Two meat and two sides and Texas toast, with a side of a rib
    Violet H.

This is not the Dickey's I remember. I went to two locations in California years ago and enjoyed the food. But times have changed. The prices are higher, and the portions smaller. I'll start with the sides. I got delivery, which took a long time because of traffic, and I believe that affected the quality of the mashed potatoes. They were a gluey lump, but they still tasted okay. The green beans were bacon were terrible - the green beans were overcooked and the bacon was nearly non-existent. But someone dumped a ton of pepper on it, so for me, it was inedible. The baked beans were fine. It came with Texas toast but you get only half a slice these days. Now for the meat. The smoked ham was good but way too salty. One expects ham to be salty, but not this much. The rib was good. The sliced brisket was fine, although nearly to the point of getting dried out. I asked for original BBQ sauce and got nothing. I appreciated that the sauce was on the side but it only works if they actually pack the sauce. I also got a pulled pork sandwich. It was small and smashed down, and meh. They did have great 2-for-1 deals I took advantage of, so I saved a lot of money. But the quality just wasn't there.

Had a great meal at Dickey's Barbecue! The ribs and brisket were incredibly tender and full of smoky flavor. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was another standout--it had just the right amount of heat with the cheesy goodness balancing it perfectly. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. If you're craving good barbecue, this place is definitely worth checking out! Foods are way better now under new management.

As a self proclaimed BBQ judge , I've eaten my way through smokehouses across the country, and Dickey's in Kapolei truly stands out. The brisket here is competition level perfection, clean smoke ring, and tender with just the right bite. Ribs are textbook, pulling cleanly from the bone without falling apart, and the pulled pork is moist with just the right mix of bark pieces. Even the sides are dialed in, especially the green beans and mac & cheese. And don't skip dessert, the owner recommended the pecan pie which is rich, nutty, and the perfect sweet finish to a BBQ feast. He was right!! Service is top-notch: the team is friendly, quick, and clearly proud of what they serve. The Kapolei location adds its own island warmth and aloha spirit, giving it a family vibe that sets it apart from other chain restaurants. Consistently excellent, great portions, and fair prices....this Dickey's proves that chain BBQ can deliver the real deal when done right. If you're in Kapolei and craving authentic Texas-style BBQ with a local touch, this is the place.

Haven't come here in a long time but we always loved the brisket. Unfortunately my serving of brisket (which is $1.25 extra) was dry and needed sauce for flavor. I enjoyed the fried okra but the bbq beans that is supposed to have bacon in it had absolutely no bacon in it. The service was great though.

I can always count on Dickey's for a delicious, filling meal that hits the spot every single time! Today I treated myself to the one-meat plate, and let me tell you... it did not disappoint. I went with double potato salad because it's truly that good and honestly one of my favorite sides ever. I topped it off with their sweet BBQ sauce (my go-to!) and that warm, perfectly soft corn muffin that just completes the whole meal.

Ordered take out and it wasn't the best bbq I've had. The amount of meat we got was ridiculously small for the price. 1 star for the extra bbq sauce they gave on the side and the fried okra. Plenty of okra given and it was good.

$20 for this?! Pictures on their menus are deceiving folks beware. And they forgot my bbq sauce.

YES Dickey's is back and better than ever! The staff were friendly and food was Amazing! I ordered the half rack rib plate and the ribs were THICC and juicy. I couldn't decide which of the 8 bbq sauces to get so I bought extra for $0.50 each to try three of them (Original was my favorite). If dining in they have a nice open and clean dinning area. I saw online on sunday kids eat free with an adult plate so will be back then. So grateful to have an amazing Texas BBQ place on the west side again!

Visited again and loved the food as always! Mac and cheese, fries and brisket never misses. Always a winner, and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Also tried the pecan pie this time and LOVED it! Will always be back :)

First of all, I am not a huge meat fan, so take my review with a grain of salt. I walked in for the sole purpose of getting a couple sides of fried okra cuz they're Taylor's fave and left with over $50 worth of food. I LOVE sides. Potatoes are my favorite food. I also love mac and cheese. I saw they had a veggie plate where you get 3 sides and texas toast so I knew that's what I wanted. I then went to their website and there was a coupon for signing up for the mailing list. Then when you make a rewards account you get a free sandwich! The coupon was for min $45 purchase so I got 5 veggie plates with an assortment of sides. Unfortunately they were out of Texas toast so I got rolls instead. They also forgot to put my fries in the bag but were very apologetic when I called and luckily I was still in the area so I could go back. Highlights were the mac n cheese (reminds me of a bagged one we had at Disney that was so processed but so good) and potato casserole (like mashed potatoes with bacon). Green beans quite peppery were ok. Fries ended up being a bit overcooked but I like the fresh cut texture. Beans had good flavor, mash also peppery but good. Everyone loved the fried okra. Can't wait to go back and try more items! The menu is very extensive and the rewards program is great! Plenty of parking right in front (cuz Kapolei dats why)

    Bbq ribs

Originally from Texas so I'm picky on BBQ. Got the brisket and ribs. Both are amazing! Super tender and full of flavor. Had loaded potatoes also for the kids that do not eat meat. Bbq sauce was super good . I like that they have the drink machine with 100s of choices . Customer service was great. They had little strawberry ice cream cups for the kiddos for 85 cents so it's nice to see affordable treat for kids. On Sunday's they have kids eat free with adult entree so a great way to take everyone out ! The place was super clean also! Workers were very nice.

Do kids still eat free on Sundays?

Do they have the free soft serve ice cream?

    yes

    Do they serve rice?

    Yes

Does anyone know if their phone works or if they take phone orders? Tried to call numerous times and it rings and rings...then it says "Remote Access code needed at the end."

Late October 2018, I have personally witnessed the phone ringing while workers behind the counter winked at each other saying, "I don't hear anything, do you?"

So is there table service or must I order at a window after standing in line?

You would order at the window and then grab a table :)

Could've used a little more garlic aioli, but overall it was delicious. Definitely would get it again __________________________________________________ Double stack Daddy: 9/10 Double patty done right. Crispy edges, juicy beef, perfectly melted cheese, and every bite was packed with flavor without feeling overdone. AIOLI WAS simple, fresh, and exactly what a smash burger should be. Definitely worth the stop if you're craving a legit burger. __________________________________________________ Braddah Big Buns: 7/10 Shmall kine dry, need more sauce, patty too wide for da buns. But buggah still action __________________________________________________ Grilled Apostle: 8.5/10 Order the Village Smash Burger will extra patty & cheese. Very flavorful, but not as juicy as I would like it. Bun was crisp, bacon added an extra touch to the burger making it more than average, delicious! __________________________________________________ Captain Messy Hands, Keeper of the Drip: 7/10 stepping into the smash burger arena for the very first time. Ordered the Village Smash Burger Double Angus patties, cracked pepper crust, mustard, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, American cheese, and their signature Village sauce. This thing came out looking clean, sharp, and locked in. First bite? I finally understood the smash burger hype. The patties were thin, crispy around the edges, and perfectly executed the way a smash burger should be. That cracked pepper crust gave every bite a nice little punch, and the sear on the beef carried the whole experience. No sloppy grill work here! This burger knew exactly what it wanted to be. Now let's address The drip. Or in this case... the lack of it. This burger leaned more dry than messy. Not Sahara desert dry and not dry in a bad way, just controlled. Precise. Balanced. The bun actually deserves respect here because it stayed soft, moist, and held together from first bite to last bite without collapsing under pressure. Structurally elite. But CMH lives for chaos. I like burgers that need a stack of napkins nearby. Burgers where sauce hits the wrist. Burgers that fight back. This wasn't that type of burger. And honestly? I still respect it. Final Verdict...A clean, well executed smash burger with serious crust game. Not a drippy monster, but a strong introduction to the smash burger world. __________________________________________________ The Premium Purists: 9.5/10 The Village Smash Burger is a trendy modern burger that still hits with nostalgic deluxe flavors. I was very impressed by this burger. To me it was luxury in every bite! The balance of flavors from the beef, seasoning, sauce and LTO was on point. Buns stayed solid throughout the entire experience. It's a smash so the patties were a little drier but to me the flavors made up for the lack of juice.

Great value and plenty of food. Stopped in for lunch and the service and ambiance were great. We live in town and have come here several times for happy hour and to meet clients. They have live local music on certain days, which makes it even better. Nothing beats good local food with local music. Consistently good food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon.

Outstanding Food, Vibes, and Live Music!…read more Had an amazing dinner experience at Mahi'ai Table last night with two friends! We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!
