You don't get to erase a true review of the service you didn't provide by doing what should have been done in the first place to fix a situation your staff created** My mom and aunt were clearing out their sisters home as they recently moved her into an assisted living facility. They had an appointment window with this dreadful company from 10am to 1pm to destroy 15-20 boxes of documents. The driver called my mom at 8am stating he will be at my aunts house in five minutes. My mom goes "Our appointment window is 10-1pm". She then tells him she can be there by 930 as she had to rearrange her schedule to rush over there. The driver says ok but then never shows up. My mom then calls the office and spoke to Kathy? She offered to reschedule to the following week. Unfortunately the new appointment wouldn't work as the house is being prepped to be sold and my mom had other appointments she couldn't change. She calls me and I could tell she was irritated. I called the company hoping to get this resolved. When the phone was answered, I asked for a manager due to the situation's escalation. Kathy? announced she was a partner in the business. I explained to her the situation but before I ending she could finish recapping the situation she cuts me off as she goes "I'm aware of this situation". I asked what can she do since the error was on their side. She goes "It doesn't matter at this point and there is nothing I can do today". Rather than deal with the poor customer service from an owner, I hung up the phone. If this is how a partner in the business speaks to a customer, its no wonder their employee has the same lackadaisical attitude when dealing with customers. read more

These guys are great. They're great if you're a business. They do secure document shredding and they have a mobile trucks, so they'll even do it on-site for as little as $100. Can't beat that. Since that large, large bag weighed just less than 25lbs, they let me take it to their location in South SF and watch as one of their trucks shredded it for only $10! Small businesses PAY ATTENTION......you have credit card numbers, addresses, sometimes even socials lying around your place CLEAN IT UP!!!! We had all sorts of stuff that by law we had to keep for three years or so hang in around the store not to mention we offer shredding as one of our services here. We call upon Bay Shred when our bin gets full (or when some one cleaning out an estate brings in 300 lbs of paper) and they are out here with that day or the next. My customers (who for some reason trust me implicitly) will dump there most sacred of materials here in my hands and then simply request I stand there the whole time the truck disintegrates it. With a car load of things to shred we discovered the city shredding services (which were convenient and cheap) closed. After looking up some other businesses on yelp, Bay Shred seemed like a great option. The phone number sent us to a message that directed us to another number that still yielded no help. We headed to the address listed here on yelp, where other tenants of the building informed us Bay Shred hadn't been tenants in ages. Fortunately we got through to a real person after trying to call again and they directed us to a location near Stern Grove. Turns out it was a locked trash bin with a tiny slot housed inside a UPS store. We had asked for details on the services before driving all the way out to the sunset and the person hadn't indicated the set up in the UPS store. Standing in the little store stuffing boxes and boxes full of shredding items in through the tiny bin slot and knowing it'd sit there for a week was not our idea of a good time. I wish the person on the phone had given us more details or at least the info here on yelp had been accurate. read more
