Burger was a thin frozen patty, mozzarella sticks with ranch (?) and the bacon on the BLT was burned - you could taste the fries were fried in old oil. Y'all... just don't. Great find in the right place at the right time! We were driving south through Chemult and had to go through Bly Mountain Pass on our way to Ashland. It was late, getting dark and a rain storm was closing in fast. We were starving and our last chance to eat before turning west was at Chemult. The young man at the gas station suggested the Chalet, and Subway as an alternative. I asked him what was good the Chalet. He said, "I don't know, I've never eaten there!". Regardless, it was no contest, The Chalet it was. We walked in and the young lady who greeted and eventually served us looked very tired. We sat down and ordered a pulled pork sandwich and steak. While we were ordering, we got to chat with her and she turned out to be a very nice and friendly young lady. She explained that she had pulled a double shift on that day and that was the reason she was exhausted. Her young and very cute daughter hung around while mom worked the table. Awesome experience. Today is a vision of our future and Loree's is a part of that. We dream of retiring and traveling - along the way finding the local spots with great food and drink. Not only did Loree's have great food and drink - there were slot machines in the bar area!!! The service was focused on us and the drink (Long Island Iced Teas) rival the best we have ever had. This is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food we ordered tasted like it was rancid (even the bread tasted stale). When we sat, we were surrounded by their inventory for their pantry. After a few bites, we cannot stomach it anymore so we complained to the waitress.. the waitress then told us that they couldn't be anything wrong with their food, and that no matter what we had to pay for it. After an argument, I finally got the owners phone number. When I called the owner, he told me that there was no way that they would give us any sort of deal on our food and we would have to pay for it. He didn't care if we had a bad experience or not. Well, what is a holiday away without a story? We reserved a room in chemut, deceived by "crater lake" in the motel's name. Our destination was a day at crater lake and then some dinner and rest close by. I realize Covid-19 has changed everything, so my expectations are adjusted accordingly. Chemut only has a couple places to get a meal. The restaurant at crater lake has very limited hours, so plan accordingly. Anyway, back to chemut, we went to lorees cafe. The place was quite busy and I could only identify three people doing everything. It took time to get any assistance. The one server was running with take out, the bar, and all the tables. The cook did finally come and take our order and things sped up some. The beer was fresh, salad was good, food comes and my steak was past its time. Ewh! Ok, they addressed it quickly, and I was overcharged for it. During our meal, the owner, who was so used and chatting with the bar flies, starts yelling at our server to get out and never come back. I don't know the history but they were both yelling the eff bomb at each other, she ran out, apologizing, and yelling she quits. It was disturbing and very intense, especially for our two kids who have trouble understanding. The owner told the cook to finish up with everyone and close the place down. Yikes! read more

Just drove out of Crater Lake while traveling with my boyfriend and we stopped here mainly out of convenience, but we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, quick service, and some damn good eggs and bacon. Let's face it, dining options in Chemult, Oregon are pretty limited. I have no idea why Chemult isn't more developed given it's the closest town to the North entrance of Crater Lake and a convenient pit-stop for motels and food. Anyway... I was staying at the Whispering Pines Motel up the street and actually came here for dinner twice. The people are extremely friendly and while I didn't order anything extravagant, the sandwiches, fries and burgers were alright and the service was great. BAR REVIEW // TO GO ONLY After like 7 games of pool, a few shots and beers, we got bored and decided to just go back and chill in the room with some beers. Given that there was barely anything around, we just decided to order food to go from here. We got their Chicken Strips which turns out to be a giant slab of chicken! It was fresh and lightly deep fried, which was good because I hate when the breading it too thick. We also got their "homemade" fries which turned out to be soggy because we let it sit in the to go container. I can imagine how good they'd taste though fresh if we dined in. Their Cup of Chili was a little on the watery side and had too many tomatoes in it, but it wasn't bad. The bartender was friendly and even explained to us different games of pool. He was working alone, but he was doing a great job since he had to run back and forth between the bar and restaurant area. Drinks are fairly cheap here, although, the Jameson tasted kinda old...but good news, they got pickle juice here! Can't really complain much if it's literally the ONLY nearby bar. read more

But what was unacceptable was that she didn't bring crayons for our kids. When she came to write order we reminded her about crayons. She said, "looks like you are not ready to order. I don't have time." Our kids were disappointed and we could not believe this was real. After this visit I checked that there are almost a dozen reviews on both of these business pages that are complaining about rude server. All of them are from people who don't look like her. People who look like her seems to enjoy hospitality. Being bitter is one thing but by being so clearly discriminatory against children she has shown that she is a horrible person at heart. Not to mention food was terribly non appetizing. Our kids barely touched fries even though they are crazy for them. Fries were soggy with oil, limp and brown. My bf and I were visiting crater lake. We decide to dine at this restaurant since it was close to our motel. WORST decision ever made! The waitress on shift at 5/20/2017 at 8pm was the worst waitress I ever had. She was snobby and rude! My bf and I was looking forward to our crater lake trip and she ruin this experience for us. We came there looking to dine-in, however immediately after sitting us, she was snarky and rude to me. Not sure if it was because of my ethnicity, but she was much nicer to the other client there. We decided to get our food to go at that point, since the atmosphere she created was unwelcoming! She gave us our food but only gave us one set of utensil. When I ask for another set for my Bf, she rudely reply that we only order one meal. We clearly order two. I order a rib eye steak special and my BF a Reuben sandwhich. She then proceed to charge us $1 extra for each to go container and overcharge my bf on his sandwhich which is clearly stated in the menu to be $9. Our bill came out to be $27 for two item. Dear Ms. Waitress, If you are reading this review. I forgot to tell you before I left. It look like you have something up your ass all the Fuckin time! My husband and I stopped in for lunch. He had a bacon cheeseburger that was good however I had the grilled chicken dinner with baked potato ans corn. Mine however was not good at all. The chicken was so over done that I could not cut through it with my knife at all!!!!!! I could not even bite through it. It was unetable.The corn was chewy ans the baked however cooked all the way through was very bland abs wrapped in foil so no crunchy skin. The salad that came with it was good after I picked out the wilted ans skinny pieces. Needless ro say we will not return! They even charged me full price for a meal I couldn't enjoy. 4 bites out of the French bread 2 out of the corn 4 out of the potato and none of the chicken.
