I told them no, but then two staff members continued following me around, demanding that I pay for it and threatening to call the police. Their behavior was very intimidating, and I ended up crying in front of them while asking them to stop treating me that way. I truly felt profiled and discriminated against during the entire situation. Afterward, I posted a Google review and tried many times to contact the manager, but my calls never resolved anything. Eventually, their lawyer contacted me and asked me to remove the review, saying they would have the staff go through training. However, that did not resolve the harm that was done, because the experience left me traumatized.

Everything I looked at was in good condition, especially considering how old some of the items were. A moment later, I heard her loudly say "We've been here all day!" and I noticed her speaking about me with her two coworkers while they all stared in my direction. I approached the counter and asked for her manager's name. She gave it to me, and when I said I would be speaking to the manager about her behavior, she again responded angrily, saying " I'll make sure to let her know." For a shop that claims to be a charity benefiting domestic violence victims, the attitude displayed by its staff does not reflect the mission they promote. I am a long time La Grange resident, and I've both donated and purchased items here over the years, but after this experience, I will no longer be patronizing this establishment.

I proceeded to want to check out and two workers were too busy complaining and I stood there and waited until they were done. I didn't know that this was a store until I drove up in front of it. This kind of "bait and switch" tactic is something common for shady businesses to drive foot traffic. (The lesson here is *always* street-view an address even if you're running late.) When I contacted him over FB, he never said it was a business or that this item was actively for sale on the floor. Even when I was running late to pick and messaged him *from my car as I was driving there* with a new estimated time of arrival, he confirmed that it was OK and never said it was a business or that he was still lining up other customers. I got there just in time to watch another person arrive to pick the item (that I had driven nearly an hour out of my way to come pick up) because he also arranged a pick-up with her at the same time. This business claims to be a charity for a supported living facility for recovering addicts, which is laudable and the type of business I would love to support. As far as an internet search tells me, Trinity Sober Living is an LLC, not a non-profit. While I'm sure there are many for-profit recovery centers that help people, they are not charities. It's disappointing to see such deceptive and misleading business practices from this owner.

If you've ever watched A&E's Hoarders that is what this place is... it is a dumpster of of closed unknown merchandise, you have to get a worker to see what's in every box, that's a task in itself. On top of that the bigger furniture pieces like consoles, lawnmowers, lawn furniture... the owner is charging more than it would be at a Marshall's or TJ Maxx... $300 for a lawnmower, $350 for a console (just check out FB Marketplace). Why they aren't opening the boxes as they come in and categorizing which table they'd belong is beyond my understanding. I also don't understand why there isn't prices on the furniture, seems as if they are haggling, giving different prices to different ppl. Needless to say I won't be back. Don't make the hike to check this place out I'm sure you'll pass better stores.
