We've stayed at the Diamond Lake Resort twice now and decided to grab dinner at the cafe during our most recent visit. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. I got the Chicken Club with a side of cottage cheese while also splitting the Combo Basket with my family. My club was so delicious. The chicken breast was moist and juicy, the artisan bun was buttery and soft. A hefty sandwich that definitely hit the spot. The side of cottage cheese was bigger than I expected which was a nice surprise as it felt like an actual side/serving. The combo basket was great and we ate through that before I remembered to take a photo. My favorites were the jalapeno cheddar tots and mozzarella sticks. The onion rings were fat and juicy. Only app I wasn't too fond of was the friend mushrooms as they were pretty oily. The combo also came with a handful of dipping sauces that were tasty as well. Overall we had a great dinner, everyone left satisfied and with full bellies! 10/10 I'd eat here again next time we stay at the resort. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch at the resort. The food was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive. Our food came out quickly. It was so pleasant to look out over the lake while we had such an enjoyable meal. I noticed all the wait staff keeping busy and keeping things clean. I stopped by here for breakfast on the way to see some waterfalls about 1 hr north. It was crowded over Labor Day weekend with a line of folks waiting for a table to open up. Service was fast, friendly and casual. You pick your own table when it opens up. There's a choice between the buffet and menu options. The buffet costs about the same as a number of menu options, a reasonable ~$15, and it was self-serve, which was surprising to me since other local establishments have stopped their buffet service during COVID-19. They wipe down the tables between customers but it still looks/feels dirty. All customers were compliant with the indoor mask mandate. Breakfast was standard fare and delicious. I ordered eggs-over-easy, hashbrowns, buttered rye toast, and a sausage patty -- the sausage was excellent quality, thick and juicy. Ample parking. Restrooms were clean. No WiFi available. read more

The resort is not great but the cafe is good. It is about 3.5 stars in my book. At least middle of nowhere, this is considered the best restaurant. It has lake view. I would recommend you go down stair with better dining. Please remember the WiFi will be shut down at night so use this time to get the map and information you need. We start with steamer clam. It was great steamer with light spice. Very good. I would recommend this dish. The entree we have the Diamond Lake burger, fish and chips and daily pot pie. The burger is almost half pound of meat. Grilled to the order. The fish is fresh. May be from the local lake. The pot pie is delicious. I would said is the best in the local. The service is really good. Very attentive. This is for the dining room only but this place is just fabulous ! Clean beautiful facility ! Great food , reasonably priced and a knowledgeable staff making your meal fast and interesting. Learned cool stuff about the mountains and surrounding area. Very help and accommodating for my 90 year old disabled mom. Loved our day here and will return soon. Only 25-30 minutes from Crater lake We came back for Friday night dinner , sat outside on the patio and there's nothing better. Happy family's , fantastic mountains and great food ! Well worth our 1 &1/2 hour drive it just seems like paradise. read more

Food basic. Fries and onion rings are frozen so nothing special. The service was below par. Three of us sat and silverware came for the person with the salad but not for burgers and fries plates. One patron asked for the bacon on their bacon burger to be made crisper but that never occurred. Water refills had to be asked for. Overall a very basic experience. Definitely not fancy and quite the greasy spoon but we all had great breakfasts here. Great food only a short drive from Crater Lake! They certainly know their chicken pot pie. Tasted amazing amidst a blistery, cold night. The crust was flakey and well-browned, just the way I like it. I also enjoyed the fries that came with the chicken fried steak. It was incredibly fresh and tasted hot out of the fryer. The service was also very efficient -- the staff were super attentive and friendly. They even remembered the ketchup to go with the fries and made sure to ask whether we wanted whipped cream on the hot chocolate. Apparently they'll be installing a Tesla supercharger soon, and I'd definitely stop by for a bite while charging the car. read more

We're having a blast!! Just one small complaint (?). The only entrance to our "cabin" is covered with ice and snow. We understand they just got a lot of snowfall in a really short time, something in the range of 3 feet in a 10day period? Anyhow staff is awesome, very accommodating, just wouldn't want to see my 70 year old grandmother fall on the ice, that really should've been removed prior to anyone's stay. It's costs a small fortune to stay here, so honestly it really should've been cleared!! read more

Writing to review the restaurant. There are two entries for the hotel part, but no one has Yelped about the food service. Odd little place. Set on a lovely lake about 45 minutes from Crater Lake National Park. Was recommended to us by one of the hosts at the Crater Lake Lodge. They were completely swamped for lunch. Suggested this as an option. We were there on a coolish day in late July. There were enough clouds that the lake was mostly a gray color. Still, surrounded by pines with the green grass of the resort, it made a scenic backdrop for our family lunch while on vacation. Seemed to be two dining areas. One was extremely casual, like a snack bar at a golf course. One of my nephews discovered the actual dining room, off to the side, down a few steps, closer to the water. Biggest complaint - it took FOREVER for everything. To get menus. To have our order taken. To get beverages. Nevermind the food itself. What? You came here to eat? FOREVER again for the mediocre chow to arrive. Mostly sandwiches and standard luncheon fare. Passably adequate. Nothing special or memorable. $75 for 7 of us with tip. Not outrageous. But the slow service made it a truly painful outing. On a positive note, the kids enjoyed skipping stones into the lake after we ate. :-) read more

Stopped in for dinner, sat out on the patio. Noticed a sign that said "choose your seat carefully, no table hopping!" I thought that was odd, but sat anyway. The service was poor, took forever to get our order in, and when the food arrived all of the steaks were cold and the waiter said one order had been missed by the cooks and was just being cooked. Then the bees showed up! No joke.....yellow jackets by the dozen! We then asked the server if we could have a table inside (I checked, they had open seating). He went off and asked his manager, we were told it was not allowed but the would give us to-go boxes! 5 minutes after getting our food they were only willing to box up our food! We finally got our last order and got out of there, but not before our server, sensing his tip diminishing, gave us some serious attitude. Seldom have I seen such poor food combined with such crappy service. read more

Nestled high up in the Cascades, this place is a haven for those who enjoy outdoor sports, or just a weekend of down time. Snow is abundant and the lake is frozen right now, so ice fishermen and snowmobiles are everywhere. Skiing and snowboarding is also nearby. For those with slightly different taste, like Rose me, there's the big cozy-friendly lodge with the giant fireplace and big soft chairs and sofas scattered about in casual conversational groupings. A nod to technology, there is wifi here so one may read a classic Dickens novel on one's iPad, or write reviews on Yelp while enjoying a glass of merlot. The food so far isn't bad; not exciting, but not bad, and it's convenient and reasonably priced. The rooms and cabins are sparse and rustic. Don't expect a 5-star hotel. The chicken pot pie and beef noodle soup were very good. Staff super friendly and great. Don't waste your money on the brunch. Only choice are the full buffet ($14) and continental breakfast $9) were not worth it at all. You can get oatmeal but all they seemed to do is nuke it in the microwave. Go somewhere else for breakfast. Crater Lake resort have about the same price and way better tasting breakfast. read more

I forgot my phone and went back to get it the guy that had tattoos on his calf of trees and mountains was rude, he slammed the phone in my hand and said for leaving a dollar tip you don't need to come back go someplace else. I paid him what I had left after paying for my food He said this in front of people and my granddaughter. I would not recommend going there during lunch time if he is working. The waiter, Casey, was absolutely fantastic. That man deserves a raise! With an air of half Jim Carey and half Keanu Reeves, Casey embodies the ideal characteristics of the service industry. This place hit the spot. On our roadtrip stopped in here for a rest and spent time on the frozen lake. We were hungry so decided to share couple apps... fried clams and fish n chips. Both were surprisngly delicious. Their fries were really tasty. They were busy and our server was excellent. She was attentive and was working very hard. Hopefully be in the area again. One a recent visit I had lunch at this restaurant. I was disappointed with the fish and chips meal that I ordered. The fish was hard and greasy. The chips could have come to the rescue but instead turned out to be stale and dry. Neither item had a significant amount of flavor. We were so disappointed that we avoided the food for the rest of our two day stay. If you like food I suggest that you bring your own or try the pizza at the other end of the lake! read more

Dave w has reviewed a different location which is on Highway 97 about 20 miles from Diamon Lake Lodge. The Diamond Lake Lodge Cafe is not the same as Diamond Lake Junction. We had the breakfast buffet. The selection was sparse but the food was good and all four in the party filled up and were happy with their meal. I would certainly eat here again. Unfortunately we did not get to eat here. We got there and were greeted by a nice waiter who let us know they don't open until noon (it was 11:47) but would bring us waters and menus until they did open. We did have a larger group with littles but we're fine with waiting. Another waiter came out a couple minutes later and was absolutely rude. He was frustrated we were sitting at tables and asked us to leave and come back at noon when he opened because he needed the time to set up. We explained we were told it was ok to sit and were waiting on waters. He did not care and mumbled something rude and walked off. Pretty annoyed since there was another table with people at and he didn't mind them. So we decided to find somewhere else to eat. Too bad since I'm sure our bill would have been well over $200 for our group. I don't like to leave bad reviews but 2 out of 3 waiters here were awful and ruined the experience for us. read more
