I recently got engaged and was given an heirloom engagement ring, which was beautifully re-plated and polished here at LD Jewelers. My fiancé insisted we go back to LD all the way from the Northwest side of Chicago for the re-sizing, and now I understand why! Mike was so helpful to us, and the folks working on the jewelry did a fantastic job. Specifically, my engagement ring has an engraved message from the couple it belonged to originally, which is very precious to me. Given that the ring had to be cut about 2 whole sizes down (tiny fingers), I was concerned and expected that some of the message would be cut off. Somehow, some way, Mike and his team did the seemingly impossible and preserved all the engraving. The prices for services were very reasonable, and the customer service was wonderful, too. Very dissappointed with the service. I went in for a simple engagement ring appraisal. He basically said my fiancee got ripped off and LD Jewelers could have sold a ring for 1/2 the price and with better diamonds. He even had the nerve to ask "Did he actually pay that much for the ring"? I told him all I want is an appraisal--which i don't think is very hard for a jewerly business to do and easy money for them! Ended up taking my ring and leaving! What a low blow--I don't care what kind of ring I got, how much it cost, or what kind of diamonds. I am very happy with the ring my fiancee picked out and would not change it for the world!
