Two meat and two sides and Texas toast, with a side of a rib
    Violet H.

This is not the Dickey's I remember. I went to two locations in California years ago and enjoyed the food. But times have changed. The prices are higher, and the portions smaller. I'll start with the sides. I got delivery, which took a long time because of traffic, and I believe that affected the quality of the mashed potatoes. They were a gluey lump, but they still tasted okay. The green beans were bacon were terrible - the green beans were overcooked and the bacon was nearly non-existent. But someone dumped a ton of pepper on it, so for me, it was inedible. The baked beans were fine. It came with Texas toast but you get only half a slice these days. Now for the meat. The smoked ham was good but way too salty. One expects ham to be salty, but not this much. The rib was good. The sliced brisket was fine, although nearly to the point of getting dried out. I asked for original BBQ sauce and got nothing. I appreciated that the sauce was on the side but it only works if they actually pack the sauce. I also got a pulled pork sandwich. It was small and smashed down, and meh. They did have great 2-for-1 deals I took advantage of, so I saved a lot of money. But the quality just wasn't there.

As a self proclaimed BBQ judge , I've eaten my way through smokehouses across the country, and Dickey's in Kapolei truly stands out. The brisket here is competition level perfection, clean smoke ring, and tender with just the right bite. Ribs are textbook, pulling cleanly from the bone without falling apart, and the pulled pork is moist with just the right mix of bark pieces. Even the sides are dialed in, especially the green beans and mac & cheese. And don't skip dessert, the owner recommended the pecan pie which is rich, nutty, and the perfect sweet finish to a BBQ feast. He was right!! Service is top-notch: the team is friendly, quick, and clearly proud of what they serve. The Kapolei location adds its own island warmth and aloha spirit, giving it a family vibe that sets it apart from other chain restaurants. Consistently excellent, great portions, and fair prices....this Dickey's proves that chain BBQ can deliver the real deal when done right. If you're in Kapolei and craving authentic Texas-style BBQ with a local touch, this is the place.

    Brisket, fried okra, bbq beans

Haven't come here in a long time but we always loved the brisket. Unfortunately my serving of brisket (which is $1.25 extra) was dry and needed sauce for flavor. I enjoyed the fried okra but the bbq beans that is supposed to have bacon in it had absolutely no bacon in it. The service was great though.

I can always count on Dickey's for a delicious, filling meal that hits the spot every single time! Today I treated myself to the one-meat plate, and let me tell you... it did not disappoint. I went with double potato salad because it's truly that good and honestly one of my favorite sides ever. I topped it off with their sweet BBQ sauce (my go-to!) and that warm, perfectly soft corn muffin that just completes the whole meal.

$20 for this?! Pictures on their menus are deceiving folks beware. And they forgot my bbq sauce.

Ordered take out and it wasn't the best bbq I've had. The amount of meat we got was ridiculously small for the price. 1 star for the extra bbq sauce they gave on the side and the fried okra. Plenty of okra given and it was good.

YES Dickey's is back and better than ever! The staff were friendly and food was Amazing! I ordered the half rack rib plate and the ribs were THICC and juicy. I couldn't decide which of the 8 bbq sauces to get so I bought extra for $0.50 each to try three of them (Original was my favorite). If dining in they have a nice open and clean dinning area. I saw online on sunday kids eat free with an adult plate so will be back then. So grateful to have an amazing Texas BBQ place on the west side again!

Visited again and loved the food as always! Mac and cheese, fries and brisket never misses. Always a winner, and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Also tried the pecan pie this time and LOVED it! Will always be back :)

    Bbq ribs

Originally from Texas so I'm picky on BBQ. Got the brisket and ribs. Both are amazing! Super tender and full of flavor. Had loaded potatoes also for the kids that do not eat meat. Bbq sauce was super good . I like that they have the drink machine with 100s of choices . Customer service was great. They had little strawberry ice cream cups for the kiddos for 85 cents so it's nice to see affordable treat for kids. On Sunday's they have kids eat free with adult entree so a great way to take everyone out ! The place was super clean also! Workers were very nice.

Do kids still eat free on Sundays?

Do they have the free soft serve ice cream?

    yes

    Do they serve rice?

    Yes

Does anyone know if their phone works or if they take phone orders? Tried to call numerous times and it rings and rings...then it says "Remote Access code needed at the end."

Late October 2018, I have personally witnessed the phone ringing while workers behind the counter winked at each other saying, "I don't hear anything, do you?"

So is there table service or must I order at a window after standing in line?

You would order at the window and then grab a table :)

The guests are charged for parking while actively patronizing the restaurants and businesses on site even more frustrating. As for the dining experience, monkeypod promotes a local farm to table concept, and the quality of the ingredients seem to support that the food was enjoyable and the Service was outstanding just be prepared for the price tag. Our Bill for seven people was around 500 so while it was good a good meal it certainly wasn't inexpensive. Overall, I recommend the monkey pod for atmosphere service and quality food. We were quoted a 1 hour wait then kept getting pushed to a later time with a lot of empty promises of our table about to be ready. We had kids in our party who were starving and had they told us the wait would be the actual 2 hours that it took to seat us we would have went someplace else. I've worked many years in the industry, what was unforgivable was the fact the manager that night decided to argue with us about expressing our frustrations vs taking accountability for what happened. He mentioned there were a few big parties ahead of us, which we found out later that they didn't show. Looking around the restaurant there were a lot of empty tables in open sections that sat with dirty dishes and cups. The table that we ended up sitting on was let dirty for over 20 minutes as it was one I passed a few times taking my kids to the bathroom. There was no urgency from anyone other than our server which came off as he was ready to go home. I assumed he was sat out of the manager panicking so we do not blame our server for seeming tired yet still attentive when near by. The lack of accountability and urgency from the hosts and manager will now be what I tell friends and family members about for this location, and my self and the rest of my party will never be eating or celebrating here again. The food was okay but having a manager argue with us prior to eating with zero urgency to have our orders taken made things taste a lot worse. I'm sure proper management and training would help this place however myself and my family will not be returning to waste our money, time, or patience here again being that from the host to the managers this is acceptable or behavior from Cheesecake Factory.

Shrimp fried rice- I was really excited to try this and I was really hoping that it would be excellent and it was OK. Also, did I really want a Sonic burger? The answer was an easy no. Did a quick search and found this place which I had no idea existed but now I know they exist in an excellent way. People come here to drink, I'm not a drinker but there was plentynof alcoholic beverages on the back wall for your choice that it could be overwhelming. This is a bar with indoor seating and a World Cup game was on. I think there was outdoor seating but it looked like a different restaurant to me. We ordered dirty fries, a sweet tea, the simple smash, village smash, and sweet tea. I have to admit, I'm overly harsh on burgers but from the first bite, this hit right to me. The dirty fries were good also. We washed down that salt with their mildly sweet sweet tea. That's the only miss for me as I like deep sweet tea thanks to some time spent in Mississippi earlier in life. Their food put themselves on my radar so we will definitely be back as we didn't even scratch the other meats they had on menu.

Will definitely be back soon.

Outstanding Food, Vibes, and Live Music!…read more Had an amazing dinner experience at Mahi'ai Table last night with two friends! We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!
