Great people to work with. Greg set up my appointment. I called him that morning to see if he could do mine first because something came up. It meant him needing to change his route. After checking with his driver, he called me back right away and the truck was here ten minutes later. The driver was fast, took it all to his truck and shredded it right on the spot. I switched from Shred-it and it is the best decision I have made for my business in a long time. I had Shred-it for multiple years and when I first started with them things were working. Then they started to show up on days no one was in the office. We called the local office and got things fixed. Then Stericycle bought Shred-it and you were no longer able to talk to the local office. Thats when the real problems started. Every time we called it was an hour long wait on an 800 number to only get an agent who couldn't promise or even arrange anything. They would "request" things but they couldn't just arrange the driver would be there on Thursdays for instance. Then when the driver didn't show up on Thursday they would "request" another pickup. We would go weeks without a pickup. Contrast that to Diablo Paper Shredding. We called, they answered, no wait times. They knew the local area because they are a local office. They could tells us down to almost the hour when the driver would show and sure enough he shows up on the correct day and in a reasonable window. Amazing, a company who does what they say they will do. The kicker...they are MUCH cheaper than Shred-it! Save money and get better service. It's a no brainer. The funny ending...it took shred-it several weeks to pick up their bins from our office. One genius at the call center suggested we create an online account in order to get the bins picked up. I needed about two garbage bags full of old paperwork shredded and two hard drives as well. Scheduled them to come to my house. Drive was very nice and showed up on time. Except, he brought the wrong shredding truck. This one didn't have the ability to shred hard drives. It was "out with the other driver". I was charged the $99. I called back later to have the two hard drives and two more shredded. Was going to charge me another $99 to come to the house to just do the hard drives. Or, I can meet the driver "somewhere" and would not be able to give me a receipt (?) read more

The first phone call went well and they were able to schedule same day. I gave him the address and he said it was very close to them. I live a 2 hours drive from my father in laws home where the 2 dozen large boxes of Paper that need shredding are. I was told between 1:00-2:00pm arrival time today with a 30 minute heads up courtesy call. I drove the 2 hours there to get this handled..only to have Diablo Paper Shredding NO CALL NO SHOW. After calling 3 times and leaving a voicemail I waited at the property until 5 PM and still no Word. I then drove 2 hours home. 4 hours of driving and an additional 4 hours of waiting in hopes I didn't just waste my entire Saturday accomplishing nothing. I used yelp to get quotes on some document destruction I needed done and Diablo had the best price and service "hands Down" ! He arrived promptly at my house, helped me separate the plastics from the paper, and loaded the material into a 64 gallon trash bin which he uses for measurement purposes. I have to give five stars even if I didn't use their service. The five stars is for caring, going the extra mile and exceptional customer service. You see I called Diablo about a week ago to inquire on their services. A nice man named Sal answered and provided me with all the needed information. He said they need a couple days notice because they're only in Hayward on Wednesdays so they would have to add us to the list. I was unsure at that time because the service wouldn't be for myself it was actually for an elderly neighbor that I was trying to assist. The family was unsure they were departing for Michigan. I did not schedule an appointment. Now fast forward one week Thursday. My neighbors family wants to have the shredding done immediately today, so I called Diablo spoke with Sal and unfortunately they were 100% booked no wiggle room to squeeze us in. I explained the importance of getting it done immediately being about the family will be leaving for Michigan in two days he stated their Hayward shred service are done on Weds. He then recommend I call one of his competitors that he is very good friends with Shred Works. He said they're pretty good in trying to accommodate as well. I took his advice called them and lo and behold the documents were shredded today just a few hours after placing the call. A young lady named Tina was fantastic; she has the best personality you've ever come across. She is just a ray of sunshine. She tried everything in her power to make this happen and she did it! Our office absolutely loves these guys and it's not hard to figure out why. Greg and his team provide wonderful, reliable service and always have the friendliest people on the phones and in-person emptying out our securely-locked shred bins. We keep two bins in our Walnut Creek law firm and have a regular shred schedule of every 4 weeks or so. However, if we fill the bins early we just call up Diablo and they get here as soon as possible (usually in a day or two) to swap out the bins with empty ones.
