It's crazy how you happen to need these types of people when you least expect it. We discovered we had a raccoon, and possible babies, inside an empty post (did not know it was a hollow post until this happened) outside our front door. After calling around to multiple companies, including Animal Control (found out they don't do this service but refer you to others), I started making calls. I did a general google search for "raccoon removal" and made about four calls before coming across this company. Let me just say, The Wildlife Specialist was by far the cheapest company I could find. I didn't necessarily choose them because of the price, although it was very appealing, but I chose them because they could get out to my house the fastest. I wasn't scared of the raccoon, although we did have a run-in with it on the roof where it hissed, but we didn't want it to do anymore damage to the post/roof or give off anymore "hey raccoons, come on over here" when this one was done making our house its home. When I finally met up with Tyler, he was able to see that there was indeed a raccoon there in the post. He couldn't confirm the babies, but we were pretty sure they were there too. He realized he needed some humane traps and maybe some backup, so he agreed to meet the next day to take care of the problem. He returned the next day to find that apparently the raccoon had left, and there was nothing in the post. THANK GOD!! We suspect our flag and sign made too much noise in the wind and scared them out. He quickly boarded it up, so we could make sure the raccoon did not return to that spot. Because I hadn't made it home yet, he asked if I wanted him to do an inspection on the house for other damage and potentially vulnerable spots for critters. I agreed, and by the time I got home he had a rundown of things we needed to be done. He reviewed all of the vulnerable areas, including the areas where the raccoon tried to get in before settling on our cozy post, and let us decide what we wanted to fix to avoid any future problems with unwanted guests. I have to say, having never had to deal with this type of thing, Tyler and his company were amazing and made the experience as pleasant as it could be. He is extremely responsive, via phone and text, and won't screw you around with random charges for things that don't really need to be done. He's good at his job, and I will definitely be using this company to complete our work around the outside of our house. read more

Due to dirty hoarding neighbors, my house was breached by disgusting mice and rats. I tried traps, bait and other remedies but it seemed for every rodent I caught, 5 more would show up in replacement. I stumbled upon this pest control and Tyler showed up and rescued me from these aggressive creatures. He closed and sealed all entry points and within days all of the rodents were gone. Pro's: Tyler came out to our home last Fall and did a good job of getting rid of the rat's we had in our attic. Con's: Tyler did not come back has planned to check up on the rat issue. When the issue resurfaced this Fall, I reached out to Tyler and spoke to him on the phone. He asked me to text him and he would respond with his availability the last week of November. After texting him a couple of times he still has not responded and we will go to another service to help us with our issue. We used Tyler Duncan of "Wildlife Specialists" to install coyote rollers and we emphatically do not recommend their services. It's been a nightmare. The installation was improper and as a result, just days later, a quarter of the rollers don't spin freely as they should, and several are lying on the ground because they fell out! Tyler didn't use the proper brackets, and he only installed each makeshift bracket with a single screw!!! He also failed to include the 1/8" space between rollers and brackets recommended by the manufacturer. As a result the rollers are binding, rendering them useless. We have to have them all reinstalled. Also, the "powder coated" black is flaking right off. Tyler has been very unprofessional, attempted to bait & switch pricing, and he cut corners by using inferior materials to cut his cost. Please don't use this company. We wish we hadn't! I have a lot of respect for a company that tells me I probably don't need their services. I called immediately upon noticing a few rat droppings in my garage. I was told I may be able to handle it myself, and given some advice on how to triage the situation. This shows true professionalism and business ethics. The Wildlife Specialist was excellent. An animal (opossum) had died beneath my terraced back yard deck (25 x 30'). The smell was so bad, no one could go outside or leave the back sliders open because the smell would come in the house. Landscapers as well as a carpenter had given it their all the previous day in an attempt to locate the dead animal with no luck. Tyler from The Wildlife Specialist arrived and got face down on the deck in several areas to try in locate. Mind you the smell was so pervasive all ends of the yard smelled. He narrowed it down and backed off the screws for one of the trex board's and there was the culprit, a rather large decaying opossum. He handled getting rid of the dead animal, deodorized the area and put the board back just as he found it. I strongly recommend their service when faced with a similar issue. read more

Not very impressed. This guy had no problem taking $149 of my money just to come to my home and tell me he couldn't take care of my problem unless I spent around $700 to do it "his way". I took care of the problem "my way" and he could have been clear about his approach before he spent about 5 minutes looking at my property and writing me a bill. Poor business practice. Wouldn't use. Update: then he calls me not to see what he could do to make it right but to challenge MY integrity. Beware. There's lots of people out there doing what he does, I just picked the wrong one. The worst experience!. I hired Jeremy Duncan set out traps for animals that were chewing through drip irrigation lines. He used a lot of bait in large rat type spring traps. And accomplished killing "two innocent birds" and traps sprung with no animal remaining. When I asked him how could this happen, he said it is strange. This was the first week. I asked to discontinue the service the 2nd week not wanting any more innocent birds to be killed so terribly. He said he'd repay the 2nd week but only left me a check for a portion of the amount. Very disappointed. Innocent birds killed mercilessly. Don't ever use this company, seriously I don't know how these other reviews can be real. read more

I do not recommend this company. Tyler (the owner) charged me $500 to allegedly "rodent-proof" my home. Several days later, there were animals in my attic again. I scheduled a time for him to come back out and he never showed up. I had to contact him and ask if he was still coming. Our house is old - like California old - 70's. We heard rats in the attic. I called Jeremy. He came out the next day. There was tons of flashing missing around the bottom of the house - 'entry points' for the rats. He and his partner went out to get the flashing right then to close up the gaps. They worked around the entire house until they felt it was sealed. Then they got up into the attic. They were back twice a week until they were certain the house was sealed and they'd caught all the stragglers. Super friendly. Super competent. On time. Reliable. I repeated this question and paraphrased his answer several times to make sure there are no misunderstandings. Do you have the tools to determine how rats get into my attic without asking me to trust you? Sure he said, we have several ways. We can show you hair, oil residue, pheromones. There are a lot of ways. If the entry points are close, I show you the proof and if you cannot get into the attic or on the roof, I'll take pictures so that you can see for yourself. Proof Tyler not guess work, right? Right. Tyler, one more time, I want to make sure that you don't come to my home and tell me to trust you and your experience. You are going to prove where these rats are getting in. Of course. Great. Let's make an appointment. Tyler shows up and the first thing he tells me is that he was going to look around for potential entry points based on his experience, the most likely entry and exit points. I really got upset. Tyler we discussed this several times before I made the appointment. You are not telling me that I should trust your expertise and that your eyes are sensitive enough to detect oil from rat fur and pheromones? And after you see something, I should trust that you are right, are you? When he found out that I really was looking for proof and not guesswork, the conversation went downhill. These guys are great...professional, timely, and thorough. Yelppers we don't hesitate to recommend The Wildlife Specialist for your nuisance problem. Our rodent infestation had been going on for over six months. We tried tried a few companies that spread poison (which I always worried our dog would get into) or JUST set traps but the lil buggers kept getting in our house. Ugg! After being at my wits end I called the Wildlife Specialists and the owner of the company actually answered my desperate phone call at 7:00 pm. The next day, right on schedule, a respectful technician -Tanner- arrived and did a complete inspection of our entire house and property. He found several "entry points" that the rats were using to come in. He also showed us rat poop and tunneling in our attic and insulation. We were totally grossed out at the extent of the damage. Tanner explained their prices for services (cheaper than the companies we used before) and what they call an attic restoration. He suggested we tackle our problem in phases starting with trapping the rats out then sealing them out. After, he made sure no more rats were coming in; they removed the dirty insulation, cleaned everything up, and replaced the insulation with eco green friendly insulation.
