I don't know what happened to this place but it's gone downhill. It used to be one of my favorite places to eat but now I doubt I'll ever go back. Tons of free parking, generous portions, moist and flavorful meat. But wow this place is slow. By the time I got my food I had literally been there for 45 minutes. No joke. The people were perfectly pleasant and it was clear to me that they were going at their absolute fastest. No lengthy chit chat, no wasted motions. They just haven't gotten it streamlined yet. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which came with 2 sides. I got mac and cheese and waffles fries. Ooh the waffle fries were good. Flavorful with just the right amount of crispyness and still so hot! The mac and cheese seemed a little watery. Definitely not a bad flavor, but not that buh bam buttery cheesiness you expect from a southern bbq place at ALL. We make better mac and cheese at home, unfortunately. The chicken itself was very moist, and just the right amount of seasoning. It was a little bit too much bread for me, so I just took off the top bun. Daughter 1 had a 1 meat platter with mac and cheese and baked potato casserole. Ok, before you get excited about a baked potato casserole, let me just say it tastes like mashed up potato salad, complete with relish. And it is cold. It didn't taste bad, but it was very unexpected. Her brisket was moist but a bit undersalted. Daughter 2 ordered 3 chicken tacos and a side of mac and cheese. The tacos were nothing to write home about in that it was comprised of bbq chicken (so moist!) sliced cheddar, and street taco sized flour tortillas. It isn't a Mexican place, so don't expect all the accoutrements that go with a taco. But you CAN expect some darn good meat! It's very small inside - seats maybe 20 inside, and 4 tables of 4-8 outside. For the 3 of us it was in the area of $38. Not bad price wise. Hawaii has its first Dickey's; yay! But... An insult to real Texas BBQ. A perfect example of how a fast food chain restaurant strives to achieve consistency and satisfy the masses. Note: I try to eat all natural foods without any chemical additives or preservatives. Having eaten this way for the past four years, I can easily taste when chemicals are added to food. Positives: friendly counter service, inexpensive (sub $16 for the largest combo). Negatives: the food isn't good. Loaded with chemicals (ie phosphates and MSG probably in the form of yeast extract) and taste processed. Best to worst: --Pulled pork - very moist on a butter substitute oiled bun. No smoke flavor but a decent pork sammie. --Brisket - no bark or smoke ring, unexpectedly dry despite the slicer rolling it around in the sausage fat on the cutting board. Very mild smoke flavor. --Pork ribs - no bark but a smoke ring is evident but little to no smoke flavor. Definite use of chemicals in the brine. It taste oddly like the McRib "meat". --Jalapeño cheddar kielbasa - extremely oily and fatty. No snap, "cheese" that stays liquid at room temp, not spicy. Chemical preservatives obvious. Sides: --Cole slaw - machine cut, over soaked, soggy and vinegary, KFC quality. --Potato salad - odd yellow color, mushy potatoes. --Sweet roll - rolled in butter substitute and lightly toasted. Loaded with chemicals. Gummy. Tasting exactly like the "bake at home" stuff you pop open from a cardboard tube. I don't know BBQ but I do know what I like. My favorites are the Polish Kielbasa Sausage, Baked Potato Casserole, and Potato Salad. The Baked Potato Casserole has cheddar cheese, bacon and green onions mixed into it making for a great taste. The Potato Salad was dill in it so just be warned, some people hate it but I love it. Honestly I would skip the plates and order by the pound, it does seem like you get more that way. Also if you like the dinner rolls and get the more expensive meats the family pack is a great deal too. [TOILET] They have separate men & women restrooms both with one toilet each while the men's also has a wall urinal. But the whole point about posting about this is that it's been clean during the times that we have come which is a feat in itself considering how packed the restaurant can get. Also love that they have handicap railings. [PARKING] Lots of parking which is especially important because of the amount of restaurants next door. Location/Parking: The restaurant is located across from Walmart in Kapolei at the newly built shopping center. There is a lot of parking in the shopping center. Wait Times: The restaurant just opened a few days ago so the wait time was long at 30-45 minutes. I would recommend ordering by phone so you won't have to wait in line. Check in with the cashier that you had a phone order. Food/Drinks: I ordered a 1 meat plate with brisket and 2 sides (creamed spinach and cabbage slaw). It also comes with a roll. Brisket was moist and tender. I received a total of six reasonable size brisket and it was a combination of pieces from slightly fatty to the end pieces. The roll was good. Creamed spinach was creamy and cabbage slaw was not too vinegary and it didn't have a ton of mayonnaise. I wish the portions for the sides were a little more. I had the sweet tea and it could be sweeter. There are condiments like pickles, onions and 3 different flavor bbq sauces near the door. Price: The 1 meat plate cost $11.25 which is a great price. A drink cost $2 and they do have the fun fountain dispenser where you can add vanilla and other flavors to your soda. Customer Service: Great customer service even for the first couple days of opening. They apologize for our other order for taking a while. I finally had the opportunity to eat food from Dickey's. I have been wanting to go here since they opened, and have heard very good things about their food, but the complaint was always about the prices. This style of BBQ, which is the slow roasted and smoked, does take time to prepare and the process takes a little longer. We had a spread catered which consisted of smoked brisket, chicken, pulled pork, baked beans, mashed potatoes, Mac n Cheese, corn bread, pickles and onions. The second week that Dickey's opened, I waited 1.5 hours in line on a Thursday night from start to finish. The wait time has gotten a lot better, about 45 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. There's ample parking & some seating both inside& outside of the restaurant. Seating fills up quick though. There are a few ways you can order your meal & the menu board overhead makes it easy. Our first time, we ordered the two choices of meat meal but found that buying meat by the lb, you get more meat for your buck. The meat choice meals have smaller portions. What we enjoyed: brisket brisket brisket, pulled pork (in the form of a slider with coleslaw) and I adore the jalapeño cheddar sausage. The pork ribs were a little dry for my liking. Favorite sides: Mac & cheese, bbq baked beans & coleslaw. The fried okra is good if you like okra. There's a fancy touch screen coke drink machine & sauce / utensils station to the right side of the restaurant. I love the spicy bbq sauce! Per Yelper Priscilla V, if you bring back your big yellow cup, it'll cost $1 instead of $2.50. The cups are pretty durable so why not? (Yes I forgot my cup when we returned) I saw that they also have catering packages so if you have a special event going on, it's something to consider. I know I will. For 20$$$ Second the chili mac is terrible, like uneatable bad. Brisket was meh, overcooked l Wife got a sandwich, and it was really good. Potato salad was also really good. Hold your horses! Put your phone on tickle! We have Texas BBQ in Hawaii!!! Dickey's is the largest BBQ franchise in the nation!! It's not 3 generations of pit masters smoking the meat, BUT I will take it! It's not like we got much options here in Hawaii, let alone the west side! So YAY!!!! Thank you to the local family who decided to open the franchise here! I am a BIG Texas BBQ fan. As in going to Texas from San Antonio to Austin eating as many Great BBQ spots as I can. Knowing this is a franchise, I had to put myself on check and make sure I don't compare this place to the greats! After all, we are in Hawaii. NOT Texas. Notes: My review is 4.5, but it rounds to 5 stars! Dickey's is not even a month old and the lines are out the door. Be prepared to wait. It wasn't too bad though, it was like a 15 min wait when we went. Parking is free!! They have loads of parking. Ambience: It is casual and makes you feel like you are at a backyard bbq. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Customer Service: for having long lines out the door, the staff were great! When we finally reached the counter, we were greeted and asked what we wanted. The owner was actually at the counter slicing the meats!! He was one of the hardest workers on the counter. The team effort was awesome! Anyway, once we chose our meats, another staff member got our sides. In less than a few minutes, we had out lunch and paying for our meal! It's pretty fast once you get to the counter. Price: the price was decent! It wasn't too pricey, especially for the amount of food we were getting. The Picnic pack was a great deal for our family of four. We also got a free kids meal! Sundays, kids eat free!! Food: the bbq was pretty good! The pulled pork was juicy. I didn't taste a lot of smoke flavor on the pork, but it was still decent. The brisket was a nice pink, tender and soft. It had a lot of smoke flavor.The pork ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. It was a little dry on some rib sides, but still tasted ok. It was, as expected, good bbq, for a good price. It wasn't "3 generational pitmaster" good, but great enough to be a decent place for Texas BBQ here in Hawaii. Which is probably the same as eating at Dickey's anywhere else. My family LOVED everything. Overall, it wasn't bad at all. A few kinks, but I can't hold that against them. They had a conditional pass rating, which was for minor things such as temperature(A/C is out) and food handling(gloves). As I observed, they already fixed these things. They haven't been open even for a week. The wait wasn't too crazy. I LOVED that everyone in line were praising the staff for their hard work. Anyways, The bbq was affordable and tasty. Wow. I remember when this place first open a few years back, food wasn't great but I just assumed it's because they are new and trying to work out the timing of the food and such. Well, here we are several years later; it's not the timing, it's the food AND price/portions. I paid $26.68 for a "3 meat plate" which consisted of "two (2) baby back ribs, three (3) pieces of brisket and five (5) slices of chicken breast. The first thing I noticed was everything they cut came out of a plastic bag? I get that this place isn't really a "bbq joint" but didn't expect to see food wrapped in plastic wrap. Everything was room temperature, definitely not "hot". The portions are REALLY small for the amount they charge. The brisket was way to soft, almost no texture. You can press it through your fingers almost like dough. The ribs are also way to soft, no "chew" at all. If you like fall of the bone, these ribs are for you. Also, they lack in any kind of flavor or seasoning. The chicken breast has no flavor at all. You know it's chicken breast because that's what they tell you it is. Everything definitely need to be completely slathered in sauce to make it known that you were eating bbq. The baked beans also lack in flavor other than being really sweet. They didn't seem to be cooked long enough either. The coleslaw was the star of the show along with the sweet tea. Was really disappointed with the food (quality and taste) portion and prices. All in all, not a place I'll be returning too ever again. I'm glad to see they survived the pandemic, but no reason for me to suggest to anyone looking for BBQ. Dickey's Barbecue Pit has finally open here in Oahu! Yummy delicious juicy sorts of meats are served here at the pit. Location: Located right across the Kapolei Wal-Mart. They're right by the highway and have a big yellow sign across Panda Express. You can't missed it! Lots of parking around the area with many other shops around the same complex. Food: All kinds of meats you can try out - pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken breast, polish kielbasa sausage, jalapeno cheddar kielbasa, turkey and pork ribs. They have meat plates that you can choose from 1-3 choices per plate, extra toppers (cheese, jalapeno's, cabbage slaw). Sliders- which comes with their yummy soft bread with a choice of meat, their Classic Sandwich w/ choice of meat, and Westerner which is 2 choices of meat & cheese "texas sized". They also have stacks & taco which has mix with meat and cheese taco's. The Sides are variety of many - my favorite is mac&cheese, creamed spinach and waffle fries. I have yet to try their fried okra. I heard alot of good things about that side! They have a side bar where they have sauces you can grab for your meats. Don't forget to take some! Service: Worker's are always smiling and greeting you as you are getting closer to the pit. Very friendly service and easy to take orders. They have a good system as you are getting your food and choices. The owner's Danny and Joan comes around the store to greet customers to see how they are doing and how the food is going. Tips: DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR BIG YELLOW CUP. The next time you come back to Dickey's, present your yellow cup and the cashier will charge you $1 instead of $2.50 with unlimited refills each time you come back! What a deal! Went for a quick dinner at the Kapolei location. Bought the 3 meat plate at $22.49. Got chicken breast, ribs and wings. Kinda pricey for the amount of food! 1 dry chicken breast, 2 pieces of plain ribs(not fall off the bones) and coleslaw and a scoop of rice! Should be 2 scoops of rice at least. Coleslaw tastes good! Kinda like fresh KFC slaw. Went home and opened up my $22.49 plate plus $4 tip plate and realize I didn't get my wings. I called and the apologized and said I could come back, and they would give me more wings. Drove all the way back and went in the restaurant. And the girl knew who I was and went straight to the fryer and pack my wings and gave me an extra slaw for the inconvenience. I said thank you! Got home and open the wings up to my dismay. I've been here before and also been to the ones in the mainland a handful of times. Its something different other than plate lunches here in hawaii. Today we got the brisket chopped and ribs with fried okra and waffle cut fries. Also sliced brisket and polish sausage with baked potato casserole and onion tanglers. Brisket wasnt popping with flavor and I prefer smoked bbq with a good amount of smoke. You wouldn't know if it was actually smoked or just thrown in the oven. Brisket was also little greasy but in order to keep it moist. Sausage was good plenty of flavor light spice kick to it, oily as well though. Side were all great about everytime here and in the mainland I've gotten the baked potato casserole (mashed potatoes with little cheese bacon and sour cream?). I asked for a medium cup of ice water and they were going to charge me 3 bucks so I got a small water that they had no lid for. I went on the Grand opening for lunch and was amazed at how organized the workers were. Yes we had to wait for awhile BUT in their defense most of us had a hard time choosing or orders. When I first walked in I was in awe, the decor was spot on and I love the chalkboard menu. Yes there is a set menu per se but prices vary and there were a few things put on the menu that is not on the nation wide menu. Which leads me to say even if this place was part of a restaurant chain my expectations we not super high but my lunch time was so delightful because of the food, ambience, professional service and managers making sure everyone was happy. My intentions was to order a 1 meat plate with the 2 sides and a roll. When I had to order I got another meat and had a hard time choosing the sides I wanted. So my plate consisted of smoked brisket, smoked turkey breast, barbecue baked beans, coleslaw and a drink using their yellow Dickey cup. The food came on metal tray and brown parchment paper all I can say FOOD won I couldn't finish it all. Now don't get me wrong the meat was so soft it melted in your mouth and the amount was plentiful. It was worth every bite and the bonus I had leftovers for another meal. I stopped by for lunch after hearing about this place through friends. It's located in a small strip mall across the Kapolei Walmart. Parking area is small which is shared with other mall businesses. The restaurant itself is small. There's room for maybe about 25 people. You order your food from the counter and seat yourself. I ordered the 2 meat platter twice. One with bbq ribs and pulled pork. The other with bbq ribs and beef brisket. It comes with 2 sides and a roll/ cornbread. The ribs were ok. Not fall off the bone but decent. The brisket was a little dry. The pulled pork was tasty. You can get extra sweet, spicy, or regular bbq sauce. For drinks, you should get the reusable big yellow cup which can be brought back for a discount on your next visit. They have a great variety of sides which come in good sized portions. My favorites are the waffle fries or the onion tanglers. Overall a good bbq place. Hubby, daughter and myself came here for lunch. I was actually impressed at the beef brisket tasting so good. The ones on the mainland just taste horrible and dry. I looked at the menu upon entering. I decided to get a one item which was the beef brisket and my two sides were Mac and cheese and potato salad. I also got the Texas toast. The toast was so buttery and had a slight crisp to it. So good! The beef brisket was soft and I got the sweet sauce to pour over the brisket. The potato salad was delicious and tasted great. Mac and cheese was good too. Perfect amount of cheesy flavor. To drink I got the orange flavored vitamin water. So refreshing. The food was delicious. No table service as you sit down, eat and then take your tray up to the back on top of the trash. There's a trash can for your trash. There were only so many tables inside so luckily people left as we needed to find a table. There's parking right up front. I would definitely come back for more. Per recommendation from a friend of a friend, Texas style cooking. 2 employees were helping us decide what to get on our 1st visit. I was so excited to get some bar be que! It was my first dine in back from quarantine.. When we got here. We were kind of lost and just walked straight to the register. We didn't realize we had to go through the left side. When we got back on the path, there were lines to for social distancing and everyone was wearing masks except the people dining in. I ordered a 2 meat plate; I got the pulled pork and ribs, my sides were green beans and cabbage slaw, along with a dinner roll. Put in the order waited to pay and got our orders. It was nice that there were outdoor seating so we sat outside to eat. When we opened everything, it looked skimpy. Meats were all dry. My friend's chicken was super dry to the point where it was flaky like dry skin. The green beans tasted like canned beans and the cabbage slaw had a weird sour taste to it. The food is good, the wait is bad. We went about 7pm on a Sunday night. They ran out of brisket - they posted a sign on the door while we were in line but didn't make an effort to tell those of us waiting about that. I just happened to look back and notice it. The wait was slow, like many other reviews have mentioned - the line was backed up to the door and took about 20 minutes, maybe more, to get our food. A lot of people were getting takeaway, though, so the dining area wasn't super crowded. The line was gone by 8pm. I had the 1-item plate with jalapeno cheddar sausage, fried okra, and green beans. The mister had 1-item plate with sliced chicken, mac & cheese, and green beans. The smallfry had pulled pork and mac & cheese. We all upgraded to a corn muffin for 50 cents each. Since kids eat free on Sunday (dine-in only, with a $10 grownup purchase), our three meals cost under $30. First, the sides. The okra was freshly fried and therefore lava-hot. Normally it's the first thing I eat, but I had to wait until I had finished everything else and it was still hot-hot even at the end of my meal. The green beans were good, but very black-peppery (a good thing for me, at least, but I know the kiddo wouldn't have liked it). The macaroni and cheese I tasted from my son's plate (hey, he's gotta learn to share, right?) was not super-flavorful, but he sure loved it. Very generous portion of pork on the keiki plate, and it tasted good plain (I didn't actually try any of the sauces). Mister S. said he would not get the chicken again. The jalapeno cheddar kielbasa was great - good and spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Good portion and sliced into pieces - unfortunately not all the way through the casing, so I wound up dropping several pieces on my clothes because they were attached to the piece I poked with my fork. I would definitely go with the corn muffin upgrade again in the future. Drinks are from the fancy Coke machines with all the options. They ran out of ice in the machine but had a bucket nearby with a scoop. There's a little closet-shaped room near the door with what looks to be the beginnings of beer taps, so maybe a liquor license is coming? I would come back again, especially for the kids deal on Sundays. But I would probably come a little earlier in the day. On any other day, I would definitely order online for pickup. One other quirk, the parking right in front of the door is mostly handicapped stalls and has no exit, just the outflow from the Panda Express drive-through - so it's an awkward back-up to get out of there. While it's not Texas BBQ that I grew up with it will definitely kill the craving while on island! I will say the fried okra is always delicious! Meat is always juicy and has a good smoky flavor! Couple problems with this visit though. First problem our bread selection was inaccurate. Secondly we ordered a three meat plate with all sliced brisket, the meat is weighed and your serving is portioned accordingly, 1/4 of the "meat" was actually fat trimmings, not meat with fat attached, straight fat trimmings. This review is about the service. Being Mothers Day you expect eateries to be busy. So my wife placed a takeout order over the phone while I was in Walmart. When I met at the car she said that she had placed the order and the person said that it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I went in they had two lines. One for pickups and one for walkins. I was third in the pickup line. And an Uber Eats guy waiting for his pickup order. To make conversation while waiting I asked How long he was waiting. He said 20 plus minutes. After 10 minutes one pick up Customer got their meal. Ok now I'm second. Three customers in the walk in line and order line go their food and left. A few minutes later they called the Uber Eats Guy and he was off. Still number two in the pickup line saw two more walk ins get there food. The older gentleman in back of me mumble something in disgust and left. It's my turn, gave her the order name and said I also wanted a drink. She rang me up for the drink. I took the cup and made my drink. After twenty minutes I ask her about my order she looked at me and said that I didn't pay. I told her that I wanted to speak to a manger. She said that she said she was the manager. I asked I she could compensate for the long wait she said that she couldn't. I tried to explain to her she was the one who took my money for the cup and that she was the one that ask me what name the order was under. Along came a guy so I tried to explain what happened after listening a bit. He turn to the manager and said to give me 10 percent off. I was very disappointed in my order. I placed an online order for a three meat combo with sides and there were only 2 meats and missing side when I got home. I should have read the reviews before ordering. I would have avoided this location. read more

Y'all, this place is NOT OK. The super sticky floor should have been the first clue to turn and leave.. The insanely dirty soda machine area should have been the second, but your girl was getting hangry. We got brisket and pulled pork plates with 2 sides. The fries were old, greasy and there were like 10 total. The coleslaw was literally stringy, the Mac smelled like feet.. They have 3 super young kids running the place. Super nice, but they need a manager to help guide them. We got a refund and went to Panda across the way. Much better! read more

This place is loosing stars from me . I went there Friday about 330. To grab some dinner. I ordered 2lbs Sliced Brisket and 1/2 slab of ribs. When I got home and looked in the 2 Brisket container. Those youngsters put a bunch of scrap in my containers. May be 2 slices . I paid almost 70.00 for scraps. I will not be going to this place ever again. What make it so bad is I was the only one in there. Totally unsat. I was wondering why one of the girl who fixed the containers was laughing.. read more

I've been to Dickey's in Arizona before, so I had high hopes for finally having one down here. I've also tasted bomb BBQ spots while I was at the mainland, but that doesn't make me a professional critique haha. The wait was LONG. Maybe 45 minutes on a typical Saturday night. But that's not why I gave 3 stars. I expected it to be busy, we don't have many BBQ spots here. So my initial thought was "this place must be a big hit" 1 Star: service. There were a handful of kitchen staff in the back, being in line for almost 45 min gave me a chance to observe. I've noticed that about 4 of them were mostly floating around as if they didn't know their roles. And when the main person who was taking our order went on a quick break, NO ONE took over. We were just standing in line waiting for him* to get back. 2 star: food. It was served cold. I was sooo disappointed. It was drying and cold. You needed the sauce, that's self served, to be satisfied with the BBQ. I got the beef brisket. My other half got pork ribs, pulled pork, and the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa. From our choices the kielbasa and the pork ribs were the best. 3 star: overall. I would try it again, but not anytime soon. It is a good BBQ spot. But I had high hopes for this place. OH! My boyfriend ordered dinner from here through bite squad the other night. I had the classic sandwich meal and he ordered the 2 meat plate. This was our first time trying this place. I really like how you can choose 2 sides, and there's a variety of options. We both enjoyed and finished our meal. The only thing was the portion of the meal. Wish they gave more meat, and sides. But that won't stop us from eating there. It was something different and we were satisfied. Tip: Spicy BBQ was real spicy for me so I only used a small amount of the bbq sauce. read more

We were greeted with wrong priced menu items specifically when the 2-piece meat plate is more expensive than the 3-piece meat plate. I pointed it out but it wasn't corrected although another customer walked in after it was made known to them. The meat was probably the worst BBQ meat I've ever eaten. It was colder than room temperature, but the side order beans were hot and probably the best I've had. Usually patrons don't go to a BBQ place for the side orders. I do not recommend the jalapeño cheddar sausage. It tasted old and felt powdery on the palate. Counter lady initially said we couldn't use both Salem discount cards even though we were purchasing our meals separately. I told her that isn't what the printing on the cards stated. Wife is from Texas, and I like to hit the grill every now and then. We have ordered in and had take-away from Dickies a few times. Chicken is tough; turkey is salty. Service is straight up horrible. First time I had the brisket slider. Had a nice smoky look and taste. The three bbq saucers you could choose one or all three. Only one size drink but, if you bring you cup back on your next visit, your drink is only $1. The first brisket was very fatty. The next visit I was going to try the ribs but, they out. So had the brisket again. It was not fatty this time but, it was dry. read more

My friend and I decided to come here after a shoot since we were already on this side of the island. I was excited for some shredded meats, those tender fall apart ones are my fave. I got the classic sandwich with pulled pork and added the slaw, cheese, and jalapeños. The sandwich itself was eh. Meat had a nice smoky flavor, but not super juicy, cheese wasn't melted, and bread to filling ratio was a bit thick. The SIDES however were absolutely stellar. The Mac and cheese is creamy and smooth, without being too runny. I love onion rings and figured these would be pretty close. Super tasty with some of their homemade bbq sauce! read more

If you like BBQ Beef Brisket & Pulled Pork meats, this the place to go. They are located in the new mini strip mall next to Walmart in Kapolei. I tried their Beef Brisket plate ($11+), which came with two sides & a buttered roll (which was slathered with butter). The two sides I chose were their Mac-n-Cheese & BBQ Baked Beans. The Brisket was really moist which was great. I've tried other places where the meat is dry, but not here. It comes with a choice of three BBQ sauces - Original, Sweet, & a Spicy one. Their Mac-n-Cheese was okay, and the BBQ Baked Beans to me seemed like a little sweeter version of pork & beans. But because the BBQ sauce with the brisket had a strong flavor, it did go well with the two sides. You can also help yourself to their sweet pickle chips. On some previous Yelp reviews it was mentioned that for the side dishes, they don't fill up the containers to the brim. On my visit, it was filled to the top; just make sure they fill it up on your visit. The only thing frustrating for me was their small plastic take out containers to put in their BBQ sauces. I was able to snap on the lid when I stuffed it with pickles, but I wasn't able to snap on the lid for the BBQ sauces. I don't know if it was a temperature thing since the sauces were warm & the pickles were cold. All in all, this is a great place for BBQ beef or pork plates. read more

We were fortunate to order a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving from Dickey's ... and we were not disappointed ... we were impressed! The turkey we got was tender and juicy all over, and great flavor! Kudos to the Dickey's Kapolei crew! read more

First time trying this BBQ spot. . . . It's worth the drive to Kapolei, highly recommend. Great flavor and great options with decent prices and happy they offer variety of meats to choose from unlike more BBQ spots only offering pork. The rotisserie chicken and the beef was very tender and full of flavor I didn't recieve or get offered about sauces; unsure if that's an options with an order but I waa recommend offering or having sauces to add for customers to add with their meal. Definitely we be visiting this location again, can't wait. read more

Gave this place another try... This time got my own plate without sharing. I got the double dip brisket sandwich with 2 sides...fried okra & waffle fries. My son got the 1 meat plate of brisket with waffle fries & mac N cheese. I always had be mesmerized to get a piece of brownie cookie. The sandwich was very tasty. It comes with a dipping au jous, which elevates the sandwich. Without it, it's actually quite dry. The sides were pretty good...I've always been a fan of fried okra. My son's brisket was pretty moist, but the spicy bbq sauce took it up a notch on the flavor scale. The mac n cheese pretty cheesy. I honestly got full just eating the sides & half my sandwich. The brownie cookie was okay, nothing to rave about. Overall, 2nd time around is much better. read more

The ribs are amazingly delicious and so tender they almost melt in your mouth. Makes me hungry just thinking about them. I'm going every time I go to Kapolei cuz there's nothing that compares. Enough food for two meals as I had leftovers for the next day. BBQ beans are super good and the coleslaw delish as well. Opt up for the cornbread so good it's like dessert.
