Love this place! We were heading to a concert at Petco and I wanted a fancier craft drink before and Diamond Room didn't disappoint. The vibes and decor were so cute and I feel like they paid attention to even the smallest details. Plus the baseball themed drinks were so original and delicious. You could tell the bartender really takes pride in their job and the service was top notch. Best part is they do an awesome Trivia Night every Wednesday with great prizes and a fun host! I'll definitely be back again anytime I'm in the area!

Cool little 70's speakeasy vibes bar. Came here before the the Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. They offered special pre-concert specialty drinks. They also serve food and the service from the staff was amazing. I got the whiskey sour and my bro got the in-house double IPA. Highly recommend this place for a chill and fancy decor with good drinks and food

The Diamond Room is a cool lounge that took over the former home of City Tacos. Right outside the gates into Petco Park. My buddy and I left the Padres game a little early and sauntered up the stairs to The Diamond Room. We were the only patrons when we walked in. The place is retro-chic cool with baseball vibes mixed in. Dimly lit in red neon gave it a '70's feel. (I was 12 when the '70's ended. LOL!) We each had just one drink and we were both surprised that it was not more expensive. The drink and food prices were both very reasonable. Our bartender Jacob was a totally cool dude. he was affable and funny. He really kept the vibe lively as others wandered in. I'd love to return with my wife and have dinner. The menu looked like it has some great and unique offerings.

We stopped by here before our concert at Petco Park and the vibes were perfect. They had a Dj there playing all the right hip hop jams. We ordered some of their specialty drinks and some appetizers. The espresso martini was yummy! The flatbread and fries hit the spot. The space was cozy but not a huge space. I'd definitely go back when I'm downtown.

We stopped in around 6 PM on a Tuesday and were actually the only people at the bar. Honestly, that wasn't a bad thing. It was quiet, relaxing, and gave me a chance to catch up with a friend without having to yell over a crowd. The space itself is unique. I absolutely loved the decor and overall atmosphere. Our bartender was fantastic and provided exceptional service throughout our visit. We barely made it in before happy hour ended (4-6 PM), and he quickly got in our first order so we wouldn't miss it. Drinks * Old Fashioned: smooth, well-balanced, and made just right. * Pink Lady: a classic cocktail the bartender recommended. He warned me it was on the drier side, and he was absolutely right. It wasn't particularly flavorful, but if you enjoy classic, spirit-forward cocktails on the drier side, you'll probably appreciate it more than I did. Food * Smashburger: absolutely phenomenal. One of the best smashburgers I've had in a long time. During happy hour it's $12 instead of $16, and it's a substantial burger that's well worth the price. * Parmesan Fries: thin-cut fries lightly topped with Parmesan. I'm a huge fan of thin fries, and these were cooked perfectly. They also have a photo booth, which was a fun touch. You get two strips with three photos on each, and you can choose between black-and-white or color. While I know the bar probably doesn't control the pricing, $8 felt a little steep for a photo booth session. My biggest feedback would be the cocktail menu. It's fairly limited, and I would have loved to see more unique or signature cocktails. I also think they could do a better job marketing themselves. Several people I've talked to had never even heard of this place. While I enjoyed having the space mostly to ourselves, if I'm looking for a lively atmosphere with a lot of energy, this probably wouldn't be my first choice. The limited cocktail selection and lack of crowd make it feel more suited for a low-key evening than a fun night out (although it was only a Tuesday and pretty early. I hear they get packed for concerts and on Padres game days). That said, the food was excellent, the happy hour offered great value, and the bartender truly went above and beyond. The service alone made the experience memorable, and I'd happily return for the smash burger and fries.

Honestly pretty disappointed with my experience here. I was super excited to see a new lounge opening downtown! Location is superb right next to the ballpark. Went with a group of four on a Friday for happy hour. We ordered three Yuzu margs and a strawberry cocktail of some sort, a long with the popcorn. *Beware if you're allergic to stevia or any artificial sweeteners* I asked to make the drink less sweet and was told they were premade. I ended up with a MASSIVE migraine later that evening that kept me up all night because I'm allergic to stevia and artificial sweeteners (which it guaranteed had). The waiter should have been upfront with the ingredients. Was a horrible night and into the morning of no sleep. The popcorn was mediocre at best. It was completely stale, cold, and tiny. Not even worth the $3. The space itself is actually pretty neat. Dark and loungey vibes galore- but the drinks and food were a fail for me. Especially getting sick afterwards. All this time, effort & money spent for a new spot in a prime location, to just be subpar. I definitely won't be back for happy hour. Maybe the full dinner is better but this experience was pretty off putting. Staff was nice but this place has some work to do if they're going to keep up with other bars DT.

Best bar in San Diego. The trivia guy was so funny and the drinks are super good. Please go to this bar. The ambiance is incredible.

The whole place is aesthetically pleasing. The service was good , our waiters were very friendly and attentive. We got our drinks pretty quick and I had a old fashioned drink. For food we ordered the aguachile fish and the bbq chicken flatbread . The fish wasn't too bad I just wouldn't order it again the flatbread was really good the bread was soft inside and a little crunchy from the out , I think it was perfect. But again the service and the whole staff were great , I'd definitely recommend it for a date night and the drinks were yummy ! Good luck to everyone I hope the business goes great!!!!

Had a fantastic experience here with my boyfriend. Our server Will was great and very knowledgeable with the drinks on the menu. He recommended drinks to try based on our individual tastes. Service was fantastic and very quick. Will was very attentive to our needs during our time here. I tried the dirtiest martini which was very smooth, but wasn't my thing so I also got the strawberry fields and highly recommend it if you like fruity drinks. My boyfriend tried the spitfire and the yuzu margarita and loved both. Food wise, we got the fondue for 2, the Parmesan fries, the smash burger and the cookies à la mode. All were phenomenal! We will definitely be returning again!!

Many of the drinks, including Homing Beacon, are rum forward but they have options for you to switch spirits. I got the Revival Mission mocktail which was a bit sour. I parked on the street close to the dinner spot I went to and then walked over to Charade. Ambiance (5/5): Charade is a speakeasy so here's your clue. It's located inside Balboa. Look for the room with the arcade games and you're on the right track. Once you enter the speakeasy, you'll immediately be impressed with the old school charm. It seats roughly 20-30 people and there's a bar on one end and a stage on the other end. Old school red curtains add to the vibe. And here's the best part. On Mondays, it's jazz night. Local musicians will play which makes for a great time. Service (3/5): There was one bartender working when we were there. Overall, she provided pretty good service. There was one comment she made which rubbed me the wrong way but no biggie. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so were on a liquid diet. I did notice that they have a few snacks available like popcorn. Drinks (4.5/5): When you think of speakeasies, you think of elevated cocktails. I look for creativity and an interesting blend of flavors and ingredients. The menu here, while not huge, has some interesting options. Outside of the menu itself, the prices are reasonable (especially for California). And they make you stiff drinks which is always appreciated. Taking into account the cocktails and the ambiance, Charade is an awesome laid-back speakeasy.
