Unacceptable behavior from the manager at Diane's Natural Market. I'm writing to report a disturbing experience with a Sunday Feb. 8, manager. Despite answering her questions about my service dog, she repeatedly confronted me, got in my face, and yelled about my 10 lb service animal. As someone with PTSD this triggered an anxiety attack. Her behavior was unacceptable and discriminatory. I urge you to address this manager's actions and provide your staff training on service animal polices. Sadly, we will not be shopping here again. read more

Great food selection when it comes to health conscious options and certain things that you can't find anywhere else, especially in a small town like Saint Augustine. Cafe menu looks to be tasty but haven't had a chance to try as everytime I've gone to the market it's closed or employees behind the counter look unenthusiastic to see or help a customer, plus there's no menu posted on the walls for easy viewing. As per the couple of times I've gone in to shop I noticed I've recieved some following from store employees looking over my shoulder in isles, as a student from the local college I can understand being careful but it comes to a point of obnoxiousness and poor customer service. I've also noticed they carry some products that are sold at the Winn Dixie across the street where the price so happens to be significantly cheaper so keep that in mind. read more

It's hit or miss with customer service as to whether they are nice or not but the main problem is that their hours are until six or seven at night, but the juice bar closes in the middle of the day on the days it's actually open. It's pretty wild for St Augustine that this appears to be the only health food store. I'm aware of and almost like monopoly. I would recommend going to Jacksonville instead. I wanted to update my review on 10/7/23. I received a response to the email that I sent to the store owner, and was refunded the amount I spent on the expired meat. Which was fair and just. However, I will no longer shop at Diane's since it has been made aware to me that the meat they sell is not expired (in my mind it is) since they freeze it by the expiration date. read more

We love the fact that the cafe serves organic items. Yes, it's expensive but so is organic, quality food. You can get all the items they sell in the store on Amazon cheaper but you can't beat knowing the vitamins and supplements are authentic and can be picked up the same day. My mom LOVES this place, but I just cannot get on board with the experience I had yesterday- I stopped in with a friend to grab lunch. They used to have a small self-serve to get a glass of water with your meal. They have since removed it and will not give you water (which is free?????), they want you to buy a bottle. I paid $12 for a sandwich, and they can't provide a cup of water?? My friend and I both were appalled as this is our go-to place for a quick meal. Can this place not afford to provide free water?? The prices are already pretty high, it's very insulting not to be able to have a drink with our meal. I asked for a cup of water, and the lady "made an exception" and said she would only be able to provide a small cup (see ridiculous photo attached) PLEASE CHANGE THIS!!! It's not okay!!!! read more

The customer service was non-existent. There were two attendance behind the smoothie bar washing equipment one never even looked up. I asked for a cup of ice to use with the lemon water that they offer and they have no ice although she looked at the Freezer and then looked back at me. It's hard to believe that a place that has a café and a smoothie bar does not have ice to put in water. The attendant was short and dismissive with me. Very nice selection and ambience. Service was uninspiring. Prices are high. Return policy and lack of employee empowerment to accept returns is the dealbreaker. I purchased about $130 of various items. One bag of rice smelled rancid and the manager said he did not have the authority to process a return. Absurd! read more

This is maybe my favorite co-op of all time (and lawdy I've been to many). The deals on CBD and other supplements were the best I'd ever seen (they were on the table right when you walk in) and the store was so clean.   HUGE assortment of of products in the supplement section and perfectly organized.  The older ladies working the cashier department were such kind, beautiful souls too, and even the Gen Z's working at the deli were super nice (so rare nowadays). A group of friends and I had been wanting to visit this market for a while, but we should have just went to target instead. Do not go here!!! This place has horrible customer service! To be specific, the worker Susan followed my friends and I around the store and tried to disguise her following by asking "if we needed help with anything" MULTIPLE times. She was also very rude. This is not a welcoming atmosphere. And it's actually sad that they have someone like this working in their store. If you don't like people, then maybe you shouldn't work at a market. I certainly agree that their prices are high but as we travel around the country and usually do our grocery shopping at Walmarts and other large chains, sometimes I just want a small store with different healthy options. I was disappointed to not find a veggie burger in the refrigerator section (we don't have a freezer) but we did pick up some organic baby red butter lettuce that I generally don't find in other stores. I had lunch in their cafe and enjoyed a peanut butter cup smoothie and the sandwich of the day (tempeh, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and onion on choice of bread) and both were very good. The veggie chips needed more salt. One concern: The smoothie was served in a plastic cup with plastic straw that advertised they were compostable but items can only be composted if there is a place to put them and I did not see a bin for that. The store and cafe were very clean and well lit, making the environment inviting. read more

Today I visited Diane's natural food shop, and being a vegan for more than 30 years the shop has a great selection of items that are not only nutritious, organic, and animal free. This is the second time that I visited the shop and this trip, the selection of produce, as well as probiotic, starter kits, is unrivaled anywhere in an in-person shopping experience. However the customer service experience requires quite a bit of work in my opinion. This is the second time that I had to wait a long time before I could be checked out. I literally stood in line for 15 minutes before another sales representative presented themselves to help with checking out customers. I saw two individuals just walk by while I was waiting and did not return until there were approximately six more customers and then all of a sudden two custom associates made themselves available to check out the additional customers. Maybe have a lane for checkout if you don't have enough people working this register. In my humble opinion, considering the great cost of the items in the shop of which I spent over $290 just for bag full of things I think that this customer service rendered, does not seem to be aligned with the cost of the items. I get it, some customers are maybe not welcome? Or our patronage is not desired. If that is the case, why not just hang a sign outside the door specific to customers that you do not want to shop in your store?? read more

This is the worst natural market I have been to and I am a fanatic of natural markets. Let me start off with the positives. The store is clean and organized with a decent selection. That's all for the positives. Negatives: Service - TERRIBLE! The employees are not friendly and not very helpful. One of them is an old lady who probably thinks she does a good job when, in reality, she has an awfully off-putting attitude. Also, if you would like to sample the outrageously priced grains and nuts, be prepared to deal with what I would call fascist-like policing. Prices - The prices are too high and, quite frankly, pretentious. Whole Foods is fair, but this place is bonkers. HERE IS MY POINT... go to Whole Foods even if you have to drive an additional 20 minutes. It is well worth the better service, broader selection and more competitive pricing. read more

I love shopping at Diane's when visiting my family in St Augustine. The store is clean and well organized. The usually have a cafe but due to COVID it is temporarily closed. I appreciate they don't have a mask requirement, as shopping with a mask is difficult for me due to a health condition. They also have extremely friendly cashiers! Highly recommend! read more

Ok, so I was very upset in my last review, clearly. I've continued to shop here because I do need things they have and I've gotta give credit where credit is due, their prices have dropped slightly, their customer service has also improved. There's one older lady in the supplements that can be very snippy but if you give it back she shapes up. I've lost my raw milk connect and I can always count on them every Fri to have a full stock. I love Diane's. All organic produce, all organic juice bar. This is rare, and the community is lucky to have it. Wonderful Wainright raw milk, cheeses, kefir. Great selection of gluten free crackers and breads. Great selection of health foods and supplements, with great customer service. Seniors receive a discount on non produce items. Clean and organized- it appears Diane's has everything one would look for in a natural grocery. I finally found jars of organic almond butter, albeit raw. If you're looking for roasted, you'll have to settle for "all natural." Be prepared to pay at least $7 over the standard pricing you'll find at home- St Augustine IS a tourist destination. Woodstock Farm's organic dark chocolate almonds are deliciously dark, and under $15/lb! p.s. Told sis that Kind fruit/nut bars are good and only 60c over standard pricing, so she decided to buy a couple (one to give, one to try). There's no place better to shop in St. Augustine if you're looking for natural or organic foods. Superb selection of products to take home, but they also have a nice area serving up smoothies, drinks, and sandwiches made from organic fruits, veggies, etc... The entire store is organized by product- they have a HUGE selection of vitamins and herbal supplements. Great dairy selection with a wide choice of cheeses and milks, cereal selection, potato chips and snacks, and my favorite- the juices and sodas. Amazing selection in all areas at pretty cheap prices for organic foods. Now granted, if you shop here, you're going to pay more than you would at Publix, and everyone knows organic foods cost more than the regular- but I challenge you to eat organic foods and tell me it doesn't taste way better, plus keep the pesticides out of your body. I'm not saying that as an organic food snob who thinks he's better than everyone else, it's just a simple fact. Personally, I don't shop here a lot, but I do like to stop in every once in a while and pick up a few different items. Cheap prices for organic foods, great selection, friendly employees, and great tasting natural foods. Overall a fine store and the best in town for the natural and organic groceries. read more

We just moved to the area from New Jersey, and we are so grateful for Diane's. We love their variety of organic foods. And that it is so easy to get a quick and nutritious organic meal or juice. We especially love their organic chicken salad. While the selection of healthy food is great, it is their employees that make it even more special. People giving Diane's low ratings and beating them up for their prices have probably never operated a local business before. To criticize Diane's for high prices when they charge suggested retail price or less for the products they sell (which they are happy to tell you, if you simply ask) and comparing their prices to national chains is unfair. The commitment Diane's has shown our community by building this great new store and continuing their support of our local schools and charities should be appreciated and supported in return. I'm glad to have a local health food store here in town and not have to drive to Jacksonville. Their friendly staff, good service and brand new store make for an enjoyable shopping experience. read more

I know they are just settling into this location, but I feel like they shouldn't open the doors until the shelves are stocked. The place gleamed because it is so new. The freezer and canned items seemed to be well stocked, but the produce was lacking. Some shelves were very sparse. It just didn't look like an appealing place to shop. The bulk dry goods were difficult to purchase because there was no way to label them. We had to bag everything in clear plastic and secure with a twist tie. There were no code numbers or a place to write them. We had to remember everything and let the cashier know what was in each bag. This was challenging since many of the chocolate items looked similar. I will return after they have everything in order. Until then, I'll do my shopping elsewhere. read more

I called ahead for directions, was told emphatically that they had not been on the corner of 207 and US1 in 2 years. I arrived to find that they are on the corner of Ponce De Leon (US1) and 207. I'm new in Saint Augustine, so I was unaware that they have a senior discount, 65+, which you must mention before checkout (I read the sign as my elderly mother was checking out), I said, "Oh! They have a senior discount!" The cashier said coldly, "You have to ask for it before I ring your order." My sweet mother innocently added that she was definitely over 65. The cashier repeated that it was policy to ask beforehand (with zero politeness or apology). I explained that it was our first visit. She held her ground. So, I requested that she cancel the order and start over. A moment after that, I was at the end of the checkout, where the bag could be dropped/ slid down to me, my mother was still next to the cashier, with the cart between us. I asked the cashier to give me the bag to carry for my mother. She looked me coldly in the eye and held fast. At that point an older female employee walked up behind her, heard my request, and quickly picked up the bag, walked around the counter and handed it to me. Very polite and kind... My mother and I walked to our car, which was parked directly in front of the register we checked out at. The cashier then told the older employee about the checkout discount while motioning toward me and looking directly at me. The older employee then looked directly at me, gesturing emphatically her disapproval. I read their reviews before taking my mother there. I am extremely disappointed in my first experience. My 83 year old mother is a natural food lover. She is gluten, sugar, and dairy free. I am determined to shop here again. I am very willing to change my opinion with a different experience.
