Reached out and got an appointment scheduled over the phone and email but they no showed after I took a half day off to be at the house for the appointment. Called them, left a VM, and sent an email for a reschedule - I know things can happen, etc. Zero response. I was very focused on using them since they are a local business in the same town and I believe in supporting local businesses as a sales executive that works in Tech. Sadly, and my fault, I did not have another landscape company readily lined up but did my research and found one. After scheduling them, reviewing what I wanted to do, etc. I brought them in to do the work several weeks later and spent a large 6 figure sum to make my back yard gorgeous. Look for someone else. If they cannot respond to emails and voice mails for reschedules then they most likely would not have done good work on the project. read more

Jared and his crew have done landscaping jobs for me over several years now and I have been very happy with all of them. First they re-graded my yard and built a stone retaining wall which I love. They also put in a lawn, which I later switched out to artificial grass mostly for maintenance and irrigation reasons, but both were great. They've also laid a cobblestone patio which turned out beautifully and then completely redid all the plantings in my backyard. I had him do a big project but at the end of the job he failed miserably and never was able to complete the job. He was supposed to add chicken wire to all plants so they wont grow out of control but of course his workers waited for me to leave the house so i wouldn't notice it when they planted the plants. Later i removed some of the plants and found that he never added the wires like I wanted and paid for. When he did the dripping system and the lights on the gazebo they ran AC wires and the dripping hose right next to each other which caused the wires to get damaged. when I called him to see why it was done that way he never returned my call or emails and when he did return my call a month later he was very unprofessional and said thats how its done. Good luck getting a hold of him for any reason. Don't waste your hard owed money on this contractor that don't deserve it. read more

I contacted Diablo Lawnscape because of a referral. Great referral! Jared listened carefully to my desires and provided a detailed estimate. I like the details because it tends to eliminate surprises after the job. The owner, Jared, and his team were on time, friendly, and the work was fantastic. Jared even helped out with some tree trimming efforts which were not in the original estimate. He is flexible. Our job was to convert a drought-stricken lawn into a nice, planted area with crushed granite. We also wanted it all to be on a drip system and replace the other established plants with a new drip system. In addition, I needed a new back gate installed. A couple of plants didn't make the transition and the team was quick to respond with new plants. There are more details I could share about the materials and unique designs that were used and more details about what the team did to resolve an underground leaking drainage pipe, but this note would be too lengthy. I watched a neighbors installation go in and saw their meticulous attention to detail, which led to my seeking their services. an Estimate request and appointment were met with timely responses and a very fairly priced estimate. The scope of our project required a landscape architect which Jared also helped with by providing a reference at a very reasonable price. While I'll admit it was frustrating at times trying to obtain feedback and replies early in the process, if you can exercise patience and realize that this is the busiest time of the season for landscapers, you'll be rewarded in the end. Once your project is within @ 2 weeks of the projected start, then you'll have Jared's full attention. Abraham, Antonio, Prenacio, Osvaldo, Miguel and others are magicians! Take time to say "hi" to them in Spanish or English as they speak both very well. They scraped graded and excavated our old backyard and installed an extensive irrigation system, overcoming obstacles along the way while able to stay within the budget. The speed at which they accomplish things is incredible. Additionally, they were amenable to changes on the fly, some late planting and lighting additions, and helped solve some other existing irrigation problems. If something wasn't quite as desired, it was simply redone or fixed to meet our expectations without any qualms. The installation also provided for future irrigation expansion and additional lighting to come in a future project. Lastly, Jared spent a significant amount of time to walk through the property and explain operation of all systems, offering up advice for care and maintenance going forward. We had a great experience with Jared and Jennifer at Diablo Lawnscape! Jared helped us decide on the design and re-landscaping of our front yard lawn area that had been taken out during the water shortage of a few years ago. Jared replaced the former grassy area with a new sprinkler system, new sod and planted areas at the corners where the grass always dried out and died in the past. He also redesigned and re-planted several of our existing, but outdated, planter areas with fresh new plants and new landscape boulders. He also added 3/4 inch gravel ground cover in all of our front planters. It looks great and doesn't get messy when our trees continue to drop leaves during the past few weeks since the gravel color matches the color of the leaves that drop from the trees! This was one our biggest worries and Jared solved it with this solution (instead of using a dark colored mulch). Jared also replaced our old sprinkler timer with a new, updated, easy to use version. Finally, he added up-lights and a new timer on three large, mature trees in the front yard. His team was really nice and considerate, cleaning up everyday after their work was finished. "Omar" was their lead worker on-site, and Omar's expertise and customer service attitude were refreshing. BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE?... In this area, business owners Jared and Jennifer have much to improve upon. We waited DAYS for responses to our inquiries by voicemail or email -- unless the inquiry concerned a payment we were ready to make.
