It cost $4.35 for a Bagel with a Gourmet cream cheese flavor. They have a variety of sweet and savory cream cheese flavors. I got the everything bagel with chive cream cheese and really thoroughly enjoyed it. They were generous with the cream cheese. They don't have a big coffee menu - only hot drip coffee and iced cold brew coffee that's made earlier in the day and it's out on the counter for people to fill up. Things that will make this five stars is a bigger coffee menu, options for lactose free/non cows milk for the coffee creamer, and other options for sides with a bagel sandwich besides chips, such as an apple for people trying to be healthier. This is a quaint little bagel shop in Parkville. Nice crowd for a Saturday morning. Service was exemplary fast easy inconvenient only ordered two bagels and some of the cream cheese spread. Food Handling Concerns The food here is pretty good and the staff is friendly, but the nice lady at the register often times collects the (dirty) money and turns right around and grabs the bagels BAREHANDED without gloves or washing her hands first. It's so sad to see that type of behavior in this day and age. This is one of those old school places that you just know is going to be amazing when you pull up. We missed breakfast at our hotel and ended up hunting down some bagels on the way to DC. My husband said, "Well this sucks...we don't have this back home!" He had a build your own bagel sandwich with eggs, Swiss cheese, sausage, and bacon. He ordered it with an onion bagel but they were out, so they called (we had ordered ahead online) and offered to put it on an onion roll. His sandwich was AMAZING, and I appreciate the customer service of calling us so we didn't have to get there and wait. I also built my own sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and their Bermuda Onion and Chive cream cheese on a rye bagel. It was also delicious. The superstar was the side potatoes. They reminded me of the potatoes my mom used to cook over a fire when we'd go camping as kids. Super yummy, and a generous portion for the price. They aren't doing an authentic NY bagel, crunchy outside, chewy inside, but their unique styling is delicious as its own thing. Everything is made fresh, with the sandwiches being freshly prepared for a reasonable price. Their cream cheese is yummy but could use more salt to enhance the flavor. Toasting is recommended, but sometimes, the delicate toppings on the bagel can get burned when going through the toaster. I would weigh your desire for crunch versus the flavor of your bagel's seasoned toppings. Ideally, they could bring out that crunch in their cooking process. I'd been here for bfast, and it was fine, so why not give lunch a try? Ordered a sandwich, menu says "bagel, roll, wrap, wheat or white". I asked for a roll. "We don't have rolls, we have bagels." So much for that. Then the cashier was blunt and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I didn't plan to leave a tip but she skipped through the process anyway including the option for a receipt. I have been here several times but today I tried what will definitely be my favorite! The "jersey boy" sandwich on a fresh rye bagel! It comes with double Taylor's pork roll and egg and cheese and it was delicious! While I was there I overheard 4 different people order the same thing so you know it's a winner. The home fries were great as always and the portion huge. They also have a few cute tables to sit outside. They will pass you your food through a little screen door so eating there is also a great option. So much better then a typical microwaved fast food breakfast. Highly recommend! read more

Looked on Yelp for a new breakfast spot and found this place. Nice clean interior, clean glass case where the 's are kept which is a plus.... I ordered a everything bagel and said it twice because he asked twice "red flag" when they asked more then once your order is most likely going to be wrong. So the bagel was wrong the hash browns and bacon were decent but the pickle was soft and pretty tough to bite through so I just gave up lol. I told him my order was wrong but he offered no discount or real apology, which sucked but whatever. Overall it's not a bad place to have breakfast. I would give it another shot. read more

I figure I should update my review from 2012 as I've long since moved from the direct area and Bagel Bistro is now under new ownership AND has worked on renovating the interior of the store (something that was MUCH needed). First, since the day Bagel Bistro has opened I've gotten 1 thing: chicken salad sandwich on a bagel. The chicken salad has stayed consistent the ENTIRE time -- and that includes under new ownership. That's pretty impressive. Don't fix what ain't broken, right? OH, technically, I get 2 things here: the aforementioned sandwich and bulk bagels in a bag. The bagels have also remained consistent (very good) through the years. Regarding the store itself... the new owners have slowly been making BIG visual changes to the store. Very necessary -- that old store was literally falling apart and by the end of that ownership was really gross. For now, the black/white checkerboard tile remains (as dingy as ever).. as do those black and white chairs and booths (also a little dingy) -- albeit re-arranged in a way that does work and makes the store look different. The self-serve soda fountain is a welcomed addition. My biggest grip are the hours. CLOSES AT 2PM ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY! 2PM!? But is open until 4 during the week?? Not only that, but they shut down food service by at least 1:45. It's like wanting Chick Fil A on a Sunday... I seem to always get into the area around 1:30 and can't make it to Bagel Bistro before they shut down... read more

Will never go here again. Walked in for a bagels at 1pm. I asked for a dozen bagels to go. The employee told me she couldn't sell me any bagels. I was confused. You can't sell me any bagels? Why? The bins were full of bagels. She said the manager or owner wouldn't allow her to sell bagels because he was saving them for customers that wanted to order sandwiches. You're kidding me!? I'm a customer. You sell bagels. But you're not selling them to me in the hopes that other customers that are not there eventually come in and other sandwiches. What? What kind of business is this? I felt bad for the employee and thanked her and left. I will never come here again. This business can go out of business as far as I'm concerned. These owners are idiots! What business denies a customer wanting to make a purchase and give them money for said purchase because that business is hoping other future unknown customers come in later to buy more expensive items, hopefully? My husband and I have been eating here weekly for about a year. Today was the last time. A woman cam in carrying a medium sized dog and went back to the food prep area. To my knowledge, other than service animals ( which this dog was not) , pets are not allowed in restaurants. I saw one of the food handlers go back to play with the dog and then return to her station without washing her hands. I love my dog and he's very spoiled but I don't expect everyone to feel about him the way that I do. Hand washing in the food industry is a must! read more

The only reason I come here on occasion is because they have decent bagels in the nearby area. It used to be great, but with new ownership it's gone down hill. Sure, they cleaned it up, made it look prettier, and added a grill...but the rudeness of the workers there now make it a nuisance to get a breakfast sandwich. The first time I went under new ownership, I tried to just get my bagel with a debit card and was told they have a $5 minimum on cards...okay, fine. A sign noting this would make this much clearer. The line is supposed to wrap around the store, but there aren't any signs indicating this either. So they rudely tell customers, "The line goes this way, people." I asked for a medium soda, and with an attitude they told me, "there's only one size..?" Okay, how am I supposed to know that? If you're looking for a quick, somewhat tasty bagel you can come here if you're prepared for stuck-up employees and no clarity of how their business operates. read more

Not sure what has occurred to our beloved Bagel Bistro, todays visit was atrocious. The time from ordering a bagel breakfast sandwich to delivery is painstakingly tedious, averaging 20-25 minutes. Many people had less than nice things to say about the waiting time, one gentleman loudly voiced his opinion about waiting 30 minutes for his breakfast sandwich. To make matters worse, the signage for the line to order is awful. The man behind the register shouted "the line wraps around" after bewildered customers are see milling about trying to make sense of the order of the place. One sign at entrance reads "Line Forms Here", additional signage / arrows would help patrons navigate the store. The sales counter setup is all wrong. The order "window" and delivery window shouldn't occupy the same 2ft counter space. This impedes flow behind the counter. Something is wrong when there are more customers milling about amongst the patrons sitting at tables waiting for their orders than there are people in line to order. They employees are less than enthusiastic as seen by the gal replacing the empty coffee urns and wiping the tables. She sprays all the empty tables and goes off to perform a task rendering empty tables unusable until she wipes them clean. Open my take-out bag to enjoy my sandwich, no napkins, find my hot sandwich wrapped in foil, melted cheese all over the foil, sandwich wasn't seasoned: no salt or pepper. Hopefully the owner/ operator reads this as constructive criticism and listens to their customers feedback before their customers find another bagel place. read more

Not sure what happened last Saturday 11/6 but we ordered four breakfast sandwiches online at 8:15am before our round of golf. Order went through and card was charged. I show up at 8:45am and the place is dark. People waiting in the parking lot throwing their hands in confusion as well. Just got the notification today 11/9 that our order was cancelled... I used to go regularly for years. It was a hole in the wall but the quality was usually top notch and the selection was great, at a fair price. Recently they switched ownership. Obviously the new owner is all about charge more, give less. I ordered a bagel with extra cream cheese on it. The original owners would put a layer of cream cheese almost as think as a slice of bagel...at no extra charge. Now, it cost extra AND HALF MY BAGEL DIDN'T HAVE ANY CREAM CHEESE ON IT. The other half, a paper thin layer. My wife got a bagel with egg on it, now with half the egg. Even the bagel I got hardly had any flavor, was dry as a bone and was slightly stale. Sure, the inside of the place received a needed facelift, and the staff was pleasant enough, but it used to be one of those hole in the walls where I knew the $$$ they made went into the food quality and portions, not the art on the walls. If I want art, I'll go to a museum. Food: Ok, not terrible but I can get better at Dunkin Donuts. Portions: Laughably bad. Price: a little high normally for the type of food, ridiculously bad when adding portion size to the equation. Decor: Nice. Something to enjoy while waiting in the long weekend line. It's especially annoying when the things missing from your sandwich/order are the things you paid EXTRA to get.
