We highly recommend Erika, for three reasons: (1) Erika is very knowledgeable. She has a serious background in physical therapy and sports medicine. You can go to her for a chichi massage if you want, but she offers much more. She can help you recover from injuries, reach your athletic goals, and otherwise improve yourself. After each session, she sends you a set of stretches to help address your condition (whatever it may be), which tides you over until the next massage. I went to her with a stiff neck and plantar fasciitis, and she has helped me make great strides with both. (2) Erika is very strong and has great technique. I'm 6'3" and 220 lbs., and have super tight neck and shoulder muscles from my desk job and from weightlifting. When I first met her, I thought: "There's no way." But then she wrestled those knots in my neck and traps into submission. Even more impressive, she did something to the bottom of my foot to make my plantar fasciitis virtually go away. I spent another year trying out 3 masseuses a few times each. I wanted to find someone who synced with my body & knew what I needed when I couldn't voice it myself. I was in pain & needed relief. I wasn't wanting someone whose services were like a menu that I could randomly walk in on a Friday & get a massage then show up 4 months later for another. I knew I needed consistent therapeutic massage that would help make my quality of life better. Another MT referred me to their co-worker, Alicia, when they had to cancel a session. Upon meeting her we spoke about what was going on with my body & things I had tried before such as acupuncture & physical therapy. I was not expecting that since this was to be a one-off visit due to schedule change. As a larger person, I am constantly aware of people associating my size with my pain & medical issues. When in fact my injury was a major contributor to my weight gain. Alicia made me feel comfortable. I wasn't trying to minimize myself & was able to fully relax so she could work on me. During the massage she was able to work on my sacral/lumbar area as well as my hips. I had no idea what different types of massages consisted of or even what type I was looking for. She just knew what & where I needed her to work. Some areas were relaxing to the point I would doze, some very targeted to stretch & release tightness, others were rhythmic & flowing. All of it was what I needed. I left that day & immediately booked another appointment, then another & another. When Alicia left the business I went with her. When she branched out on her own, I followed. I had found that person that through their hands & wonderful personality could improve my well being & health. It's been 13 years now.
