However, when I saw Dr. Chang, she could not find these 11 cavities :-) She commended me on my dental hygiene, and sent me on my way. These qualities are so hard to find in one dentist, and I honestly saw a string of not-so-great dentists before seeing her. This makes me appreciate her even more! But, even more than that, she is a dentist with a heart. She works with you to meet your needs both financial and personal. The office staff are very nice and welcoming. I also reconfirmed in person before the appointment that there would be no charge. It was just a Cleaning, x rays and general dentistry. However, I was billed $103 saying they were out of network. I called in April and spoke to several staff who said they would get back to me. They never got back to me. I called the CIGNA dental insurance and they confirmed that this was a mistake as the dentist was in network. I also checked online at CIGNA and it says that he is in network. Because the staff kept saying that he would get back to me, and never did, I assumed it was resolved. However, I just got a bill in June. I'm writing a review as contacting the staff does not seem to be working. I am happy to revise or delete this review once this matter is resolved.

The office is modern enough that for my son's emergency treatment, the operatory they used was quick to come online as soon as we got there and they got us through the emergency treatment. Now for the kicker: this office is pretty much a safe choice no matter which doctor you pick, but here is my take: If you need diagnostics relative to bite/articulation and jaw mechanics/kinesthetics, I would highly suggest Dr. Hirschfeld as she looks at the problem more from a engineering perspective and understands interactions of physical structures very well. In other cases (internal teeth issues, surface/structural, soft tissue) Dr. Navabi has the edge there. Also, Dr. Navabi is very good at calming an anxious patient. The good news is if you can catch them both, they function very well as a team and can tap both for their expertise. Its a treat watching the two of bounce potential issues and treatment options off of each other... Both appear to be on top of their studies and can handle questions on the latest and greatest in dentistry. Last (but not least), the office is clean, billing was reasonable, all billing happened predictably (both my son and wife are on my insurance with Metlife), and no complaints there from either myself or Metlife.
