    Mac n' Cheese Corn
    Amanda K.

One of the kids wanted Mac and cheese but they only had Mac and cheese corn or with brisket. We asked if we could get the Mac and cheese without the corn but they said no. The kids still seemed to like it, it's very oily I'm assuming from the cheese. And they also wanted animal fries. Very saucey but good! And my mom and I shared the chicken tacos although it kinda looked like they forgot to put the toppings in one because the other side was closed shut. But the tacos were really good. And I got the li hing lemonade, veryyy tart. My nieces wanted to play at fooseball table. Definitely kept them occupied and they also have kids menus for kids to color on which is really nice.

Two thumbs up so far for their wings. I tried just the plain chicken wings, no sauce or frills because I wanted to taste it without any distractions, and it's pretty darn tasty. I'm definitely returning to try it with their sauces next and maybe some brisket. Absolutely loved the Mac Salad and Cole Slaw! Clean little place with seating on the inside and outdoor patio area. It's the first restaurant that greets you walking into the Pearl Highlands Food Court. Service was great and friendly. The food took a bit to come out so it tells me it's made to order as it wasn't a busy day there.

It was nice to sit outside on the benches but got too windy for our little one so sat indoors. Service was a bit slow but nice ambiance for a low key dinner. Their garlic truffle fries were delicious and call us a hard critic but we just didn't love their brisket. It was a bit dry. Chicken was nice and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside and their bbq sauce was good! I gave it 3 stars though for the slow service and felt the food was a bit overpriced for the portion. We ordered their corn on a Cobb and it was half of a corn for $6 yikes! Also added shrimp to our chicken and brisket dish for additional $5? And it was only 3 pieces of shrimp.

I HAVE to update the review! This place has an insane Burger! Sheesh. I think it's called the Old School or something like that. I added bacon. The Sauce on the burger was very unique and zesty. Service was ok, not too slow..... They have limited space on the inside but the outdoor seating area is very neat. Back to the food. They took their time getting it right. The fries (Animal Fries) were nice and a crispy coming out. This definitely hit the spot. I will never go back to this place for chicken or brisket. The Burger is the real star here. Don't take my word for it. Just try it and see.

Location/Parking: Pearl Highlands Food Court. Left side. Lots of free parking. Service: we stopped in during lunch and found a table right away. Ambiance: Casual Food Court Style. Food: variety of Asian fusion BBQ. Today we shared the YUM chicken and it did not disappoint. Chicken was nice and crispy and Cole slaw was tasty.

Hubs was in the mood for brisket so he ordered lunch from Chicken & Brisket. It was relatively empty so service was quick! The place is in the food court of Pearl Highlands center, so it's no frills and casual. The brisket sandwich and fries were cooked perfectly and hubs said he'd definitely return for more! The fried chicken was crisp and not greasy at all, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped. Definitely pick up sauces on the next visit if I order the classic chicken again.

Omggg. Review time $$$$$ 36 FOR THIS PLATE WITH DRINK Don't go hungry. I said I would share it causes I thought for that price it would be big. NOPE. I wouldn't recommend. This is what you get for a $26 Brisket plate. 5 small pieces of brisket and two sides (I chose double rice). For $10 more you're better off going to Gen BBQ for all you can eat! Taste was just ok. Portion sizes could be a lot better for a $26 plate in a take out container. One star for fast service.

"Old school" prime burger. Tropical sweet iced tea.

WOW. I don't eat burgers often but every now and then I crave them so badly. Stopped by after exploring the food court here. They've got both indoor and outdoor seating, cute diner type vibe with local southern fusion comfort food. I'm really picky about burgers and this one really fulfilled my craving. I ordered the "old school" prime burger. The beef is super flavorful and has just the right amount of char. You can tell they make their patties in house it was perfectly seasoned it looks huge when they place it in front of you but the buns they use actually make it easy to eat/bite into without making a huge mess. There's something nostalgic about the way these taste that I can't put my finger on so maybe that's why they call it "old school". Prices are reasonable, portions are spot on. Service is friendly :) I came in for lunch but noticed they have a cooler with some beers and a liquor license! Will definitely be back with the boyfriend next time we are craving some burgers and cold beer.

5 stars for the service, foosball table, TV's, vibe, etc. The chicken nachos were good! ....but the brisket nachos tasted a bit over cooked. Portions were large and enough food for take out! I'd be willing to go back to try something different on the menu.

Brisket birria tacos are hard to eat. Taco shell on the burnt side, not sure if it's usually like this or just a bad day. Unfortunately the charred shell is all you taste despite the other stuff they put inside.

This is a take-out/delivery review :) I really try my hardest not to base my review(s) of a place on delivery because I know there's factors out of the restaurants control, but I've tried this place both in-person and delivery and neither experience did not disappoint! My co-workers and i all decided to get their "Yum" Chicken Plate and we all customized our sides. That chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the sides were all reliable. For my sides, I got garlic fries and broccoli and for delivery, they arrived hot and fresh. The chicken was a great size for the cost ($17 base + extra for certain sides) and I loved how crispy the skin was and the sauce was so slurpable. You can order a dipping sauce, but since this is like a Korean Fried Chicken it's already coated and dredged in some pretty good flavors. Overall, great experience with delivery and I would do it again. In-person, it was a simple mac and cheese side because I got sushi as my main dish. The inside was decorated all festive and different from the usual food court vibe it's surrounded by. At the end of the day, highly recommended for a treat-yo-self lunch/dinner!

Was craving brisket so we tried this with low expectations but wow food really good! The fried chicken is BONELESS with skin super crispy but juicy. Brisket was on point. Corn was good. Coleslaw homemade as well as mashed potatoes but gravy appeared to be packaged type, not a biggie. Only thing beer in can not very cold but at least they serve alcohol. The seating area could use some pizzaz to draw more people in because it is definitely worth coming to eat. We will be back to try the crab boil and fries.

Thighs are the only chicken piece I have ever had. And they are superb! Crispy skin, juicy and flavorful inside. Even with the Korean sauce glaze, the skins remain crispy.

Location: Kitchen Deja Vu is located inside the Blue Tropix Bar & Grill, which just so happens to be right across the Chili's from Pearlridge Center. Parking: Plenty! You can park anywhere in the Pearlridge Center parking lot Food: We ordered 5 items 1) pan fried pork cheese buns: 10/10 - pillowy soft bread expertly soaks up all the juices from the pork filling, perfectly pan fried bottom adds a bit of crunchy texture, pork filling was seasoned well and there was a decent amount of cheese inside as well (it was giving pizza flavor vibes), supposedly "spicy" but it wasn't too bad at all so this would be good even for those with a low spice tolerance 2) pulehu style short ribs: 10/10 - incredible smoked and grilled flavor, cooked and seasoned to perfection! They're not stingy either, nice portion size and a hearty amount of meat on each short rib too 3) big shrimp potstickers: 11/10 - succulent pork & shrimp filling filled to the brim of wrapper! Very on brand because these buggahs was massive and sooo tasty! Classic potsticker taste and there's a whole shrimp in there too, paired with their shoyu vinegar (I think) sauce and wooo this one was winnnahz ‍ 4) charsui udon: 10/10 - nice & chewy udon noodles and absolutely loaded with charsui and veggies that were so wonderfully stir fried allowing them to soften just a little but remain crispy, adding another layer of texture to the dish and ensuring you get a nice little crunch in every bite! 5) kau yuk (caramelized pork belly): 10/10 - big chunks of sweet & savory pork belly, but not as sweet as the name would have you think. It's actually perfectly balanced, you can definitely taste some authentic asian spices going on in there, and the meat was nice and tender Service: 11/10 We ordered take out but you can absolutely dine in if you wanted to, plenty of booths and/or tables to choose from. But I did wanna mention that we were lucky enough to meet Charlie, the owner! Really nice guy, after we gave him our order, our server Kyle took such good care of us. Checked in on us multiple times & offered to get us some water while waiting for our food. Overall: 10/10 Food was delicious, the chefs obviously know what's good, hats off to them! But the chicken katsu was one of the worst I've ever had on O'ahu. The chicken katsu was greasy and soaked in old oil that tasted rancid and oxidized, which made the panko a disappointingly saturated mess. The panko was way too browned, and neither flaky or freshly crunchy like katsu should truly be, and was a far cry from the photo in the menu. The poor, fatty chicken quality and the rubbery skin left on the chicken pieces just added to the gristly and chewy nature of the katsu. Charging customers these prices for this kind of subpar quality chicken is absolutely insulting, and we couldn't even finish the dish. It's such a disappointment to write this kind of review, but others need to know what they're getting when they order katsu at Gyotaku.

The interior was well lit and adorned with Japanese style kitchen curtains and posters of their most-popular ramen. The light wood on the walls and comfortable seating offered a great place to enjoy their amazing food! I ordered the spicy, flavor-packed Tan Tan Ramen along with their signature fried rice. I couldn't resist the gyoza and was hungry enough to go for six pieces instead of the usual four that come with the combo. What sets the Tan Tan ramen apart is its signature broth: a rich, creamy, and spicy blend made with sesame paste and chili oil. It has a wonderful nutty depth that perfectly coats the thick noodles and pairs beautifully with the toppings. The ramen is highly customizable, so I added extra chashu pork and Ajitama, a soft-boiled egg. The thick, spicy, and savory broth delivered an outstanding flavor profile. If you like spicy ramen, I highly recommend the Tan Tan or try the Spicy Tonkotsu...! The restaurant was easy to find in the Pearl City Shops. While it's not huge, Daiichi Ramen now has multiple locations across Hawaiʻi (Pearl City, Kahala, Kailua, plus Kailua-Kona and Hilo on the Big Island), so you're almost guaranteed to find a seat. Enjoy!

We have no choice since the Kahala one is close for renovations at this point in time. When our food arrived, it looked okay. I took a bite of my carrot tempura, and it was pretty raw - this is going to be a sign of things to come. When I bit into my first shrimp tempura, it had a rather odd texture to it: nevermind the shrimp was really small, but the batter was overwhelming and made me queazy. I would later find out that the tempura was cooked in too-cold oil. This causes the tempura to soak a lot of oil (and undercook like the carrot I had first). There was at least a teaspoon of "clear" liquid at the bottom of our bowls, which I had initially thought it was liquid draining from the curry (sauce). I got a (white) paper napkin and dipped the corner in it - yes, it was oil. So too-cold oil and / or didn't bother to drain the tempura of excess oil. Yes, it made me sick, and I had to use the bathroom several times that night to get rid of it all. (I don't have a strong gallbladder, so excessive oily and fatty foods cause me to run to the toilet.) Rather disappointed the tempura was cooked like that. The curry was not that great either - felt like it had been cooking for several days now. For a "specialty" restaurant that supposed to be able to cook tempura properly, it was really sad.
