I walked in (with the intention of staying for 45m). Host/waiter said I can pick a place to sit and get the menus- I said ok, first I'm going to the bathroom (with MY TODDLER in my arms). He says no you've got to order first- I said I need to go to the bathroom and then I'll sit and order food- that I have 45m stop here planned and will order. He says not to do that. Throws up a paper in his hand, says "fuck" and storms off. I told him I certainly don't feel safe or good about ordering there now- turned around and walked out. This place is located beside a Tesla charger. It is the only place around. When I stopped to charge I went to the restaurant to buy a drink and to use the restroom. I asked for a drink to go and where the restroom was. When the guy found out I was here to charge I was told to "piss in my car and to shit in my pants" Wow! What a way to make an impression. If you hate Teslas and charging that much - maybe don't have a charger in your parking lot. read more

Decent food options near Crater Lake are actually pretty scarce, so we were glad to find this place that had a good sounding menu and didn't have reviews that scared us off like most other nearby places had. We stopped in for dinner and were the only patrons there. I was surprised as it's on a busy intersection and was expecting to see more people. The menu is full of comfort food and plenty of options. The inside is decorated with a bunch of mementos and business cards and photos and Vikings merch that you instantly feel at home there. The owner is an older woman who has no problem letting you know what she thinks (in the best way possible). A true dame. I realized afterwards that her mask with rhinestones on it was basically mesh underneath and I could see her mouth. So nice try, I suppose? At least there were masks. I got a chicken tender wrap with fries. The wrap was fine but the fries were wonderful. My partner got Jan's Sandwich and the owner said no one ever orders it. Was with my brother driving from California to Spokane WA in one day and we were somewhere in Oregon and getting hangry and my brother said the next place we see we are stopping for food, I swear 30 miles went by and we didn't see anything and then out of nowhere Diamond Lake Junction Café showed up and we pulled off! After checking out the menu I went with a bacon cheeseburger and honestly did not have my hopes up and didn't care because I was hangry. I wish I remember the fella's name who waiting on us and cooked our meal, he was super friendly and nice. My burger came out and I was super impressed, this was not skimpy at all, thick bacon, thick hamburger patty, thick cheese and fresh toppings and fresh cut fries with skin on! OMG this was delish!!! The perfect bacon cheeseburger I have had in a while! We were looking for a place to stop on our travels from Bend to California. We happened upon the Diamond Junction and based on the reviews decided to give it a try. The pastrami on rye was good according to my husband. I had the baby Bigfoot club and it was decent too. The fries were really good. This establishment is run by one person as stated in the other reviews. The gentleman in charge was not friendly at all. He didn't seem to like what he was doing. The previous customers waived and thanked him for their order to which he didn't acknowledge them. I left him a good tip and he ignored me also. They also charge 75 cents for each to go item that are in a paper boat and they don't offer condiments such as ketchup for the fries. We travel this route often and will probably pass on this place in the future. The food was okay, the service was lacking. read more

I stopped here and was planning to get a quick bite inside. However as soon as i got out of my car the huge guy/owner came charging at me yelling and threatening me. He was so scary and aggressive. All i did was get out of my car. I never had the chance to eat there. Very bad customer service to say the least sharing away a potential paying customer. For those are heading to Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, etc, check this place out. Do not get discouraged by how it looks from the outside. The food is well worth it. We had burgers here - Mt Thielsen and the one with 1/3 patties and 1/4 pastrami (forgot it's name). The burger is so good. Everything on the burger, bacon, pastrami, grilled onion, are all very well cooked. The host is also the cook, and he is very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be bad again to try the rest of the extensive menu if we are back in the area. read more

Great spot near Crater Lake. Only one person working here when I visited, and he was doing orders, line cooking, and serving all by himself, so when a rush of people showed up the service obviously slowed down, but I don't fault him for that. The fries were very well prepared. the burger was solid, and good for being in the middle of nowhere, but not exceptional. On the way to/from Crater Lake, I would highly recommend stopping by here if you need to grab a bite. read more

After reading the reviews, I understand why the door got slammed in our face when we knocked on the lock door DURING OPEN HOURS (literally 3:30 on a Thursday). I don't know if it was a racist qualm (I am eastern Asian) or the obsession with conserving water by refusing to allow people to pee, but this was the worst customer experience I've ever had. Before we could even ask about the bathroom, food, or anything else, the man opened the door, said he "needed a break" when the restaurant only had two patrons, then slammed the door in our face. Don't go here. If the service was any indication, the food is probably god awful and looked terrible. Hold out for 10 more minutes and you'll have an amazingly clean subway and gas station which is far superior and actually worth your money. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Our family stopped to have dinner here on May 21, 2024. It appears that nothing has changed regarding customer service since at least 2014. We experienced the same treatment as the previous reviewer regarding attempting to use the restroom while trying to order our dinner. Had we saw the previous review we would have not wasted our time stopping! The male worker / owner displayed his aggressive behavior almost exactly as the previous reviewer described! It is pretty sad that it must cost the restaurant so much money to fill the toilet with more than likely well water. There is no excuse what so ever that the worker / owner has to be so aggressive with his behavior towards customers! We have a mixed review for this diner. I ordered the bacon infused hamburger with fries. The burger was very good and very juicy with a homemade tasting bun. My husband ordered the baby foot chicken fried steak dinner. However he received the baby chicken fried steak sandwich instead. They did offer to change it but we didn't want to waste the food. It was crispy, but could have been season better. As mentioned in other reviews, the portions are quite large and could easily be split. Also they give a boat-load of fries with every meal, enough fries for four people. So if you're not that hungry or don't like to waste food, you might ask for a half portion of fries. We did, but still received the boatload of fries. The fries were good but could have been crispier. The beef barley soup was pretty good. The place had only two people, the cook and the server. However, we received our food in adequate time. A big disappointment was in the restroom facilities. My husband walked down the stairs to use them first, and came up and said "you don't want to use the restroom". They really need to do a better job of keeping the restrooms clean. We're taking the recommendation of another yelper and using the rest stops down the road. read more

Stopped here for lunch and a bathroom break. Door was locked even though it said it was open. My son needed to go pee really bad so he ran to some trees a hundred feet away from the building. A heavyset white dude started yelling vile expletives at my son and wife from the back of the restaurant and threatened to call the cops on us. His reaction was so quick and explosive that I didn't know why he was upset at first. It did not occur to me that a boy peeing in the woods would elicit such vitriol. But when I understood I rounded up my family and got away from him. The way he was acting I feared violence from him. I recommend steering clear of this angry man. Plenty of good food up the road in Chemult. read more

I really wanted to give this place a great review. I love little Mom and Pop type cafes. However it just wasn't the experience I'd hoped for. The waitress was very young. It seemed like like she really didn't want to be there and was very sleepy. I had to ask for water, she never came back to see how the food was and she never came back to refill our coffee. My husband liked his Oinkerella burger, but our fries were so greasy they were very shiny when he brought them. I couldn't eat very many. I got a fish burger which was ok. Then to top it off, they guy that fixed our food and then took my money had pretty dirty fingernails. Sadly we won't be back. Oh and we were there at about 1:30 on a Sunday. read more

Turned away by heavy set Caucasian man that said "no sorry, we are not set up for extra curricular activities like for that you can go up the road" Lets take into consideration not a living person was sitting at the tables, nor the bar it was completely empty on a Wednesday midday with plenty of daylight 4pm not a holiday or a busy season either. SERVICE - We went for breakfast and ordered two omelets. It took over an hour to get our food. It could have been 1.5 hours, not sure. Oh, and it wasn't busy, there were only 2 other tables with a couple people at each. FOOD - First, half of both our orders were wrong. Ordered O'Brien potatoes and received hashbrowns. And they were soggy. But not as soggy as the omelet, which was actually completely soaked in grease and literally leaking. This place was surprisingly delicious! Everything was incredibly fresh with a real, red, yummy tomato, crisp lettuce, and excellent quality local beef. The bread and buns is made by a bakery in Bend. The bun was a pillowy brioche. Even the fries were good!The restauranteur was friendly, honest, and incredibly hard working, someone you want to support! He welcomed us, took our order and then hopped in the back to grill up our bacon and beef. We will definitely eat here again on our next trip to Bend. read more

We came 5 minutes before closing after a long day hiking and the people there were friendly enough to let us in and order food. They were super friendly and had a great conversation with them. The owner said everything is from local farms and bakeries. It was the best burger I have ever eaten. We travel a lot and tried many cuisines but this burger was amazing. So fresh and delicious. It's a tiny diner on the busy roadway that's totally worth a stop! Two guys work the diner and attached quick mart. The food is simple but delicious! If you like chicken fried steak, you must go here. The pies are freekin' awesome! I had the marion berry and the apple cinnamon. Wowser! Service is friendly and quick. I got the mushroom burger, my girlfriend ordered the combo omelette. 90% of her omelette was delicious grilled bell pepper, onions, and sausage. My burger was as good as the burgers at my city's gourmet Burgers & Brew. They even were pulling fresh baked marrion berry pies out of the oven as we were leaving!
