoned salt on it. My coworker got one that had an Oreo in the middle. Would've loved to try this place out but it was closed. And, yes, I did check the times to make sure it was supposed to be open. If you're going to post hours of operation then you should be open during those times. I made a trip specifically to try this place out so, yeah, that was a waste of my time. And, the owner of the pizza shop which is where this place operates out of was annoyed about the no-show as well. He implied this happens a lot. So, my guess is that this place won't be in business long. Update 8/10/16 - The owner sent me a "message" stating the owner of the pizza shop was actually a homeless man he pays to clean the floors. And that I should know who I am talking to before leaving a bad review. Not sure why this guy offered us pizza then? Either way, the owner's message was not useful. Don't make it in to Baltimore on a regular basis, but I always stop here for coffee and a doughnut or two when I do. I'm writing about the service more than the food here. We arrived at Diablo at ~1:00 on a Saturday after lunch only to find that they were closed with a "sold out" sign in the window. My 4 year old son broke into tears immediately as he had his heart set on a Unicorn Fart doughnut. I love that's it's locally own and supports other local businesses as well. These doughnuts literally melt in your mouth they're so delicious.
