I have put off getting my wedding ring repaired for 3 years because of the prices I have been quoted by local jewelers. Today I stopped by Diamonds by Monet to get advice and an estimate of how much it would cost to repair. They gave me a few options and I was so pleased with the ideas & prices, I went ahead and left it to be repaired. Beware, make sure you know your diamonds, you won't get your education here and don't expect them to keep their promise. Especially returning within their policy dates, and or get a call back like they say they will when they get you what you ask for or would rather instead of. You won't ever hear back.They sold my husband a ring already in a setting which hid a big flaw. 5 stars all the way!!!! I went in to Diamonds by Monet two weeks ago after researching numerous gold buyers online and via reviews on Yelp. From the moment I entered the store, I was greeted promptly by Moses and made to feel "at home." I went in skeptical not really knowing what to expect selling my gold directly to a jeweler. Moses thoroughly explained the process, tested my gold and weighed it in front of me. There were several pieces that I wanted to know specific prices on and he happily obliged. I was pleasantly surprised at the price he was willing to pay. It was extremely fair and I assured him I would come back with other pieces I knew I wanted to sell at some point. I went back today and Moses greeted me the moment I walked in and welcomed me back. I told him I had a few more items that I was interested in selling and explained I had gone to another "gold buyer place" prior to coming in to see what the difference would be. Without hesitation Moses said I guarantee you I'll pay you the most! And guess what?? He was right!! Without giving him specifics his first offer came in over $100 more than the place I had just left. I highly recommend you see for yourself! One of the worst retail experiences I have ever experienced in a public business. I have been in a few times, maybe twice and dealt with a friendly man with his father alongside whom was simply a "greeter" of sorts to those that entered. On a third occasion I was helped by another man similiar in age to the one I was most used to dealing with however this was like jeckyll and Hyde! I was selling a small amount of gold and mind you I do have my own certified scale at home along with tools and cleaning supplies as I once was involved in the jewelry business years ago. I cleaned my pieces and weighed out my jewelry prior to going in and had everything written down on an index card. I had also made a prior stop at a gold shop in Murrieta and had everything weighed out (it matched my weight) and was given a quote for the gold. I ten drove over to Diamonds By Monet, HUGE MISTAKE. This time I was helped by the other brother (I'm assuming family) who's immediate attitude was just outright rude. I explained to him that I'd like a price on this gold I would like to sell. He takes it BEHIND the counter to weigh it out then comes back up front to tell me the gram weight and his price if I were to sell the gold. I explained to him that I weighed it out at home already as well as stopped by another jeweler who gave me his card and wrote down the gram weight. Now here is were it gets nasty. He becomes irate with me, becomes very verbally condescending and accuses me of calling him a liar and a cheat! I have another patron standing next to me watching the entire ordeal in amazement. I asked him to please lower his voice and to speak to me professionally and with respect. He refused and asked me to leave his store. I then looked at the other gentleman whom I've dealt with in the past and asked him why I was being treated so rudely and if he would help me instead. The first guy then shouts "no he is not going to help you I am helping you!" So then my next step was asking him if he could weigh it out on the counter so I could see the gram weight, and mentioned that most all jewelers have no problem doing so, He again became IRATE and began to scream at me at which time I lost my cool and started yelling back out of anger saying that maybe this is the way you treat or speak to women where you are from but that I will not allow you to yell at me in this manner in front of customers! Of course I took my business back to the jeweler to California Jewelers and dealt with the same man again who was nothing but professional and gracious, I was out in less than 5 minutes. We both had a good laugh about Diamonds by Monet and of course, I would never ever recommend anyone to that jewelry store unless you are very tolerent at being yelled at both in English and in their language, maybe Persian? It was an awful experience and I hope he realizes I have not only written this experience on Yelp, I myself as a small business owner with many many clients in the I.E. have told all my friends and colleauges about the horribly rude service I recieved at Diamonds by Monet. You should be ashamed of yourself for attempting to be so demeaning to women, you are truly a piece of shit and need an attitude adjustment in a major way. Good luck with that. read more
