This review would easily be 1 star if it wasn't for Sammi (sp?) in the bike dept. This girl…read moredeserves 5 stars alone for excellent customer service and the following reasons: 1. Her enthusiastic and friendly demeanor 2. Her extensive knowledge about bikes and the fact she shared this with me willingly & effortlessly. 3. As soon as I approached her, she stopped what she was doing and listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions and immediately made me a priority. I can't tell you how relieved I was to run into Sammi after my experience here the day before. I was sure the outcome of my return visit would be the same. Over the course of the summer, I've stopped at this store numerous times to look into replacing my bike and try some out but the problem was they didn't have many put together. So, I came back again and again in the hopes they would have a better selection of the type I was looking for. Yes, I went to other locations also and ran into the same issue. On virtually every visit, there was no one around. I had to go to another dept., find someone and was told either no one was available or left for the day and the associate who was available had no knowledge of bikes. Way to waste my time.. I came back on Labor day and again there was no one around. Found a young guy who very dismissively tells me "I know nothing about bikes and the guy that was here left for the day and we're understaffed, so you might want to go to Woodfield or Oakbrook." Really?? This kid could care less about helping customers and his attitude royally sucked. I ended up spotting 2 bikes, took them down and got a feel for it. The one bike I tried had handlebars that were completely off center. At this point, I decided to order the bike online. It was the right bike at the right price. Came back to pick up my bike a few days later and Sammi was in the bike dept. Boy was I happy to see her! She assured me she inspects all bikes that go out and noticed the handlebar issue on the one I was interested in. It was fixed. This girl is a keeper. I hope your reading this Dick's because unlike the associates I have run into at your store, this was the ONLY girl who truly helped me with my purchase. She takes pride in her job and it shows. Your team could learn a few things from her. I can honestly say I despise each Dick's location I've been to and have had nothing but horrible (or no) customer service. I feel like there's a monopoly on big chain sporting goods stores. There just aren't many around anymore. Sure I could go to Trek, but I'm not worthy of $1k+ bike just yet...Local bike shops are great, but also more than I wanted to spend. Bottom line - if you're looking for a bike, come here when Sammi is working or don't come here at all.

I had a terrible and honestly humiliating experience at the Ross in Bloomingdale, IL on April 21,…read more2026 around 10:00 PM. I was standing in line waiting to check out, minding my own business with headphones on while one register was open and the customer ahead of me had a large purchase. Out of nowhere, an employee from across the store started yelling in my direction. At first I couldn't hear because of my earbuds, but when I took one out, I heard them yelling at me to "look in another f******* direction" and accusing me of staring at them. That accusation was completely false. I was not looking at this employee at all. I was simply waiting my turn. The way this was handled, loudly and publicly, was incredibly unprofessional and embarrassing. Other customers and the cashier started looking at me like I had done something wrong, which made the situation even worse. Based on how quickly I was singled out and accused without any interaction, I genuinely feel I was negatively stereotyped based on my appearance. There was no justification for that kind of assumption or treatment. I ended up putting my items down and leaving the store because of how uncomfortable and embarrassed I felt. I've shopped at Ross many times and have never experienced anything like this. This was unacceptable behavior from staff. Customers should not be publicly yelled at, accused, or made to feel like they've done something wrong when they haven't. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the conduct of their employees.

We go to check out and the pants were the only clearance item we had. They ring up full price, which no big deal, it happens. The associate studies the pants! Checking the DPCI to make sure it matches. Ok, that's fine. She then proceeds to call over a total of 3 people over a 5 minute period while they all study the tag. We say it's fine, if there is an issue we won't buy them. The manager comes and says no, we can't sell you these for the price the tag has on it, I will sell them to you for $24. Huh? So I can't pay what the price tag says? She says it's wrong. I informed her there is a shelf full of them with the same price and asked did the DPCI match? She didn't even know what a DPCI was... the associate confirms the match. She then says they have had a lot of theft by the associates (nothing to do with me) who tag things wrong for their friends. I laugh and say look at our cart and receipt, nothing was clearance but the pants and if that was my plan I would want something of real value! Not pants. She says she isn't accusing us. I check out and say it's ok, we will buy what we have. She walks away to check our story and after she sees there is a whole shelf of pants with the same price she pushes us to buy the pants. Offers us free Starbucks for the trouble. We decline. She keeps talking practically begging us to buy the pants. My husband buys 1 pair because we are simply ready to leave at this point and she lets it be. I don't think it's appropriate to make a staffing issue with theft, the customers issue. Especially when it's something as cheap as pants. I would think they would do multiple items and items of value! If Target has this issue, they should track and manage it internally, not harass/ slightly accuse the customers.

If you notice the vehicles in the parking lot you'll see the customer base they now need to serve. What was once a bright, clean, orderly store with exciting products is now disheveled with products heaped in carts, pallets on the floor with worthless products like it's a warehouse (who wants a 1 oz container of cotton candy for $3.00 and display it on a pallet like it's a great display? This store is always out of popular items as they try and force you into purchasing other products. Like, who wants Target brand food? There's a reason why the stock is down $50.00 for the year or 38%. Corporate decision makers are asleep at the wheel, buyers are not paying attention to product selection, and local management for this store are just bodies with no added value or skill. The average spend of a Target customer is $49.00 per visit and an average of just 21 visits per year. Thats just barely over the $1,000.00 so it becomes obvious as to why the product selection has fallen off a cliff. This location reminds of K-Mart before their demise.
