The doctor recommended invisalign again to correct a few gaps in my teeth (I had invisalign a few years before but I guess teeth moved?). They quoted me a whopping $6k for invisalign and my teeth are not even that bad. I didnt even pay that much for my original invisalign. Then I decided to settle with invisalign retainers from them- called them several times and emailed them to try to get these. I spoke to the manager and she told me to be patient. Its been 6 months since my cleaning and havent heard back from them. Dont understand how patient I need to be... I transferred my care to another dental office and recieved my retainers within a week.

My husband has also been seeing Dr. Kimura for many years, and at this point he feels like family to us. It's rare to find a dentist you can genuinely trust, but Dr. Kimura is one of those people. He does excellent work, never pushes unnecessary treatment, and truly cares about his patients. Before my appointment, no one reviewed or explained the charges for my deep cleaning. I have dual PPO insurance, and I know deep cleanings are covered, yet I was still charged a significant out-of-pocket amount. I was never informed that a laser would be used, nor that it would be an additional charge per quadrant. I assumed it was part of the standard procedure. This was never discussed or consented to prior to treatment. Even more concerning, my son and I were separated and taken to different rooms, and they proceeded to do multiple fillings on my son without ever informing me how many were needed or asking for my consent. No one came to explain the treatment plan before starting, during my own procedure, or afterward. As a parent, this is completely unacceptable. At no point was I given a clear treatment plan or cost breakdown for either of us. Despite having dual insurance coverage, I was still charged $621 out of pocket. When I asked for an itemized receipt, I was told they could not provide one, which is a huge red flag. This office feels extremely money-driven, with poor communication and questionable consent practices. I truly regret not paying closer attention to the reviews before booking here. Transparency, consent, and trust are critical in healthcare--and this office failed on all three. Please avoid this place and protect yourself and your family.

I have never left a negative review before and always give places the benefit of the doubt and even…read moreinitially gave this place five stars the first time I came but I have been immensely frustrated by the people who work the front desk/reception at Fuller Smiles Santa Monica. I developed an extremely painful, very swollen, pus-filled dental abscess late last month, and called Fuller Smiles to see if they could have me come in that day to have it get evaluated or drained. I was told by the receptionist that no one could see me same day, and since it was a Friday I could check back on Monday. The abscess was swollen and painful and if left untreated can cause more infection, loss of the tooth, and sepsis, and I pointedly asked the receptionist so I can't be seen even if it's an abscess and a dental emergency? To which the receptionist replied no and asked me to check back three days later when they're open again on Monday. Of course, I found a different facility and got it drained that day and was confirmed by the other dentist of the abscess. I then went back to this Fuller Smiles a few days later to get it evaluated by Dr. Katie, my usual dentist, and she did a CT scan for me and referred me to an endodontist. I called the receptionist at Fuller Smiles today and asked if the results of my CT scan could be sent to the endodontist or to myself to show the endodontist so they could get a complete picture of what's going on. The receptionist then tried to tell me I didn't get a CT scan done, when I know I did because I was literally in the machine getting it done a few weeks ago. I then told her the date of the test and she found the record but then told me she couldn't send it over to me because of software issues, even though it is my legal right to get a copy of my imaging tests. I asked her how the endodontist would be able to evaluate me then without having my test results and she basically told me to get another repeat CT scan done there, without any regard to any unnecessary radiation exposure that would mean or if insurance would cover it. Overall I thought the dentists here were great, but Jackie at the front desk was very unsympathetic and unhelpful, and I am considering taking my business elsewhere just so I don't have to deal with her anymore.
