August 30 - Sept 3, 2025 - Diamond Lake, Oregon We've stayed at this RV park several times, and like many others, it really helps to know the layout ahead of time--some sites are definitely better than others. I studied the campground map and chose what looked like a great spot: spacious, tucked in the back, and away from the road. Unfortunately, it turned out to be very unlevel with a noticeable slope. We had to use levelers on one side and add blocks under the jacks. Not exactly the most stable setup, but we managed to make it work. There are plenty of campgrounds in this area, but if you want hookups, the options are limited. That's one of the reasons we return to this park--it's right across the road from Diamond Lake, just a short drive to Crater Lake, close to the Rogue River Gorge, and within easy reach of several waterfalls. The location makes it a convenient base for exploring the region. Be aware there's no cell service at the campground. We found a signal only by walking over to the pizza restaurant across the street, which, as it turns out, also serves pretty good pizza. One of our favorite evening activities was simply sitting at our campsite at dusk and watching the bats swoop around for dinner--a fun and memorable way to end the day. Overall, while the uneven sites can be a challenge, the location and surroundings make this RV park a solid choice, and we'll likely return again. read more

This was our 1st experience camping in an RV. The staff was friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. Nice campground with plenty of trees and lots of ground squirrels. We had full hookups, back in site and there was plenty of room for our fifth wheel. The sites are dirt with a concrete pad for the picnic table and a fire ring. No closed in dog run, but there was a very large natural area to take you pet. The only draw back was lack of WiFi and cell phone service. However, there is a pizza shop walking distance next to the lake that had WiFi for inside customers, and there was cell service a couple of miles north of campground at a gas station. There is a Lake resort a few miles from campground where you can rent boats. Overall it was a good experience. The crater lake north entrance is only about 15 minutes from the campground. Also, there is a town with gas stations and grocery stores about 30 min drive on Hwy 97. read more

Lovely campgrounds across the street from a pretty lake...rented bikes and rode 7 miles. Beautiful! The guys on site were very kind and helpful...especially Randy. One gal in the office...a long haired brunette was just an awful person. Rude unkind spirit. I just don't know how she can like herself after being so unkind to so many people. It put a damper on the day for myself and other campers. It would do the business a service to let her go. read more

We drove in with an issue with our truck engine. There is no cell service unless you walk about half a mile, however, the staff was extremely helpful and attenuative to our needs. they worked hard to accommodate an extra night for us and the couple we were traveling with, they helped us find a tow and mechanic to work on the diesel engine. They really do treat you like family here. Great campground, clean and well run. read more

Just stayed 5 nights here. When arriving at the campsite we noticed the concrete pads being "broken" up. On the 2nd day being there I lost balance and fell due to the broken concrete pad. Luckily it wasn't my 70+ year old parents(I'm in my 40's). Most of the campsites have broken up concrete pads. The laundry room had 6 washers(only 5 working) and 6 dryers with only 4 working. They really need to fix the concrete pads at the campsites and the laundry rooms. read more

There are prettier, more convenient lakes in Central Oregon with more amenities. But Diamond Lake is still a winner. We left home very early, trying to get here on time to snag a spot on a Friday afternoon. We got there at 12:45. There were FOUR spots remaining, and by the time we got one, there were three cars behind me. The reservable spots were booked long ago. Which shows how popular Diamond Lake is. When you see the lake, you see why people love it. It's big, lined with trees, a mountain peering over it. Lots of room to fish and swim. Boat ramp. Showers. And three large campgrounds. (And mosquitoes, grrr) Yes, this describes many Oregon lakes. Still, Diamond Lake is a good one. Bad: It's not on the Cascade Lakes Byway. Good: It's a 10 minute drive to Crater Lake. Diamond Lake is a beautiful and historic lake not too far from the famous Crater Lake. My family and I have been wanting to visit for years. Living on the East coast, opportunities for us to see such incredible Oregon scenery are rare. After flying across the country and driving for a day, we finally made it to Diamond Lake a few hours before sunset. The numbers on the RV spots were difficult to understand, but we eventually found our spot and started to set up camp. As soon as we started to unload, an employee from the site rode up next to our camper on a golf cart and starred at us for a while, after a few seconds, I asked if there was anything I could help him with. He responded "You can't park yourself". I genuinely had no idea, that likely explains why the spots were so difficult to understand. We tried to apologize and explain the misunderstanding before we were cut off by the employee who then told us, "And no trailers". That rule confused me, our trailer was not large and was tucked neatly on our spot, out of the way of public space or the space of other guests. I asked why we couldn't have the trailer and he just shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the trailer, "No camp fires, and no tents". Seeing as how Oregon is struggling with wildfires right now, I completely understand the restriction and/or ban of fires, it was only then that I looked up and saw how dangerous our campsite was. There were rotten trees hanging over our camper that looked like a strong gust of wind could take them out, the grounds need some serious maintenance. That was also when I noticed that we couldn't see the lake, one of the things we were most excited about was getting a "Lakeside" view. After all of the back-and-forth, I decided to check out the bathrooms, The truly disturbing, disgusting, and horrendous part of this experience was the bathrooms, Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, covered in dead/dying mosquitos, dirt, dust, black mold and mildew, and God knows what else. I have been to countless campgrounds in my life and have never seen a more repulsive bathroom. We were so disappointed in our experience that we left at sunrise the very next day after booking two days. This resort was an absolute waste of time and money. Words cannot express enough the frustration and anger that I feel after flying across the country for that. If you take anything from these photos or this review, please go anywhere else! read more

Such a great Lake to camp on. We got a lakeside campsite at the Diamond Lake campground. Mostly families camping there so it was pretty quiet at night. Bike trails all over allow you to get off the beaten path quickly. The campsites are kinda far from the restrooms and showers, but since we had our bikes it wasn't a problem. This is a rustic park in a very good way! The staff was very helpful at check in, providing a staff member to help with the back in. Normally I don't need this, but the space was a little tight with trees, so my wife was glad to have the additional help. Lots of birds, bats and furry critters to keep you entertained! The park went completely quiet at 9:00 PM, so a peaceful night was enjoyed both nights. About a 20 minute drive to Crater Lake. The spaces were fairly large gravel pads with plenty of room between rigs. Ours (W-16) had a pretty good slope from front to rear, so much so that we could not use one of our rear stabilizers. Not a big deal. What really made this place shine was the staff! They made unobtrusive passes through the park and were always available to answer questions or help in any way they could. On our check out day I discovered I lost the receiver hitch pin. DOH! The staff helped us track one down in the middle of nowhere. The nearest town that may have had one is at least 70 miles away. When we were hooking up, a staff member rolled up to check on us to make sure we were OK. Then after we got all set to go, I discovered my breakaway brake switch had failed after pulling partway out of our space. The same staff member came back after he helped with a back in to trouble shoot the problem. He spent at least 45 minutes messing with it. We finally came up with a temporary fix to get us on the road. All was done with a friendly attitude, a smile and a laugh! We ended up checking out an hour late, and were invited to come on back anytime, even after being a pain in the butt! I did not get the staff members name, but he was an older guy who looked like he could have played linebacker with the 1975 Chicago Bears. A real pleasant, good natured guy! He was not exception. Dante forgot to write about the tenth circle of hell. It's the mosquito nightmare at diamond lake. This lake is beautiful and the facilities are incredible. The problem is purely the mosquitos. All hours of the day they were unbearable. We rarely left our RV and when we did we were covered head to toe in mosquitos within minutes. We actually left two days early and went to newberry instead. read more

We have been camping here with family and friends for the last 25 years. The campgrounds are pretty well maintained, many of them are larger for more than one tent. The lake is beautiful with great fishing. A beautiful place to spend time away from regular life to enjoy nature read more

This business has terrible customer service and will take your money with no refunds and no changes if the site doesn't really work for you. Sites vary a lot from quite good to really an afterthought of a site. I got the latter and I got zero help from the staff. I walked away, they ate my money you could tell they do it all the time. By the way, they lock you in to the site. You have zero choice. Avoid, you can have a much better experience at the federal campground across the street. And actually be on the lake. Lack of shade. Poor configurations. Not on the lake. Maybe they just want to have long-term people that are locals but if you're just passing through, this is not the place to go. Be warned, the policies, and staff here are terrible. read more

Don't be misled! This is a very large recreation area within the Umpqua National Forest. This RV Park and the Diamond Lake Resort are on opposite ends of the three-mile long lake. They are run by the same concessionaire but are very far apart and separated by an enormous Forest Service campground! Diamond Lake Resort is an aging but fun place but DO NOT host RV's. The RV Park is little more than a dirt lot with hookups and nowhere near the lake. The forest was thinned recently so there are very few shaded spots. The entire property is on sloped land. You may be able to level your rig on the graded parking patch in a spot, but that's it. Mosquitos are BAD, as there is a marsh between the property and the lake. If you want a relaxing spot on the lake but don't care about hookups, get a spot at the Forst Service campground. If comforts are a little more important to you, splurge on a cabin at the resort. read more

I was a little concerned after reading the reviews. We have a large family (4 kids), and with that comes some rowdiness. We are big on manners, and behaviors...but when we are more inclined to let them be kids. We didn't experience any issues, at all. Upon arrival a nice fella helped my husband back in our spot (saved me from doing it). When we realized the bathroom nearest us was out of order, we requested a new site. Trekking to the bathroom with 4 kids was a no go. They kindly moved us right by a bathroom, and in a pull through spot with no extra charge. Each spot has a fire ring and picnic bench. The grounds were lovely with lots of trees and wild flowers. We had a beautiful view through the trees of Mt. Thielsen. The bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen, with two (free) showers- that are nice and hot. The shower stalls also have locking doors...total bonus if you feel a little weirded out by public showers like I do. There is a laundry facility as well. Unfortunately, half of the washers/dryers were out of order, so get there early. It was $1.25 to wash and they seemed kinda like small capacity. $1.75 to dry. THERE IS NO CHANGE MACHINE. The office has quarters available, but you must have cash. I had to drive down to the lodge to use their ATM. The Diamond Lake Lodge/Resort is about 3 miles down the road. They serve great food and have ice cream. They have a great selection of rentals (paddle boats, motorboats and even bumper boats at the marina). There is a small store, a nice beach with picnic benches right on the lake. Right across the street from the RV Resort is a great pizza parlor, and the kiddos working were great! They also have a few essentials and delicious ice cream. This place was very close to Crater Lake as well. I knocked it down a star because we had a hard time finding it. The GPS took us to the lodge and from the side we came from there was no clear indication of where the RV park was. The mosquitos were also INSANE. Kinda ruined any thought of hanging out in the beautiful scenery. We used citronella candles, several mosquito coils and OFF Backwoods...and still got eaten alive. read more

We love staying here and are already planning a return trip. Check in before 8:00pm...office closes and they don't let you check in after business hours. Super helpful staff guides you to your site to make sure you get there easily...park is large and rustic and could be confusing if they didn't help. Our stay started off with a slight hiccup due to the fact someone had parked in our reserved site. The staff at Diamond Lake RV: Debbie, David and Tracy, demonstrated excellent customer service, handled the issue professionally and did everything they could to find an alternate site for us in our large rig to help our stay be an enjoyable one. We took a group of 29 foster youth up to the resort to snow tube, spend the night, snow fish....the staff was beyond attentive, even helping to keep the kids entertained so our chaperones could more easily get dinner ready for the group. Has a youngster get sick from all the excitement, and the staff kept coming to check on how,she was doing...snow tube hill staff was awesome and friendly, helping keep our kids sliding down the hill while keeping them safe. Resort loaned us an auger to help us take our group of kids ice fishing...couldn't honestly had had a better experience, certainly do not believe we would have gotten as much caring, fun attention anywhere else.... 2 thumbs up! read more

Worst RV Park experience The front desk lady was very rude and tried to scam us to pay more for having a car.(even their website and printed material said included 1 car and RV) Luckily one of the employees stopped her and said we didn't have to pay extra. The reason she said she wanted to charge us was because our car was not towed but drove in. We booked a site with 20/30/50 amp, after we specifically asked for 50 amp, however we were given a 30 amp site. They wouldn't accommodate us due to all their sites are all booked. We understand things happens so we didn't complain about it and we asked our neighbors who weren't using their 50 amp to let us charge our car at night. After 2 nights we noticed that the place was not full and have a few empty site with 50 amps. One of the neighbors was very nice and had no problem with us charging our car at their site. As that neighbor left, the new neighbor came and was specifically instructed to not let us use the 50amp. That new neighbor was very apologetic about the situation and didn't understand why the front desk not only didn't want to help but specifically trying to prevent others to help us. Maybe because we were the only Asian there? Or maybe the owner is too cheap to let us use their electricity to charge our tesla? The site is very crowded with rodents everywhere. Our site is not level and the sewer was very slow. We were also told that we could only use 1 Ac eve thought we only had 1 Ac. Our neighbors had 3 AC running with no one inside and no one came to talk to them about it. It is such a shame to see a deceptive business like Diamond Lake RV Park running right next to a beautiful place. They lost our business and all our RV friends' business. We will Never book with them again. read more

The facilities are what I would expect for cabins and the staff have been accommodating at every level. The food is pretty good most of the time as well. The 1 hour ride no great scenery but you really have to ride the horse. The Bad: spaces not level laundry closes at 8pm but doors were locked at 7pm only way to make a reservation is by email or fax and it takes several days for a response wifi is beyond limited. We just couldn't get it to work. cell phone reception. Verizon only. AT&T does not work **just a note** space size inconsistent. Some are super small and skinny some were large and wide, and some were close together. lots of mosquito's!!!! make sure you follow park rules or you will hear about it. read more

You have to call to make a reservation, they have no online or computer system, all hand written. That's not the issue, the issue is they would rather cram us and our 28foot trailer in a very tight spot than let us in the larger completely empty spot right across from us that was empty the whole time we were there. WTH?!? They said it was full, however there were empty sites EVERYWHERE. They said the spot we wanted was reserved... um no it wasn't, again empty spots the whole two days we were there which were so much nicer for our sized rig. This place is weird and not sure we will go back. The site we were at was so small, my awning covered part of the site next to us. Need some serious work at this place. If you absolutely need hook ups this is your only option, Dry camp across the road at the lake it's much nicer! read more

Great woodsy park. They are recovering from a devastating fire and making great improvements. It's quiet, within walking distance to Diamond Lake and about 30 mins to Crater Lake. For the city folk with their Tesla that was unhappy that they couldn't charge their car and complained about the "rodents", please go back to whatever city you came from. The "rodents" are chipmunks and they are freaking adorable. Camping is obviously not for you. For regular camping folk, give them a go. read more

Trying to get reservations here is difficult. The style of having to use an online reservation form and sending in payment is out of date. They really need an online reservation system here. During the winter they are simply closed. Good Luck when trying to book. We were concerned about coming here especially with the reviews. I can see why had the comments they did about the men in charge. We had no problems. The 2 men on there golf carts patrol the grounds several times a day. We do not cause any trouble and certainly are not rule breakers. We could see that there could be a fine line where anger could result if you over step your bounds. The managers have there rigs positioned in such a way so they can watch people come and go near the office. Aside from that our space was a a spacious one. We were there early spring, and enjoyed not having neighbors right next to us. We were able to spread out, and relax. We had no internet, cable, or phone service at our site. We had to get some movies from the office to watch during the evening. Speaking of evening...mosquitoes are ruthless here. I wish we could have stayed out and had a fire, but we found this to not be possible with the mosquitoes. They come out and dinner time, and have no mercy. Bring books, bring movies, don't be loud, and you are fine here. read more

Somewhat rustic campground in sparse trees. That means those with portable satellite dishes have a chance of them working. Some are large back-ins, some are narrow pull thrus. 50AMP full hookups. Our site was not very level and we required blocks on one corner leveling jack. No wifi and only Verizon has a chance of working and it is weak and flaky. Nice people. Close by are scenic byways with waterfalls, Diamond Lake itself and Crater Lake National Park is close by. Bring all of your food and fuel, since there are limited choices for these in the area. Quiet and dark. In shoulder season it can get cold at night since it is just over 5,000 feet in elevation. read more

Biggest disappointment we have experience thus far in several years of traveling. I would not recommend Diamond Lake RV park or the Diamond Lake Resort to anyone. We called to make reservations in late February and received our call back to confirm and make a deposit March 17th with plans to arrive in Mid July. We supplied ALL of our information regarding our RV size and amp requirements. On our arrival we faced one of the rudest humans I have ever faced. When trying to pay the balance (with the same credit card that I made the deposit with back in March) I was told repeatedly that my card had a different address associated with it, as I repeatedly advised her it did not. Her response was basically "well I don't know what to tell ya, thats what my computer is telling me." I also ask her if she could apply the entire deposit I had made toward our balance, ( I had paid for the another couple when making our reservations and they were there with me to pay for their site ) But she absolutely could not perform that basic math. After some time this p erson finally realized that "someone" had put in a bogus billing address on their end and that was the problem with my card. Did she apologize ...... NO. She sent us on our way to two RV spots she had chosen. The park is extremely tight to get around in and so so dirty. As I had informed them, we require 50 Amp and they put us in 30 Amp and one of the sites electric didn't work at all. I went back to the office and spoke with this person again, if it was possible she was even more rude, and basically told us it was our problem not hers. Even after she found out one of sites electric would not work she really showed no compassion. Her husband was the person that guided us to the spots along with another woman and they were so apologetic. They offered us two more 50 amp spots by the office. When we got up to take a look at the spots they offered us, She, the rude one came out of the office and said NO, NO I am not putting them in that spot, they can go to the resort and stay across from the lodge. Well thats were we ended up and what that ended up being was an area they let their employees park in. It was "in process" and it was a dump. read more

Five stars for the restaurant, four stars for the lake and activities, and three stars for the motel. We would happily stay here again. The restaurant is a surprisingly good diner. Basic food prepared well and served with a smile. We stayed in the motel lodging. Basic 1970s style accommodations. Comfortable bed. Some deferred maintenance. A slight musty smell. Serviceable but not special. Too much motor boat noise for my taste (motorized rowboats and such, not speedboats). Plenty of rentals - bikes, boats, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. WiFi works fine but only at the main building, nothing in our room. read more

We stayed here for about a week in September. The park is located in a fairly remote area and has a pretty good layout. The restrooms were clean and readily accessible. The RV sites were nice. The only drawbacks were that there was no internet or TV cable. But if you don't mind that the place is great. If I were going to visit Crater Lake, this would be high on my list of places to stay. read more

Park was okay. We had site #6 which was near the front of the park and close to the bathroom. If I stayed there again I would stay in a site at the back of the park. More trees there. Our site was nothing great. From what I could c they only clean out the fire pit when a person leaves. Bathrooms r old and outdated. Definitely could use a facelift along with some of the sites. We camped with our family in the Diamond Lake Campsite, G - loop and had a great time (even without a camp fire). We visited the Visitor's Center which had a great educational display about volcanoes, lots of useful information about near by attractions, National Parks stickers, and a very helpful staff member named Carol. They had a neat stamp for our National Parks Passport. We accidentally left the passport there then had to call a few days later to try to locate it. Carol was great! She found the book and worked with the ranger station to get it back to us. I highly recommend Diamond Lake for a great summer vacation and a stop at the Visitor's Center is a must! read more

We passed by on our way to Roseburg. It took my breath away! I cannot wait to come back and stay one day! It went on the bucket list.

My husband and I camp here while we visited Crater Lake. The campsite was very nice. It was completely shaded amongst the trees and felt private. The only downside, is that the highway ran directly above us and we could hear traffic throughout the night. The bathrooms were a short walk away. However the showers or a pretty decent walk from our campsite. We actually drove to the showers so that we didn't have to walk back on the campground road at night. The bathrooms are fairly clean however the women's showers could have been better. The first night one of the shower spigots broke and sprayed water everywhere. Also, there were a ton of bugs, spiders, and spider webs all over the shower stalls. I recommend staying here if you cannot get a campsite at Crater Lake. The Crater Lake entrance is only 6 miles away. read more

This place is amazing and very affordable ($16/night for standard nonelectric, not on the water which would only be $22/night). Most sites are very private, surrounded by trees and lush landscape. The lake is walking distance from all sites. Even over labor day weekend the campground was quiet and peaceful, day and night. I recommend checking out your site on the map as some can be pretty hard to back into (we were at D006 with a 32 ft trailer, and it could definitely have been easier at another site). The park is 30 minutes from crater lake and is on the "Highway of Waterfalls", which I highly recommend exploring too. Absolutely wonderful, we are already talking about another trip. read more

This RV park is not welcoming. Staff is very rude and you will be chastised like a child for the smallest infraction. Many of the sites are not level. There is no AT&T reception here (or really anywhere in Umpqua National Forest) and there is no WiFi. Mosquitos are bad. Yes, there is a store/restaurant across the street but they were out of ice and it will be the most expensive pizza you ever eat. This RV Park is not affiliated with the Resort, not even within walking distance. read more
