    Birria tacos
    April K.

This place has been on my husband and my places to try for a while. So glad we were finally able to come by and order some items to go. The indoor and outdoor seating isn't very comfortable and it was very hot inside the establishment. I was happy to be able to order to go and enjoy in the comfort of my own home. Everything was delicious! My favorite thing was the brisket. It was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The birria tacos were disappointing because there was no consume sauce...I didn't know it could be considered a birria taco without consume sauce! They were still good because it had that awesome brisket meat in it. The noodles were also very good and had a good amount of that delicious brisket. The garlic shrimp were not worth the extra 5.50 imo. They weren't very buttery or garlicky. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked with a nice crunchy batter and tender inside. I will be back for the brisket and noodles and maybe to try a burger and shave ice.

One of the kids wanted Mac and cheese but they only had Mac and cheese corn or with brisket. We asked if we could get the Mac and cheese without the corn but they said no. The kids still seemed to like it, it's very oily I'm assuming from the cheese. And they also wanted animal fries. Very saucey but good! And my mom and I shared the chicken tacos although it kinda looked like they forgot to put the toppings in one because the other side was closed shut. But the tacos were really good. And I got the li hing lemonade, veryyy tart. My nieces wanted to play at fooseball table. Definitely kept them occupied and they also have kids menus for kids to color on which is really nice.

Fried Chicken - Classic Plate Mac Salad & Cole Slaw

Two thumbs up so far for their wings. I tried just the plain chicken wings, no sauce or frills because I wanted to taste it without any distractions, and it's pretty darn tasty. I'm definitely returning to try it with their sauces next and maybe some brisket. Absolutely loved the Mac Salad and Cole Slaw! Clean little place with seating on the inside and outdoor patio area. It's the first restaurant that greets you walking into the Pearl Highlands Food Court. Service was great and friendly. The food took a bit to come out so it tells me it's made to order as it wasn't a busy day there.

It was nice to sit outside on the benches but got too windy for our little one so sat indoors. Service was a bit slow but nice ambiance for a low key dinner. Their garlic truffle fries were delicious and call us a hard critic but we just didn't love their brisket. It was a bit dry. Chicken was nice and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside and their bbq sauce was good! I gave it 3 stars though for the slow service and felt the food was a bit overpriced for the portion. We ordered their corn on a Cobb and it was half of a corn for $6 yikes! Also added shrimp to our chicken and brisket dish for additional $5? And it was only 3 pieces of shrimp.

I HAVE to update the review! This place has an insane Burger! Sheesh. I think it's called the Old School or something like that. I added bacon. The Sauce on the burger was very unique and zesty. Service was ok, not too slow..... They have limited space on the inside but the outdoor seating area is very neat. Back to the food. They took their time getting it right. The fries (Animal Fries) were nice and a crispy coming out. This definitely hit the spot. I will never go back to this place for chicken or brisket. The Burger is the real star here. Don't take my word for it. Just try it and see.

Location/Parking: Pearl Highlands Food Court. Left side. Lots of free parking. Service: we stopped in during lunch and found a table right away. Ambiance: Casual Food Court Style. Food: variety of Asian fusion BBQ. Today we shared the YUM chicken and it did not disappoint. Chicken was nice and crispy and Cole slaw was tasty.

Hubs was in the mood for brisket so he ordered lunch from Chicken & Brisket. It was relatively empty so service was quick! The place is in the food court of Pearl Highlands center, so it's no frills and casual. The brisket sandwich and fries were cooked perfectly and hubs said he'd definitely return for more! The fried chicken was crisp and not greasy at all, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped. Definitely pick up sauces on the next visit if I order the classic chicken again.

Gave this place a try since my bf and I were shopping in the area and the menu looked tasty. It was about a 20 min wait for our food. We got the truffle fries which was probably the best thing we got. I received my brisket tacos and my bf got the fried chicken plate with brisket Mac n cheese and baked beans. First off there was no hot sauce, just siracha. Tacos looked like it was made in old oil and tasted like old oil. Fried chicken was so dry and was all fried with no meat, no flavor and fatty. Just fried fat. Baked beans were dry and covered in their bbq sauce. Mac n cheese looked odd. Didn't have much brisket and over priced. If this place is going to charge extra (even $2 dollar ranch)! At least back it up with taste. The 2 stars are for the service. The waitress was very sweet, it's not her fault about the food and the wait.

This is what you get for a $26 Brisket plate. 5 small pieces of brisket and two sides (I chose double rice). For $10 more you're better off going to Gen BBQ for all you can eat! Taste was just ok. Portion sizes could be a lot better for a $26 plate in a take out container. One star for fast service.

5 stars for the service, foosball table, TV's, vibe, etc. The chicken nachos were good! ....but the brisket nachos tasted a bit over cooked. Portions were large and enough food for take out! I'd be willing to go back to try something different on the menu.

Brisket birria tacos are hard to eat. Taco shell on the burnt side, not sure if it's usually like this or just a bad day. Unfortunately the charred shell is all you taste despite the other stuff they put inside.

This is a take-out/delivery review :) I really try my hardest not to base my review(s) of a place on delivery because I know there's factors out of the restaurants control, but I've tried this place both in-person and delivery and neither experience did not disappoint! My co-workers and i all decided to get their "Yum" Chicken Plate and we all customized our sides. That chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the sides were all reliable. For my sides, I got garlic fries and broccoli and for delivery, they arrived hot and fresh. The chicken was a great size for the cost ($17 base + extra for certain sides) and I loved how crispy the skin was and the sauce was so slurpable. You can order a dipping sauce, but since this is like a Korean Fried Chicken it's already coated and dredged in some pretty good flavors. Overall, great experience with delivery and I would do it again. In-person, it was a simple mac and cheese side because I got sushi as my main dish. The inside was decorated all festive and different from the usual food court vibe it's surrounded by. At the end of the day, highly recommended for a treat-yo-self lunch/dinner!

Do you still do happy hour?

We are currently working on getting our liquor license. Kond of a long process unfortunately. We will definately plan on upgrading our hapoy hour when we do. But please follow us for updates. Mahalo for your support.

    Do you serve brown rice?

    Yes we do.

Yelp says you still require proof of the jab, is this true?

    No!

Is all of your chicken, chicken thighs?

Thighs are the only chicken piece I have ever had. And they are superb! Crispy skin, juicy and flavorful inside. Even with the Korean sauce glaze, the skins remain crispy.

We loved every dish, especially because the flavors were well balanced and never overpowering. The blueberry scones were not too sweet and paired perfectly with the cream cheese. The salad starter was fresh, and the phyllo was crunchy and flavorful on its own. The crab was delicious and well prepared. For the main course, I had the pork loin with apricot and prune. The sweet and savory flavors worked beautifully together, and the meat was perfectly cooked and not dry at all. For dessert, I ordered the Pots de Crème au Chocolate. It was rich and indulgent without being overly sweet -- the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, this was a five-star experience, and I will definitely be booking another reservation again.

Everything looked appealing and appetizing to the eye, but we were met with disappointment on multiple dishes. With Da Bite, you get a flight of three smaller portions of entrees: 1) the waygu loco moco meat was overcooked and the gravy was just salty; 2) crab benedict was more breading than crab so once you bit in, it was quite mealy underneath the initial crunch. The lack of crab could easily go unnoticed when smothered in sauce. 3) Ube pancakes with ube marscapone... the marscapone was delicious, but the pancakes lacked fluff and moisture. The kids pancakes also had the similar spongey dry texture and my nephew chose to only eat half the portion. We also had the Longsilog, which is a sweet sausage, but it was overly sweet for my taste. All in all, the food was just all right for the hype. Maybe we would've enjoyed it better if we hadn't already experienced better versions of similar menu items that set the bar earlier on the trip.

Weird to be serving filipino food and no filipino condiments to get the true taste of filipino cuisine. We ordered fried chicken plate and the chicken was mediocre. The Jessica's Moco was very satisfying. The fried bangus was cooked perfectly, I asked for no onions so they topped it with tomatoes. The adobo fried rice lacked flavor. They are having an Easter Brunch on April 20 with an extensive buffet (posted pic of menu) for $75 adults, $45 for ages 4-12 and free for kids 3 and under. This is our first time attending so will be back with a review.

First time here and everything we had was fantastic. We already have plans to go back. Friendly…read morestaff, great views, and ono food.

Needed to find a spot on route to the airport from waikele so decided to try this spot. Unusual in…read morethat it's located inside the Blue Tropics bar. If you order takeout there's one menu online but if you dine in there's a happy hour menu from 3-6 plus bar menu. The catch if you dine in is that there's a 2 drink minimum per person at regular prices. All dishes came out piping hot (except ahi poke) and fresh . The happy hour dishes were wonderful, especially the manapuas! The spicy pork cheese manapua were great and a bit different. The chasui manapua were delicious. Garlic fries were extra crispy, lots of garlic but greasy. The poke fresh and lemon pepper salt wings crispy but juicy. So all in all a great option for happy hour goodness.

A friend of mine posted food from here on his story and it looked so good I had to ask where it was…read morefrom so I could try it for myself. Location: Kitchen Deja Vu is located inside the Blue Tropix Bar & Grill, which just so happens to be right across the Chili's from Pearlridge Center. Parking: Plenty! You can park anywhere in the Pearlridge Center parking lot Food: We ordered 5 items 1) pan fried pork cheese buns: 10/10 - pillowy soft bread expertly soaks up all the juices from the pork filling, perfectly pan fried bottom adds a bit of crunchy texture, pork filling was seasoned well and there was a decent amount of cheese inside as well (it was giving pizza flavor vibes), supposedly "spicy" but it wasn't too bad at all so this would be good even for those with a low spice tolerance 2) pulehu style short ribs: 10/10 - incredible smoked and grilled flavor, cooked and seasoned to perfection! They're not stingy either, nice portion size and a hearty amount of meat on each short rib too 3) big shrimp potstickers: 11/10 - succulent pork & shrimp filling filled to the brim of wrapper! Very on brand because these buggahs was massive and sooo tasty! Classic potsticker taste and there's a whole shrimp in there too, paired with their shoyu vinegar (I think) sauce and wooo this one was winnnahz ‍ 4) charsui udon: 10/10 - nice & chewy udon noodles and absolutely loaded with charsui and veggies that were so wonderfully stir fried allowing them to soften just a little but remain crispy, adding another layer of texture to the dish and ensuring you get a nice little crunch in every bite! 5) kau yuk (caramelized pork belly): 10/10 - big chunks of sweet & savory pork belly, but not as sweet as the name would have you think. It's actually perfectly balanced, you can definitely taste some authentic asian spices going on in there, and the meat was nice and tender Service: 11/10 We ordered take out but you can absolutely dine in if you wanted to, plenty of booths and/or tables to choose from. But I did wanna mention that we were lucky enough to meet Charlie, the owner! Really nice guy, after we gave him our order, our server Kyle took such good care of us. Checked in on us multiple times & offered to get us some water while waiting for our food. Overall: 10/10 Food was delicious, the chefs obviously know what's good, hats off to them! First time trying this place out and it didn't disappoint and love that you can also order directly from your phone through all major food delivery apps or you can even text your order in, how convenient!
