my experience with Diamond Taxi company before this month - September 2025 has been excellent, the woman who took my calls before then was excellent. She was warm, articulate and supportive. I don't recognize the different people that answer the phone now nor the odd instructions they've given the drivers. Diamond Taxi says it is just a "dispatch center" and that they can't do anything about sexual harrassment. I would seriously think twice about taking one of these cabs because they do not provide any customer service support and let their cab drivers run wild and act however they want with no consequences or responsibility. Just had a pickup from my home to the airport. I requested flat rate from the dispatcher. The dispatcher quoted me the price. The driver said he didn't know anything about flat rate and demanded the meter price. I gave him what the meter said without a tip as it equalled the flat rate with the tip. The driver opened the trunk and didn't budge from his seat making me lift my suitcase myself. In addition, for the pickup he went past my house and made me take my suitcase down my porch steps myself. I definitely will not be calling Diamond in future. read more

Called for a cab to my house at 8am. Was told it would take 10 minutes. After two more phone calls, my cab finally arrived at 9:30. Their excuse was that it was raining. I've tried to support the cab industry because I feel that uber isn't working on a level playing field, but this will be the last time I call for a cab with diamond. read more

I usually use these guys...but today was the worst experience I ever had from any cab company..... My destination was a major street cross section and the cabbie had not a clue what I was talking about! Everyone knows that Sheppard is north of the 401! This guy insisted that we have to take the high way (401) to get to sheppard! Not to mention it took 45 minutes to get a cab, the hygiene of the driver was far less than par, and he spoke to me like I was fool. After using Beck taxi for 30+ years they screwed up a pre-requested car very badly on Valentine's Day and failed to apologize... Just made excuses. So I tried Diamond Taxi. Their people have been very professional with us to date. They tend to underestimate the time to get a cab to us when ordered. When they cannot meet a request because they are to busy they tell me (unlike Beck who took and order, failed to deliver, and made excuses). The icing on the cake that has raised the bar in my opinion is their iPhone app. It actually shows me where the call assigned to my pickup is so I can estimate when to be ready. I've used these folks 6-7 times since dumping Beck and have never been happier. Shout out to the driver of 2472 that were in right now! read more

NEGATIVE five stars if I could... If you're thinking about using Diamond... DON'T... JUST DON'T!!!! Their driver(s?) "ride-share" you with Uber fares they pick up enroute. They don't even ask you. They just tell the ride-shares to get in without even asking you much less telling you. You're basically paying taxi-fare to ride a bus. Picked up Diamond Taxi at Western Hospital taxi stand last Thursday with my 83yo mother and her walker. Driver seemed helpful and pleasant enough UNTIL ... halfway to our destination at Bloor/Euclid... driver pulls over near Harbord/Euclid, rolls down the passenger window, and yells to a strange man standing on the sidewalk, "C'mon, get in, get in!" Before I knew what was happening, the strange man gets in, taxi takes off. I have no idea what the cab driver is doing. He never asked me or my 83yo mom if he could pick up another passenger. Nor did the stranger entering our cab ask if we were sharing our ride. He just plunked himself and his phone down in the front passenger seat, turns, and says, "Thanks so much for sharing your ride." AS IF!!!!! He just ASSUMED we were sharing our ride with him or maybe he PRESUMED we were because the cab driver gave him permission to HIJACK our ride. I was so confused I didn't even know which way we were going anymore. But we were on Euclid and Bloor wasn't far. I never so much as looked at the strange man that got in our car. I paid my full fare and got out as fast as I could at Bloor/Euclid. But the strange man gets out the front and comes round to grab my mother getting out. I yell at him to leave her alone. I got my mom's walker from the cab driver and never looked back. My mom was really upset and confused afterward by the whole situation. I found out afterward that this is the latest and greatest from Uber called... "ride-sharing". To my mom and I in the back of the cab, it felt more like "kidnapping". I'm a devoted taxi user despite the Uber invasion. I believe drivers who are required to know where they're going and get there quickly... without asking/staring at their phone the entire time to drive... is better for riders and for the city. I believe an entire fleet of taxi drivers required to learn CPR is a phenomenal boon for Torontonians. I believe commercial ride service vehicles, whether full-time or part-time, should be required to clearly and boldly LABEL their vehicles that INCLUDES a phone number, visible from front and back. But that said, the taxi industry needs to clean up their act as well. Reliably clean cabs and relatively new (5yrs max) in good repair would be a nice start, and drivers who don't take advantage of their fares would be another. Drivers like this won't make me consider Uber but I definitely will never EVER get in another Diamond Taxi ever again after this experience. Nor should you! GOOD RIDDANCE DIAMOND TAXI!!!! read more

This will always be hit or mis for taxis but after 10 years with good beck service I hailed a diamond cab as I was late for my first day of the job and didnt factor in long weekend traffic, This driver basically GTA5'd me to work on time. well done diamond! read more

Let's just say a driver acted very inappropriately and the management's response was "ohh we talked to him, he's old so sometimes he forgets his place". This was back in 2015 man probably isn't even alive anymore but still deeply concerning how they brushed me off. read more

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would, and this is why: Diamond Taxi: A few nights ago my close friend got into a cab, leaving from my apartment going to her place - that's when the nightmare began. The cab driver kept trying to have her touch him the entire ride, (grab my hand, give me a high five, see my shoulders are so built touch them! etc) She was very uncomfortable, clearly, and kept her distance. She then decided it would be a good idea to call me and pretend I was her husband, loudly, so he would stop talking to her - which he did for a few minutes. When they arrived at their destination, he refused to stop driving, and slowly cruised around, telling her she needed to pay him before he took her to her door. She tried using her debit card - to no avail. Tried again, while still on the phone with me - connection error, timed out. The driver then insisted she go to the bank, and that he would drive her. She said she was uncomfortable with it and wanted to go inside, and that maybe her husband (who was at work, unfortunately) might have cash. he refused and started to drive her to the bank (against her will). They then drove around for about 10 minutes looking for an ATM (this was 1am or so, and she was terrified as he drove her through seedy areas in strip malls looking for an ATM). When she finally got cash out he followed her to the ATM and told her he would take her home. Upon arriving home, it turns out he had charged her for the trip TO THE BANK as well, and wanted more money than she had taken out!She ended up just throwing two twenty dollar bills at him and ran to the door. SINCE: She had received a debit statement from her bank that she HAD infact been charged TWICE for the cab ride ON TOP of him taking 40$ in cash from her. She's terrified, with anxiety issues, and didn't want to report this to anyone. I've tried to contact Diamond taxi - who is refusing to contact me back. Stating that there is no manager available during the day (not sure how that's possible in a big company like that) and my next step is the police, but I dont really want to drag her into all of that. Please AVOID this company, the drivers are sleazy as fuck! The driver's cab number was 2417 tariff a. And, driver, if you're reading this - we're going to do everything we can to get you either fired or brought up on charges or both. read more

I would recommend other services over diamond. Today was a good example of why. Called for pickup at 7:11am and called back at 7:29am. Cab showed at 7:55am and said I had only been waiting 10 min. I was at Ontario place in the morning with no events or anything like that to attribute to poor service. Driver said it was because it was raining. I can also note that the quality of drivers seems to have gone down hill over the last year of using them but at least it has made for some entertaining rides. read more

My colleague and I were picked up from the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Toronto at 9:30am traveling to Pearson Airport. We were picked up from the hotel and delivered to the airport without any problems. The issue occurred as I was trying to pay the driver for my taxi fare. This particular driver asked if I had cash to pay for the taxi fare when we arrived at the airport. I asked whether the driver accepted credit cards as I did not have spare cash to pay and wished to pay by credit card. The driver advised that he would incur a $10 processing and handling fee for the credit card transaction and insisted that I pay by cash. He also mentioned that if I wished to pay by credit card that he would want me to include an additional $10 tip for the processing and handling fee that he would incur. I replied back to him that he did not inform my colleague and I that he did not accept credit cards when we entered his taxi and that imposing the cash only requirement or pay by credit card with an additional $10 tip was not fair to me and that I should not have to pay anything additional for use of credit cards as there were signs posted in the taxi stating that CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED and there were no signs or warnings that additional handling fees or surcharges would be imposed for using a credit card. Upon telling the driver this, the driver reverted to verbal abuse towards me calling me a mean person and that he wished to deal with my colleague instead of me because he knew my colleague would be nicer than me. At this point, I had been in the taxi arguing with the driver for a few minutes already and I needed to get into the airport to register for my flight. I finally agreed to pay with cash, (cash which I had reserved for my personal use), and I gave the driver $60.00. The total fare was about $56.00. I asked for my change back. The driver looked at me and again began verbally abusing me again going on about how mean of a person I was since he believed that I would not be tipping him. I told the driver that tips are for services above and beyond what is expected and at this point he was not providing me with any additional service as he did not accept my credit card and did not even put my luggage in the trunk or take it out as my colleague had already removed both of our luggage and was inside the terminal getting himself checked in. I didn't have time to continue arguing about these issues and gave up when I told the driver to give me a receipt and keep the change as long as I got a receipt. He grumbled as he filled out the receipt and continued to berate me as he left the airport. I must say that this is one of the worst and most unprofessional experiences that I have ever had with a taxi driver and I will not be looking for a Diamond Taxi ever again if this is the type of treatment that I can expect again. read more
