had an outstanding experience with Jasmine at European Wax Center - Dunn Loring Metro. She is, without question, the gentlest wax technician I have ever had. I used to feel so anxious before waxing appointments that I would seriously consider having a drink beforehand just to calm my nerves. With Jasmine, that is no longer necessary. Her technique is incredibly gentle, efficient, and precise. I genuinely do not know how she manages to remove hair so comfortably, but I am extremely grateful for it. 4/18/25 *Part 3 Of 3* The Sap?, Sludge?, or Serum is designed to reduce hair growth speed, remove and wax residue from the body and to reduced friction from the body. Ms. Odaly seemed like she was ready to move on out like The Jeffersons did in Archie Bunker's neighborhood. When I asked for a mirror (Yes, I like to inspect the work done on me before I leave the European Wax Center) Ms. Odaly looked a bit unhappy. Much to my chagrin, I saw hairs that were missed. I pointed this out to Ms.Odaly and she fixed the problem promptly, but in the Cannonball position this time. Did I meantion in the Cannonball Position your buttcheeks are parted a little more than in the Doggie Style (AKA...Down On All Fours) position. Ms. Odaly's ambience level seemed to go back up to 70% while fixing the missed hair problem. When done and upon a second inspection, no butt hairs were seen. Ms. Odaly applied more The Sap?, Sludge?, or Serum to my whole gluteus maximus area. I can begin to tell you what it feels like if leftover wax residue is left on the genitals area...let alone the rest of the body. Ms. Odaly made sure this wasn't the case. I left feeling like Ms. Odaly's ambience level was at 75% overall. Ms. Odaly is the only one trained in Male Brazilian Waxing, but I got the sense she would prefer waxing females. Or maybe I am just high mantinace, but I was respectful as possible while around her. It could also be Ms. Odaly did not know me, and that the next time we meet, she won't give off the sense of tension in the air. I made another appointment with Ingrid Kennedy and Sasha Doyle at the end of my treatment with Ms. Odaly. I know I will be back here to try a Brazilian or full leg waxing, but the time frame I put down for May 2nd @ 4:30 might change. Oh!, one a final note. The European Wax Center does waxing at a fast pace on a timed schedule. Now whether this is in actuality or just a reffence point to follow is something I am not use to. I feel I will get a better idea when I experience full legs waxing. I know one other place that talks about time periods for waxing but have never been waxed by the staff members. One star because I listened to the receptionist make multiple phone calls reminding clients about the late policy. Yet, I had an appointment was 5 minutes early and at my appointment time 6:30pm she said it will be another 10minutes. After 18 minutes I had to leave since I had to pick up food for my kids that I already ordered and really there was no telling when my appointment was really going to happen. I didn't select a specific person for my appointment but a new client came in and she went in ahead of me even though I was already waiting. The receptionist was apologetic and she was pleasant when I arrived. FIRST TIME CLIENT: I gave them a call the day of 6/23/20. Told them it was my first time ever and I haven't had a good experience with sugar wax. The receptionist was in training but this girl was exceptional on the phone. I was nervous and she eased my mind to just make the appointment. Came in, very safe took my temperature , friendly atmosphere at the front desk and waiting for a Brief moment. Mellisa came out introduced herself and we went to the back. I've been coming to EWC for years, in other locations as well. I started off in Texas, but when i transferred to VA i was impressed with the quality staff. Who likes to have someone all up in their vajayjay? It's awkward, but the staff at Vienna EWC has always been professional, friendly and never judgmental for how things look to begin with! Received brow waxing on Saturday and felt burning pain afterwards but didn't think much of it. Met my friend on Sunday and the first thing she said was what happened to your brows and that's when I noticed cut marks and red skin tear below my brow line. She said it looked like wax ripped skin and when I googled it, there were pictures with extreme cases but some that looked minor cases like mine. I called ewc on Tuesday with my concerns and was asked to send pictures to the manager's email saying they would give me a call the next day. Today is Saturday and still no phone call. The picture was taken 3 days after with ointment but the scar was bigger and more apparent on Sunday. Maybe they didn't think the picture was enough. I have been here thrice. The first waxer was amazing! The rest two times was an awful experience. Especially the last one. The waxer did not follow the pattern which they are supposed too. I kept telling her to follow my hair direction but would not listen. I still have hair on my skin and along with that it's peeled badly. Coming to the receptionist, she was not empathetic towards the situation and was not even paying complete attention. I have immense gratitude towards European wax center but I don't think I will be coming here again. I have the urge to give 1 star but 2 because of the first experience. read more

Be prepared for 2 things on every single visit: 1. To be harassed that the tip you are giving your wax professional is too low. Update 02/28/2017: Rachelle the manager called and left a message for me. I called her back a few hours later once I was out of work. Her responses were astonishing but not surprising. I let her know about my concerns. She immediately got pretty defensive (that's fine, it's her business so I understand that), but not a single apology was issued. She said statements like... "3 or 4 passes over an area is normal, our waxers have a pattern they follow." "Diana is our best waxer we have not had any issues with her." "Nobody has ever gotten blisters from our wax." Okay, well, I did, so I am calling you to let you know about it! She asked if I could return to the salon so that they could "take a look." Um, no thank you. I am a relatively modest person who doesn't need yet another person looking at my hoo-ha. I was already out of my comfort zone enough with this wax. But THEN she asked if I would send a picture! A picture! Are you kidding me?! I shouldn't even have to explain why that is wrong. She asked if I had been putting anything on the skin to help. I told her I hadn't, because the skin was so raw that I was pretty nervous to put anything on it. I had put on a tiny bit of hydrocortisone cream right on the blisters, and she immediately started saying that made it worse. No, it didn't, it actually helped them start to heal. I work in dermatology, so I know it was okay to put on my skin in that moment. Rachelle said that she would talk with Diana and get back to me tomorrow. I decided to call corporate since my call with Rachelle was unacceptable. I spoke with Stephanie in guest services (who was wonderful). She apologized for my experience and told me that for your first time two passes is normal, but absolutely not three or four. She also was surprised that I was asked to provide a picture of the area. She explained that she was going to forward my comments to upper management, but since EWC is a franchise, there wasn't a lot she could do. She did ask if there was anything else she could do or if I wanted to be contacted regarding this situation. I let her know that I just wanted my concerns to be heard, and that I did not need to be contacted back. Quite frankly, I'm over this location and its bad business practices. This is a great place. I have seen Cassandra and Diana, both wonderful. They are diligent, clean and make you comfortable, even when you're 8 months pregnant. The only slight drawback is that they try to market the products and packages hard. I recommend both things. Packages save you money, and the couple exfoliating products I used have been good. I just don't enjoy the marketing push every time I am there. That said, the front desk staff are incredibly lovely and courteous, so it is not a big deal. read more

This review is only based off one experience but I definitely plan on going back to European Wax Center again. I had a great experience with Diana. I called at about 10 a.m. and was able to get an appointment for 12:30 to get a brazilian and brow waxing. I showed up 15 minutes early (just to be safe), and Diana was able to take me right away. She asked about my past experience with waxing and explained everything she was doing. She continually made sure the temper of the wax was okay for me and I watched as she never reused a stick. She used each one once and then threw it away, never to dip it back in to the was once it had been used. She was thorough and gave me a lot of good information about skin care in between waxes as well as a recommendation to come back every three to four weeks. My brows were free since it was my first appointment at European wax center and she did an awesome job on those as well. She got the perfect shape, and didn't think them too much. She showed me ahead of time with a mirror what she planned to do with them and definitely delivered. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five was that they were pretty heavy pushing the waxing packages and products. I had to say no to a few different packages before they would just let me pay for the one waxing. Even without the savings from the package I thought the prices were very fair and I would definitely recommend european wax center. read more

I've been getting waxed for over two years now, but I've been coming to this location to see Diana for about 9 months. I used to go to the Arlington location, but once they overbooked me & a friend of mine referred me to Diana and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me since. Diana is amazing, AMAZING. I go to her for a Brazilian Wax every 4-5 weeks and she is just so precise & makes sure she gets everything, all while keeping me comfortable. She always makes sure the wax is at a temperature that comfortable for me. I can't get over how amazing Diana is, so if you ever get a chance come to this location & ask for Diana. The shopping center is also great, with numerous places to eat and it's close to Tyson's if you're in a shopping mood. read more

This place is AMAZING. I made an appointment since I didn't want to shave while in the Bahamas. It was my first time ever getting waxed, and due to some of the mixed reviews, I was a little nervous. I made my appointment with Maria in advance. The website makes it super easy to book appointments with the technician of your choice, and since I booked two weeks in advance I had plenty of appointment times to choose from. Maria was absolutely phenomenal. At the risk of TMI, I was naked from the waist down for over an hour (brazilian and full legs), but never once did it feel uncomfortable or weird. She was talkative but not overly so, extremely professional, and made sure I knew what to expect. It helped that she was very encouraging throughout the entire appointment, since there's no painless way to get waxed. The wax they use was really neat. It was warm, never too hot on the skin, and cools for removal so they don't need to use cloth or paper strips. Each time she applied the wax, the stick was thrown away and she even changed her gloves a few times. Since it was my first wax, there were one or two stubborn leg hairs that she got with a tweezer. After the waxing, she applied the ingrown hair serum (which I highly recommend!) and it helped cool the area. I cannot say enough good things about this place and Maria. She, and this place, is absolutely fantastic. It's worth every penny. read more

This is a new location in Merrifield that opened up a month or so ago. I have a wax pass (it recently expired), but have been going to the one off Main Street faithfully for the past year. Was getting ready to book with the Main Street location, but I saw there was a Merrifield location that is much closer to my job. I was a little hesitant to book with Jasmine, due to the other Yelp review, but selected "no waxer preference." There is free parking in the garage. I believe it's free for 2 hours. Phaly was my waxer and she was amazing! Not as talkative as other waxers, but that's ok. She was polite and did not rush. It was also a much less painful experience from my previous waxes with EWC. I really appreciated that. She even gave me some pointers on how to care for my waxed area. The front desk receptionist (I believe her name is Stephanie) was a complete doll. Very chatty and fun to talk with. She even signed me up for a new wax pass. I already made my next appointment with Phaly. read more

I would give this center negative stars if it was an option. I walked in for my services, stating that I had a wax pass. After I was done, I was waiting for the receptionist to tell me that she was able to apply one of my wax passes to my balance. Little do you know, she claimed that I have no passes under my name. I called the wax center that I originally purchased them at asking if they were able to pull me up and find my wax passes- they were, and they confirmed that I had 11 remaining. Despite this, the receptionist at the Vienna location I was at refused to even speak to them for guidance on how she should proceed to locate and apply my pass to my services. I finally asked her if she had the right person, and she didn't. When she did find me, she was able to see that I had 11 passes remaining (which are prepaid so I definitely didn't want to pay $50 again) but wasn't able to apply them. She wasn't willing to ask anyone for help and was insisting that I would have pay despite that hundreds of dollars I've already prepaid. I ended up paying but only because I couldn't stand being there anymore, she was getting rude. When I asked her if she could try one more time she replied "Ma'am I've already tried seven times". Great, so try one more without the horrible customer service because I haven't had this problem at other center. If they are so hard pressed on selling these passes, they should figure out how to work them globally. As far as this location, Diana was great with waxing but I won't be returning. read more

This was my first visit and Cassandra did my wax. The only other time I have gotten a wax was with strip waxing so I was pleasantly surprised that this did not use strips and there was minimal discomfort. There was a promotion to get a free wax (underarms, bikini, or eyebrows) so I opted for the eyebrows and Cassandra offered to fill them in. One side ended up a bit shorter than the other but it's not a big deal. I usually get my eyebrows threaded and this didn't hurt very much (while I think threading hurts a lot!!) so I was very happy with that. I had my legs done and I was pleased to learn about their 4 step process that includes a serum to decrease hair growth and a serum to decrease ingrown hairs. It's only been one day so I'm not exactly sure how effective those products are. I got some free samples when I left. I was not given a towel or anything but it didn't bother me that I was just in my underwear-wanted to note that for more modest folks! Definitely would recommend!! read more

This location always have a lot of appointment slots, everyone does a good job, the location is convenient, but they do push their products HARD which i don't love and have never experienced at any other locations. My wax specialist left after a few months and the quality has gone down since, then their app stopped working so I couldn't reschedule an appointment. Worst of all I called several times to reschedule and when someone did answer they would put me on hold mid sentence (2 times), I also left 2 voicemails that were never returned, and I emailed support but they called me today to confirm an appointment I've been trying to reschedule so I know they're not listening to my voicemails. I'm a 4 year customer who just renewed a few weeks ago and can't understand why it's so hard to keep being a customer. read more

I like coming to this location because my waxing specialist is the best!!!! Thank you Diana for the amazing job. She is very detail oriented and tries to make me very calm while we are in the session. The wax at the EWC is the best around the DC/VA area since they only have hard wax and no strips. Which is the best way to take that stubborn hair away...Also, they are super clean. No double dipping! Which for me is a must. I am not a fan of their after and before waxing products. I have bought many of them and follow instructions but have not seen results. But each person I'm sure has their own opinion and might work for them. read more

My services were done by Jasmine who was very thorough in her work, explaining the process and products she was using. The wax was a little too hot at some points which was uncomfortable. I think their prices are reasonable and they offer different packages for even more savings (I took advantage of the student discount on one of their packages). I had Diana and will definitely go back. I normally do my own Brazilian, have been for years, but needed it done quick before a vacation. I tried this place due to its proximity to my work and the metro even though it's gotten other so so reviews. Honestly, most of those bad reviews are probably people who have never had a Brazilian before if they were in so much pain. They didn't know what to expect. BUT! It was the cleanest place I've ever been too and they use strapless wax which is 100x more comfortable. You get a free eyebrow or underarm wax as a first timer, or half off your Brazilian which is only $45 to begin with. The girl at the front was so sweet and Diana was so professional and gave a great wax! Absolutely try this place! read more
